SALEM

– Police responded to the 100 block of West Perry Street at 1:47 p.m. Friday where a female complainant advised a known man was at the residence saying she owed money for a cell phone she sold him and then he lost. She denied owning money and he got upset “flicking” a cigarette at her. The landlord advised the man had no permission to be there.

– Police responded to the municipal lot in the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 10:52 a.m. Friday where a large appliance drop-off sponsored by the city and Perry Township was being held. A man was upset because he couldn’t leave a car part there and went to the Service-Safety Director. He was advised auto parts were not part of the drop off.

– Police responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 11 a.m. Friday where a man in a white van reportedly drove off without paying for $33.59 in gas. He went northbound on Rose Ave and police were unable to locate him.

– Police responded to the 1200 block of East State Street at 3:04 p.m. Thursday for a three-vehicle chain-reaction rear-end accident. L.T. Wheels of Des Plaines, Ill., was transported to the hospital.

– At 5:05 p.m. Friday, police received a complaint on station from a resident in the 200 block of Woodland Avenue who advised that hunting equipment was stolen from his vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue for a report of an unruly juvenile who was reported missing earlier, was arguing with her mother and expressed thoughts of hurting herself. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

– Police in the 1100 block of East Pershing Street at 5:16 a.m. Friday observed a person known to have an outstanding warrant and Marvin W. Harsch, 504 Franklin Ave., was taken into custody and transported to the county jail for failure to appear.

– Joshua J. Garrod, 849 East 3rd Street, was taken into custody at 2:11 a.m. Friday after he called about being locked out of his vehicle. Police found an outstanding warrant from the Canfield Police and he was turned over to them.

– Police responded to the 400 block of Legacy Lane at 4:40 p.m. Thursday where the dealership said a man was not wanting to pay a bill after having his vehicle serviced. They were advised it was a civil matter.

– Police received a report from a person at 4:43 p.m. Thursday advising their vehicle was damaged in the 400 block of Newgarden Avenue while they were at work.

– Police responded to the 600 block of East 4th Street at 7:47 p.m. Thursday for a report of a breaking and entering. The lock and hinge of a shed had been tampered with and the complainant was advised of the options.

– Police responded to the 600 block of East 6th Street at 3:32 p.m. Thursday where the complainant advised that a stained-glass window was removed from the residence without permission.

– Police responded to the 100 block of West 7th Street at 2:31 p.m. Thursday where a female advised her husband was having medical problems and needed help. He was transported to the hospital.

LISBON

– Police went to 320 E. Chestnut St. at 7:48 p.m. Thursday after a man reported his brother was sleeping and he could not wake him up and he was concerned for his health. Police and EMS went to the home and the man was found to be OK.

COLUMBIANA

– Someone reported at 1 p.m. Thursday there was a box truck parked behind an empty house in the 400 block of Fairfield Avenue and people appeared to be dismantling a shed. Police checked and found the people had a work order to do so and there were no problems.

– Dave Perkins reported at 3:59 p.m. Thursday a suspicious van was at a neighbor’s house on Stanton Avenue. Police checked and found no problems.

– Jamie Bertolette, Fairfield School Road, reported at 4:36 p.m. Thursday two men were wandering around his yard and he didn’t know who they were. Police checked and found the men were there to collect a debt, and Bertolette refused to answer the door for them.

– A Columbiana County Sheriff’s Deputy requested at 9:38 p.m. Thursday police stand by while they dropped a woman off at her home on Union Street after they had given her a ride when her vehicle broke down.
