POLICE REPORTS

LISBON

– An officer was called to North Market near the Vista Center at 8:10 a.m. April 11 in regard to a vehicle driven by a Vista Center employee who had just been fired. It is the Vista Center’s policy to call police anytime an employee is fired for failing a drug test in case the ex-employee might be driving impaired. The officer was unable to locate the driver.

– Jim Crosser reported April 22 there were people living in his apartment on East Lincoln Way without his knowledge. Crosser had told Angel Lake to move out several weeks ago and thought that she had. When police arrived, there was a male, female and 3-year-old child. The male said Tim Whamsby, who was not there, told them he was renting the apartment. After being told that was not the case, the couple was ordered to leave with their child, which they did, and the locks were changed. Whamsby later called police and was told he could pick up his belongings on the front porch.

– Police were called to the Community Action Agency at 1:31 p.m. April 23 and spoke with Nicole Hilton, who was again told how to obtain an eviction notice through the courts. Hilton calmed down and waited for a CARTS bus to take her to Salem.

– Elizabeth Barringer asked for an officer to stand by while an eviction notice was served on a tenant on East Washington Street at 2:20 p.m. Friday.

– Beulah Yeater, East Lincoln Way, reported Friday her granddaughter took her dog and was refusing to return it. The dog had been returned by the time an officer went to the granddaughter’s residence, also on East Lincoln Way. The officer advised the parties this was a civil matter that would have to be sorted out in court.

– Mikala R. McCoy, state Route 170, Negley, reported her pickup was keyed while she was at her boyfriend’s home on North Market Street Friday night.

– A caller complained about youths at the park basketball court using foul language at 1 p.m. Saturday. An officer told the youths to watch their language and to keep the noise down.

-Police were called to Garfield Street at 1:46 p.m. Saturday after Pat McLaughlin was found to have fallen on the porch of her neighbor’s house. McLaughlin said her left arm was hurt and possibly dislocated. The officer remained until an ambulance arrived.

– Police were called to the Valley View at 3 p.m. Saturday, where Dan Lucido said he could not stop shaking and needed medical care. The officer remained until an ambulance arrived to transport Lucido to the hospital in East Liverpool.

– Amanda Wilson, East Lincoln Way, reported Sunday her grandmother’s pain medication and allergy medication were missing. They were last seen on the kitchen counter at 4:30 a.m. that day.

– A caller reported there was a suspicious motorist near the storage units on West Chestnut Street at 11:25 p.m. Sunday. Police checked but did not see anyone around, and the units appeared to be secure.

– Jeremiah Wylie, North Market Street, reported April 14 his TV was stolen, and entry may have been through a kitchen window that was found with the window screen cut.

– Brittany DeMarco, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, reported April 16 she was returning to her car after having been in the Dollar General when she saw a white male getting out of her vehicle with a bag of prescriptions she had just filled next door at the Rite Aid. The man took her medications and ran toward the McDonald’s restaurant.

SALEM TWP.

– Constable Dan Valentine received a report for a resident in the 38000 block of old state Route 344, Leetonia, at 5:30 p.m. Monday advising of a call on her cell phone from an unknown person who made a threat of physical harm to her.

SALEM

– A line was reported down in the 400 block of Highland Avenue at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday. The line was pulled off the road and the phone company contacted.

– An officer on patrol at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday placed a 48-hour notice and a parking ticket on a 2003 Cavalier parked reportedly for months in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue.

-A suspicious person was reported at 4:18 a.m. Tuesday at Speedway, 175 W. State St., where a man had been seen wearing a mask behind the business. An officer found a Halloween-type mask on the side of the business and made contact with the man pointed out by a clerk. The man said he was joking around and left the mask outside before entering the store.

– Police responded at 3:56 a.m. Tuesday to Walmart on East State Street where a suspicious man was requesting rides from customers. He was contacted and told to stop, then left the area.

– An intoxicated driver was reported at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday on West Fifth Street, but the gray four-door vehicle wasn’t found.

– Craig Apinis, 35, of 511 N. Ellsworth Ave., was charged with domestic violence early Tuesday after police were called back to his residence for the third time in over an hour for a domestic dispute. The victim and their children were at the neighbor’s residence when police arrived. The victim said she and her husband had an argument and alleged that he struck her in the face and arm causing visible injuries. He left before police arrived and went to Salem Regional Medical Center to the emergency department where he was taken into custody. Police had been to the residence at 11:56 p.m. for an ongoing verbal dispute and the residents were told the consequences if police had to return. Apinis had called police to the home at 11:28 p.m. for a domestic dispute, with him claiming his wife started an argument and pushed him and he stepped on an object, causing a small cut on his toe. She had left the house with the children. She showed up at the police station and told police her husband had been hitting himself and had not touched her.

– A suspicious man was reported at 11:24 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of West Pershing Street, but was not found.

-Police were called back to the scene of a medical call at 11:17 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of South Union Avenue for a possible attempted suicide, with a female taken to the hospital by KLG. Police had been to the call earlier and helped fire department first responders find the specific apartment for the medical.

– Michael Newel, 29, of 290 S. Union Ave., was cited for prohibited activity on the street after police were called at 10:07 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of Washington Avenue for a suspicious person roller blading in the middle of the street. He was told he was seen by an off-duty officer attempting to get into several vehicles, but denied the allegation and said he was looking for some money he lost earlier in the day. He had been warned at 6:25 p.m. about roller blading in the middle of the street on Pershing, leading to the citation. When asked if he remembered being warned, he said he thought officers were just being rude to him.

– A person was reported yelling for help at 8:18 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge. It turned out to be a juvenile unhappy with parents. An officer spoke to the juvenile about the situation.

– A woman came to the police station at 6:40 p.m. Monday to request officers go to her ex-husband’s residence on East Third Street and remove their child. She had court documents with her, which officers read and determined the father of the child had court-ordered custody. She was told a court order was required to remove the child.

– A man who had been transported to Salem Regional Medical Center by ambulance reported at 6:25 p.m. Monday that he didn’t have a way to get back to Lisbon. Officers spoke with a worker from the home where he lived and they said it was not their responsibility to get the man back home. The hospital made arrangements to get the man home.

– Dale Carnick, 52, of Hanoverton, was cited for a red light violation after he thought he had the green light while westbound on Franklin at South Lincoln Aveneu due to a vehicle turning right on red. He proceeded through the red light and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Tiffany Lippencott, 22, of Beloit, who had the green light at 5:25 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

– Stephen Gronow, 49, of Louisville, was cited for assured clear distance after his vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Thomas Piatt, 19, of East Third Street, who had stopped for traffic while eastbound on East State Street at 5:13 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

– A vehicle was reported parked illegally at 4:51 p.m. Monday on East School Street. The owner was found and moved it.

– A 16-year-old Berlin Center boy was cited for a red light violation after the eastbound pickup he was driving on West State Street traveled through the red light and struck the mini van driven by Ted Yuhaniak, 55, of Cunningham Road, at 4:30 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

-Store personnel in the 2300 block of East State Street at 3:14 p.m. Monday reported possible shoplifting. Three men came into the store and one left with an umbrella without paying for it.

PERRY TWP.

– A resident on East 11th Street spoke with an officer at 1:57 p.m. Tuesday about a phone scam she had received from a company telling her she had won several millions of dollars and that it would be dropped off to her after she went to Walmart and got a money order for $400 to give to the delivery person. She was suspicious and called police.

– Police were notified at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday by a juvenile court probation officer about an active warrant issued for a juvenile residing in the 1000 block of Elberon Avenue. While enroute to the residence with the paperwork, officers were told the juvenile fled on foot with another juvenile. With assistance from Salem Police and the juvenile probation department, police found the juvenile walking in the area of Granite Street. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Tobin Center.

– Police responded, along with KLG Ambulance, to the 300 block of Stewart Road, for a man having a hard time breathing at 7:07 p.m. Monday. Police assisted KLG personnel while they treated the victim.

– Sondra O’Donnell, 60, of Highland Avenue, was cited for failure to yield after her southbound vehicle on Cunningham Road pulled from the stop sign and into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Sandra Sposetta, 62, of North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, on state Route 344 at 7:55 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

– A caller at 3:03 a.m. Monday reported unknown people ringing doorbells in the 1100 block of Highland East and then running. The caller reported the doorbell rang twice in one hour. No one was found.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– Police were called at 2:46 p.m. Monday for a suspicious person in the 800 block of North Union Avenue. A man was near a residence and then got into a car and started blowing the horn. Police stopped the vehicle and identified the male driver as an insurance agent trying to contact the neighbor.

– Christy Keglor, 39, of 693 Fair Ave., was charged with criminal trespass and released on her own recognizance pending a court hearing after police were called to Walmart for a trespasser. An asset protection associate reported the woman was issued a trespass notice last August and was not allowed on the property or inside the store.

– A resident in the 800 block of East Third Street reported at 9:18 a.m. Monday that a car battery was left in her front shrubs.

– A woman called at 8:54 a.m. Monday to report a problem that occurred last Thursday at the Murphy USA gas station. When she was there to get gas, there was a misunderstanding with a man in a blue truck. She didn’t see him pulling up and he apparently felt she cut him off which upset him. He began yelling at her and calling her vulgar names, claiming he had a right to do as free speech. He also said he was a veteran and deserved better. He claimed he was memorizing her license plate number and car so he would make the car not start if he saw it out somewhere.

– Gerald DiPanfilo, 61, of 1130 E. Pershing St., was charged with obstruction of official business and a passenger in his car, Lance Dangelo, 23, of 1040 E. Fourth St., was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer on patrol at 4:26 a.m. Monday noticed suspicious activity at Walmart on East State Street. The officer noticed two people leaving the store in a rapid manner and getting into a vehicle to leave. A theft was reported and a traffic stop was initiated. The business did not want to file criminal charges related to the alleged theft.

– Monique Fish, 22, of 672 N. Howard Ave., was cited for having no license after a traffic stop for an equipment violation at 1:11 a.m. Monday on East Third Street. She was given a warning for the equipment violation.

– An intoxicated driver was reported in a blue Scion at 12:47 a.m. Monday on East State Street and Lincoln Avenue, but was not found.

– Police responded to the 700 block of East Pershing Street at 9:38 p.m. Monday for a female having medical issues from taking too much medication. She was found vomiting near a business. Fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance responded and KLG took her to Salem Regional Medical Center.

– A caller at 8:19 p.m. Sunday reported someone letting off fireworks in the 900 block of East Fifth Street. Some neighbors heard them but said they didn’t set them off.

– Children were reported playing in trees in the 100 block of West Fourth Street at 7:46 p.m. Sunday. An officer found a child attempting to retrieve a ball from a tree. The older brother of the child said he would get the ball down.

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue. Both were told to stay away from each other.

– Police were called at 7:28 p.m. Sunday to the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue for a suspicious man going door to door asking people for a ride out of town. He wasn’t found.

– A woman called for police at 7:12 p.m. Sunday after coming home to her residence on North Madison Avenue and finding the door open and the window shattered on the rear door. Money was missing.

– A victim at 6:37 p.m. Sunday told police he was assaulted near Southeast Boulevard by two people he didn’t know. He told the officers the assault was over money he owed for drugs. He was told his options. Police didn’t find the suspects.

– Shane Koehler, of Ohio Avenue, reported at 6:33 p.m. Sunday that his bank card and driver’s license were stolen from his locked car parked in the driveway. The driver side door appeared to be pried open.

– An officer on patrol at 6:29 p.m. Sunday at Waterworth Memorial Park found a metal post knocked down at the rear of the park. The post was used to chain off the rear entrance and appeared to be struck by a vehicle.

– A purse was found in the Walmart parking lot and turned over to police at 6:23 p.m. Sunday. The owner was contacted to pick it up.

– A woman in the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 3:57 p.m. Sunday that a male and female neighbor threw a beer can at her window and threatened to harm her. She wanted no further contact with them.

– A resident on Hawley Avenue reported at 1:50 p.m. Sunday that she gave a man money to get her cigarettes and he left without returning.

PERRY TWP.

– A resident on Goshen Road called Sunday to report being scammed through an internet transaction. The woman was selling an item through Craig’s List and the buyer allegedly sent payment plus additional money for shipping fees allegedly held in escrow by PayPal. The shipping company allegedly required pre-payment and sent emails for payment methods through MoneyGram. The woman complied and sent two money transfers electronically after purchasing them at Walmart for $1,142. She was then requested to confirm the MoneyGrams being sent by supplying her full name and address and the reference number. The money allegedly held in escrow was never transferred to her account and the scammer requested more money be sent for an alleged overpayment made to her account. She became suspicious and contacted PayPal directly and found the entire encounter had been a scam and PayPal was never involved and had no knowledge of any transactions made through their website for the alleged sale of an item on Craig’s List. The woman was referred to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and FBI for internet crimes.

– Police were called by a Pennsylvania woman at 11:31 p.m. Saturday to check on a family member she couldn’t reach on North Lincoln Avenue. While police were there, she called back to say she had made contact with the person and they were fine.

– An intoxicated male was reported in the 1500 block of Depot Road at 9:57 p.m. Saturday. He told police he had an argument with his girlfriend and was walking to Lisbon to meet her. He was taken back to his residence on South Lincoln Avenue and told the consequences if he leaves.

– Jennifer Boyer, of Damascus, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence after police were called for a reckless driver at 6:35 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle turned from Georgetown Road onto state Route 45, then went south on state Route 9 and into a driveway. Police saw the vehicle almost pull from the driveway into traffic, almost causing an accident, then pull into the lot of a vacant business.

– Marilyn Wilson, East 11th Street, reported at 5:03 p.m. Saturday that someone took a checkbook and a wallet containing credit cards and a driver’s license from a vehicle parked in her drive. She became aware after being contacted about unusual charges made that day at local businesses.

– A reckless operator was reported at 4:33 p.m. Saturday in a silver Dodge Charger or Chrysler 300 in the area of West Perry Street, Overlook Drive and Liberty Street, causing minor yard damage to property on Overlook where the vehicle went off of the road. The vehicle was not found.

– A vehicle was reported being operated recklessly at 1:03 p.m. Saturday in the area of state Route 45 at East Pidgeon Road. Police got behind the vehicle and followed it but didn’t see any violations.

– Police on patrol at 12:28 p.m. Saturday located a missing person via registration, with Salem Police contacted since the vehicle was inside the city limits. The person said they had been home with their family for months but had not contacted their local police to advise them. Washingtonville Police were contacted to remove them from their system.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 4:30 p.m. April 20 where a woman reported a juvenile had been kicking and punching her when she tried to stop the girl from harming herself.

– Police responded to a theft report in the 13000 block of Smith Goshen Road at 4:21 p.m. April 21.

– A 14-year-old resident at the Sharon Lynn Girls Home was charged with unruly juvenile at 8:20 p.m. April 21 after an officer had to return to the facility a third time for the same resident being unruly.

– Police investigated a juvenile complaint on Derr Avenue in Beloit at 2:20 p.m. April 24.

– Danae Ayers-Flores, 407 N. Union Ave., Alliance, was charged with driving under suspension and operating a vehicle intoxicated following a traffic stop for parking on a highway at 3:41 a.m. Saturday.

– Police responded to a breaking and entering report in the 15000 block of state Route 14 at 12:04 p.m. Saturday.

– Police responded to a breaking and entering report at the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 8:10 p.m. Saturday.

COLUMBIANA

– Karen Witmer, South West Street, reported at 3:27 p.m. Sunday someone kept riding a four-wheeler up and down the road. Police checked the area and did not see anyone riding but did speak with a neighbor who had an ATV parked in their yard and advised they should not drive on the road.

– On routine patrol at 10:55 p.m. Sunday police found someone has turned the Christmas light on in the gazebo at Firestone Park. Nothing else appeared to be out of the ordinary and the light was turned off.

– Christine E. Tullis, 55, Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension and expired registration following a traffic stop on West Park Avenue at 7:45 a.m. Saturday.

– Michael Deangel reported at 10 a.m. Saturday there were charges on his bank account he did not make.

– Police provided a special detail at 10:28 a.m. Saturday at Sparkle Market for the drug take back program.

– On routine patrol in the area of Cornerstone Motors at 8:21 p.m. Saturday police checked on a green Dodge truck after noticing the windows were steamed up. No one was inside and the keyholder was contacted.

– A woman reported at 8:27 p.m. Saturday a blue Volkswagen vehicle was speeding up and down Beverly Drive near East Park Avenue. Police checked the area but did not see the vehicle.

– Carleen M. Bechtel, 20, state Route 14, Columbiana, was westbound on state Route 14 at 5:16 p.m. Friday and Steven R. McElroy, 58, Columbia Road, Columbiana, was northeast on Springfield Road and crossing over state Route 14 to Heck Road and was struck by Bechtel. No citations were issued.

LISBON

– David L. Todd, 42, East Lincoln Way, was charged with felonious assault for allegedly throwing a brick at his girlfriend, Amber Possage, and then striking her several times. The alleged attack occurred early Sunday afternoon after police received a call about the assault, and Todd was found sitting on the steps at the Eagles. The thrown brick reportedly missed the 31-year-old Possage by six inches.

– A caller reported youths at the outdoor community basketball court appeared to be smoking marijuana at 2:29 p.m. Sunday. The youths were gone by the time police arrived.

– Thomas Jewl reported someone was setting off fireworks on East Washington Street at 9:18 p.m. April 20. Police checked the area and did not hear any fireworks nor did anyone else they spoke with.

– Lisa McCourt reported arriving for work at the Dollar General at 6:53 a.m. Thursday to find chicken smeared on the door and a package of chicken laying at the base of the door. The package label was from Marc’s.

– Park manager Dana Blackburn reported there were older youths on the park equipment at 6 p.m. Sunday and she discovered some of the equipment had writing on it.

– Police were called to a home on Pritchard Avenue at 1 a.m. Saturday in regard to a medical emergency. The officers remained until an ambulance arrived to transport the person to the hospital.

Salem

– A man reported on station at 8:12 a.m. Saturday that his juvenile daughter had told him a man had attempted to open a door on their vehicle while he was in a West State Street business. The man said he spoke to the other man who said he was looking for his backpack he had left at the business earlier.

– Police responded to an East State Street business at 1:39 p.m. Saturday in reference to a man stealing a bottle of vodka. The man was located at a nearby home, but he denied the allegation.

– Police responded to a Park Avenue home at 4:22 p.m. Saturday where a woman reported the father of her child had been threatening her.

– Police responded to a South Lundy Avenue store at 7:43 p.m. Saturday in reference to two juveniles in the lobby who claimed they were not allowed to go home. The boys told officers that they had gone to the store to buy candy and did not know how long they’d been there. They were taken to their home on Franklin Avenue where their mother said she never told the boys they weren’t allowed back home. She was warned to keep a closer watch on her children.

– Officers responded to a Hawley Avenue home at 9:47 p.m. Saturday between a husband and wife in which the husband allegedly broke a coffee table. The husband agreed to leave for the night.

– Police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:05 a.m. Sunday for a report of a man knocking on apartment doors. The man reportedly left before officers arrived.

– Julie E. Clevinger, 48, 1519 S. Lincoln Ave., Salem, was arrested on a felony warrant out of the Canton Police Department for aggravated assault after an officer observed her in the 100 block of Washington Avenue at 1:36 a.m. Sunday and recognized her to have the warrant.

– Officers responded to an alarm in the 400 block Franklin Street home at 2:02 a.m. Sunday where the resident said an unknown man had attempted to enter through the kitchen window but fled when she yelled. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the man.

– Corey G. Sims, 29, Lakewood, was arrested for operating a vehicle intoxicated following a traffic stop for speed in the 200 block of West 14th Street at 2:24 a.m. Sunday.

– Police responded to an East State Street business at 3:03 a.m. Sunday where a man reportedly left without paying for merchandise and fled in a gray SUV with a handicap placard driven by a woman. Officers were unable to find the vehicle.

– Lynsee M. Ahearn, 20, 310 Vine Ave., Salem, was arrested for domestic violence after officers responded to her home in reference to a domestic disturbance and found her live-in boyfriend with several injuries. She was located in a nearby alley.

– A man reported at 2:30 p.m. Sunday that his mom’s vehicle had been damaged while he had it at a friend’s home on South Lincoln Avenue over the weekend.

Salem

– Ryan M. Thompson, 31, Hawley Avenue, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant at 7:57 a.m. Friday after an officer saw him walking in the 800 block of East Third Street and recognized him to have the warrant.

– Police responded to a Lexington Avenue home at 11:48 a.m. Friday where a woman reported her soon-to-be ex-husband had put a hole in the wall following a brief argument. The man said she had pushed him into the wall and then wouldn’t let him leave.

– Officers responded to an East State Street business at 1:49 p.m. Friday for a report of a shoplifter. The suspect, found at a nearby home, said that he had put a bottle of vodka in his pocket so he could hold other items, but left the bottle on the store’s counter. Officers were unable to find the bottle, but warned the man not to return to the store.

– Marci M. Kirkpatrick, 29, 424 Washington St., Leetonia, was charged with driving under suspension and obstructing official business following a traffic stop on Kennedy Drive at 3:06 p.m. Friday after an officer observed her passenger to be a subject involved in a search warrant earlier. She allegedly gave a false identification to the officer.

– Police responded to a 200 block East Third Street home at 3:23 p.m. Friday where the resident reported her care giver had taken the keys to her safe.

– A woman brought her 13-year-old daughter to the station at 5:15 p.m. Friday to turn in items the daughter had stolen from an East State Street business. The daughter was charged with delinquency.

– Police responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 9:41 p.m. Friday where a man reported he had been assaulted in the 100 block of North Broadway Avenue.

– Police responded to a fight in the 800 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 11:25 p.m. Friday and found a physical altercation had occurred between two men, one of which had already left the scene. The man remaining declined medical treatment. Officers located the other man who also had injuries but claimed they were in self defense. Possibles charges were forwarded to the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

– Officers responded to a 400 block East Third Street home at 11:39 p.m. Friday for a domestic between a father and son. The father said the two had been training when the son bit his thumb. The son said he bit his father’s thumb when he tried to stick it in his mouth. They were advised to stay away from each other for the night, but the father agreed to leave.

– Police responded to the 500 block of Columbia Street at 12:05 a.m. Saturday for a report of a man knocking on apartment doors and asking for marijuana. Officers were unable to find the man.

– Chris A. Griffith, 63, 13501 Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated (.218), driving under suspension-habitual offender, possession of drug paraphernalia, speed and marked lanes following a traffic stop on West State Street near Georgetown Road at 2:47 a.m. Saturday.

– An officer responded to a 100 block West State Street gas station at 5:36 a.m. Saturday where a Perry Township police officer had found a backpack containing items believed to be stolen.

Columbiana

– Charles Henry Collins III, 20, Creek Road, New Waterford, was traveling west on state Route 14 at 6:05 a.m. Wednesday when Jordan F. Spencer, 21, state Route 517, Lisbon, who was traveling northeast on Springfield Road, failed to yield at the intersection and pulled into the path of Collins, causing Collins to hit Spencer on the passenger side. Spencer was cited for failure to yield.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 5:11 a.m. Friday in the Terra Verde and Parkview Drive. The man in the vehicle was reportedly shining a light on a woman, but officers later determined he was delivering papers.

– Samuel Van Pelt, Leetonia, was pulling a Bobcat excavator on a trailer at 8:59 a.m. Friday on Columbiana-Lisbon Road when the excavator struck the railroad overpass. Van Pelt was cited for assured clear distance.

– A suspicious man was reported hanging out at the Presbyterian Church at 3:37 p.m. Friday. Officers escorted Mark Wellman, Novelty, to the area of state routes 7 and 14 as the church was closing for the day. Wellman was the subject of a second suspicious person report at 8:19 p.m. at the Dunkin Donuts, and officers transported him to Beaver Township.

– Stephen Grant, East Woodland Avenue, turned in a phone at 9:02 p.m. Friday which he said he found in his child’s room that does not belong to the family.

– Police responded to the 600 block of East 3rd Street at 1:35 a.m. Friday where a person was transported to the hospital.

– Police made a traffic stop at 12:53 a.m. on South Lincoln Avenue and cited Derek M. Blair, 1782 Oak St., Salem, with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a warning for the traffic violation.

– Police responded to the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue on Thursday where a man and woman placed merchandise in a child’s stroller but had not left the store. They were advised to pay for it before leaving.

– Police responded to the 600 block of Continental Drive at 6:38 p.m. Thursday where the complainant advised there was a person in the middle of the road. Police located a female face down with several people around her and she was taken to the hospital. She was reportedly from a local care facility.

– Police responded to the 100 block of Washington Avenue at 5:23 p.m. Thursday where the complainant advised that earlier in the week the home was entered and medication was taken.

– Police responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 9:11 p.m. Thursday where a man walked out of the store with a pair of brown dress shoes without paying for them. Police were unable to locate him.

– Police were called to the 2300 block of East State Street at 11 p.m. Thursday for a report of a person to be removed. The man was gone when police arrived.

– Police responded to the area of East 5th Street between Vine and Rose for a report of a fight at 3:05 p.m. and learned it was a group of girls who were involved with horseplay.

COLUMBIANA

– Jillian Boren, Waters Edge Drive, reported debit card fraud at 11:26 a.m. Thursday.

LISBON

– Police responded to a reported suicide threat on West Chestnut Street at 12:50 a.m. April 19, where they spoke with a couple who had been arguing. They both accused the other of threatening to commit suicide, and police said neither appeared to be suicidal. The male had scratches on his neck and chest, and the female said she inflicted them when he pinned her down. Neither party wished to file charges.

– A caller reported seeing a pickup parked in Pilmer’s Autoparts at 10:53 p.m. April 8, and the officer saw a truck matching the description leaving the parking lot. The officer pulled the truck over and spoke to the driver, 34-year-old Matthew D. Soldo, Hilltop Drive, who he said he was waiting for a friend in the parking lot but they never showed up. Soldo was cited for driving with a suspended license.

– A resident of the American Boarding Home on North Market Street came to the police departments on Monday to report he was having suicidal thoughts and no one would help him. An ambulance was summoned, and while they were waiting the officer asked the man what happened when they transported him to the hospital two days before. The man said a supervisor at the boarding home signed him out and this happens all of the time.

– A vehicle being driven by a Mrs. Vangessen ran out of gas at the intersection of North Beaver and North Market streets at 4:15 p.m. Monday, and police had it towed after she was unable to get anyone to bring her gas.

– Police responded to suicide threats on Pritchard Avenue at 6:35 p.m. Monday and advised the female’s mother what was going on and told her she needed to take her to a hospital.

– Crystal Viznicky, West Lincoln Way, reported Monday a neighbor Jay Farrow comes to her home all hours of the day and returns even after being told he is unwelcome. An officer spoke with Farrow and warned him the next time he could be charged.

– Police responded to suicide threats at the American Boarding Home on North Market Street 6:54 p.m. Tuesday. An officer remained until an ambulance crew arrived.

– Dan Bekar reported at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday a suspicious white truck pulled into a parking lot on East Park Avenue and it appeared to be disabled.

LISBON

– Cindy Harvey of Apple Grove apartments reported at 8:47 p.m. April 17 someone tried to break into her apartment after she found a window screen was bent as if someone tried to pry it open. The window was bent but the officer did not observe any footprints in the dirt outside her window.

– A complaint of neighbors yelling on East Lincoln Way was received at 8:33 p.m. April 17. Police spoke with Robert J. Davis and Anastasha Blinn, who said they were arguing but it was nothing serious. The parties were advised to keep the noise down.

– Candice and Curtis Smith, West Washington Street, called at 5:11 p.m. April 18 in regard to someone taking their 8-year-old daughter without permission. Jeanette R. Weibush said her daughter was playing with the Smith girl, and when it was time to go home the Smith’s daughter asked to go with Weibush, who said she thought the Smiths knew. Weibush said she returned Smith’s daughter immediately. The Smiths said they have never even met Weibush let alone give her permission to take their daughter. The Smiths declined to press charges as long as Weibush leaves their daughter alone.

-Heather Hairhoger, of Southeast Boulevard, reported at 12:02 p.m. Thursday that she parked her vehicle at Sparkle Market on South Lundy Avenue just before 9 p.m. Wednesday and someone entered the vehicle, removing a bag containing a Wii game console, racing wheel, game sticks and connections valued at $275.

– A suspicious person was reported at 4:19 a.m. Thursday at Circle K West, 780 W. State St., but could not be found by police.

– A suspicious person was reported sitting in front of the entrance to Walmart, 2875 E. State St., at 3:23 a.m. Thursday. Police made contact with the person, who said he was just finishing a cigarette.

– Michael Delp, 37, of 676 E. Eighth St., was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and a display of plates violation after a traffic stop at 2:12 a.m. Thursday.

– An alarm was reported at 11:54 p.m. Wednesday on Hickory Lane, but the building was found secure.

– A domestic was reported at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday in the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard where a woman said her boyfriend was intoxicated and would not leave her alone. They were told to go their separate ways for the evening.

– A man reported at 8:49 p.m. Wednesday that a neighbor’s dog was running at large. The owner was contacted and retrieved the dog.

– A vehicle was reported speeding in the 900 block of Liberty Street at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday. An officer spoke to the driver and told him to slow down.

– David Hughes, of the 800 block of Arch Street, reported at 6:57 p.m. Wednesday that his lawn mower was stolen from his garage.

– Lost property was found in the 1500 block of East Pershing Street at 6:19 p.m. Wednesday and placed in the police lost and found.

– A caller at 4:36 p.m. Wednesday reported a man taking a door from a vacant residence on West Pershing Street and loading it into a small blue pickup. The truck was not found.

– Mark Panezott, of East Eighth Street, reported at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday that someone broke into his vehicle on East School Street and stole several items, including his wallet. He learned that one of his bank cards was used for fraudulent purchases the same day.

– A domestic was reported at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue where a man said he and a male relative had a physical altercation and the other person left. The man also said he was having chest pains and required medical personnel. Salem Fire Department first responders and EMT Ambulance came and he was medically cleared. He was told his options related to the domestic.

– Police were called to the 900 block of North Union Avenue at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The person said he was okay and must have hit the 911 button while taking a nap.

– Pamela Kenny, of the 400 block of West Sixth Street, reported at 1:01 p.m. Wednesday that someone stole a wheelbarrow and eye sticker from her shed in the back yard.

– A woman on Southeast Boulevard spoke with police at 12:21 p.m. Wednesday about a tree trimming service trimming her tree to place a new telephone pole in her back yard. She did not want the tree trimmed. She was told they had a right to trim the tree for safety reasons to place the new pole.

– A woman reported at 12:29 p.m. Wednesday that a man she knows from college is following her and trying to touch her against her will. An officer will contact the man and tell him to stop.

– A purse was found on a woman’s vehicle in the 600 block of East Fifth Street at 11:49 a.m. Wednesday and was brought to the police station where the owner responded and had been unaware that the purse had been stolen from her vehicle. She found that the wallet was missing and was told to ask the bank to cancel her card. It was discovered later that the card had already been used at various locations in the city.

– A caller at 10:33 p.m. Wednesday reported dogs barking in the 200 block of Apple Street. The residence was located, but police were unable to contact the homeowner.

– Police were called at 7:32 p.m. Wednesday for a shooting complaint in the 500 block of West Pine Lake Road. Police found that there was a proper backstop for what the people were shooting, but they were told if they wanted to shoot anything larger, they would need a larger backstop and they understood.

– Angel Miguel Martin, 35, of South Broadway Avenue, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 11:12 a.m. Wednesday on Benton Road at Florida Avenue. Police also found the driver never possessed a valid Ohio license. The vehicle was towed with a hold for proof of ownership. Martin and his passengers were picked up by a friend.

– Marci Mancuso, 29, whose last known address was Washington Street, Leetonia, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 2:07 a.m. Wednesday on Woodland Avenue. The license plates were removed and confiscated per the BMV and the vehicle was towed.

– A clerk at Circle K, 1125 E. State St., reported at 1:46 a.m. Wednesday that a wallet was left at the store. A debit card was also left there. Both items were given to police and placed in the police lost and found.

– Police were called at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday to the 400 block of West Third Street for a suspicious vehicle parked behind a residence with the headlights on for two hours. An officer learned the lights were accidentally left on by the owner.

– An officer at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday spoke to a man about some personal issues at his place of employment. He was told his options.

– A caller at 11:09 p.m. Tuesday asked police to check the well-being of a person walking on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of East State Street who was stumbling and possibly intoxicated. The person was okay, with no signs of intoxication.

– Police responded to North Madison Avenue to check for a report at 8:22 p.m. Tuesday of a gray four-door vehicle allegedly speeding up and down the street. The vehicle was not found.

– Police were called at 7:13 p.m. Tuesday to the area of East State Street and Washington Avenue for a report of four intoxicated people. Officers arrived and learned that one of the people called dispatch and reported he was just assaulted. They made contact with him on North Union Avenue. He said he was walking down the sidewalk with a friend when he was attacked by a male juvenile he knows. The juvenile punched him several times and left traveling west on East State Street with his mother. The incident was under investigation.

– A caller at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday reported juveniles riding bicycles on the track at Reilly Stadium. An officer spoke to the juveniles and they said they wouldn’t do it any more.

– A security alarm was reported going off at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Vine Avenue. The building was found secure. Nothing appeared disturbed.

– An officer on East State Street at Vine Avenue at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday initiated a traffic stop after seeing a vehicle with expired registration. The driver, Linda L. Snyder, 38, of Franklin Street, was cited for driving under suspension and expired registration. The vehicle was towed.

– A male juvenile came to the police station at 5:21 p.m. Tuesday to report he was threatened by a male adult and another male juvenile while in the 200 block of South Lundy Avenue. He alleged that the adult male said he had a knife and has hurt people in the past. An officer located the two and both said no threats were made. No weapons were found on either one of them. All parties were told to stay away from each other.

– A resident in the 400 block of Washington Avenue reported at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday that she was assaulted by an in-home care worker on April 15. The officer observed bruising on her. The alleged assault is under investigation.

– A residential security alarm was reported at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of Franklin Avenue. The exterior was checked and found secure.

– Charles McNeal, 42, of Columbiana Waterword Road, Columbiana, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Lynne Guappone, 52, of Leetonia Road, Leetonia, at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday on Georgetown Road. Guappone was stopped for the stop sign at state Route 45 when struck from behind. No injuries were reported.

– Kevin Blackburn, 28, whose last known address was 6471 state Route 9, Salem, was taken into custody at 1:42 p.m. Tuesday on an active warrant out of Columbiana County for failure to appear for domestic violence. Blackburn was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on state Route 45 at Pidgeon Road for a traffic stop. He was transported to the county jail due to deputies being tied up on a domestic violence call on U.S. Route 62.

– A resident of Elberon Avenue reported identity theft at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, saying that her social security number was used to file an income tax return and she was blocked from filing her income tax due to the number already being used by someone. The IRS and Federal Trade Commission and local credit companies were notified.

– A bus driver for the Columbiana County Educational Service Center reported at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday that while she was traveling southbound on South Lincoln Avenue around 7 a.m. and stopped at the railroad tracks with her flashing hazard lights on, a green Ford truck passed the bus.

LISBON

– A driver and his passenger were charged with unrelated offenses following a traffic stop on Monday afternoon on Saltwell Road. The driver, James W. Straight, was charged with speeding and driving under suspension. His passenger, Joshua Hoover, 29, Brown Street, was charged with possessing instruments of drug abuse and tampering with evidence. Hoover is accused of possessing two hypodermic needles he tried to hide behind the front tire of the van parked in the county municipal court parking lot. He also allegedly threw two spoons with heroin residue onto the curb lawn next to the van.

COLUMBIANA

– Three kids were arrested for curfew violation on North Main Street at 1:42 a.m. Monday. They were later released to their parents.

– A woman reported at 8:27 a.m. Monday a semi was blocking the road at Reichards Industries on Fairfield Avenue for about 20 minutes. Police checked and found the semi had a wide load and was getting ready to leave the company and was only partially blocking the roadway. Highway patrol troopers were also providing an escort and there were no problems.

– Police conducted a welfare check on a Springfield Road resident at 11:34 a.m. Monday and found no problems.

– A North Main Street woman reported at 11:55 a.m. Monday a gold car with men inside appeared to be following her when she was trying to walk in the park toward the walking trail and they kept turning around and doubling back wherever she was going. Police checked and found the men were delivering phone books and appeared to be lost and were checking a map. The men admitted they had passed the woman a few times.

– Sasha Love, South Main Street, reported at 11:56 a.m. Monday someone stole an X-Box from her home.

– Mary Welsh of Leetonia reported at 3:10 p.m. Monday her daughter’s ex-boyfriend was following her car and trying to make her go off the road. Police spoke with the juvenile and no charges have been filed.

– Gary Blosser, Howard Avenue, reported at 4 p.m. Monday a black Impala with Pennsylvania plates kept driving down Southern Avenue between Howard and Woodland avenue. The driver was a white man with glasses and short brown hair whom he has seen in that area before watching kids play basketball. Police checked the area but the vehicle was gone.

– Linda Cope of Cope Associates consulted with police at 5 p.m. Monday regarding and eviction notice on state Route 14.

– Police received several calls at 8 p.m. Monday about a black Ram pickup and small red SUV racing or chasing each other in the area of Fairfield, Howard and Southern avenues. Police checked the area but did not see the vehicles.

– A woman reported at 10:14 p.m. Monday someone was driving recklessly in a gold Cavalier westbound on state Route 14 and going left of center and speeding. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– A Col-Pump employee reported at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday someone took off in a white older 1990s model full-size Chevy pickup after attempting to steal scrap, although it was unknown if they had actually taken anything. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– Tom Frost of North Jackson reported at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday items he had consigned to Larry Deidrick’s online auction business have never been paid for even after several attempts to contact him.

– Marilyn Swope, Fairfield School Road, reported identity theft at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday.

– A woman reported at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday someone in a gray Pontiac was driving recklessly on state Route 14. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– An officer assisted Washingtonville police with a verbal domestic dispute on High Street at 1:08 a.m. April 9.

– An officer responded to an Elm Street home at 3:08 p.m. April in reference to someone to be removed.

– An officer was dispatched to the high school parking lot for a vehicle crash at 2:48 p.m. April 11.

– An officer responded to a 200 block Oak Street home for a burglary report at 3:42 p.m. April 11.

– An officer assisted Washingtonville police with a fight at a Chris Avenue apartment at 1:46 a.m. Friday.

– An officer responded to a report of breaking and entering in the 300 block of Somer Street at 4:26 p.m. Saturday.

– A Betz Road woman responded to the station at 10:28 p.m. Saturday to file a report from messages from her husband.

– A Butcher Road resident reported a damaged mailbox at 3:20 a.m. Monday.

SALEM

– Gerald Kastenhuber, of Monroe Street, reported at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday that his vehicle was broken into Monday night and the GPS was stolen.

– A barking dog was reported at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue. The owner was contacted and said the kids let the dog out and forgot to bring it back in. She took the dog inside.

– A fight was reported at 12:57 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Aetna Street. Police learned there was no physical altercation, but officers were told by dispatch that a gun may be involved. The resident said his cousin was on his way over to fight with the next door neighbor. The neighbors told officers there was no gun involved and that the cousin, who was not there, started the dispute over texting.

– A woman reported dogs running at large in the 600 block of Olive Street at 8:29 p.m. Monday, saying it’s an ongoing issue with the same two dogs. She went to the owner’s residence and told them to come and get their dogs and the male owner came to her property and started to yell vulgar words in front of her grandson. She doesn’t want him on her property anymore. The dogs were inside when officers spoke to the owner and he was told not to go on the neighbor’s property anymore. He was also told to keep his dogs on his property or he’ll face charges. He said there were two other dogs that resemble his that also run around the neighborhood.

– A man on West Wilson Street called at 7:59 p.m. Monday to report ongoing problems with a known person sending harassing messages via snapchat and posting harassing messages via Facebook.

– A juvenile reported two known people followed her along Mullins Street, South Ellsworth Avenue and Aetna Street at 7:35 p.m. Monday. At least one of the people in the vehicle allegedly made a vulgar hand motion toward her.

– Police were dispatched to the parking lot of Taco Bell on East State Street at 7:27 p.m. Monday for a report of several children not properly restrained in a green Dodge Caravan. Police made contact and a female said they were going to go inside the restaurant, then decided to go through the drive-thru instead. She said the children were putting on their restraints as they were going around the building. Police observed that all the children were properly restrained.

– Police were called at 6:37 p.m. Monday for a wire in the road on West Perry Street near Granite Avenue. An officer found a broken telephone wire in the front yard of the residence in the 800 block and placed it around the pole. A resident said she called the phone company two days ago about the wire.

– A woman reported at 6:28 p.m. Monday that her son found a bicycle at Centennial Park and brought it home. The bicycle was taken to the police department.

– A man called at 6:10 p.m. Monday to report finding a light bar in the front yard of a residence in the 600 block of Jennings Avenue. It was placed in lost and found.

-Police were called to Waterworth Memorial Park at 4:58 p.m. Monday for a report of a man hitting golf balls in the direction of a youth ball game in the area. An officer spoke to the man and told him there’s no problem with him practicing his golf swing at the parks but also told him he can’t hit balls anywhere in the direction of others using the park. He was leaving for the evening.

– Daniel Yarian, 44, of Alliance, was cited for assured clear distance after his eastbound pickup in the 800 block of West State Street struck the rear of a Chevy Tracker driven by Paul Salvino, 58, of U.S. Route 62, who slowed for traffic at 3:54 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.

– A vehicle owned by Karen Shaw was parked in Maurice’s parking lot on East State Street at 10:54 a.m. Monday when a witness saw another vehicle back into it. The young female driver looked at the damage and left without making an attempt to contact the owner. At 3:40 p.m., the 17-year-old driver and her mother came to the police station and the girl admitted to backing into the other vehicle. Her information was obtained. No citations were issued.

PERRY TWP.

– Chad Markwell, 25, of Oyster Road, Alliance, was cited for a red light violation after failing to stop for a red light at the intersection of U.S. Route 62/state Route 45 and West State Street and colliding with another vehicle driven by Sara Charleston, 26, of West State Street, Alliance, at 9:11 p.m. Monday.

– A barking dog was reported at 6:29 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Benton Road. The owners were told to keep the dog quiet.

– Police spoke with an anonymous woman at 5:54 p.m. Monday regarding the speed limit in the area of Jackson Avenue and Ohio Avenue due to the speed limit not being posted. The speed limit was explained to her.

– Police responded at 5:55 p.m. Monday to the 1800 block of Prospect Street for a report of suspected narcotics paraphernalia being found. Police took possession of the used syringe and disposed of it properly.

– A woman in the 1600 block of North Lincoln Avenue reported at 5:27 p.m. Monday that sometime over the weekend, the tire on her vehicle was slashed and there were inappropriate drawings on the sides of the vehicle. She said the neighbors had something similar happen to them two weeks ago. The incident is under investigation.

– An officer spoke with a woman from East 11th Street at the police station regarding a jewelry theft. After a short investigation, police found the woman’s son and friend pawned the ring at a local business. She was told her options for retrieving the ring.

– The Portage County Sheriff’s Office advised Perry Township Police, the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol Lisbon post that a female who has dementia was driving around the Salem area lost. Police were able to locate her on Salem Grange Road in the 35000 block through On Star which was pinging the vehicle. The family was contacted and responded to pick her up.

– Officers attempted to locate a suspicious person behind a closed business in the 100 block of Benton Road at 2:59 a.m. Monday, but no one was found. The business was secure.

– An officer on patrol at 1:58 a.m. Monday found the windshield broken on a red Mercury in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue. The officer went to a nearby residence and spoke with a woman but couldn’t receive sufficient information due to a language barrier. She relayed that the damage was caused earlier by a large brick.

– A burglary in progress was reported at 11:10 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of East Third Street, but was determined to be a misunderstanding.

– A woman in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 10:50 p.m. Sunday that her lock box had been opened and property removed. Missing items included a ring, personal documents and money.

– Police responded to the intersection of South Broadway and East Pershing Street at 10:42 p.m. Sunday for a street sign in the road. The street department had already been notified.

– Officers on patrol at 10:37 p.m. Sunday saw fresh marks on the pavement at the city service garage, followed the marks and found a cement statue had been left behind the garage. The street department will be contacted to see if anyone had permission to dump the item there.

– A domestic was reported at 9:06 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue where police learned it was a verbal dispute. Both parties were told their options.

– A caller at 7:47 p.m. Sunday reported a vehicle parked illegally on Cleveland Street. The owner was contacted and moved the vehicle.

– A resident in the 400 block of Washington Avenue reported at 6:33 p.m. Sunday that she believed a home care worker stole one of her prescription bottles that had just been filled.

– Officers on patrol at 5:56 p.m. Sunday saw a large area of smoke in the 1800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue and located the source at the rear of a residence on Ellsworth. It was determined to be a legal fire.

– An officer on patrol heard an audible alarm coming from a vehicle at 5:32 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West State Street. It was determined to be a rental vehicle in a business lot. The vehicle was secure.

– Police and KLG Ambulance responded to the 1300 block of Pembrooke Drive for a medical emergency at 9:11 a.m. Sunday. Police assisted KLG on scene with the victim, who was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG.

– David Callahan, 68, of Liberty Street, Salem, was cited for a red light violation after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 45 (Pidgeon Road) had a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by Dean Weingart, 50 , of Cardington, who was southbound on Depot Road and had a green light at 8:11 a.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported.

– Toby Gray, 42, of Hanoverton, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, open container and speeding after a stop at 2:41 a.m. Saturday.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street for a possible break-in reported at 7:46 p.m. Friday. A resident reported someone took the screen window out of his window sill and cut part of the screen, then placed it inside the unlocked storage shed. Nothing else was broken or missing from the residence.

– Police directed traffic on Goshen Road while Perry Township firefighters extinguished a small unattended fire behind a residence on Goshen Road. at 3:49 p.m. Friday.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol requested a check on a white truck with a cab at the intersection of U.S. Route 62/state Route 45 and West State Street due to a man slumped over the wheel at 11:29 a.m. Friday. The vehicle was not found.

– Police were called at 7:29 a.m. Friday to the 1100 block of West Perry Street for an alleged assault. An officer spoke to two people involved and learned it was a domestic and an assault allegedly took place. The information will be sent to the prosecutor’s officer for review for possible charges.

– An officer at 12:46 a.m. Friday saw a boxer type dog running loose in the parking lot of Stephanie’s Salon and Spa. The officer made contact with someone in the area who said the dog appeared in the parking lot in the morning and had not left. The area humane officer was contacted and responded to take the animal.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

– A 10000 block Middletown Road resident reported at 12:22 a.m. April 13 that he had been receiving phone calls from two individuals making derogatory comments about his girlfriend.

– A 15000 block Middletown Road resident reported at 10:21 a.m. April 13 that someone had damaged the wood trim around her screen door.

– Police responded to a theft report at the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 10:23 a.m. April 13.

– Police investigated an animal complaint in the 17000 block of Fairview Avenue in Beloit at 1 p.m. April 13.

– Police responded to a juvenile complaint in the 9000 block of U.S. Route 62 at 2:22 a.m. April 14.

– A Goshen Road juvenile reported at 4 p.m. April 14 that her stepfather had grabbed her by the throat.

– Police responded to an 11000 block Seacrist Road home at noon April 15 where a woman reported her father had called her and threatened to harm himself. The father was transported by EMS to the hospital for evaluation.

– Police responded to stolen vehicle report in the 14000 block of state Route 165 at 5:47 a.m. April 16.

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 2:40 p.m. April 16 for a resident trying to harm herself. She was transported by EMS to the hospital.

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 4:10 p.m. April 16 where a man was reportedly demanding samples of medication. He was warned to leave the property and told not to return.

– Police responded to a Redwood Street, Beloit, home at 3:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a woman leaving her children home alone all weekend. Children Services responded to investigate the complaint.

COLUMBIANA

– James R. Zimmerman, 19, Columbiana, was cited for two brake lights required and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Metz Road at 12:42 a.m. Sunday.

– A man reported at 2 a.m. Sunday a teenage boy was walking down Old state Route 14.

– Jamie Sandine, Seventh Street, reported at 8:22 a.m. Sunday her friend Derica Johns had spent the night and she wanted him to leave and he wouldn’t. Shortly after she reported he had left.

– Brian Frederick requested at 11:57 a.m. Sunday police accompany him to pick up his son as his mother was causing problems. It was found Frederick was driving under suspension and he was cited.

– Police responded to a fire alarm at 2:12 p.m. Sunday at Parkside Nursing Home. It was found a child had pulled the alarm and there were no problems.

LISBON

– Police were called to the Allay Care Center on March 29 in regard to an elderly male patient biting nurses and urinating everywhere, and the ambulance crew called to transport him to the hospital also requested assistance. The man had calmed down by the time police arrived and he agreed to go with the ambulance crew.

– An officer assisted a sheriff’s deputy in attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Pritchard Avenue Extension on March 29. They arrived at 8 p.m. but only found the person’s daughter at home.

– Paul Preston reported that a mother was looking for her 2-year-old child who was missing in the area of East Chestnut and Vine streets at 8:33 a.m. Thursday. The mother, Christy Armstrong, had found the boy by the time police arrived and he was in the neighbor’s yard playing with toys. Armstrong said she left the child on the couch to watch TV with another person while she took a shower, and when she came down he was gone and the door was open.

– Police found clothes discarded on West Lincoln Way at 11:33 p.m. Friday, which they removed from the roadway. The officers then encountered Robert J. Davis III, 28, walking from the Night Court and asked him if he knew anything about the clothes and if he lived in front of where they were found. Davis reportedly began waving his arms and yelling at the officers and shouting obscenities, telling the officers to take him to jail because he had no where to live and at least he could get fed there. Police obliged and arrested Davis for disorderly conduct after he refused to calm down despite being told to do so.

– Dan Lucido called from the post office, asking to speak with an officer at 12:17 p.m. Saturday. Lucido said he just left the American Boarding Home, where he resides, and was not feeling well. An ambulance was summoned to transport him to the hospital in Salem.

– Don Lucido showed at the Rite Aid at 6:21 p.m. Sunday asking for ambulance, and police arrived and stayed until an ambulance arrived.

– Theren Pearson is believed to have had a seizure while pulling into a parking space on East Lincoln Way at 8 p.m. Sunday, stepping on the accelerator instead of the brake and striking the building. He was not seriously injured but was transported to the hospital in Salem.

– Police were called at 11:29 a.m. Sunday to a fight in progress in the 400 block of Euclid St. where a man reported he was walking his dog when an unknown male driving by stopped and asked if he had a problem, then began pushing him. Then the male told him he was having a bad holiday and apologized. He didn’t want to press charges.

– Police responded to SuperUSA, 1680 S. Lincoln Ave., for a report of one to be removed at 10:28 a.m. Sunday. An officer spoke to a man who said he would leave.

– Matthew McNemar, 31, of 241 W. Pershing St., was cited for reasonable control and no seat belt after his vehicle traveled off of the right side of West Wilson Street while eastbound and struck a utility pole at 5:42 a.m. Sunday. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG. The report said the driver was distracted by a phone.

-A woman in the 300 block of West Fourth Street reported at 5:21 a.m. Sunday that her ex-boyfriend showed up at her front door and looked inside the storm door wanting her to go outside and talk with him. She shut the door and a minute later she began to hear knocking on her bedroom window. A short time later, she heard her bedroom window break. An officer located the suspect in the Sparkle Market parking lot and he denied the allegations. The report will be sent to the prosecutor for review.

– Police were called at 3:37 a.m. Sunday to the 1200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue for a report of two people exiting and running from a business. A resident said two people had entered the business and were still inside. Officers made contact with an employee and a juvenile who were both taken into custody after both allegedly admitted to drinking. Getty L. Darin, 20, whose addresses were listed on North Ellsworth Avenue and Maple Street, and the juvenile were each charged with underage consumption and released to parents.

– A caller at 3:09 a.m. Sunday reported possible shots fired in the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue. Police discovered someone attempted to shoot out a security light.

– Tiffany Winkler, 28, of 1185 Cleveland St., was charged with fictitious plates/failure to transfer and a minor misdemeanor of possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at 2:05 a.m. Sunday at East Third Street and Hawley Avenue.

– Police were called at 12:59 a.m. Sunday to Speedway, 175 W. State St., for one to be removed from the business. The person left without incident.

– Davon Johnson, 28, of Youngstown, was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant out of Trumbull County for fraud after a traffic stop at 12:18 a.m. Sunday in the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Fifth Street. Police had been called about a possible intoxicated driver and initiated a traffic stop for an alleged equipment violation. Police determined the driver was not intoxicated. Johnson was the passenger.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Family Video parking lot, 120 N. Lincoln Ave., at 12:11 a.m. Sunday, but left before police arrived.

– Officers on patrol saw a stop sign down on the northwest corner of South Broadway and East Pershing Street at 11:15 p.m. Saturday. Officers observed that a vehicle apparently went off of the road, hit a tree and left the scene.

– A reckless driver was reported at 10:55 p.m. Saturday in the Walmart parking lot on East State Street. Police located the vehicle and followed it for several blocks, but saw no violations.

– A reckless driver was reported at 10:50 p.m. Saturday in the area of Maple and Washington, with the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and swerving. The vehicle could not be located.

– A suspicious person was reported at 10:15 p.m. Saturday at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St. Officers spoke with two people and told them they could not stay.

– A possible alarm was reported at 8:32 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue. Police checked the area, but couldn’t hear any alarm.

– An officer assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office in checking several locations in the city for people wanted on warrants at 6:53 p.m. Saturday. Deputies placed two city residents in custody and took them to the county jail.

– Police were called at 5:35 p.m. Saturday to the 600 block of Fair Avenue for a stand-by at the request of Columbia Gas. An officer remained until the utility worker completed his task.

– Juveniles were reported playing on the roof of a baseball dugout at Waterworth Memorial Park at 5:06 p.m. Saturday. The juveniles were found and told to stay off.

– A resident in the 1100 block of East Third Street called police at 3:57 p.m. Saturday to report seeing three people go to the rear side door of a neighbor’s house. He thought they might be inside. Officers checked all entrances and windows and all were secure. Another neighbor said the three people were there, but did not enter and left before police arrived.

– A bank card found in the city was turned over to police at 3:43 p.m. Saturday. Another card found at 1:25 p.m. Saturday was also placed in lost and found.

– Fred Liggitt, 65, of 2406 Kennedy Drive, was cited for assured clear distance after his vehicle struck the rear a vehicle driven by Willard Holzer, 62, of Columbiana, on East State Street near Wendy’s at 12:59 p.m. Saturday.

– A woman from Crestview Road reported at 11:27 a.m. Saturday that she was assaulted by an unknown female early Friday morning after she stopped at a Salem residence to see a friend and ask if he could fix her car.

– Diana M. Adams, 37, East Liverpool, was cited with driving under suspension and failure to dim high beams following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at 12:33 a.m. Saturday.

– Kara Glick, Fairfield School Road, reported at 9:28 a.m. Saturday an opossum had been in her front yard since Friday. The animal had not moved much and appeared sick. Police deemed the animal sick and dispatched it.

– Someone reported at 11 a.m. Saturday a railing along the bridge on Camelot Drive fell into the creek. The street department was contacted to put up a temporary barricade until the railing could be replaced.

– A suspicious person was reported at 11:07 a.m. Saturday where what appeared to be a bulletproof vest while walking around Firestone Park. It was determined it may have been a weight vest for running.

– Jean Klem, Youngstown, was backing from a parking space in Village Plaza at 11:42 a.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle being driven by Carrie Pilcher of Canfield. Damage was minor.

– Wilma Hill, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 12:42 p.m. Saturday she lost her wallet while pumping gas at Marathon.

– Julie Borelli, Columbiana, reported at 2:27 p.m. Saturday her vehicle was damaged, possibly while it was in the parking lot at Hair Haven.

– A man gave police a debit card from Huntington Bank at 9:15 p.m. Saturday. The card belonged to Barbara Hostetter. Police went to her home and she was able to describe the card and where she thought she lost it. It was returned to her.

– A reckless driver was reported southbound on state Route 164 at 10:12 p.m. Saturday. Police followed the vehicle all the way from the circle to the driver’s home on Camelot, but saw no driving violations.

– An officer on patrol at 11:39 a.m. Saturday saw a vehicle in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue with the window shattered and a large piece of cement laying on the hood.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., reported at 10:15 a.m. Saturday that someone left without paying, but the officer was told on arrival that the person mistakenly drove off and returned to pay.

– Three intoxicated people were reported yelling and stumbling into the road in the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 3:05 a.m. Saturday. They were not found.

– A possible theft was reported at the entrance to Walmart, East State Street, at 2:51 a.m. Saturday. The responding officer was told to check for a man pushing a cart full of merchandise that he didn’t pay for before leaving. He was not found. The manager did not want to pursue it since what was taken was not known.

– Amanda Shirey, 28, of 1962 Cleveland St., was charged with domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor, after police were called to the residence on Cleveland Street at 2:33 a.m. Saturday. Police spoke with both parties and found physical violence occurred, with Shirey determined to be the primary aggressor. She was taken to the Columbiana County jail.

– A dispute was reported at 12:15 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where a man reported he’s separated from his wife and she showed up at his apartment pounding on his door. She was reportedly intoxicated. He said they’ve been separated since December and her name is not on the lease, but an officer told him they’re still married and she has a legal right to be there.

-A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in the middle of the road on Hickory Lane at 11:08 p.m. Friday, but left before police arrived.

-Police responded to Burger King, 1761 E. State St., for a call at 9:52 p.m. Friday of drug paraphernalia. The item was recovered by police.

– A 15-year-old girl was taken into custody for two counts of delinquency and taken to the Tobin juvenile detention center after police were called at 9:39 p.m. Friday for an assault at a business in the 500 block of East Pershing Street. Police spoke with the juvenile victim and witnesses and had been told the suspect left the building. The victim was taken to the Salem Regional Medical Center and the suspect was found outside of the business at 520 E. Pershing St.

– Police were called at 9 p.m. Friday to the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue for juveniles playing basketball in the road. They were told to stay in the driveway when playing.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot at Legacy Lane at 7:50 p.m. Friday, but was not found.

– Loud people were reported at 7:42 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of East Third Street. Contact was made and they were told to keep the noise down.

– A set of keys was found in the area of the post office on Penn Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Friday and taken to the police department.

– Police were called to Salem Regional Medical Center on East State Street at 5:39 p.m. Friday for a report of an alleged assault. A woman claimed that while she was being transported to the hospital for a medical issue, she was assaulted in the ambulance by an ambulance service employee. She was told to fill out a written statement and drop it off at the police station after she’s discharged. An officer was going to contact the ambulance service employee.

– Police responded at 5:09 p.m. Friday to speak with a woman about her electric meter. She was told it’s a civil matter and was provided some options.

– A caller at 4:49 p.m. Friday reported people in the bed of a pickup causing a disturbance at Centennial Park. An officer saw people in the bed of a truck with the music turned up. They were told to turn it down.

– Rudy Hrovatic, 68, of Gromley Road, was cited for improper backing after allegedly backing into a legally parked car owned by Emily Mitchell, of East Perry Street, at 4:30 p.m. Friday on East Perry Street.

– A 17-year-old West 10th Street girl was cited for assured clear distance after her vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by James McNeal, 70, of Homewood Avenue, who was stopped at a stop light in the 800 block of East State Street at 4 p.m. Friday.

– Pamela Yuhanick, 55, of Brooklyn Avenue, was cited for assured clear distance after her vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Randy Weber, 49, of East Palestine, at 2:05 p.m. Friday on East State Street at Southeast Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

– Police were called at 11:21 a.m. Friday to the Salem Plaza on East State Street for a report of menacing/threats. Officers spoke to both people involved and ensured they understood not to taunt each other anymore.

– Police were dispatched at 10:54 a.m. Friday to the 400 block of Franklin Street for a male juvenile stabbing a telephone pole with a knife. Officers found several juveniles in the area. One boy said he had a pocket knife he found in the street a few days ago. He turned it over and was told the consequences and dangers of carrying knives. The knife was placed in lost and found.

– A lawn care company was reported blocking the road in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Aetna Street at 10:23 a.m. Friday, but nothing was found.

– A woman in the 900 block of Prospect Street reported at 9:56 a.m. Friday that someone known to her opened utilities in the her name. The case is under investigation.

– A clerk at Murphy USA, 2869 E. State St., reported at 8:52 a.m. Friday that someone driving a purple Mercury sedan left without paying for $15 in gas.

– A person was reported throwing rocks at a window in the 600 block of Park Avenue at 8:48 a.m. Friday. When police arrived, the person had entered the residence to try to retrieve his property and there was an argument. He agreed to get his belongings and leave.

– Police were called at 3:20 p.m. Thursday for a report of kids riding a dirt bike/ATV in the 400 block of Franklin Street. An officer spoke to several kids in the area and was told they were only riding their bikes on the road.

– Police were called at 2:12 p.m. Thursday to the Walmart parking lot on East State Street for a report of solicitation. A male was seen holding a sign asking for money. He told police he was trying to make his way back to New York. He was told he’s not allowed to solicit and that he needed to move on.

– A woman in the 400 block of Franklin Street reported at 11:55 a.m. Thursday that someone wrote obscenities on the side window of her residence.

SALEM TWP. REPORTS

– Samuel Camp Jr., of state Route 45, Leetonia, reported at 2:28 p.m. Saturday that someone stole several pieces of steel beam from another property on state Route 45 where he keeps material. The beams were valued at more than $1,000. Anyone with information should contact Constable Dan Valentine.

– Martin McFarland, Teegarden Road, Salem, reported at 12:24 p.m. Friday that sometime within the past two days, someone stole the generator from his attached garage. He said the generator is used to power the oxygen machine for a family member during power outages. The incident is under investigation.

COLUMBIANA REPORTS

– Brenda Palmer, Hawkins Lane, reported at 1:41 a.m. Friday the garage door was opened. All items appeared secured.

– An injured deer was reported in front of Columbiana High School at 4:26 a.m. Friday. The deer got up and ran away as the officer spotted it.

– John Kufleitner, owner of Columbiana Dodge, reported at 9:10 a.m. Friday an elderly male appeared disoriented and lost as he was driving around in the parking lot. The man thought he was in New York, and did not know his way back to his residence in Middleburg Heights, where he was escorted back by an auxiliary officer. An officer spoke with the man’s nephew, who resides in Cincinnati, and arrived at the station around 8:18 p.m. to pick up the keys to man’s car.

– A verbal dispute between a man and woman was reported at the Burger King/Taco Bell lot at 1:59 p.m. Friday. Officers spoke with Frederick Porter and Heather Brightwell, Newton Falls, Pa., who said they had an argument after being inside the vehicle together for too long.

– Panhandling was reported in front of Pizza Hut on state Route 14 at 5 p.m. Friday. An officer spoke with Christina Parent, Canton, who was not in violation of ordinances.

– A green iPod with a case was turned in at 6:03 p.m. Friday.

– A woman reported at 4:04 p.m. Thursday that someone at her place of employment had slapped her hand earlier in the week for doing something incorrectly.

– A 1200 block Monroe Street resident reported at 4:31 p.m. Thursday that someone had damaged the walls of his home while he was away a few days.

– Police responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 5 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious man loitering near a business. The man said he was waiting for a ride and agreed to wait elsewhere.

– Police responded to the 100 block of Ohio Avenue at 5:38 p.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious person in a parking lot. The man said he was waiting for a ride and would be leaving soon.

– Police responded to a report of someone riding a go-cart in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 6:20 p.m. Thursday but were unable to find anyone.

– Robert J. Halfhill, 3251 New Waterford Road, New Waterford, was arrested for theft at 6:50 p.m. Thursday after he allegedly stole a bottle of liquor from an East State Street business.

– Police responded to an East Fifth Street home at 7:02 p.m Thursday for a report of juveniles possibly using narcotics. Officers spoke with the juveniles and found nothing suspicious.

– An officer spoke with a man in the 100 block of Washington Avenue at 8:20 p.m. Thursday who said he had been walking home when some kids took some money from him, but that he didn’t want to pursue the matter.

– Police responded to the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 8:50 p.m. Thursday for a report of several juveniles behaving oddly but were unable to find anyone.

– Extra patrol was requested in the 1100 block of East State Street after someone reported a suspicious man hanging around a store at 8:53 p.m. Thursday.

– An officer responded to the 1000 block of East Sixth Street at 9:38 p.m. Thursday where a resident reported seeing a woman in dark clothing run from a residence he believed to be vacant. The woman said that she owned the home and was leaving to meet a friend. The home was confirmed to belong to the woman.

– Police responded to the area of Franklin and Maple streets at 12:16 a.m. Friday for a report of an intoxicated yelling man and found him running along South Lincoln Avenue north of Franklin. He admitted to having a few drinks and yelling. He was provided a ride to his grandmother’s where he was staying.

– Ramiero Campa Jr., 27, Huntsville, Texas, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated, no driver’s license, obstructing official business and reckless operation following a traffic stop on South Ellsworth Avenue at 1:34 a.m. Friday in which he gave officers a false identity.

– Police responded to a Cedar Ridge Drive home at 2:15 a.m. Friday where the resident reported hearing what sounded like someone trying to enter the rear door. Officers found nothing suspicious.

COLUMBIANA

Staci Bailey, Leetonia, was eastbound on state Route 14 approaching state Route 7 at 10:48 a.m. Thursday and was rear-ended by Alina Gilliland of Bessemer, Pa. Gilliland was cited for assured clear distance.

– A Fairfield Animal Hospital employee reported at 11:25 a.m. Thursday a bad check was written by Kimberly Carolyne of North Lima. The check for $84.80 was turned over to police.

-Roger Mincks of Leetonia was southwest on Springfield Road at 12:59 p.m. Thursday and at the stop sign for state Route 14 when Lynn Brown of Washingtonville was northeast on Springfield Road crossing state Route 14 and turned and struck Mincks and continued westbound. Brown was cited for lanes of travel and driving under suspension.

-James Shingleton of Rogers was southbound on North Main Street at 2 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle in front of him that stopped abruptly. The elderly woman, name and address not obtained, agreed there was no damage to her vehicle and left the scene. No citation was issued.

A woman reported at 2:30 p.m. Thursday her daughter was being harassed on the school bus. The matter is being investigated by the school and its resource officer.

– A man reported at 5:49 p.m. Thursday there were two small children unattended in the backseat of a vehicle in the Family Video parking lot. Police checked but the vehicle was already gone.

– A man reported at 7 p.m. Thursday a woman was holding a sign for money near the state Route 14 and 46 intersection. Police found she was not in violation of any city laws.

PERRY TWP.

– Julia Michele Landon, 23, 29549 U.S. Route 62 Lot 209, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear following a traffic stop in the 1100 block of state Route 9 at 11:44 a.m. Thursday.

– Police responded to a Prospect Street home at 1:21 p.m. Thursday where a man reported someone had removed an electrical box from the basement of the foreclosed home.

– Police responded to a Country Club Lane home at 9:12 p.m. Thursday for a report of a neighbor running heavy machinery. The neighbor said the work would be completed soon. The officer reminded the neighbor about the township’s noise laws.

– A Prospect Street Extension resident reported unwanted text messages from a known person at 9:14 p.m. Thursday. The suspect claimed the resident had also sent text messages. They were both told to stop communication.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– Police responded at 10:02 a.m. Thursday to the 200 block of Meadow Lane to assist Perry Township Police with juveniles shooting BB guns. They were located in a back yard and township officers spoke with the juveniles and the mother, who said they were shooting in the woods. The area was checked and no damage was found.

– An officer on patrol at 9:35 a.m. Thursday on Lexington Avenue saw a front door wide open at a residence. The residence was checked and the door secured by the officer.

– A barking dog was reported at Newgarden Avenue and Liberty Street at 7:51 a.m. Thursday. All was quiet when police arrived. A boy was outside walking two small dogs on leashes and they started barking at the responding officer. He was told to keep the dogs quiet in the future.

– An audible alarm was reported at 5:42 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of East Third Street. The building appeared secure, but an officer found a delivery truck in the parking lot and learned the delivery person opened the door, causing the alarm to go off.

– An audible alarm was reported at 4:55 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of East Second Street. The building was secure from the outside. A keyholder arrived and the interior was checked and also found secure.

– Police responded to an alarm at 4:25 a.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Southeast Boulevard, finding a window open, but all doors secure.

-Robert L. McMaster, 45, of 7443 Spillway Road, Lisbon, was charged with driving under suspension and being a fugitive from justice after a traffic stop at 2:46 a.m. Thursday in the area of Hawley Avenue and East Fourth Street. The operator had a suspended driver’s license and police also found an active warrant out of Beaver County, Pa., for failure to appear on a theft by unlawful taking of movable property charge. He was taken into custody and taken to the Columbiana County jail.

– Gerald DiPanfilo, 61, of 1130 E. Pershing St., was charged with a stop sign violation and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 1:26 a.m. Thursday on East Fourth Street. After the stop sign citation was issued, the driver gave consent to search the vehicle and contraband was recovered. DiPanfilo was charged, given a recognizance bond, and released.

– Police were called at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday to Circle K West, 780 W. State St., for a report of a young male and female leaving without paying for merchandise. The suspects were located and identified as juveniles, with the store manager saying charges would not be pursued if they returned to pay for the items. Both juveniles were returned to the business by a family member and paid for the items. Both apologized for their actions and were told not to come back.

– Police responded at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday to the 600 block of Cedar Street for a parking complaint about a vehicle parked in the road. The vehicle was found in a no parking zone, the operator was notified and the vehicle was moved to a driveway.

– A suspicious male was reported knocking on car windows and asking people for money and food at Quaker Village, 201 S. Lincoln Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday. He left on foot and was located on State Street near Park Avenue where he said he was having medical problems and needed an ambulance. Fire department first responders and KLG came to the scene and he was taken by KLG to Salem Regional Medical Center.

– An officer responded to the parking lot of Family Video in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue after receiving a call at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday to check the well-being of a mentally-impaired person struggling with his caregivers. The caregivers told the officer everything was okay. They calmed the person down.

– A possible overdose was reported at 6:12 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of West 16th Street where a person visiting a residence reportedly took some prescription medication. Fire department first responders and EMT Ambulance responded and the person was able to walk to the ambulance and was taken to the hospital.

– Possible fraud was reported at 5:39 p.m. Wednesday by a resident in the 500 block of Franklin Street. The woman said a man she knows offered to sell her a television but never brought the television after receiving the money. She was told her options. An officer planned to follow up with the man.

– A resident in the 200 block of Rose Avenue reported at 4:32 p.m. Wednesday that an unknown male knocked on the door Tuesday evening asking for money. A description was provided and the person was told to call police if he returns.

– Possible fraud was reported at 4:18 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of East Fourth Street. A woman reported receiving a suspicious phone call and said she may have given out sensitive material. She was told her options and the matter will be looked into further.

LISBON

– A truck driver escaped injury on April 10 when his load shifted and the steel bars he was hauling punctured the rear side of the cab. Steven A. Hardy Jr., 24, of Engadine, Conn., was driving on state Route 154 in the afternoon when he hit the brakes after the vehicle in front of him passed the vehicle in front of it. The semi’s brakes locked up, causing the load to shift. Hardy was cited for having an unsecure load.

– Elizabeth M. Law, 50, of Elkins, W.Va., was cited for running a red light, striking a vehicle driven by Glen A. Custer, 36, Malone Road, Salineville. The accident occurred 5:18 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Lincoln Way and Market Street.

COLUMBIANA

– Police went to the area of Salem and Main streets at 5 p.m. Wednesday and spoke with Christina Parent of Canton who was panhandling there. Parent told police she researched the area and found there were no ordinances against panhandling. Police told her it would be best for her to move along anyway.

-Bruce Trayes of Columbiana was arrested for failure to pay city income tax at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at the police station.

– A boy was taken in custody and released to his parents after police went to a report of a fight at Funland in Firestone Park at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

– A man reported at 11 p.m. Wednesday a silver Ford was driving recklessly on North Main Street into town. Police checked but did not find the vehicle.

– Jack Sitler, Village Court, reported at 9:57 a.m. Tuesday someone filed an income tax return using his social security number.

– Tommy L. Weikart, 63, East Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was northbound on North Main at 12:17 p.m. Tuesday and was rear-ended by Tyler J. Guy, 29, Metz Road, Columbiana. Guy was cited for assured clear distance.

– Charges were filed Tuesday on Shane Johnson of Lisbon, Thomas and Lori Mercer of Columbiana, Richard Zawatski of Columbiana and Mark and Shari Mills of New Brighton, Pa., for failure to pay city income tax.

– Police responded to an alarm drop at Graft Electric at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday and found there were no problems but that employees were there having a class.

– The county sheriff’s office requested assistance at 6:54 p.m. Tuesday with an open door at Global Pak on Columbiana-Lisbon Road.

– A North Middle Street woman reported at 7 p.m. Tuesday a dog that lives on Sunset Court chased her daughter while she was riding her bicycle. Police checked a home on Sunset Court and was told the dogs belonged to someone who lived in the area of Allen and North Middle streets.

LISBON

– An employee at the county Educational Services Center reported Tuesday receiving a call from a man, who proceeded to use gross abusive language to describe the Leetonia school district. The caller did not make any threats, but the ESC staff wanted a report on file in case he showed up.

– John Hoyt reported there was reckless driver entering Lisbon from the north on North Market Street at 9:43 a.m. April 9 and almost struck another vehicle. Police caught up with the motorist in the downtown and the driver did not appear to be quite right. The driver said she just started some new medication that was making her drowsy. The woman was told she needed to call someone to pick her up.

– A West Washington Street man reported April 9 his neighbors keep coming on his property even after being told to stop. Police spoke with a neighbor and he agreed to stay off the property.

– Deb Short reported April 9 a 120-foot power cord was stolen from a concession stand at the county fairgrounds.

– A mental health worker was concerned about a client on West Lincoln Way. Police went to the residence at 11:13 p.m. April 10 and found the client sitting on the porch.

– Glenn Joseph, state Route 164, reportedly backed into a CARTS vehicle in the Morgan’s Drug Store parking lot at 11:28 a.m. Monday.

SALEM

– Reilly School personnel reported at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday that a ring was found on the playground. The ring was placed in the police lost and found.

– A resident reported at 1:02 p.m. Wednesday that someone backed over his bicycle while he was inside Speedway, 175 W. State St. The vehicle could not be found.

– A cashier for Super USA, 1680 S. Lincoln Ave., reported at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday that someone in a blue S-10 pickup pumped $8 worth of gas and left without paying. The vehicle wasn’t found.

– An anonymous caller at 10:39 a.m. Wednesday reported a domestic dispute in the city, with the person reporting the male half was about to put his hands on her so she called police after there had been an argument. She moved some things out while officers stood by briefly.

– A woman in the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue contacted police at 10:03 a.m. Wednesday about a possible scam, reporting she was hired for an entry level data position for a company out of state. She sent a check to the company for start-up costs, but found out the check she received from the company was not valid. She was told it’s a scam and to not send any more money.

– Police were called at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday to Cedar Ridge Drive for a possible break-in. Residents said someone was beating on the door trying to gain entry. No one was found, but officers noticed footprints on the sidewalk between the residence and the garage.

– A dog was reported at large at 2:24 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Ohio Avenue and East State Street, but was not found.

– A noise complaint was reported at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Fourth Street where a resident reported the upstairs neighbor pounding on the floor. The neighbor was told about the complaint and the resident was given options.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West Seventh Street where a man had been sitting in a parked vehicle for over 20 minutes. Police found that the person was working in the area for the Census Bureau.

– An officer spoke with a private investigator at 4:18 p.m. Tuesday regarding a request for police to accompany him to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street. He previously went to the business to review surveillance video and was told to bring a police officer with him when he returned. He was told the police department does not get involved in civil matters such as this due to the potential liability and that he would likely need a subpoena if the business declined to allow him to view the video.

– An officer on patrol at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday saw a parked car in a parking lot with a small child in a rear seat, the engine running and small dog in the front seat. When the officer approached the car, an older child was also in the car who was not seen at first. The mother came out and said the older child was 13 years old and watching the little girl. The report said the boy did not appear to be 13. The mother was told it was not a good idea to leave the children alone, especially with the engine running. The ignition should be off when unattended.

– Tony Yoralano, Roosevelt Ave., Salem, reported at 4:42 a.m. Wednesday that a deer ran into his car while he was northbound on North Lincoln Avenue at Parkview, causing damage to the front fender, hood, front bumper and headlight.

– James Sprague, 21, of 3316 McCracken Road, Salem, was cited for driving under non-compliance suspension after a traffic stop at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday on South Lincoln Avenue at Sterling House. The license plates were confiscated by order of the registrar and the vehicle towed.

– Joseph Messenger, 21, of 1133 Prospect St., Salem, was taken into custody on a warrant out of Columbiana County for child support after he turned himself in at the Perry Township police department on North Ellsworth Avenue at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday.

– A reckless driver was reported by Goshen Police on U.S. Route 62 from state Route 165 south into Perry Township at 3:08 p.m. Tuesday, but the vehicle was not found.

– Police were called at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday to the area of state Route 9 and Stewart Road for a semi tractor trailer causing a hazard on the road. The operator advised he ran out of fuel. Police assisted with traffic control while the operator had a friend take him to get fuel for the semi.

SALEM

– Linda K. Powell, 64, of 185 E. Fifth St., was charged with domestic violence after her sister, who resides at the same residence, came to the police station at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday to report being assaulted by her at their residence. She said they got into an argument over family matters and alleged that Powell shoved her to the floor. She had visible injuries to her nose where her glasses were shoved into her face and injuries to her knees. Officers responded to the residence on East Fifth Street and arrested Powell. She was taken to the Columbiana County jail pending an appearance in county Municipal Court.

– An officer responded at 11:17 a.m. Tuesday to the 600 block of Sharp Avenue to speak with a person about family issues.

– Police responded, along with firefighter first responders and KLG, to a medical call at 4:46 a.m. Tuesday on Monroe Avenue. Officers stood by while the fire department gained entry to the apartment. The male resident had fallen in the bedroom and was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG Ambulance.

– An officer on patrol at 1:17 a.m. Tuesday saw a man standing near the door of Quaker Village, 201 S. Lincoln Ave., which was closed. The officer learned the man was just waiting for a ride.

– An intoxicated person was reported in the area of Walmart, 2875 E. State St., at 11:45 p.m. Monday. The person was found in the area, but was not intoxicated and was just waiting for a friend.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 11:18 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue, but was not found.

– Two men in the 100 block of East Third Street contacted police at 10:07 p.m. Monday regarding telecommunications harassment. They showed officers text messages sent to them from another male who was threatening them. They were told to stop all communications with the other person and he was contacted on South Lundy Avenue and also told to stop all communications.

– A woman in the 900 block of West Pershing Street called at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday to report she returned home and found the front door open. The door had been shut and locked before she left. No items were missing or appeared disturbed. A chip of paint was knocked off the door frame.

– A woman on Aetna Street reported at 7:55 p.m. Monday that a man known to her rapidly accelerated his vehicle from an alley just east of her address and when she yelled at him, he flipped her off.

– An employee of Burger King, 1761 E. State St., contacted police at 8:39 p.m. Monday for a loitering report. Police responded and multiple people were told to clear the lot.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., reported at 8:37 p.m. Monday that an elderly man with an elderly female passenger pumped $20.07 worth of gas into a red Chevy Cruze and left without paying.

– A Salem woman at 8:21 p.m. Monday reported a reckless operator in a small red car accelerated extremely fast and almost hit her from behind and followed her southbound on South Lincoln Avenue. While she was speaking with an officer, she pointed out the vehicle as it turned northbound onto South Lincoln Avenue from a nearby lot. The vehicle was stopped and the driver said he may have been following too closely. The dangers were explained to him and both went their separate ways.

– A domestic dispute was reported Monday in the 400 block of South Broadway where a woman said her mother put her hands around her throat during an argument. The mother reported she was pushed and grabbed by her daughter. There were no marks on either party. The mother wanted the daughter to leave, but was told the landlord would have to evict her. Both were told to go to separate areas of the residence.

– A suspicious person was reported at 6:42 p.m. Monday at a condemned residence on Sharp Avenue. An officer made contact with the person, who was the resident and said he was told to vacate the property within 30 days. A city department was contacted and said he was to vacate the property over the past weekend. He was told to vacate it immediately and was given options.

– A reckless operator was reported on North Lincoln Avenue at East Third Street at 3:32 p.m. Monday, but was not found.

– A caller at 3:17 p.m. Monday reported a window open at a vacant house on Columbia Street. The building appeared empty with nobody there. There was no working phone number for the possible owner of the foreclosed home, with warnings placed on the front door by the city housing department.

– A dog was reported at large at 1:31 p.m. Monday in the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street, but was not found.

– A man from the 1000 block of Franklin Avenue spoke to an officer at 12:39 p.m. Monday about a mattress blown in front of his property. An officer responded and found it was a mattress pad. It was removed.

COLUMBIANA

– A 10 year old boy reported at 3:13 a.m. Monday he and his 6-year-old brother woke up cold and could not find their mother or her boyfriend in the house. Police found the adults in the backyard and found they had gone outside to enjoy the weather while the kids were sleeping.

– A solicitor’s permit was issued to James Guetling for book sales at 8:50 a.m. Monday.

– A woman reported at 3:20 p.m. Monday two people were soliciting without permits on Woodland Avenue. Police checked the area and did not see the people.

– Leon J. White, 94, South Main Street, was backing out of a parking space at Harmony Village and backed into a car driven by Wilda M. Beraduce, 57, Boardman, that was parked in a no parking zone. No citations were issued due to it being on private property.

– A woman reported at 5:29 p.m. Monday people were soliciting on Terra Verde. Police checked the area and did not see anyone.

– Tracy Hughes, West Railroad Street, reported at 6 p.m. Monday a woman in a white Sunfire is always running the stop sign in the alley rear of West Railroad Street. Police stopped the vehicle and cited the driver, whose name was not provided, for stop sign.

– A woman reported at 6:57 p.m. Monday a sick coyote was on the east side of the Dutch Village Inn. Police checked the area and did not see the animal.

LISBON

– A caller reported there was a sinkhole at the entrance to Willow Grove Park at 1:50 p.m. Sunday. Police confirmed there was a hole and it was growing as vehicles drove over it. The street department was called, and the superintendent said to close the park until they could get to it.

– The alarm went off at the First National Community Bank at 1:33 p.m. Sunday. A cleaning crew was found inside working.

LISBON

– Hayley Metzger, West Pine Street, reported a woman across from the football stadium parking lot yelled “Nazi car” as she drove past at 6:21 p.m. April 7.

– A caller reported renters at 318 N. Beaver St. were being loud at 9 p.m. March 1, according to a report just issued by police. The couple said they were just having dinner, but the officer told them the need to keep the noise down because of complaints from their neighbor.

– Police were called to the Night Court at 1:49 a.m. March 30 in regard to a man wanting to fight other patrons. An officer met Jeremiah Peterson at the rear of the building and he said he was leaving once his wife arrived to pick him up. Peterson said he would wait at the Steel Trolley Diner until she arrived.

– A caller reported there were people in the Play Town playground at 9:33 p.m. Saturday, and an officer arrived to tell them the park closed at 9 p.m.

– A caller reported there was a pickup parked near the swimming pool at 12:10 a.m. Sunday and three drunken males just entered the Play Town playground. Police arrived to find a man in his 20s going down the sliding board while holding a tall can of Bud Ice in his hand. The suspect ran away before the officer could get to him. The officer then yelled into Play Town for anyone else inside to come out, and out stepped Justin Crowl, who said he did not know the playground was closed. Crowl said he just came from a rodeo and was driven there by Jared Chestnut, who apparently fled along with someone named Brent. An open can of Coors Light was found near where Crowl was standing and an empty can of Bud Ice was also found nearby. Crowl was told to contact someone to pick him up. The truck belonged to Amanda Speigle, who arrived to drive it home.

– Police responded to a hang-up 911 call that came from a home on Maple Street at 10:41 p.m. Saturday. Police came across a woman, who chuckled and said there had been a little incident but everything was OK now. Police then spoke with a male, who said his brother, Glenn Libert, came to the house and began causing a disturbance. When told to leave Libert reportedly removed his shirt and began yelling, “Do you want a piece of this?” It was at this point the homeowner told Libert he was calling 911, which prompted him to leave.

– Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute between Brandi Cope and Jared Coil at the Night Court at 2 a.m. March 30. A witness, Gary Holloway, said he saw Cope strike Coil in the face, and there were marks on his face. While both parties declined to file charges, Cope was taken into custody on an arrest warrant out of the sheriff’s office for failure to appear in court.

-An officer assisted a sheriff’s deputy on Saltwell Road at 9 p.m. March 29 by picking up a man who said he was assaulted by his uncle. The officer brought him back to the police department to speak with the deputy.

– Sunshine Burley, East Washington Street, reported at 3:28 a.m. Saturday that Jared Coil kicked in her front door but had since left and may be on his way home on Steubenville Pike. Coil told Burley he would return to fix the door.

– A clerk at the BP station was closing at 10:55 p.m. April 9 when two males tried to get her to let them in. When she refused, the men then tried to get in through the rear door. The suspects were gone by the time police arrived.

– A caller reported a group of juveniles were trying to start a fight on Sherman Street at 10:31 p.m. Saturday. Police arrived at the Shawn Baker residence, where he said a juvenile had been knocking on his front door and then threw a brick at his shutters. Police were unable to locate the juveniles.

– Krista Schrode, 19, East Chestnut Street, reported she and her mother was having a disagreement at 8:54 p.m. March 22. She said her mother keeps hassling her about her friend and her whereabouts.

– A complaint about loud music and ATVs riding in the streets near the Motorcycle Dream Shop was received at 7:52 p.m. Saturday.

– A man was at the Valley View convenience store asking customers for a ride at 12:58 a.m. Sunday. The suspect left on foot before police arrived.

– Chris Brown, West Chestnut Street, called at 9 p.m. Sunday out of concern because he has not seen his landlord, Nicole Hilton, for over a week, although it appears she has been there. Brown will back in a week if he does not see her.

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 3:30 p.m. April 6 where two juveniles had left the residence without permission. They were located and returned later that day.

– A 14000 block Seacrist Road resident reported at 6:50 p.m. April 6 that a black man and white woman had possibly attempted to lure her son into their silver in color pick up truck.

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 1:54 a.m. April 7 where a juvenile was reportedly refusing to take her medication and began pulling her hair out.

– Police investigated a theft report in the 18000 block of Fifth Street in Beloit at 9:30 a.m. April 7.

– Police responded to a 9000 block U.S. Route 62 home at 7:08 p.m. April 7 where a resident reported his juvenile son had left the residence on foot after a verbal dispute. The juvenile was located a short time later and returned home.

– Police responded to a 5000 block Middletown Road home at 8:38 p.m. April 7 where the resident reported his ex-wife came to the residence screaming that she was taking her children and then left.

– Police investigated an assault report at the Damascus Elementary School at 2:30 p.m. April 9.

– Police responded to a 5000 block state Route 14 home at 7 p.m. April 10 where the resident wanted a man to leave. The man was told to leave and he complied.

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 8:17 p.m. April 10 where a juvenile had reportedly been drinking. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 6:58 p.m. Friday where a juvenile had reportedly taken a whole bottle of sleeping pills. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

– Officers responded to an alarm drop at a 6000 block Calla Road home at 3:32 p.m. Saturday in which someone had attempted to pry open a door to the residence and drove through the lawn.

SALEM

– A woman reported Monday morning that she was walking her dog in the 300 block of West Eighth Street when her neighbor’s dog was running loose and came at her and her smaller dog. She picked up her dog and held it above her to prevent the larger dog from hurting it. The woman was bitten in the right hip area by the neighbor’s dog. The neighbor was contacted by police and told about the city ordinance regarding loose animals. She produced current shot records for the dog.

– A woman on Aetna Street contacted police at 9:54 a.m. Monday regarding threats made towards her by her son, whom she’s evicting from the residence. She said he called and yelled obscenities at her and threatened to burn the house down. She wanted it documented.

– A woman on Seventh Street called at 7:30 a.m. Monday to report a neighbor’s vehicle was parked in her back yard. She was told she can have it towed if she wants.

– An officer on patrol at 7:08 a.m. Monday saw a vehicle in the Salem city building parking lot on South Ellsworth Avenue with a broken window. The cause of the damage was unknown.

– Drug paraphernalia reported at 6:59 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of North Broadway Avenue was recovered for proper disposal.

-An anonymous caller at 12:43 a.m. Monday reported multiple suspicious people walking through the 1900 block of Fairview Court. Nobody was found.

– An alarm was reported at 12:08 a.m. Monday at a business on the Salem Parkway. All outer perimeter doors and windows appeared secure.

– Eric White, 21, of 518 Franklin Aven. was taken into custody at 11:51 p.m. Sunday and turned over to a sheriff’s deputy after police searching for three suspicious people in the 1700 block of East Third Street located three people and learned one of them had an outstanding warrant. White was wanted on a warrant from Columbiana County for failure to appear on an underage consumption charge.

– A man on Monroe Street reported at 8:47 p.m. Sunday that his adult son opened the door to his apartment, looked in, closed the door and left. He didn’t know why he was there. He also had questions about property belonging to him still at his wife’s residence. He was told it’s a civil matter since they’re still married and to contact an attorney. An officer will attempt to call the son to tell him not to return.

– A woman in the 800 block of East Fifth Street reported at 8:07 p.m. Sunday that she confronted a man she believed had been speeding and he yelled at her and then slammed his truck door in her face.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., reported someone in a red Dodge truck pumped $70.03 worth of gas and left without paying. The vehicle was not found.

-Chantel M. Shuman, 22, of 36537 Orchard Court, was charged with theft, and Chase May, 28, of 7194 state Route 9, Hanoverton, was charged with complicity to theft after police were called to Walmart on East State Street at 7:49 p.m. Sunday for alleged shoplifters. Store personnel said a male and female ran northwest across the parking lot and possibly through a wooded area north of East State Street. Officers responded and found the two suspects behind Dollar Tree on East State Street. The female allegedly admitted to stealing items from the store and said the male did also but discarded the items while running. He denied stealing anything. Store items were found in the female’s purse. The suspects were taken back to Walmart and identified by the store’s loss prevention officer.

– A spokesman at Quaker Village, 201 S. Lincoln Ave., reported at 5:59 p.m. Sunday that someone unknown to him pulled into the store’s drive-thru and took a case of beer and carton of cigarettes without paying for the items. The person was described as a man driving a red Dodge pickup. Store video will be checked.

– Alis Rocha, of West Perry Street, came to the police station at 5:13 p.m. Sunday to talk with an officer about a stolen digital tablet that was possibly in Salem. The theft occurred in Perry Township and had already been reported to township police, but the tablet was believed to be in Salem somewhere. Officers had no way to affirm who was in possession of the stolen item.

– A woman in the 100 block of Fair Avenue reported at 5:07 p.m. Sunday that she let a known female stay at her residence for a week and noticed items missing from the bathroom. While cleaning the spare bedroom, she said she discovered the person had several bags of items taken from the bathroom. She recovered the items, then started checking for other items and discovered a digital tablet and a bottle of perfume had been stolen. She said the female is to come for her stuff and she’s no longer welcome.

– Loud music was reported at 4:26 p.m. Sunday on North Madison Avenue and High Street. The residents turned it down.

– A dog was reported barking excessively in the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 4:11 p.m. Sunday throughout the day inside a residence with the windows open. Police made contact with the resident, who said adjustments would be made.

– Police responded at 2:45 p.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue for one to be removed. Police found an elderly man walking outside from an apartment and he said he was the one. An officer spoke to a woman who said she wanted him out and had already called him a cab. The man left after the cab arrived, then the couple’s son said his mother wanted a protection order violation filed because her husband was not supposed to be there. There was no record of the protection order at the time of the call. Police were told the apartment manager did not want him there.

– An officer on patrol at 9:22 a.m. Sunday found a new bundle of newspapers behind a Sugartree Alley property in the 500 block. The newspaper was contacted and the papers were taken to the police station.

PERRY TWP.

– Township officers were called at 9:17 p.m. Sunday to assist Columbiana County Sheriff’s deputies at a business on state Route 45, south of the township, for a possible breaking and entering with the person still inside. An officer assisted deputies as the person exited the building and was ordered to the ground until his identity was verified as a family member of the business owner. The interior of the building was checked.

– A man reported at 7:02 p.m. Sunday that he and his girlfriend were being harassed by his ex-girlfriend and her friends as they exited their vehicle and entered their apartment at Salem Acres on Prospect Street. The other woman resides in Salem Acres, also. With previous complaints and reports of the same nature, police planned to send a case file to the prosecutor’s office for review of possible charges.

– Police were told about a fallen tree somewhere near Hope Cemetery, but Salem Police didn’t locate anything at 4:48 p.m. Sunday. The tree was found on U.S. Route 62, north of the four-lane bypass. The fire department responded and removed the tree and the roadway was opened back up.

– An officer responded to Salem Police at 2 p.m. Sunday in reference to a sexual assault found to have occurred inside Perry Township. The department is working with Salem Police and Children Services, with the incident under investigation.

– A barking dog was reported at 5:54 a.m. Sunday on Hartley Avenue. Attempts were made to contact the homeowners, but nobody answered the door. A phone number couldn’t be found.

– An intoxicated woman was reported walking on the road on Georgetown Road near Southwest Fuels at 11:07 p.m. Saturday. Police found her and called a cab to give her a ride.

– Police were called at 1:40 p.m. Saturday to respond to South Lincoln Avenue for a reported sexual assault. The incident is under investigation.

– A 23-year-old Salem man identified as Cory Andric was injured and taken to Salem Regional Medical Center after allegedly being dragged by a vehicle early Saturday. Andric told police at 3:08 a.m. Saturday that he and his girlfriend argued and she and another female decided to leave the residence. When he attempted to get them to stop and not leave, he somehow got his hand/arm caught on the vehicle and was dragged out onto the road before getting free. He had an obvious injury to his left shoulder. The driver of the vehicle, Cheyenne Hoops, 18, of Salem, was charged with underage consumption. The case was sent to the prosecutor for review for any further charges.

– Matthew Pittman, 24, of Salem, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 1:04 a.m. Saturday on state Route 45 near McKinney’s.

– A loud party was reported at 12:40 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Pidgeon Road. The resident was contacted and turned down the music for the night.

Salem reports

– Police on patrol at 1:15 a.m. Sunday on S. Broadway Avenue observed a man staggering on the sideways, nearly into the road and then walk behind a closed building. He was intoxicated and provided a courtesy ride to a residence in the 300 block of W. Pershing Street.

– Police responded to the 200 block of S. Lincoln Avenue at 3:28 p.m. Saturday for a person to be removed. An employee said he just left and provided a name identification and the man had previously been warned by police that he was no longer welcome on the property or he would be arrested and Marvin W. Harsch, 504 1/2 Franklin Ave. was charged with criminal trespassing and released on recognizance bond after admitting to being in the business.

– Police cited William J. McFarland and Chelsea M. McGuire, both of 1675 S. Lincoln Ave., with dogs at large after receiving a complaint. Both had been cited for dogs at large previously and this was an arrestable offense and they were released on recognizance bond.

– A man reported he had been attacked in Memorial Park by an unknown person at 8:14 p.m. Saturday. The other man left the area and the complainant didn’t know why he was attacked and then became uncooperative. He was advised of the options.

– Police responded to Centennial Park pool area at 6:53 p.m. Saturday and checked on a report for an unattended small juvenile, approximately two-years-old, but were unable to locate anyone.

– Police responded to the 2800 block of E. State Street at 7:13 p.m. Saturday where asset protection personnel at Walmart stated they had video surveillance of a theft that occurred on a prior date. It is under investigation.

– Police responded to the 600 block of Park Avenue at 9:52 p.m. Saturday where a mother advised of issues with her juvenile son and was provided with options in dealing with him.

– At 10:56 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of S. Union Avenue where the complainant said a roommate was smoking marijuana. He said it was gone and police charged Scott A. Wickersham, 916 S. Union Ave, with drug paraphernalia.

– Police responded to the Georgetown Road and W. State Street area at 11:1 p.m. Saturday for a report of an intoxicated person. Police called a cab for the woman to take her to her destination.

– Police responded to the 600 block of Sharp Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Saturday where the complainant advised several item were stolen from her wallet and a radar detector was taken from her truck. The incident is under investigation.

– A resident in the 1500 block of S.E. Boulevard found a knife in the front yard. Police responded at 2:34 p.m. Saturday and took photos and placed the knife in the evidence room.

– A man came on station at 8:17 a.m. Saturday in reference to a suspicious text message a family member received from his son. The incident is under investigation.

COLUMBIANA reports

– A caller reported hearing gunshots east of his residence at 26 N. Cross St. at 12:55 a.m. Police arrived and sat stationary for a while but did not hear any shots.

– While on patrol an officer found an open door at The Links maintenance building at 2 a.m. Saturday. The officer secured the door and left.

– Police responded to a security alarm going off at Reichard Industries at 5:35 a.m. Saturday and were met by some employees, none of whom had the access code and were going to call a supervisor.

– A hang-up 911 call was received from 36 Beechwood Drive at 3 p.m. Saturday. Police checked and determined the call was made by accident.

– Colton Bertolette of R’s Pizza Place reported Saturday afternoon getting phone calls from a female who first asked for toilet paper and then called back asking for someone to tell her a joke. Police went to the address on West Park Avenue, but the people said they had been outside all day and did not make any calls.

– Catherine Petraglia of Poland was charged Saturday with failing to pay her the city income tax from 2010 through 2012.

– A caller reported a 16-year-old boy was painting graffiti on railroad equipment at the former Youngstown & Southern Railroad tracks near Brenda Lane 4:54 p.m. Saturday. The youth was caught and charged with vandalism.

– Bobbie Gibson of Homosassa, Fla., reported she is in the process of selling a house at 43307 Middle Beaver Road, Elkrun Township, and on Thursday her realtor found people living there, even though it has been vacant for two years and there is no electrical service or running water. A deputy arrived and found three vehicles parked in the driveway and was met by Thomas M. Henry, who said he has been staying there since May 2012. Henry, 69, said he did not know who owned the property but did not want any problems and would leave. Gibson said she would not pursue charges if they moved out, and Henry said they would be gone by today.

– A deputy responded to a loud party complaint on Plymouth Street, Hanoverton, at 10 p.m. Saturday, and spoke with a Mr. Loutzenhiser, who was out back hosting a birthday party around a bonfire. He did not realize they were being loud and agreed to keep it quiet.

– Heather Courtney, Shelby Lane, Guilford Lake, reported there were children jumping in front of vehicles on Parkview Avenue at 9:44 p.m. Saturday. The deputy who responded did not see any youths but did see where someone placed a row of small sticks across the roadway.

– A caller reported there was a domestic dispute in the 11000 block of state Route 45, Elkrun Township, at 8:14 p.m. Saturday. A deputy spoke with a man, who said he had gotten into an argument with his father after the man wrecked his ATV. The man said his father had since left and there was no problem.

– James Sheen, Trinity Church Road, Center Township, reported Saturday someone stole his riding mower and he believes he knows who was responsible.

– Cheryl Emery, Black Road, Center Township, reported at 8:24 p.m. Saturday she and Jason Short had gotten into an argument over the use of a license plate. She said they only argued and there were no threats,

– James Metalik, Riffle Road, New Waterford, reported at 10:36 p.m. Saturday his fiancee’s teenage son had shoved her after the two were arguing over him not listening to her. Metalik said the boy also tried to punch him after threatening to do so. The 16-year-old boy was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the county juvenile detention center.

– Richard May of the county dog pound, arrived at 8:53 a.m. Saturday and was met by volunteer Rick Morgan, who asked if they had a “crazy dog” the night before. The reason Morgan asked is he found a plastic door on one of the kennels and the fence were bent and the padlock was not in its proper location. May then discovered that Dozer, a large chow-retriever mix, was missing.

– A home security alarm went off at a home on Coffee School Road, Salem, at 9:33 a.m. Sunday. The front door was found open but there no sign anyone had broken in, and the inside of the house appeared to be secure. The door appeared not to have been properly latched, so the deputy locked it behind him.

– A Cleveland man wanted to know how he could go about getting his stepfather’s caretakers to move out of his residence on Lisa Lane, Guilford Lake. The man said his stepfather had been admitted to the hospital on Thursday but he only found out on Sunday. The man was told he would have to go through the formal eviction process.

– Leonard Custer, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, reported at 10:40 a.m. Saturday there was a goat on his property and he wanted it removed. The deputy called Jim Sturgeon, who checked and learned his goats were confined. The deputy was then going to call Keith Sell to see if any of his goats were missing.

POLICE REPORTS

Salem reports

– Police responded to the 400 block of Continental Drive at 11:43 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious person walking around talking loudly on a cell phone. Police were unable to locate the person.

-At 10:52 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of W. Wilson Street for a report of a fight in progress. The complainant advised that two people involved went into a nearby home where police spoke to them. They stated they had an argument but nothing physical occurred.

-Police responded to a report of reckless driving at 4:55 p.m. in the S. Lincoln Avenue and Columbia Street area. A white box truck matching the vehicle description was followed and no violations observe. The driver did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

-A woman had flagged down a deputy sheriff at 6:22 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of E. State Street and advised she observed a man nearby whom she had a protection order against. A check found it was no longer valid and she was advised of the options.

-Police responded to the 600 block of E. 3rd Street at 6:35 p.m. Friday where the complainant advised of receiving threatening phone calls from an unknown person. An officer spoke to the complainant over the phone and he would not answer when asked what type of threat he received. The complainant told police to just forget it and hung up.

-Police responded to the 100 block of Benton Road at 7:24 p.m. Friday for a medical call and upon arrival fire department personnel advised the woman needed to be transported to the hospital but she had a young male juvenile on the scene who needed care. She did not wish to leave he child with another woman on the scene but wanted her child to be with her uncle. He responded and she was taken to the hospital.

– At 7:51 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street for a verbal dispute between a mother and her juvenile son. After speaking with officers both said there would not be any further problems.

– Police responded to the 2200 block of E. State Street at 8:59 p.m. Friday for possible fraud. A pharmacist advised a woman attempted to fill a prescription that appeared to be fraudulent. It was not filled and the information will be forwarded to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.

– At 9:09 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 2100 block of E. State Street where a similar incident with the same woman was reported. Police were advised she returned to pick up the prescription but when she was told it would be a few more minutes she left without it and was gone when police arrived. The information will be forwarded to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.

– Police responded to the 900 block of W. Wilson Street at 9:39 p.m. Friday for a verbal argument between a man and woman. He pushed her and left. No injuries were observed and the complainant was advised of the options. Police returned again at 10:30 p.m. and the complainant advised that a known female came and yelled at her and threw several items before leaving. Police spoke to the other woman and advised her not to return to the complainant’s residence.

Columbiana REPORTS

– Ron Brown reported at 9:28 a.m. Friday a Dodge truck was illegally parked on Union Street. A parking citation was issued to the truck for parking in a no-parking zone.

– Suspicious activity was reported on Terre Verde Road at 3:26 p.m. Friday as two men, wearing all black, were going door to door. The two men were with the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

– A driver with Tennessee license plates was driving on state Route 344 at 3:32 p.m. Friday when he made an improper turn onto Columbiana-Lisbon Road and broke an air line as he dragged rocks onto the road. Geary’s Towing towed the semi-truck.

– Susan White, Wind Rose Court, reported at 4:10 p.m. Friday someone she knew was using her bank card. The matter is under investigation.

– Charges were filed against the following for failure to pay the balance due on city income tax: Steven Bacha and Margaret Bacha, for 2010 and 2011; Bruce Trayes and Sherry Trayes, for 2010, 2011 and 2012. The following were charged with failing to file city income taxes: Lynda Vesy, Avon Lake, for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012; Stephen May, Akron, for 2010, 2011 and 2012; Timothy Smiley for 2010, 2011 and 2012. Charges were filed against Colette Rupert for failure to pay balance due on city income tax for 2006, 2009 and 2012 as well as for failure to file city income taxes for 2010 and 2011.

– A man was reported going through a blue pickup truck at the old Paxon station on East Park Avenue at 8:11 p.m. Friday. The officer spoke with Richard Gorcheff, who owned the vehicle.

– A car was reported in a ditch on East Park Avenue at 8:49 p.m. Friday. The owner of the vehicle said AAA was on the way.

– Gunshots were reported at 12:55 a.m. Saturday near the area of North Cross Street and Pearl Street. Officers were unable to hear gunshots.

SALEM TOWNSHIP REPORTS

– Emily A. Potts, 26, North Ellsworth Road, Salem, reported at 5:10 p.m. Friday as she dropped off her child to the child’s father, she was harassed by the mother of the child’s father.

– A Cunningham Road resident reported at 11 p.m. Friday his neighbor’s dog constantly barks at night and keeps him awake. An officer spoke to the neighbor and advised him of the township’s dog barking ordinance.

– A woman from the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 2:29 p.m. Friday that her ex-husband took property that belongs to her and hasn’t returned it all. She wanted it documented.

– Ryan Lujan, 20, of Lisbon, was cited for improper lane change after he attempted to change lanes while his vehicle was southbound and struck a southbound vehicle in the straight/left turn lane on South Broadway driven by Makenzie Bowell, 25, of Youngstown, at 1:46 p.m. Friday.

– A man on Southeast Boulevard called at 1:13 p.m. Friday to report finding a crack pipe in his yard.

– A woman on East Fourth Street reported at 12:35 p.m. Friday that a neighbor’s dog busted a plank on her fence.

– A bicycle left behind a building on Columbia Street was taken by police at 8:23 a.m. Friday.

– A dog was reported at large at 8:18 a.m. Friday on Ohio Avenue, with a warning tag left for the owner.

– A resident reported at 8:08 a.m. Friday that someone gained access to her bank account from a local bank and made a purchase out of Egypt. The package had not been picked up yet so the bank’s fraud department out of Canada advised they would stop it. She needed a police report.

– A rusty looking truck was reported operating recklessly on State Street at 7:36 a.m. Friday, but was not found.

– A suspicious person was reported at 12:28 a.m. Friday on East Fourth Street, but wasn’t found.

– Lance Dangelo, 23, of East Fourth Street, was charged with a red light violation and driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 3:24 a.m. Friday on East Pershing Street at Ohio Avenue. He was also told if he’s caught driving a relative’s car again with no license, the relative will be cited.

– Teresa Stanton, 45, of 175 N. Ellsworth Ave., was charged with theft after police were called to Walmart on East State Street at 10:54 p.m. Thursday for a shoplifter. A woman had attempted to leave with items in her jacket. Officers also found that she had attempted to leave the store with two full carts of items.

– A man was reported soliciting for money at 10:05 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of East State Street. He was told not to return.

– A large group loitering in the parking lot at Burger King on East State Street was told to leave at 9:50 p.m. Thursday.

– A loud exhaust on a vehicle was reported at 8:09 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Washington Avenue, with the owner of the vehicle told about the complaint.

– A caller at 6:26 p.m. Thursday reported a man left a juvenile on the side of the street on Cedar Street in a stroller. Nobody was found.

– A woman on Cedar Street reported at 5:22 p.m. Thursday that a neighbor is letting their dog go to the bathroom in her yard. The neighbor denied it, but was told a citation will be issued if it continues.

– Thomas Shaw, of East Perry Street, reported at 5:20 p.m. Thursday that two bicycles were taken from his yard.

– A caller at 5:12 p.m. Thursday reported someone illegally using their dumpster in the 500 block of Prospect Street. Multiple addresses were found in the garbage.

– Police responded at 5:10 p.m. Thursday for a property dispute in the 900 block of Sharp Avenue where a man said someone he knows attempted to enter the residence to obtain property and did not have permission. The other person was contacted and both were told their options.

– A caller at 5:09 p.m. Thursday reported seeing someone without a valid license driving a vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue, but the vehicle was not found.

– Police were called at 4:22 p.m. Thursday to Salem Regional Medical Center where a man said his gray-striped tiger cat turned and bit him on the hand and clawed both of his arms. He went to the hospital for infection. The hospital had a concern and wanted the cat checked for rabies. The animal warden was contacted to call the hospital.

– A woman on Vine Street reported at 4:14 p.m. Thursday that a business charged her account for possible purchases she said she did not make. She was told it’s a civil matter.

– Paula McFarland, 35, of 36387 Teegarden Road, Salem, was taken into custody for a warrant for larceny during a traffic stop on Maple Street near Fair Avenue at 3:14 p.m. Thursday.

– Police were called at 2:44 p.m. Thursday to West Wilson Street regarding a young male juvenile with no shoes. Police learned his uncle found him and returned him to his mother and all was fine. He had just gone around the corner of the residence while they were working in the yard.

– A woman found standing on the corner of Howard and State holding a sign wanting help at 2:56 p.m. Thursday was told by police she would have to stop. She said she was from Canton and saw on the Internet that the city had nothing against that type of activity. She was told about the rule against panhandling and was told to leave.

– A man from East Third Street reported at 11:15 a.m. Thursday that his ex-girlfriend had some movies from Family Video and has denied him of their use and hasn’t returned them to the store. He also said he was threatened by her new boyfriend. A note was left at her residence asking her to call police.

– A woman on West 14th Street reported at 10:41 a.m. Thursday that she’s still having an ongoing issue with a man continuing to call and harass her and her daughter. She said there’s a protection order against the person and she wanted it documented and sent for review by the prosecutor.

COLUMBIANA

– Shirley Britton, 79, of Columbiana, was cited for failure to stop an assured cleared distance after driving into the rear of a vehicle being operated by Elaine Brown, 61, while both were traveling south on North Main Street at 3:26 p.m. Thursday. Fred Davis, 38, of Lisbon, was behind Britton and struck the rear of her vehicle while trying to avoid the crash.

– David Six was driving on East Park Avenue when his stopped vehicle was struck in the rear by another vehicle operated by Cody Dole at 6:28 pm. Thursday.

– Andy Kidd, Union Street, reported Thursday having problems with his fence being knocked down.

– An administrator at the Heartland Christian School reported Thursday there was an incident of phone harassment between two students. The school expelled one of the students, and the victim’s parents declined to prosecute.

– A resident of Pueblo Lane reported Thursday there is a vehicle with a loud exhaust that goes through the neighborhood about 4 a.m. every day while delivering newspapers.

– Police were asked to stand by at 8 Beechwood Drive at 10:14 a.m. Thursday while a male retrieved his personal belongings from his grandparents’ home.

LISBON

– Police were asked to assist sheriff’s deputies on a traffic stop on Pendleton Street at 6:53 p.m. Thursday.

– While on patrol at 9:36 p.m. April 3, an officer saw a vehicle in the parking lot at St. George’s Catholic Church. The officer spoke with the female driver, who said she pulled over to use her cell phone and would be on her way.

COLUMBIANA

– A woman requested at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday police check on a friend she was talking to on the phone and she believed something happened because the phone went dead and she could not make contact with her again. Police went to the Timberline Drive home and spoke with the woman who said there was no problem but that she would check her phone.

– Police stood by for traffic control at the entrance to Firestone Farms at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday for the street department.

– Police assisted Leetonia police with a report of gunshots fired at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday on Walnut Street in Leetonia.

– A Duke employee reported at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday the driver of a blue Silverado drove off without paying for $70.03 in gas.

– Nicole Shivley, Heck Road, reported at 8 p.m. Wednesday her boyfriend’s grandmother was leaving the home and almost ran over her boyfriend. Police went to the home and found there was a custody dispute only.

– A woman reported at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday someone in a silver Infinity was driving recklessly on North Main Street into town from state Route 46. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– A man reported at 8:18 p.m. Wednesday there were three dogs running loose in the area of Union and Vine streets. Police checked but did not see any dogs.

LISBON

– Police were called to the CAA’s public health clinic in regard to a belligerent man at 12:26 p.m. Tuesday. The man had calmed down by the time an officer arrived.

– While on patrol an officer found the Martin Home Improvement building was not secure at 2 a.m. Tuesday. Bill Martin arrived and determined the door had been left unlocked by accident.

– Paul Preston, Thomas Road, reported Sunday his vehicle had been egged overnight.

– Virginia Mitchell, Sherman Street, reported juveniles were knocking on doors along Sherman Street on Sunday afternoon. Police checked the area but did not find anyone around.

– Lisa Barefield, West Lincoln Way, reported March 12 someone used her bank account to make $115 in purchases at Publix. She already reported it to her bank, which canceled her card.

– A clerk at Smith Oil reported a man in white T-shirt and blue jeans just walked away after filling up a gas can at 10:54 a.m. March 11.

– The sheriff’s office requested assistance with a prowler call on state Route 164 at 10:14 p.m. March 26. The officer arrived and with the deputy checked the residence but no one was there.

-The alarm went off at Sandy & Beaver Insurance at 9:06 a.m. Saturday and an officer arrived to find it had been set off by an employee.

SALEM TWP.

– Police received several complaints the past few days regarding ATVs and dirt bikes racing up and down Butcher and Lisbon-Canfield roads. At 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Constable Dan Valentine stopped Thomas Clark, Lisbon-Canfield, riding his blue Yamaha dirt bike in that area. Clark was cited for driving under suspension. It was not his first DUS citation.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

– Gregory K. Lucas Jr., 21, 17000 W. Middletown Road, Beloit, was arrested on felony charges of burglary and theft out of the Vinton (Va.) Police Department after arriving at the Goshen police station for community service through the Mahoning County Courts at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday. He was transported to the Mahoning County Justice Center to await extradition.

SALEM

– Yvette Stevenson, of the 600 block of Fair Avenue, reported a theft at 10:53 a.m. Thursday, saying that she was expecting a package containing a Kindle Fire to be delivered, but when she never found it, she contacted the post office and learned it was delivered on April 3. Tracking confirmed the delivery.

– A woman on East Perry Street reported finding a bicycle against the back of the residence at 10:38 a.m. Thursday. The bicycle was placed into police storage.

– Nicholas Cyphert, 21, of 409 1/2 S. Union Ave., was charged with possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 1:55 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of East Pershing Street for an equipment violation. A check of the vehicle revealed a pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana.

– A domestic dispute was reported in the 100 block of West Fourth Street at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday, with no physical violence, just a verbal dispute. Both parties said they would quiet down.

– Police responded at 9:47 p.m. Wednesday for a dispute at State Street Tattoo, 536 E. State St., where the owner asked some people to leave and they refused. They eventually left, but he wanted a report on file.

– A large amount of smoke was seen at 9:39 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue, south of Columbia Street, but it appeared to be a cookout fire at the rear of an establishment.

– A wallet was found at 9:31 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 1800 block of East State Street and turned over to police. The owner retrieved it.

– Police checked on a parking complaint at 9:26 p.m. Wednesday on East 14th Street where it was determined a vehicle was legally parked, but was difficult to see due to a lack of lighting. The owner moved the car.

– Police were called at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday to the Rite Aid parking lot, 2229 E. State St., for a complaint of people loitering. They were told to leave.

– Police assisted a Perry Township Police officer who was looking for a wanted person on Cleveland Street at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday. The person was located and taken into custody, but officers stood by with the person while waiting for someone to come to care for the children.

– Multiple vehicles were reported loitering in the parking lot at Arby’s, 2320 E. State St., at 8:21 p.m. Wednesday. They said they would leave.

– A 17-year-old Salem boy was cited for assured clear distance after his northbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue struck the rear of a northbound Time Warner vehicle driven by Jarrod Sturgeon, 32, of East Fifth Street, who had stopped to yield for an ambulance at 7:54 p.m. Wednesday. The report said the juvenile was distracted by the ambulance.

– An officer at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday spoke with a person who had questions about retrieving property from another person. The person was told to ask the other person and if they refused, contact an attorney.

– Two suspicious vehicles were reported in the Giant Eagle parking lot in the 2400 block of East State Street at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, but they were not found.

– Jason Sorrentino, 30, of 637 Woodland Ave., was taken into custody on an active warrant from Columbiana County after police were called at 5:21 p.m. Wednesday to check on a male seen falling down several times on South Lincoln Avenue. The person appeared to be intoxicated. During a pat down of the person, an officer located a single white tablet inside a small container in a pocket. Additional charges could be pending, depending on the results of tests on the tablet.

– A woman reported harassment at 5:16 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of East Ninth Street, saying someone known to her had been posting things about her on the Internet. She was told her options.

– A wallet found on state Route 45 and Depot Road was turned in at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, with a relative of the owner contacted so the owner could pick it up.

– A woman spoke to an officer at 9:19 a.m. Wednesday about a man staying at the residence where she was staying on Sharp Avenue, the fact that she has a restraining order and the fact that the landlord wants the man removed. She was told he would have to be evicted.

– A barking dog was reported on Arch Street at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday, but stopped before police arrived.

– A dispute was reported at 7:23 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of West Ninth Street between two males. Neither reported any violence.

SALEM

– Police responded at 12:36 a.m. Wednesday to East Pershing Street near South Union Avenue for a report of three males walking through back yards into Centennial Park. They were not found.

– Police were called to a business in the 2300 block of East State Street at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday at the request of employees closing up for the night. Several vehicles and people were loitering in the parking lot and they couldn’t close up until the vehicles left. Officers made contact with the people, who promptly left.

– An officer on patrol at 9:44 p.m. Tuesday was flagged down by a concerned citizen who advised of a suspicious man in the 900 block of East State Street who was dancing around holding a lighter. He was located and told the officer he came from Missouri and was walking to Washington, D.C. No warrants were found for him and he continued on his way.

– A caller at 9:29 p.m. Tuesday reported a blinking light in the area of Roosevelt Avenue that appeared to be a possible distress signal. An officer found a blinking flag decoration flashing in a repeating pattern. The residents were fine.

– Loud music was reported in the 500 block of East State Street at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday. An officer noted the music was loud inside the apartment building, but could not be heard outside the building. The resident agreed to turn it down.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 9:01 p.m. Tuesday in the gravel parking lot on Merle Road near Southeast School, but was gone when police arrived.

– Police stood by in the 400 block of Sharp Avenue at 8:17 p.m. Tuesday for a person to gather personal belongings. Police presence was necessary due to the person being prohibited from contacting the resident due to a temporary restraining order. The resident initially denied access, but then called police to say the person could gather her stuff.

– Police were dispatched at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday to East State Street and North Lincoln Avenue for a reckless vehicle report involving a female in a red Cadillac. The car wasn’t found.

– An open door was reported in the 400 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday. The storm door to the residence appeared damaged from high winds. There was no indication of tampering with the door or frame. Officers checked the interior and nothing appeared disturbed. The door was secured before officers left.

– An officer was dispatched at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday to Burger King, 1761 E. State St., for a report of drug paraphernalia. A used syringe and metal spoon were found on the floor of the ladies restroom behind the trash can. The officer collected the items.

– An anonymous caller at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday reported a red truck speeding along Cleveland Street several times in recent weeks with a male driver coming from a residence on the north side of the street. An officer located a truck fitting the description parked unoccupied.

– A clerk at Smith Oil in the 900 block of East State Street reported a man in a newer model silver truck pumped $45 worth of gas and left without paying.

– Police were called at 4:19 p.m. Tuesday to the parking lot of the Salem News, 161 N. Lincoln Ave., to retrieve a syringe found in the lot. An officer retrieved the item.

– A caller at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday reported a go-cart being operated in the street in the 1000 block of Hawley Avenue. An officer located a juvenile operating a gas-powered go-cart who drove across the street from an alley to the sidewalk just as the officer arrived. The juvenile was told he can’t operate the go-cart in the street. The officer also spoke to his father who reportedly was reluctant to acknowledge any wrongdoing, the report said. According to the report, he didn’t feel that he or his children shouldn’t be allowed to operate or turn around ATVs or go-carts on the street. The officer explained the laws and ordinances prohibiting such activity and the potential hazard to children from a motor vehicle. The father was told a citation or confiscation of the off-road vehicle could result if the problem persists.

– A spokesman from Rite Aid, 2229 E. State St., reported at 4:03 p.m. Tuesday that a female attempted to phone in a fraudulent prescription. The information will be forwarded to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.

– A man came to the police station at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday to speak with an officer about welding gloves he bought after hours where he works. The person who sold them to him said the gloves were stolen, then said he was joking. He was told to hold onto the gloves to see if they’re reported stolen.

– Police responded at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of West Wilson Street for a report of livestock at large. Officers talked to a man who said the chickens were caught and put away and belonged to his wife and son. The city ordinance regarding livestock was explained and he said he would get rid of them.

PERRY TWP.

– No citations were issued after a two-vehicle accident at 9:38 p.m. Tuesday on East Pidgeon Road at South Lincoln Avenue where an eastbound vehicle driven by Brian S. Wright, 42, of Pembrooke Drive, Salem, stopped at the red light at South Lincoln Avenue and started to back up to avoid a wide-turning semi, striking a vehicle driven by Kristine Urmson, 41, of Sprucevale Road, Rogers, causing minor damage to the front bumper. No injuries were reported.

– Perry Township Police, along with Salem Police, assisted the Alliance Police Task Force at 4:40 p.m. Monday in serving a warrant in the 1500 block of East 11th Street. Cody A. Wilson, 23, of 15831 W. South Range Road, Salem, was taken into custody while attempting to flee from the rear of the residence. He was transported back to Stark County by the Alliance Police Task Force.

– Police responded at 3:08 p.m. Monday to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a reported domestic dispute with weapons involved. Police spoke with both parties who advised physical violence occurred, but neither wanted to pursue charges. They were told to go their separate ways for the evening.

– Rodger L. Haney, 34, whose last known address was Laura Avenue, East Liverpool, was taken into custody as a fugitive for justice with an active warrant out of Somerset, Pennsylvania for larceny after a traffic stop at 10:06 a.m. Monday on Cunningham Road at Butcher Road. He was a passenger in the stopped vehicle. Haney was taken to the Columbiana County jail to await extradition to Pennsylvania.

– Sheila A. Brown, 57, Sue Drive, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after striking a vehicle driven by Jerry R. Porter of Leetsdale, Pa., at the intersection of North Market and East Pine at 10 a.m. Friday.

– The Highway Patrol reported at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday a five-gallon bucket was in the middle of the road near the Heck Road and state Route 7 intersection. Police found a few diesel fuel cans in the southwest corner of the road leaking and they were then set upright.

– Imagine That Daycare reported at 7:57 a.m. Tuesday a man dressed in black was in the parking lot asking for money. Police checked the lot but the man was gone.

– Linda VanDyke, Camelot Drive, reported at 10 a.m. Tuesday a sick raccoon was lying on the sidewalk near her home.

– A man reported at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday a person in a gray vehicle was driving back and forth on Firestone Avenue.

– Jason Gilpin, North Pearl Street, reported at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday he was having a child custody issue.

– Alex Scharrenberger requested at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday police accompany him to retrieve his personal belongings from a Beechwood Drive home. The residents were not home and police told him to return later.

– A North Elm Street woman reported at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday a man in blue-gray sweats was on her back porch and walking around in back yards. Police found the man on Firestone Avenue and he said he was looking for his dog. The dog was located later and taken home.

– Ashley A. Turney, 17, Boardman, was stopped at the traffic signal at the state Route 7 and state Route 14 intersection at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday and was struck from behind by James F. McCooey, West Pine Lake Road, Columbiana. He was cited for assured clear distance.

– Police warned a Union Street man for loud music at 10:36 p.m. Tuesday.

– Police responded to a domestic disturbance at 4:29 p.m. Monday and found a dispute between a father and adult son that resulted in a shoving match in which a small glass window in a door was broken. No apparent injuries were noted. The father said he wanted the son to move out and the son agreed.

– A 600 block East Fourth Street resident reported at 6:02 p.m. Monday that someone overnight had taken a garbage receptacle from the rear of his home.

– Officers responded to a report of an open door at a vacant home in the 300 block of East Seventh Street at 7:39 p.m. Monday. They checked the interior but found everything in order.

– A man from a 2800 block East State Street business reported at 9:19 a.m. Tuesday someone paid with a counterfeit $100 bill over the weekend.

– Police responded to the 400 block of West Pershing Street at 11:02 a.m. Tuesday in reference to copper wire reported stolen in Springfield Township on Sunday. Officers spoke with workers and saw the truck that brought in copper.

– Vilma Nemeth, West Spruce Street, reported March 27 that $428 was taken from her bank account by two Internet sites.

– Floyd Smith, West Chestnut Street, reported April 1 his vehicle windshield was struck by a BB pellet.

– The security alarm went off at the county elections board at 6 p.m. March 27 and 5:33 p.m. April 3, but both times the building was found secure.

– The security alarm went off at East of Chicago at 5:16 a.m. April 4, which turned out to be delivery driver from Sofo Foods.

– Jay Farrow, West Lincoln Way, reported at 5:34 p.m. Sunday he wanted his brother to move out of the apartment, but Farrow was told he would need to go through a formal eviction process.

– Nancy LaRose, Edgewood Drive, reported at 1 a.m. Monday her CO2 detector was going off. Police notified the fire department.

– Crystal L. Marchianda, 30, Columbiana, was cited for fictitious registration following a traffic stop on South Main at 1 a.m. Monday. Her passenger, James L. Bricker, 27, Columbiana, was cited for open container.

– Someone reported at 12:47 p.m. Monday a stop sign near the swings in Fun Land in Firestone Park had been vandalized with a magic marker.

– A Beechwood Drive man reported at 7 p.m. Monday a woman was assaulting her grandparents at his neighbor’s home. Alena Hodge, 18, of Columbiana, was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the county jail.

– Anthony Marchianda, West Salem Street, reported at 7 p.m. Monday he was receiving harassing phone calls from his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend.

– Someone reported at 8:32 p.m. Monday a child was being unruly at a home on South Middle Street.

– A woman reported at 8:59 p.m. Monday a dog was barking and sounded like it was in distress in a farmhouse in the area of Old Saybrook. Police checked the area but did not locate any barking dogs.

– Police responded at 2:55 p.m. Monday to the Salem Regional Medical Center emergency department for a report of a female juvenile assaulted at a park. An officer spoke with the girl and her mother and learned the incident happened in Salineville. They were referred to Salineville Police.

– Jeffrey Brown, of Hanoverton, reported at 2:05 p.m. Monday that another vehicle backed into his vehicle while he was inside Walgreens, causing minor damage to the left front bumper and fender. A witness said it was a white SUV with Virginia registration.

-A student found a cell phone on the way to school near Reilly Elementary Monday morning and brought it to the office. An officer responded to the school to pick it up and place it in the police lost and found.

– No citation was issued against Bradley McClaugherty, 25, of North Main Street, Columbiana, after a one-vehicle accident at 10:03 a.m. Monday on Painter Road near Scarboro Lane. The report said the driver had possible medical problems and lost control, with the vehicle traveling off of the road, striking a tree and coming to rest off the right side of the road. The driver was checked out by Salem fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance, but refused transport.

– A woman from Monroe Street reported at 9:10 a.m. Monday that she put her gun in a cedar chest the other day and now it’s not there. She said no other persons had been in her apartment, but it was missing. She was told to check her apartment again to make sure she had not misplaced it.

– Police were called at 9:04 a.m. Monday to Salem Regional Medical Center’s emergency department where employees reported a man came several times prior to the report for a medical problem, but kept causing problems and leaving. Medical staff determined he needed treatment, but he continued to be combative. He eventually calmed down after being restrained by staff members.

– Dogs were reported at large at 8:52 a.m. Monday in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Carole Drive. A warning tag was left for the owner.

– A suspicious man wearing a gray hoodie and pajama pants was reported in the area of the Salem Regional Medical Center emergency room at 7:39 a.m. Monday, but was not found.

– A woman reported at 1:18 a.m. Monday that her juvenile daughter was reportedly raped six weeks ago within the city of Salem. An investigation was pending.

– A child custody dispute was reported at 12:22 a.m. Monday by the mother who said the father was in violation of a court order by refusing to return the child. She was told to contact her attorney.

– Three vehicles were reported operating recklessly in the 1700 block of East State Street at 10:33 p.m. Sunday. Police found the three in a parking lot in the 2400 block and the drivers admitted they may have accelerated excessively, but denied squealing tires or passing in the center lane. They were told about the traffic laws.

– Police responded at 10:07 p.m. Sunday for one to be removed from a residence in the 300 block of Vine Avenue. A woman wanted a man to leave. He doesn’t live there, but told police he was intoxicated and homeless. Officers were able to find a place for him to stay for the evening with a family member.

– Police were called at 9:52 p.m. Sunday to the 300 block of Rose Avenue for a verbal altercation between a man and woman. The woman was upset with the male employee of a local taxi operator, saying he used foul language and was driving recklessly. He was not there. She said she was okay.

– Jason Dotson, 36, of Lisa Lane, Lisbon, was cited for no operator’s license after a traffic stop at 9:33 p.m. Sunday. Police had been called for a speeding vehicle on Hickory Lane heading toward North Ellsworth Avenue.

– Police were called at 8:13 p.m. Sunday to Salem Parkway West for some juveniles trespassing in the area. Three juveniles were found skateboarding in a business parking lot and told they couldn’t skateboard there without the owner’s permission.

– Three vehicles were reported racing through the railroad crossing on Newgarden Avenue several times at 7:53 p.m. Sunday, but were not found.

– A 4-wheeler was reported on the road in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 6:34 p.m. Sunday. Police found a man who admitted he had been on the road, but was loading up the 4-wheeler and leaving.

– Loud music was reported at 6:24 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of East Seventh Street, where it was determined it was not loud enough for a citation. The person was told further complaints would result in a citation if a violation was affirmed.

– An officer responded to Centennial Park after the department received a 911 hangup call at 6:18 p.m. Sunday which originated from an unknown number in the park. No problems were found. Another hangup call was received and the park was checked again, with no problems found.

– An officer at 5:05 p.m. Sunday was flagged down by a resident who said children were playing in the street in the 1200 block of East Third Street. A parent was contacted and said the problem would be handled.

– Two woman were reported fighting in the 600 block of Franklin Street at 4:44 p.m. Sunday. One was leaving as police arrived and said she went there to confront a relative about continuous text messages and was shoved. Both were told to cease contact.

– A caller in the 1100 block of West Perry Street reported a suspicious noise at 4:46 a.m. Monday, saying she believed someone was trying to steal the neighbor’s aluminum shed. She didn’t see anyone, but heard something banging on the aluminum siding. Nothing was found.

– A caller at 4:04 a.m. Sunday reported a man and woman arguing on South Lincoln Avenue near Circle K. Nobody was found.

– A resident in the 1100 block of Prospect Street called at 10:59 p.m. Sunday to report an unknown person throwing something at a window. The resident heard a loud noise, but didn’t see anything. Police didn’t find anyone.

– A resident on Brookview Drive reported at 7:37 p.m. Sunday that unknown persons punctured two tires on a vehicle parked in his driveway.

– A passerby called police at 10:29 p.m. Saturday to report multiple vehicles parked at the gate of a vacated roadway on Egypt Road. Nothing was found.

– An open gate to the bridge on East Pine Lake Road at Egypt Road was found at 12:37 p.m. Saturday, but no one was found in the area. Police secured the gate.

– Douglass P. Leverknight, 31, Washingtonville, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in Green Township at 11:20 p.m. March 25 in which he was eastbound on state Route 14 east of Egypt Road and allegedly traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail. No injuries were reported.

– A Blue Lantern Drive resident reported at 1:44 p.m. March 30 that her moving company had taken her safe. It was determined to be an accident and not a theft.

– Police responded to a 14000 block Middletown Road business at 9 a.m. March 31 where someone overnight had driven through the lawn.

– Police investigated a report of criminal damaging at the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 10:10 p.m. March 31.

– Police responded to a Goshen Road residence at 10:37 a.m. Friday where the resident reported his daughter was refusing to leave. Officers advised her that she had to leave and she complied.

– Police found a disabled vehicle on North Main Street near Circle K at 1 p.m. Sunday and stood by while a tow truck removed it from the roadway.

– An officer investigated a report of possible drugs at a residence in the 200 block of Main Street at 6:29 p.m. Friday.

– Pauline Gaunt, East Chestnut Street, reported at 9:49 p.m. Sunday hearing someone or something banging on her rear window. Police did not find anyone around or any evidence to indicate anyone had been outside the window.

– Michael Haught of Apple Grove apartments reported at 10:35 p.m. Sunday his cigarettes were missing after having had some guests over to his apartment.

– Someone at the Balint residence on East High Street reported there was a possibly rabid possum in their back yard at 6:47 p.m. Sunday. The possum left before police arrived.

– The street department was called at 12:14 a.m. Saturday to remove a tree that was blown down and blocking the street on West Chestnut Street.

– A man reported at 3:59 p.m. Saturday he was behind a green Ford Fiesta that was driving recklessly on state Route 14 from Washingtonville. Police found the car but did not see it make any traffic violations.

– Police checked on a suspicious man on state Route 14 at Creek Road at 7:52 p.m. Saturday and took him to a home on Macklin Road.

– Police warned Ed Rankin, Cherokee Lane, at 8:58 p.m. Saturday a neighbor complained about his dog barking.

– A patrolling officer at 12:08 p.m. Saturday initiated a traffic stop on North Ellsworth Avenue near East Seventh Street during which the passenger attempted to conceal items in her purse. The passenger, Carrie A. Malone, 31, last of 327 W. Fifth St., Salem, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver, Rachel L. Kreps, 27, Hanoverton, was cited for a turn signal violation.

– Officers responded to the 400 block of Aetna Street at 3:49 p.m. Saturday for a report of a young male with a long gun and found some juveniles who said they had been playing with an airsoft replica gun in a yard.

– Police responded to domestic dispute in the 400 block of East School Street at 5:48 p.m. Saturday and found a verbal dispute between an adult brother and sister. They were advised to separate for the night.

– A 100 block West Fifth Street resident reported at 9:09 p.m. Saturday that an unknown man had spoken to her young child through a window of the home earlier that day. The resident described the man as Caucasian in his early 20s approximately 5-foot, 9-inches tall with brown eyes and no easily identifiable marks of features. He was skinny, bald and clean shaven and wearing a sweater and khaki pants.

– Police responded to a fight in the 200 block of West Fourth Street at 10:17 p.m. Saturday and found it to be the result of a child custody dispute. The child and belongings were turned over to the mother with custody and neither individual wished to pursue the matter.

– Tracey M. Bowser, 34, 491 Sharp Ave., Salem, was arrested for domestic violence after police responded to her home at 4:36 a.m. Sunday for a report of a domestic disturbance and found her to be the primary aggressor.

– Police responded to Kelly Park at 11:11 a.m. Sunday where a Prospect Street resident reported personal belongings were left at a home after she and her roommate moved out the previous week and the owner of the residence would not let them get them. The owner agreed to let them get the belongings.

– Police responded to an East Fourth Street home at 11:36 a.m. Sunday where a resident reported the neighbor’s dogs damaging her fence.

– Police responded to a suicide attempt in the 900 block of West Pershing Street at 12:37 p.m. Sunday. The victim was calmed down then transported to the Salem hospital for evaluation.

– Police responded to a Newgarden Avenue home at 2:35 p.m. Sunday to check on a woman regarding ongoing problems. She was transported to the Salem hospital for treatment.

– Police responded to a Rose Avenue home 3:01 p.m. Sunday where the resident reported thoughts of harming herself. She was transported to the Salem hospital for evaluation.

– Police responded to the 2300 block of Kennedy Drive at 3:08 p.m. Sunday to recover a syringe found near a telephone pole.

– A Newgarden Avenue resident reported at 9:41 a.m. Friday receiving phone calls and text messages from another woman regarding a matter turned over to the police department earlier that day.

– Officers responded to a Salem Unity Road home at 5:23 p.m. Friday where a man said his soon-to-be ex-wife had removed all the furniture from the home. He was advised that it was a civil matter and to contact his attorney.

– Police responded to an East Fourth Street home at 5:24 p.m. Friday and found two neighbors in a loud verbal dispute found to be civil in nature. They agreed to separate for the night.

– Police responded to an East Sixth Street apartment at 5:47 p.m. Friday for a report of a man throwing items and yelling loudly. The man had already calmed down and said that he had received some bad news. He agreed to remain calm.

– An East Third Street resident flagged down an officer in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue at 8:53 p.m. Friday to report his ex-girlfriend had his belongings in a storage unit outside the city and refused to give them back. He was advised of his options, but didn’t like them and said he would break into the unit. He was advised he could be arrested if he did.

– Police responded to the area of Homewood Avenue and Home Circle at 10:38 p.m. Friday for a report of a person running down the middle of the road carrying a television with someone chasing them. Officers were unable to find anyone.

– Matthew S. Louk, 28, 10363 state Route 170, Negley, was arrested for operating a vehicle intoxicated after police responded to a one-vehicle crash on South Lundy Avenue at Cedar Street at 2:35 a.m. Saturday in which he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. EMS and Ohio Edison also responded to the incident.

– A patrolling officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked in an East Pershing Street parking lot at 3:53 a.m. Saturday. The driver said they were calming down following an altercation with their significant other.

– Police responded to a 300 block East Fifth Street home at 11:55 a.m. Saturday where a man had let two women into the home the previous and later found that they had taken his wallet and cell phone. He could offer no information about the women.

Columbiana

– A supervisor of the Youngstown and Southern Railroad reported at 11:34 a.m. Friday graffiti spray painted on the door of the control booth for the East Park Avenue crossing gates.

– Charges were filed on Robert Macklin, Jr. and Kayla Macklin at 5 p.m. Friday for failure to pay balance due on city income taxes. Robert allegedly failed to pay for 2010 and 2011, while Kayla reportedly failed to pay for 2011.

– Richard Hartline, Juniper Drive, requested at 1:26 p.m. Thursday police check on his granddaughter who hadn’t been heard from. Police spoke with the woman’s employer who said she was fine.

– A woman reported at 4:36 p.m. Thursday a person in a blue Ford Taurus was in the R Pizza Place drive-through drinking beer. Police checked but did not find the vehicle.

LISBON

– Jesse S. Janosik, 23, Lisbon Road, was stopped in traffic at the corner of West Maple and South Beaver streets when he began to back up to get into a parking lot, and in doing so he struck a vehicle driven by Valerie K. Hochman, 55, state Route 164, Lisbon. The accident occurred at 3:36 p.m. Wednesday, and the Janosik pickup is owned by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

PERRY TWP.

– Police responded to the bypass interchange at 6:38 a.m. Friday for a one-vehicle accident in which the vehicle operated by Randall G. Brown Jr. of Wellsville, N.Y., failed to observe that the roadway ended and traveled off the right side of the road into a swamp. The driver and a passenger, Jeramie E. Spell of Jesup, Ga., both claimed non-incapacitating injuries and were transported to the hospital by ambulance. The driver was cited for reasonable control and the vehicle was towed by Sinsley Towing.

– At 1:22 a.m. Friday, police assisted Salem units with a vehicle that fled from them in the area of Western Reserve Road and East 11th Street. The driver was cited for OVI and a juvenile male was arrested for a curfew violation. Two other males in the vehicle were not charged and the responding officer assisted with an inventory of the vehicle.

– While on patrol on North Egypt Road at 4:30 p.m. Thursday police located a small tree that was blocking the road and with the assistance of a passing motorist it was removed.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of Jones Drive at 10:35 a.m. Thursday for a report of a man with shortness of breath and he was transported to the hospital.

SALEM

– Police responded to the 2200 block of Merle Road at 12:20 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious person and were unable to locate anyone.

– Police responded to the 300 block of Morgan Court at 10:51 a.m. along with firefighters and the resident said everything was OK.

– A woman was on station at 12:38 a.m. Friday advising she was being harassed on the phone by her ex-boyfriend. Both gave conflicting statements and were advised to stay away from each other.

– Brice J. Cushman, 2101 Pearce Circle, was charged with underage consumption, OVI, turn signal violation, red light violation and fleeing from an officer at 1:15 a.m. Friday after he was observed making several moving violations near Ohio Avenue and East State Street. He was stopped on Western Reserve Road near 11th Street and later taken to the county jail.

– Police spoke to a woman from the 900 block of West Wilson Street Thursday regarding a live-in boyfriend she wanted removed. It was a civil issue and she was advised of her options.

– Police responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 6:58 p.m. Thursday where the complainant advised the residence was egged the previous evening and named several people who may have done it. Police contacted them and they denied doing it.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of West 9th Street at 7:57 p.m. Thursday where a female complainant was receiving unwanted calls from a person known to her. The other woman said she was the one being harassed. All were advised to cease their actions.

– John A. Stoffer, 455 S. Broadway Avenue was taken into custody at 9:09 p.m. Thursday on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and turned over to the sheriff’s department.

– Police were flagged down at Walmart at 2:22 p.m. Thursday by the manager because a woman was having a problem with a man in the store who had been following her. He had already been reported to the Lisbon police.

SALEM

– A caller at 7:09 a.m. Thursday reported a couple of people sleeping in the laundry room of an apartment complex on Monroe Street. The people said they don’t reside in the apartment building, but were just taking a break. They said they would move on.

– Robin Woomer, 32, of Niles, was taken into custody early Thursday on a warrant from Alliance Police for failure to appear on a receiving stolen property charge. Woomer was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over for a traffic stop at 1:42 a.m. After being processed, she was taken to a predetermined location and turned over to an Alliance officer. The driver, Sharon Winphrie, 31, of Youngstown, was cited for marked lanes.

– An officer on patrol at 12:41 a.m. Thursday saw three people walking around a business in the 1100 block of East State Street. A short time later, they were still in the area at the rear of the business, stopped and checked, with no warrants found. They lived in the area.

– Police responded at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday to a business in the 1700 block of East State Street for vehicles revving their engines and disturbing area residents. People in the parking lot said the ones responsible for the disturbance left.

– An anonymous person reported at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday that a man walked out into the road on East Pershing Street. When contact was made, he said he was okay and was told to make sure he looks before crossing.

– Police searched for an older model blue and white pickup after receiving a report at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday of children riding in car seats in the bed of the truck. The length of State Street and adjacent streets and businesses were checked, but the vehicle was not found. Two trucks matching the color description were found parked, but had no children or car seats.

– An officer spoke with a person at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday who had several law enforcement questions. The person was told their options and given answers.

-A possible intoxicated man was reported at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of East State Street, but was not found.

– Police responded at 5:21 p.m. Wednesday to East School Street to the parking lot at Waterworth Memorial Park for a report of indecent exposure inside a vehicle parked in the lot. An officer arrived but did not observe anything suspicious or indecent, speaking to several people who said they didn’t know anything about the alleged issue.

– Possible animal cruelty was alleged at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Ridgewood where the caller saw a man being overly aggressive with a dog. The dog owner was contacted and denied it. The dog appeared okay and there were no signs of physical abuse. Animal cruelty laws were explained.

– Police responded at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday to a business in the 1500 block of Salem Parkway where the owner reported an argument occurred between two employees which resulted in one of the employees leaving his company phone and keys and leaving. The employee had sent emails to him about the situation and made a statement “it will end badly” if any of the other employees thought they were going to bully him. The owner also discovered the employee had deleted all of his company emails from the company computer. Other sensitive documents with customer information had also allegedly been removed by the employee and he wanted it documented should legal action be deemed necessary.

– Dogs were reported at large in the 600 block of Olive Street at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday. The dogs had left before police arrived. Police spoke with several neighbors about the issue and told them about the city ordinance.

– An officer spoke to a man in the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard at 4:31 p.m. Wednesday regarding issues between himself and his neighbor. The officer also spoke to the neighbor and both were given their options.

– A caller at 4:06 p.m. Wednesday reported a juvenile playing with an axe in the 200 block of East Sixth Street. An officer spoke with the child and parent. The parent said an older sibling was chopping wood and must have left the axe out. The parent said the child won’t be playing with the axe anymore.

– An officer responded at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Hawley Avenue/Cleveland Street where the officer saw a young female hanging out the upstairs apartment window. The mother was contacted and said she was in another room and didn’t know her daughter was in the window going out on the roof. She said she has tried to get the landlord to put in screens, but nothing so far. She was told the consequences if it happens again.

– An officer at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday saw two small juveniles playing near the road on Southeast Boulevard near Monroe and one of them placed a stick in the road and ran back to the sidewalk. They saw the police car and ran, but one of them was found hiding behind a tree. His mom said she would handle the matter.

– A charge card found on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of East State Street was placed in the police lost and found at 2:26 p.m. Wednesday.

– A woman in the 8700 block of Salem Unity Road reported a protection order violation at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, saying that her soon-to-be ex-husband was driving around her house and parking in the lot across the street making threats to her. She and her daughter heard the threats.

– A parking complaint was reported at 11:57 a.m. Wednesday on Barclay Avenue, but no vehicle was found parked on the road. The caller was contacted and an attempt was made to contact the neighbor parking in front of her house.

– A woman on Carole Drive reported at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday that she’s having problems with a neighbor harassing her family. She wanted officers to talk to him. He allegedly came out of his house Tuesday night and yelled at a friend who stopped by to visit the family, complaining about him parking on the street. There have been multiple other dealings with the man that were unprovoked. An attempt will be made to contact him and tell him to stop.

PERRY TWP.

– A woman on Cider Mill Road reported at 4:19 a.m. Thursday that she heard someone on her front porch. An officer checked the outside of the residence and an out building, but no one was found.

– Loud music was reported at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday the 400 block of Benton Road, with the resident told to turn it down and warned that a citation will be issued if it continues.

– Loud music was reported at 7:54 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Benton Road, with the resident told to turn it down and advised if police have to return later in the night, a citation will be issued.

– Dennis Sawman, 66, of 965 Andrew Ave., Salem, was charged with domestic violence, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct with persistence after police were called to his residence at 5:59 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the Columbiana County jail to await his court appearance.

– Police responded to a reported medical call at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of West State Street.

SALEM TWP.

– Constable Dan Valentine received a report from the owner of Breezeway Mobile Manor at 7 p.m. Wednesday advising he was in the process of obtaining a mobile home that was being foreclosed on and discovered the dishwasher, furnace, wood flooring and cabinets were taken. He was checking with his attorney to determine who owned the trailer at the time of the alleged incident.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

– Tamara J. Clemens, 27, 32142 Oak St., Hanoverton, was arrested for theft after police responded to the Dollar General in Beloit at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday where she allegedly attempted to remove $65 worth of merchandise without paying.

COLUMBIANA

– Police found a unit at Rat Pack Storage open at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday and it appeared the lock had been cut off. The unit was empty and all others appeared to be secured.

– Someone reported at 3:29 a.m. Wednesday a light colored pickup was driving on the wrong side of East Park Avenue. Police checked but did find the vehicle.

– Police assisted a driver who was lost on South Main Street at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday.

– An A-Plus Powder Coaters employee reported at 7:51 a.m. Wednesday an ex-boyfriend was there when he wasn’t wanted. Donn Cook was warned for trespass.

– A woman reported at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday a vehicle did not stop for a school bus when her daughter got off. Police checked the area for the vehicle but it was not found.

– Bill Scyoc reported at 7:52 p.m. Wednesday there was an orange colored Dodge Ram pickup driving around the neighborhood slow. Police checked the area but did find the truck.

LISBON

– Police assisted county sheriff’s deputies in serving an arrest warrant on someone at 220 E. Chestnut St. at 1:41 p.m. Tuesday.

– Chris Brown, West Chestnut Street, reported Tuesday he had been assaulted by Nicole Hilton, who came into his room and struck him several times while he was asleep. When told to come to the station to file a report, Brown said he was waiting until Hilton struck him again and would be in later.

– Courtney Cusick, 220 E. Chestnut St., reported Monday that Walter Crow came to her home at 2 a.m. that day and later left, taking with him her Xbox 360 system and controller and Grand Theft Auto game. She said Crow agreed in a text message to return the items but he only returned the system and not the controller or the video game. Crow called Cusick while she was filing a report and, after being told he would be charged, agreed to return the other items.

– Jane Gallagher of the county mental health center called at 12:39 p.m. Monday to request an officer stand by while they transported a client to another facility.

– Terri Kellogg of the Lisbon Inn called at 8:14 a.m. Monday after their workers found a .45-caliber handgun on a bed under a sheet in a room. Thomas Anderson, who rented the room, later called looking for the loaded weapon. Police took possession of the handgun and then left a message for Anderson to call.

– The security alarm went off at the county mental health center at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, but the building was found secure.

– Police were called to to the county mental health center at 12:13 p.m. Wednesday to stand by while a client was transported to another facility.

– A caller said someone was ringing the door bell and fleeing at 405 W. Washington St. at 2:22 a.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area but did not find anyone about.

– A caller at 1:31 a.m. Wednesday reported a suspicious man knocking on doors in the apartment complex in the 800 block of East Third Street. Police didn’t find anyone.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 1:28 a.m. Wednesday in the Walmart parking lot on East State Street. An officer located the vehicle and spoke to the woman driver, who was exiting the vehicle to go shopping. She was told about the complaint and said she was attempting to get WiFi on her phone prior to going shopping.

– A domestic was reported at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Vine Avenue. The male left for the night.

– A man from the 1500 block of South Lincoln Avenue came to the police station at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday regarding a dispute that occurred earlier in the day with his live-in girlfriend. He was worried it would continue when he returned home. He was told his options.

– A woman came to the police station at 10:38 p.m. Tuesday wanting to have her roommate removed from their residence. She was told it’s a civil matter and she would need to legally have the person evicted.

– Low hanging wires were reported at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of East School Street, but didn’t appear that low to the officer who responded, who said nothing appeared wrong.

– An officer responded at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday to the 900 block of Andrew Avenue to assist Perry Township Police with a combative man. The township officer had the person in custody and secured before the city officer arrived.

– Rebecca Sylvester, of the 1000 block of East Third Street, reported at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday that someone entered her garage and vehicle. The vehicle was ransacked, but nothing appeared missing.

– A caller at 4:46 p.m. Tuesday reported juveniles rolling a basketball into the street on North Ellsworth Avenue at East Fifth Street. They weren’t found.

– A caller at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday reported a female allegedly abusing a child at a business in the 1800 block of East State Street, who then left with the child in a black SUV before police arrived. Police located the vehicle on East State Street near Howard Avenue and initiated a traffic stop, speaking with the driver and three juveniles who all appeared in good spirits. No indication of abuse was observed and all children said they were fine. The parent said one of the children was sick and she took him inside the East State Street business to use the bathroom, noting he had been crying.

– A caller at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday reported a dog in a cage near the curb lawn in the 1100 block of East Third Street, possibly abandoned or neglected. The officer didn’t see any cage or animal near the street as described. Another officer saw dogs in a cage across the street and several doors up from the reported location. The owner said they were not at the street as alleged. They had food and water and no violations were observed. He said he thought someone known to him was trying to cause trouble.

– Utility lines were reported down at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday on Southeast Boulevard at Oak Street. Ohio Edison was on the scene.

– A reckless operator was alleged in the area of Newgarden Avenue and Railroad Street, where an officer could see marks in the ground and on the road from a vehicle peeling tires all the way to West Perry Street and Overlook at 1:48 p.m. Tuesday. No one could be located.

– A resident on Southeast Boulevard reported at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday that a tractor trailer was on the street. An officer checked from Southeast at State Street to Southeast and Lincoln Avenue and didn’t see a truck. No trucks are permitted on the street.

– Kathryn Fisher, of the 100 block of Washington Avenue, reported at 1:17 p.m. Tuesday someone entered her garage and removed a drill. Unknown persons also managed to unlock a shed outside the garage and make entry. It was unknown if anything was missing. She suspected two people who used to live there.

– A child custody dispute was reported at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Franklin Avenue. The child’s mother was trying to pick up the child from the father’s home and he was denying her. No papers were filed for custody and the child was turned over to the mother.

– A woman on West Third Street reported at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday that her cousin would not give back her shirt and kept texting her. When police arrived, she had already received the shirt back and the texts stopped.

– A caller at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday reported that sometime in the past three weeks, someone kicked in the back door to a vacant residence on Aetna Street, breaking the door frame and gaining entry. No one was found inside and nothing appeared missing.

– A couple of people responded to the police station at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday regarding assault, saying they got into an argument which turned physical. No injuries were observed and neither side wanted to pursue charges. Both left the station to go their separate ways.

COLUMBIANA

– Someone reported at 4 a.m. Tuesday a car was parked in the middle of South Main Street near Reichard’s Industries. Police found the vehicle was halfway in the driveway and halfway in the road and located the owner, who was Reichard’s employee.

– Someone reported at 6:29 a.m. Tuesday someone was driving recklessly on state Route 14. Police found the described vehicle unoccupied in the United Rentals parking lot.

– Police stood by at the scene of a grass fire on Lower Elkton Road at 3:39 p.m. Tuesday until the fire department arrived.

– A Fairfield Avenue man consulted with police at 4:24 p.m. Tuesday regarding bruises his daughter received somehow. It was unknown how she received the bruises and no assault charges were filed.

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at Columbiana Tire on Sponseller Road at 9 p.m. Tuesday. There were no problems.

SALEM

– Police responded at 8:51 a.m. Tuesday to the Salem Post Office, 275 Penn Ave., for a report of menacing after a man walked into the post office and was very irate over a general piece of mail left in his mailbox. He was yelling and banging his fist on the counter. Witnesses and the complainant were given statements to fill out. Officers tried to contact the suspect, but he wasn’t home.

– A woman from the Smith Center, 500 E. Fourth St., reported at 7:59 a.m. Tuesday that a vehicle drove through the lot Monday and the young male passenger yelled out the window a vulgar offensive comment towards the people at the center.

– Police responded to the area of North Lundy Avenue and East Third Street at 10:35 p.m. Monday for a complaint about a suspicious man allegedly in the area for 45 minutes. An officer found him along the sidewalk talking on a cell phone. He was identified as a resident in the 400 block of East Third Street who said he had gone outside to talk on his cell phone and that’s all he had been doing. He was told about the complaint, but was told there was no problem with what he was doing.

– Officers on patrol at 9:32 p.m. Monday found an unlocked lock and cable at a business in the 2300 block of East State Street. There was no sign of damage or tampering. Officers attached the cable to store products located outside and locked the cable.

– A domestic was reported at 9:14 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of East Third Street where an argument between a mother and her adult son occurred. No physical violence took place. She was told the procedure for having her son evicted.

– Police responded to the 900 block of East Sixth Street for a report of 911 hangup calls from a residence at 8:08 p.m. Monday. A resident said he was having problems with his cell phone.

– A woman on East Fourth Street called at 7:27 p.m. Monday to report her ex-husband threatened to come over and harm her while they were talking on the phone. She was told her options.

– Several juveniles were reported in the street in the area of Park Avenue and Maple Street at 7:10 p.m. Monday, but none were found when officers arrived.

– Police were called at 6:29 p.m. Monday to the 400 block of Franklin Street for a fraud report. A woman said she received two phone calls from an unknown number, with a female caller leaving a message saying she was an independent contractor calling for a credit service that was attempting to locate the woman over two accounts in her name that were being turned over to collection. She said she does not have any debt and should not have anything on her credit report. She wanted to file a report for possible fraud and identity theft and was told to check her credit report for fraudulent items.

– A man on Superior Avenue at 5:28 p.m. Monday reported finding a set of keys on a retaining wall in the 700 block. The keys were placed in the police lost and found.

– A woman in the 700 block of East Third Street reported possible fraud at 4:03 p.m. Monday, saying she signed up for a product that had a 14-day free trial and after the fourth day, she had a charge to her account. She called the company and they had no record of her in their system. She contacted the bank to report a faulty charge on her account.

– Police were called at 4:02 p.m. Monday to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue for report of property being removed from a residence. Officers made contact with three people near the back of the property, all who reside on East Perry Street. They said some people had placed several items in a pile near the wood line at the rear of the South Lincoln Avenue property, which was also near the rear of their properties. One of the items was an aluminum step ladder taken from the exterior of one of their residences in the 500 block of East Perry Street. The remaining items appeared to have been removed from the residence or garage of the South Lincoln Avenue property, including a lawn mower, leaf blower and trimmer. Officers relocated the items to the garage/shed and secured it.

– A woman on Southeast Boulevard reported ongoing problems with her adult daughter at 3:04 p.m. Monday. The matters were mostly civil and she refused to try to prosecute the daughter on anything at this time.

– An officer on patrol at 3:02 p.m. Monday saw a vehicle parked on the sidewalk at East Third Street and North Broadway Avenue and issued a ticket.

– Chief J.T. Panezott reported at 1:42 p.m. Monday that he received an email complaint from Councilman Clyde Brown in reference to a resident on Sharp Avenue parking on the city right-of-way and driving across the sidewalk. No specific address was given. The chief drove to the area and saw there had been heavy vehicle traffic across the sidewalk into the front yard at 476 Sharp Ave. and attempted to make contact with the resident, without success. A copy of the ordinance regarding driving on sidewalks, street lawns and curbs was left in the door of the residence.

– Jonathon Maines, 25, of Cherry Street, was cited for failure to yield and expired license after a two-vehicle accident at 11:47 a.m. Monday at Olive Street and South Lincoln Avenue. Then he was taken into custody and turned over to a deputy for an active arrest warrant out of Columbiana County. The report said Maines stopped at the intersection on Olive Street and failed to yield to oncoming traffic on Lincoln, striking the driver side of a northbound vehicle driven by Erin Atkinson, 34, of Pembrooke Drive. No injuries were reported.

– Police assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic dispute on Hoopes Road at 9:25 p.m. Monday.

– An officer at 6:22 p.m. Monday spoke with a woman and man via telephone in reference to a child custody issue, finding that an order was filed in Carroll County Common Pleas Court. Both were told to speak with their lawyers.

– A loud music complaint was filed at 3:21 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Benton road. The music was shut off before police arrived.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– A man reported at 1:45 p.m. Monday that he was being accused of stealing a debit card and using it unauthorized. A woman had already called police at 5:43 p.m. Sunday to report the incident, saying a known male told her he had no place to stay so she allowed him to stay at her residence for several hours. She had fallen asleep and woke up later to discover he was gone and had taken her debit card and a ring. The report said he reportedly used the debit card at a nearby gas station/convenience store, causing her account to be overdrawn. Charges are pending further investigation. She said he returned later at 8:45 p.m. Sunday and she told him not to come back and that she was calling police.

– A dog was reported running at large at 1:06 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of Rose Avenue. The owner was given a verbal warning and told to keep the dog on a leash.

– Police were called to the 400 block of Franklin Street at 12:56 p.m. Monday to remove a person and found it was a juvenile who was visiting a friend. He was taken home and turned over to his mother.

– A city health department sanitarian asked for assistance at 11:31 a.m. Monday at a Salem residence regarding a dog bite issue. The dog owner was in the process of taking care of the problem.

– A suspicious person was reported looking into windows of homes in the 1700 block of East Third Street at 1:25 a.m. Monday, but fled on foot before police arrived.

– A suspicious truck was reported at North Ellsworth Avenue and West Sixth Street at 1:05 a.m. Monday. As officers arrived, the truck pulled into a drive and the occupants went inside a residence.

– Police were called at 11:33 p.m. Sunday to check the well-being of an infant in the 1300 block of East State Street at the request of the child’s father. Officers made contact with the mother and checked on the infant who was sound asleep. The child appeared to be in good health, with no problem observed.

– An anonymous caller at 8:43 p.m. Sunday reported a person acting suspicious in front of a store in the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The man was located standing in front of the store singing . He was told about the complaint and said he was waiting for a ride. He was told to wait in a different location and left. He returned several minutes later and started to argue with the clerk on duty. Officers responded back and told him he’s no longer welcome at the store and he’ll be arrested if he returns. Officers had to come back a third time after the man starting calling the store repeatedly harassing the clerk. Information will be sent to the prosecutor for possible charges.

– A woman in the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 8:14 p.m. Sunday that her ex-boyfriend is only supposed to call to speak to his daughter and said he called four times in a row on Sunday. An officer called him and he said he only called twice after she hung up on him before he could tell his daughter good night. The report said it’s an ongoing custody issue between the parents. The man said he records all calls due to legal issues.

– A suspicious person was reported in the 2300 block of East State Street at 8:05 p.m. Sunday. Officers found the person in question walking and he said he had been in the store and was asked to leave. An officer told him he would be better off not returning to the store, he agreed and left. The manager told police he had been acting strangely inside the store and she believed he may have taken an item without paying for it. She was told to review the video.

– A barking dog was reported at 6:29 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Newgarden Avenue. The owner said he would take care of the problem.

– David Shivers, of East Pershing Street, reported at 6:24 p.m. Sunday that sometime overnight, a city plow truck threw dirt and gravel all over the back trunk of his vehicle while plowing the street.

– Police received two separate complaints about juveniles in the 400 block of Franklin Street doing things to neighbors. One man at 5:32 p.m. Sunday said the juveniles who live next door are constantly throwing items in his yard and banging on the fence. Another neighbor at 4:45 p.m. Sunday reported juveniles throwing rocks at a neighbor’s dog and one juvenile urinated on the neighbor’s fence. The mother had already been approached once. The second time she was told to keep the children inside for the evening and to supervise them if they go outside.

– An officer on Jennings Avenue saw a man operating a small dirt bike turn from Second Street onto Jennings and then turn into an alley. The officer made contact and told him not to ride in the street.

– Thomas G. Piatt, 19, of 480 1/2 W. Pershing St., was taken into custody on a warrant out of Columbiana County after police were called at 4:46 p.m. Sunday to the 500 block of Pershing Street to assist a city resident locked out of his vehicle. When they identified him, the warrant was discovered.

– A woman on East Seventh Street reported at 2:51 p.m. Sunday that she found her front door wide open after coming home. The interior was checked by the homeowner and no one was found inside. It appeared the door was blown open by the wind.

– A parking ticket was issued for a vehicle found parked blocking the sidewalk at West Fourth Street and East School Street after a parking complaint was filed at 2:42 p.m. Sunday.

– Police responded to the 100 block of Hawley Avenue for a person to be removed at 9:49 a.m. Sunday. A man was seen getting into a vehicle when police arrived. The woman who called said he was her ex-boyfriend and she didn’t want him there.

PERRY TWP.

– Police responded to the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road for a report of phone harassment at 12:27 p.m. Sunday. A man said he was being threatened through text message by his ex-girlfriend’s ex-husband. Police contacted the ex-husband and told him not to contact the man anymore or charges will be filed.

– Police were called at 8:52 a.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of Cleveland Avenue for a report of an injured buzzard that flew into a vehicle. Police contacted the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to remove the injured bird, but before ODNR arrived, the buzzard flew away.

– A woman in the 1200 block of Benton Road called at 11:52 a.m. Saturday to report a burglary. The incident is under investigation.

– Police and KLG Ambulance and Perry Township Fire Department responded at 11:04 a.m. Saturday to a medical call in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Police assisted KLG personnel with the patient, who was transported by KLG to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

– Police responded to the area of state Route 9/U.S. Route 62 at 10:24 a.m. Saturday for a report of a male dumping tires. Police spoke with two juveniles who live nearby who said they were outside all morning and did not see anyone dumping tires.

– Brandi Houshour, 26, of Salem, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence of an alcoholic beverage after police initiated a traffic stop at 2:16 a.m. Saturday on a vehicle which failed to dim its high beams on West State Street.

– Loud music was reported at 7 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Benton Road. The music was turned down.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn Girls Home at 6:12 p.m. March 23 for a report of a juvenile resident who left the home without permission. The juvenile was found and transported to the hospital after making threats to harm herself.

– Police responded to an 8000 block Roller Road residence for a report of animal abuse at 3 p.m. March 26. Humane agents were contacted after a deceased dog was found on the property.

– Police responded to a Western Reserve Road home at 10:45 a.m. March 27 where a woman reported a verbal dispute with her husband regarding taking the dog from the residence.

– Police investigated a forgery report in the 11000 block of Seacrist Road at 2 p.m. March 29.

– Todd Arnold, 44, 14737 Garfield Road, Salem, was charged with domestic violence after officers responded to the home at 1:08 a.m. Sunday where he allegedly slammed his wife’s head against a window during an argument while inside their vehicle in the driveway. He claimed that she had been striking him, as well. Due to the level of intoxication of both people, they were transported by Damascus and Beloit EMS to the Salem hospital for evaluation. The wife’s 11-year-old daughter, who was in the backseat, was also transported with her mother.

– Danielle Marie Ferguson, 28, 1323 S. Arch St., Alliance, was taken into custody at 5:40 p.m. Sunday on an active warrant for theft after allegedly removing items from the Dollar General in Beloit on March 16. She was detained by Austintown police and turned over to Goshen.

COLUMBIANA

– Willis Barnhart requested to speak with police at 12:24 a.m. Saturday regarding his grandson David who was arrested by Poland police on a warrant from the county for failure to appear. Police confirmed the arrest with the sheriff’s office and advised Barnhart of his options.

– A South Main Street man reported at 2:53 a.m. Saturday there was a possible domestic in the upstairs apartment. Police spoke with Crystal Marchianda, Jonathan Cook and James Bricker who said they were in an argument. No charges were filed.

– Janell E. Bolton, 32, Rogers, was cited for driving under suspension and loud exhaust after a traffic stop on North Main at 7:48 Saturday.

– Brian J. Hebb, 40. East Liverpool, was cited for driving under suspension and loud exhaust after a traffic stop on West Park at 11:40 p.m. Saturday. He was also found to have an active warrant for his arrest through Niles although it was outside the pickup radius.

– Jon Rettig reported at 8:27 a.m. Sunday a car with two flat tires was parked in the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home parking lot. The owner was contacted to have the car removed.

– A man reported at 3:43 p.m. Sunday a woman was sitting on the bridge over the creek after the underpass on Lisbon Road. The woman told police she was just taking a break from walking.

– Lonba Moraski, South Elm Street, reported a tenant and landlord dispute at 4:20 p.m. Sunday. Police told her it was a civil matter.

– A Columbiana-Waterford Road woman reported at 5:40 p.m. Sunday she received disturbing text messages from someone.

– A man reported at 8:14 p.m. Sunday a car was parked in the driveway into the woods of the cemetery for about two hours.

– Cathy Reash reported at 8:14 p.m. Sunday she hadn’t seen her neighbor in a week and papers were beginning to pile up on their porch. Police contacted the neighbor and there were no problems.

LISBON

– Travis T. Sadler, 38, North Market Street, was arrested March 25 and charged with assault for allegedly hitting Porsha Lodge in the face, leaving a mark on her cheek.

– The general security alarm went off at the Vista Center at 4:12 a.m. Saturday. Police arrived to find the building secure and nurses were unsure why it went off.

– Shelly Smith, North Beaver Street, reported at 9:28 p.m. Friday someone knocked on her front door and ran away. Police spoke with neighbors, who said someone also knocked on their door and then they saw a juvenile hiding behind a tree before fleeing.

– Elaine Iler, West Lincoln Way, reported Friday her son is being harassed and bullied by another student when they get off the school bus. Iler has spoken with the school, which stationed a teacher at the bus stop to monitor the situation.

– Police responded to a burning complaint near the Vista Center on North Market Street at 7:20 p.m. March 15. An officer spoke with Jeremiah Wylie, who was burning an old shelf. Wylie was told to keep the fire small and that fires in the village are to be limited to cooking purposes only.

– Amber M. Rohm, 34, state Route 517, was cited for failure to control after she spun out of control and into a ditch while driving on East High Street at 11:35 p.m. Friday.

– Darrin K. Dustman, 19, Teegarden Road, Lisbon, was cited for assured cleared distance after driving into the rear of a vehicle driven by Daniel J. Drotleff, state Route 9, Salem, on West Lincoln Way at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday. Drotleff had slowed for a cat when struck from behind.

– Ralph D. Spotelson Jr., 29, Somer Street, Leetonia, was cited for improper backing after he struck a utility pole while backing up in the alley between West Chestnut and West High streets at 1:07 a.m. Friday. Spotelson was driving an Arrow Disposal truck.

– Rebecca J. Junkins was driving west on West Lincoln Way when she failed to stop at the traffic light at Beaver Street and struck a vehicle driven by Valerie Lockhart, Old Monroeville Heights, Salineville, at 6:08 p.m. Sunday.
