Monica Robb Blasdel, R-New Waterford, announced Wednesday that she introduced the Ohio Equestrian Protection Act to extend the protections created by Ohio’s felony animal cruelty law to horses. Head of scheme that stole millions, including from Salem man, to be sentenced

SALEM — Shreyas Baldevbhai Chaudhary, 25, who is from the Republic of India, will be sentenced at 10 a.m. today in U.S. District Court in Cleveland for his role in a three-person scheme that stole millions of dollars from older adults across the United States, including a 77-year-old Salem man. Prosecutors are recommending that he get about eight to 10 years in prison. They say he was the person who directed the scheme. Court News LISBON — A Salineville man accused of running over a deputy’s foot and fleeing after an incident when he threatened another man in the Spring Valley Road area in 2020 will face sentencing this morning in that case and a nonsupport of dependents case.
