Salem — Officers responded to the 400 block of Washington Avenue at 9:15 p.m. Saturday in reference to a vehicle striking a utility pole then leaving the scene. Officers found the vehicle at nearby residence with wood from the pole still lodged in its fender. The owner and her son claimed a friend had been driving, but failed to provide proof of the driver. The vehicle was towed and will be impounded until a driver is identified. — Officers were speaking with a woman on station at 5:59 p.m. Saturday in reference to a domestic dispute and observed a syringe in a pants pocket.
