SALEM
– William K. Harrigan, 80, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and fictitious plates following a two-vehicle crash on South Lincoln Avenue at 7:42 a.m. Thursday in which he was southbound and failed to stop for traffic at Columbia Street, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Alexandria Faith J. McDole, 18, Wellsville. McDole was treated on scene for possible injuries.
– Police responded to a Washington Avenue home at 11:51 a.m. Friday where a woman reported a man she knows had taken her cell phone the day before and she believed he sold it for drugs. She said that she was worried he would return to take more items. Police were unable to find the man.
– A resident flagged down a patrolling officer in the area of East Pershing Street and Washington Avenue at 6:40 p.m. Friday to report two people yelling obscenities. The two people admitted to yelling at each and were warned to stop.
– Officers responded to a report of an unruly juvenile in the 1000 block of East Third Street at 8:52 p.m. Friday and found a verbal dispute between family members. They were told to stop.
– A Lisbon Road resident reported on station at 9:40 p.m. Friday unauthorized activity on her credit card.
– Officers responded to a home in the 100 block of West State Street at 10:13 p.m. Friday in reference to menacing and threats. Both people involved were told to stay away from each other.
– Police responded to a dispute at an East State Street home at 10:27 p.m. Friday in which a man said his mother would not let him and his friends inside the house. The mother said that the son could enter but his friends were not welcome.
– Police responded to a home in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:29 a.m. Saturday where the resident reported a white man with curly black hair wearing blue jeans and a gray T-shirt was knocking on her door and yelling “Jesus is coming.” Officers were unable to find the man. Police responded to similar reports in the 300 block of West 10th Street at 4:45 a.m. but were again unable to find the man.
Columbiana
– Leetonia police reported at 12:27 a.m. Friday a woman they picked up on a warrant had been assaulted in the city earlier that day. The woman was identified as Danielle Walter, age and address not listed.
– Norfolk and Southern Railroad police reported at 3 p.m. Friday a train had just traveled through the Pittsburgh Street crossing and there was a boy about 12 years old playing “chicken” with the train. Police looked for the boy but could not find him.
– Police found a disabled vehicle on state Route 14 near state Route 7 at 5:14 p.m. Friday and located the driver who said it ran out of gas, and he was able to get some to get it running again.
– The highway patrol reported at 5:29 p.m. Friday someone in a tan van was driving recklessly into the city from state Route 11. Police checked the are but did not find the vehicle.
– Rikki Brown reported at 7 p.m. Friday a woman who was not allowed on the property was in his driveway. Police stood by until the woman retrieved her items from the home and left the property with no problems.
– Rebeca Coppersmith reported at 10 p.m. Friday she lost her keys at the Save-A-Lot store and requested police immobilize her vehicle until she was able to get another set. Police were able to put a club on the vehicle until the keys could be found.
– Someone reported at 11:13 p.m. Friday a group of about six kids were yelling profanities in the traffic circle. Police checked but did not find the group.
– A man requested at 11:37 p.m. Friday police go to the electric substation on the north side of town for some sort of problem. Police found a raccoon stuck in the power lines and were able to get it out.
– Merwyn P. Garwood, 68, South Bayshore Drive, was attempting to turn south onto state route 7 at 11:58 a.m. Thursday when she was struck from behind by Carrie A. Huff, 37, East Palestine. No citations were issued.
– A woman reported at 12:55 p.m. Thursday there was an irate man on a bus stopped at 110 Court St. who was refusing to leave the bus. Police found the problem was related to a landlord and tenant dispute and the man was given a verbal warning for disorderly conduct. At 2 p.m. the bus driver requested police stand by while they dropped off the same man. The man got off the bus with no problems.
– Haley Christine Tohm, 17, North Cross Street, and Kaitlyn Kerr, 16, Back Bay Drive, were backing out of parking spaces at the high school at 2:51 p.m. Thursday and struck vehicles. No citations were issued.
– A man reported at 6:37 p.m. Thursday there was a group of kids causing problems in Funland in Firestone Park. The man said the kids were using inappropriate language. Police warned the group for their behavior.
– A Firestone Avenue man reported at 9:28 p.m. Thursday a St. Bernard dog was barking in the neighborhood for several hours. Police found the dog and the owners took her inside.
– A Fairfield School Road woman reported hearing gunshots toward her driveway at 10:19 p.m. Thursday. Police checked the are but did not see or hear anything related to shooting.
Lisbon
– Police were called to the Home Savings parking lot on West Lincoln Way at 9:16 a.m. Friday for a report of a vehicle accident. Jenna Jackson, age and address not listed, said she pulled into the entrance/exit off Beaver Street and struck a vehicle driven by David Ketchum, age and address not listed, who was approaching from the opposite direction. Jackson said she did not see Ketchum’s vehicle as it was approaching. The crash caused minor damage to both and no injuries were reported. No citations were issued due to being on private property.
– Police and a sheriff’s deputy were called to the Twin Oaks Trailer Park on state Route 45 at 11 p.m. Thursday for a report of a domestic inside a vehicle. The vehicle could not be found.
– Police were called to the bike trail along West Lincoln Way near St. Jacob-Logtown Road at 10:52 p.m. Thursday for a report that a woman was hit by a car at the Canton Bridge. KLG Ambulance also responded but the vehicle and the people involved were already gone.

– Police responded to the 800 block of East 3rd. Street at 1:20 a.m. Friday and assisted EMS personnel as needed and a woman was transported to the hospital. A syringe with a clear fluid was found in plain view and sent BCI for lab test with possible charges pending on the results. A report was sent to Children Services because there was an infant in the house.
– Police responded to the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 2:36 a.m. Friday where the complainant advised a man in a white Chrysler Sebring has been harassing and threatening an employee repeatedly but was gone when police arrived. His last location was broadcast and Perry Township police made a traffic stop on the bypass and followed up and the suspect was advised of the complaint. An outstanding warrant was located on the person and Charles R. Bowers, 15667 Pineview Dr., East Liverpool, was taken into custody for failure to appear for child support and taken to the county jail.
– At 5:41 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of Stewart Road to assist Perry Township police regarding an assault report where shots were fired.
– At 4:01 p.m. Thursday, police received a complaint on station regarding a theft earlier in the day. Officers spoke to the suspect who denied being in the area. The incident is under investigation.
– Police responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 5:11 p.m. Thursday where a person couldn’t find a credit card said he didn’t want to be transported to the hospital until he found it. Police located it in his vehicle and he was taken to the hospital.
– At 7:02 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 2400 block of East State Street where the complainant said she was sitting in her vehicle at the rear of a business when an unknown man came up and started yelling at her. She asked him why and threatened to go to the police. He went to his vehicle and she drove to the police station. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the man’s vehicle.
– At 8:23 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of a fight in Centennial Park. Several people were reportedly involved and one person said they were juveniles. One juvenile approached another and started a fight. One was taken to the hospital and police were unable to locate the other person but followed up with the guardian of the injured juvenile to make them aware of the incident.
– At 8:53 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 700 block of East 5th Street regarding a reckless operation report of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and running a stop sign. Police checked the area but were unable to locate it.
– Police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge at 10:10 p.m. where the complainant’s vehicle was broken into and an item was stolen. Police advised the complainant to obtain the serial number. The incident is under investigation.
– At 11:39 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard where the complainant advised her boyfriend had assaulted her in the parking lot and left before police arrived. Police advised her to respond to the station and fill out a written report.

– At 4:29 p.m. May 22, police responded to the 200 block of Main Street and assisted the resident.
Police responded to the 200 block of Front Street at 6:17 p.m. and assisted and ambulance crew at a business.
– Police responded to the 200 block of Main Street at 7:39 p.m. May 22 for a possible assault and Christopher Hyler, 207 1/2 E. Main St., was charged with assault and unlawful restraint.
– Police received a report at 7:24 a.m. May 24 regarding the theft of a Big Foot lawn statue. An investigation is pending.
– Police are investigating a violation of a temporary protection order after receiving a complaint at 11:13 a.m. May 20.
– At 9:26 am. May 17, police investigated a possible vandalism on Lisbon Street.
– At 2:33 p.m. May 15, police took a report of a possible theft in the 100 block of Pine Street.

– Teresa Shasteen reported finding a syringe on the roadway while she was walking on Sherman Street at 8:08 a.m. Thursday.

– Police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge at 8 a.m. Thursday where the complaint advised that during the night or early morning someone got into the unlocked car and took several items. The incident is under investigation.
– At 9:04 a.m. Thursday, police located Christopher L. Hyler, 270 Main St., Leetonia, walking in the 700 block of Newgarden Ave. and had been advised by Leetonia police regarding a warrant. He was taken into custody and the Leetonia police picked him up.
– Police responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 11:31 a.m. checking on a resident who missed two court appearances in the morning. Officer obtained permission to search the residence and a man there said the person they were looking for left earlier and was upset after speaking with her husband, who was in jail. Police advised him to have her call her mother.
– At 1:18 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of South Ellsworth Avenue where the complainant’s company was having issues getting equipment back from an employee who quit.
– At 1:20 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 900 block of East Pershing Street where the complainant advised his daughter’s tablet was missing after a Memorial Day party. Everyone had looked at it except his sister-in-law whom he suspected of taking it. Police advised him they will attempt to contact her.
– Police responded to the 200 block of West Wilson Street at 3:25 p.m. Thursday and assisted Children Services at a residence.
– Police responded to the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue at 12:33 a.m. where the complainant advised he let an unknown man into the house to use the restroom and after he left noticed that $40 was missing. Police advised him it wasn’t a good idea to let unknown people in his residence.
– At 1:29 a.m. Thursday, police served a warrant on Matthew J. Campanelli, 1048 E. 9th St., for failure to appear for child support. He was taken to the county jail.
– Police responded to the 900 block of East 3rd Street at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday where a man requested an ambulance to take him to a Youngstown hospital for depression and he reportedly attempted to harm himself. He was taken to a local hospital for initial determination for further testing at another hospital.
– At 10:07 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 2800 block of East State Street where the complainant advised of a person driving by with his pants and underpants down and masturbating. Police will attempt to obtain security video from a business to identify the person.
– Police responded to the 1500 block of East 10th Street at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday where the complainant advised of an IRS scam. Information was taken.
– Police responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday regarding an assault and both parties were intoxicated and gave different versions. The were advised to respond to the police department and fill out statements in the morning when they are sober. Policed advised them if they returned, they could face charges for disorderly conduct.
– Police responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 2:01 p.m. where the complainant advised that at around 9:30 a.m. someone defecated in the alley by the dumpster. Video was reviewed but the person was unable to be identified because of the lack of video quality. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the person due to the call being taken late in the afternoon.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– Alexander M. Jerry, 53, Campbell, was cited for driving under suspension and two headlights required following a traffic stop on state Route 165 near Lisbon Road at 5:08 a.m. Thursday.
– An officer responded to Robert’s Country Store on Stratton Road at 12:20 p.m. Thursday where the manager reported an unwanted man was loitering at the store and making employees feel nervous and that he was also standing in the ditch peering through trees at the neighboring houses. An officer found the man and warned him not to return to the store.

– Police were requested by an ambulance crew at 9:41 p.m. Wednesday for a combative woman in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue and found everything was OK upon arrival. The woman was transported to the hospital.
– Police responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person to be removed and arrested Kevin L. Ring, 938 Prospect St. on an outstanding warrant from Columbiana County and he was transported to the county jail.
– Police responded to the 600 block of Main Street at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday where the complainant advised that a gas-powered generator was taken from their detached garage in the past two days. The incident is under investigation.
– Robert L. Goterba, 1311 Robin Ave., Salem was cited for a right-of-way violation at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday following a two-vehicle accident at Stewart and Depot roads. Daniel L. Ludwig, 2473 Depot Road was stopped on Stewart Road when he was struck by Goterba’s vehicle that was northbound on Depot road attempting to turn westbound onto Stewart Road.
– Police responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday for a 911 hangup call in which a woman was claiming to be held against her will. The woman was outside the residence ad said she was assaulted by her boyfriend. Police spoke to him and he advised he was assaulted by her. They were advised of the options and both declined to file charges and the woman left the residence and the man went back inside the residence.
NEW WATERFORD
– At 5:45 p.m. May 18, a resident was on station advising he discovered unauthorized purchases on his bank account and provided a printout of the fraudulent charges. The complainant advised he reported the fraudulent charges to his bank and was issued a police report number.
– At 4:26 p.m. May 23 an officer was flagged down by a person who advised they had cut themself while sharpening a knife. He had a laceration his left pinky finger. The officer administered first aid by cleaning and observed the cut had gone to the meaty portion of his finger. He was advised he was going to need medical attention from a hospital and probably receive a few stitches. He was transported to the hospital by his wife.
– Police responded to the 3900 block of West Main Street, where the complainant advised her daughter was yelling loudly at someone outside the house and that she had become a nuisance to her entire family lately. The two were in a verbal dispute when police arrived however the situation dissolved and after speaking to both people it was determined that no crime had taken place, and police were only called to keep the peace.
– At 3:51 p.m. Wednesday, police and medical personnel responded to the 47000 block of Church Street. A woman there advised she was experiencing a lot of pain and her doctor advised that she be taken to the hospital in Boardman and she was transported there.
LISBON
– The police department filed a report for its role in helping county sheriff’s deputy serve warrants on the occupants of a house on North Jefferson Street at 10:12 a.m. Wednesday, which resulted in the discovery of a THC extraction lab on the premises. The report states that one of the occupants, 28-year-old Charles Green, allegedly tried to hide a bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the deputy. Police also found kerosene and oxygen tanks on the enclosed front porch. After Green was taken into custody, the deputy spoke with 23-year-old Amanda Davis, who also lives there, before arresting her. Davis was told about her children who live there and the condition of the house, but Davis said the caseworker was fine with how the home looked. Davis said the caseworker told Green it was OK to smoke weed as long it did not impair his parenting skills. Davis was then taken into custody. The house was found to be filthy, with dirty dishes and garbage everywhere. Dirty clothes were strewn about, and the kitchen counter was cluttered with dirty dishes containing rotten food. The bathroom was filthy and the litter boxes had not been cleaned for a long time.
– A caller reported a bunch of youths were climbing onto the roof of the county juvenile court building to retrieve a shoe at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday. The youths were gone by the time an officer arrived.
– A resident in the 300 block of East Lincoln Way reportedly at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday that a juvenile keeps driving fast through the alley. Police spoke with the juvenile and warned him.
– Mary Shulas, Maple Street, reported Kevin Criss was her house at 11 a.m. Tuesday and he is not allowed to be there because of a condition of his bond. Criss left before police arrived.

SALEM
– Police responded to the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 12:01 a.m Tuesday for an alarm and police found damage to two separate building doors. No one was located inside the building and police were unable to determine if anything was missing. Photos were taken of the doors and the keyholder responded.
– Police responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:53 p.m. Friday for a reckless operation complaint of a driver running a stop sign. There were several complaints and people wanted extra patrols.
– At 9:13 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 200 block of West Wilson Avenue for a report of people throwing items at a moving vehicle who were identified and admitted to doing it. While investigating the complaint, Jonathan L. Thorne, 215 Chris Ave., Apt. H2, Washingtonville was identified as having an outstanding warrant for OVI and falsification. He was also charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and was turned over to sheriff deputies. The other person, Adam L. Backius, 331 Newgarden Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct.
– Police responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Street at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday for a verbal dispute between a man and a woman. They were advised of domestic violence laws.
– At 8:39 p.m. Tuesday, police met a complainant from West 4th Street on station regarding several thefts in the 2800 block of East State Street. An investigation is pending.
– At 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 100 block of Sharp Avenue where the complainant reported fraudulent charges to their bank account. The complainant was in touch with the bank and a report number was issued.
– A large amount of smoke was spotted at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of South Ellsworth Avenue and it appeared to be outside the city limits. Perry Township firefighters responded and found they were burning pine needles which is prohibited by state law.
– Police responded to the 600 block of Olive Street at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday for a report of illegal dumping. A mattress and springs and other bedding were dumped by an unknown person and the complainant asked for extra patrol.
– Police responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:19 p.m. Tuesday where an employee reported something obscene written on the wooden sauna wall in the girls locker room. The incident is under investigation.
– At 1:54 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 400 block of West Pershing Street where the complainant wanted her live-in boyfriend removed and claimed he struck her. Police got both to calm down.
– Police responded to the 200 block of 200 North Cunningham Road at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday for a theft and harassment complaint. The complainant said he was being accused of stealing a Stihl concrete saw over the weekend. Police spoke to the management at the location who advised he wasn’t but the saw was missing on Saturday morning.
– At 3:27 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1100 block of East State Street and spoke to a man who was advised he was not wanted in the business anymore. He was advised of the complaint and he left with the understanding he was not to return to the store.
COLUMBIANA
– A caller reported at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday he discovered an object had been thrown through the window of Kitchen Solutions.
– A caller from 214 S. Bayshore Drive reported hearing what sounded like gunshots at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday. It turned out to be a resident making noises to scare geese away from the lake.
– An employee at Century Plant reported Tuesday finding items such as clothing disposed in their dumpster.
– An employee of Cash Lane reported a disoriented man walked in the lobby at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Police arrived and transported Richard Gorcheff to his home.
– Nicholas Costea reported a motorist was speeding and driving erratically on East Park Avenue at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
LISBON
– Terry Mullins, West Washington Street, reported Friday that Mark Shaw called him names when he came to pick up items at his home, and he wanted to file menacing charges. Mullins was told this was not a threat, but police spoke with Shaw and told him to stay away from Mullins.
– A caller reported two males were removing an air conditioner from a residence on Sherman Street at 3:23 p.m. Friday. Police knew the renter, who was contacted and told police the two men had permission to be there.
– A caller reported there were people fighting on West Lincoln Way at 3:34 p.m. May 20. Police checked the area but did not find anyone fighting.
– Police were called to Applegrove Apartments at 4:15 p.m. May 15 to stand by while a resident was transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.
– A caller reported there was a car parked at the pool at 10:28 p.m. Sunday and there was a door open at the pump house. Police arrived and began running a check on the vehicle’s license plate when two adults and three juveniles exited the Play Town playground. They were told the playground closes at 9 p.m. and to come back the next day. As for the pump house, an extension cord was found to be going from the pump house to the pool cleaner. The rest of the pool area appeared to be secure.
-Carlqa Blocksom, Pritchard Avenue, reported hearing a noise in her shed at 10:15 p.m. Sunday. Police checked the shed, which was found to have a lock.
-A highway patrol trooper reported there was a possibly impaired driver heading into town on state Route 517 at 10:22 p.m. Sunday. Police located the vehicle but no violations were observed.
– Jerry Aukerman, West Washington Street, called about an aggressive dog at 4:17 p.m. Sunday. The responding police officer said he was greeted by a white dog that did not act aggressively but the owner was told the canine needs to be on a leash.
-Police were called to North Market Street at 6:25 p.m. Sunday in regard to a child who fell off his bicycle and was now having a seizure. The boy’s grandfather was present while the child was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
– A caller reported objects were obstructing the sidewalk behind the Motorcycle Dream Shop on West Washington Street on Friday afternoon. Police spoke with owner Michael Skidmore, who agreed to move the ATV blocking the sidewalk.
– Miranda Corbin, 36, of Wellsville, was cited for speeding in town on Tuesday.

SALEM
– Police responded to a Cedar Ridge Drive home at 6:32 p.m. Monday where a woman reported a motorized scooter had been stolen from a friend’s garage the prior day. Officers determined that the friend had sold the scooter without permission after the complainant received a text from another woman regarding the scooter after the complainant posted the information on social media. The complainant chose not to pursue charges and the friend was warned to refund the buyer.
– Nicole M. Linger, 20, 2334 Woodsdale Road, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a theft charge after an officer observed her driving in the 300 block of West Wilson Street at 8:45 p.m. Monday.
– Francisco Martin-Jose, 28, 610 E. Third St., Salem, was charged with domestic violence after officers responded to the home at 9:23 p.m. Monday for a report of someone with a knife and found him stabbing the wall inside and his family standing outside.
– A patrolling officer observed a pickup stopped along side of a business in the 400 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:45 p.m. Monday. Due to recent thefts from semi trucks in the area, the officer initiated a traffic stop. The driver said that he pulled over to retrieve a phone number from his cell phone. The officer observed nothing unusual.
PERRY TWP.
– Amy Menough, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Liberty Street and Overlook Drive at 3:21 p.m. Monday in which she was southbound on Overlook Drive and pulled from the stop sign, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Autum Ketchum, Salem. Ketchum was transported to the Salem hospital for treatment.
– Police responded to the 400 block of Stewart Road at 3:43 p.m. Monday for a report of target shooters firing rounds that were going into the back yard of residences in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road. Police spoke with a male resident who said that he was shooting a rifle, but is always careful. He was warned of the complaint.
– Police took a report of male runaway/missing juvenile allegedly in South Carolina. The juvenile was entered into LEADS as a missing person, with an investigation pending.
– Tyler J. Gardner, 22, Prospect Street, Salem, was charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest following a physical confrontation with officers after they responded to Salem Acres home for a report of an unwanted person. Gardner declined medical treatment and was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
– Police conducted a traffic stop on Johnson Avenue at Michigan Avenue at 11:38 a.m. Thursday and the driver, Ramona Richoz, 280 Ridge St., Leetonia, was driving without a valid drivers license. She also provided the wrong information regarding her identity. She was arrested and taken into custody and cited for no drivers license, a red light violation and obstruction of official business and taken to the Columbiana County jail.
– Police assisted the Columbiana County Children Services with a child removal in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 4:04 p.m. May 19.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– Earl R. Kelvington III, 61, Tallmadge, was charged with driving two counts of operating a vehicle intoxicated, possession of marijuana, improperly handling firearms while intoxicated and speed following a traffic stop on state Route 165 between Pine Lake Road and state Route 14 at 7:37 p.m. Saturday. During the investigation officers found a loaded handgun and a tin of marijuana in a bag on the back of the seat of his motorcycle.
– Ryan C. Smith, 37, 560 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem, was charged with two counts of operating a vehicle intoxicated following a traffic stop for speed on U.S. Route 62 near Middletown Road at 2:56 a.m. Sunday.
COLUMBIANA

– Adam M. Stone, 26, Salem, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash on North Ellsworth Avenue at 3:53 p.m. Sunday. He was westbound on East Seventh Street in a Ford F350 work truck and pulled from the stop sign, striking a motorcycle driven by David W. Tomchik, 62, East Palestine. Tomchik and his passenger, Marietta L. Tomchik, 63, East Palestine, were both ejected from the motorcycle. They were transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
– Ray F. Woods II, 23, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash in the 400 block of East State Street at 4:24 p.m. Sunday in which he was westbound and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Keith B. Watson, 47, Beloit. No injuries were reported.
– Officers responded to a Franklin Avenue home at 5:22 p.m. Sunday where the resident reported someone had taken several items from his home without permission.
– A North Union Avenue resident reported at 5:43 p.m. Sunday that someone had stolen her credit card used it at several locations in the city.
– A woman reported a verbal dispute with the father of her children regarding custody when she attempted to pick them up from visitation with the father on Pearce Circle at 6:11 p.m. Sunday. She said the father had made several threatening remarks toward her boyfriend during the argument.
– Tomasa De La Cruz Perez, 23, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and expire license following a two-vehicle crash on North Lincoln Avenue at East Third Street at 7:40 p.m. Sunday in which she was southbound and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Mary K. Bowers, 76, Salem, who was stopped to make a left turn onto East Third Street. No injuries were reported.
– Officers responded to the 200 block of South Howard Avenue at 11:31 p.m. Sunday for a report of individuals in two separate vehicles arguing with one another. The vehicles were gone by the time officers arrived.
– Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of East Third Street at 3:59 a.m. Monday and found a pregnant woman who said that a man of the home had assaulted her and then fled the area. First Responders and ambulance responded, but the woman refused treatment. The officers returned later when the man returned to the home. He gathered his clothes and left. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.
PERRY TOWNSHIP REPORTS
– Police responded to a home in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 9:18 p.m. Friday where two tires on a vehicle were slashed. Police were familiar with the suspect and information was sent to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.
– While an officer was refueling a cruiser at 9:53 Friday, a woman reported that her friend had been involved in a domestic dispute on Depot Road near the state Route 45 intersection in which the man had exited the vehicle and was walking toward Salem. The woman said that she was concerned for his welfare. The officer checked the area and found him walking along the edge of the street inside the city.
– Lora McMahan, 50, Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop at 12:18 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of West State Street.
– Police responded to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 9:41 p.m. Saturday for a sign being too bright for motorists. Police checked the sign finding it to be no hazard.
– While on an unrelated medical call in the 1300 block of Pembrooke Drive at 6:43 a.m. Sunday, a KLG ambulance was struck by another vehicle on a private drive causing cosmetic damage.
– Police responded to a noise complaint at Pembrooke Apartments at 12:13 a.m. Monday where people were having a party outside. They were advised to turn down the music.
LISBON REPORTS
– Police were called to the area of state Route 154 by the highway patrol at 5:18 p.m. Saturday for a report of a red Dodge Ram 2500 to be stopped and held until their arrival. Police made the traffic stop on Jackson Street and stood by until the trooper arrived.
– Police were called to 228 Lee St. at 1 a.m. Saturday for a report that Zachary Willis gained entry into the home by force and assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Ashlei Conkle. Willis, 21, state route 172, East Rochester, was charged with domestic violence and placed under arrest for an active warrant through the county.
– Police stood by at a West Washington Street address at 1 p.m. Thursday until EMS arrived for a medical call.
COLUMBIANA REPORTS
– Jerrod Burnette requested at 3:35 a.m. Sunday police check on his sister Rhonie, who was walking somewhere along South Main Street and was possibly drunk. Police could not find the woman.
– A woman reported at 10:24 a.m. Sunday there were three kids standing outside Heartland Christian School and one was attempting to enter a window through the South Elm Street side by the playground. Police spoke with the child who explained he was retrieving a ball from the area and was only on his way back through.
– A woman reported at 11:46 a.m. Sunday a man and woman were fighting along North Main Street and were blowing their car horns at each other. Police found the man and woman were not in an argument but were running late for an event and were blowing the horn trying to rush to get there.
– Susan Berger, address not listed, reported at noon Sunday someone damaged her son’s bicycle.
– Police checked on a report of a suspicious truck exiting the Industrial Park along state Route 14 at 1 p.m. Sunday but did not see the vehicle.
– A woman reported at 2:22 p.m. Sunday there was a car parked near Funland in the park with a bloodhound left inside. The woman reported the windows were down but the dog appeared to be panting heavily. Police checked on the dog and found that water and food had been left inside the car. Police refilled the dog’s water through the windows that were down and left a note for the owner to contact the police department.
– A man reported at 2:53 p.m. Sunday he could see smoke and smell wood burning in the area of North Cross and Cross streets. Police checked and found someone was cooking using a small fire and were not breaking any laws.
– Police assisted the fire department with a report of an oven fire on Manor Drive.
– Ashley Hall reported at 8:16 p.m. Sunday her son had welts on his arm from an unknown accident.

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 12:44 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of East Pershing Street. Police spoke to both parties and found it was just a misunderstanding over trimming tree branches.
– A woman reported at 9:30 a.m. Sunday that she saw an elderly female walking northbound on Depot Road and picked her up. She seemed confused, so she brought her to the police station. A short time later, a family member contacted police to report the woman missing and was told she was at the station. Family members responded to pick her up.
– A woman in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard reported at 8:19 a.m. Sunday that she had a friend over night and when she woke up, she had money and medication missing.
– A domestic was reported in the 1200 block of Maple Street at 7:48 a.m. Sunday. A man said he didn’t want his grandson to live there anymore due to some money issues. The grandson was gone before police arrived. Police explained the eviction process.
– An alarm was reported at 5:51 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Benton Road. The exterior of the building was secure.
– Police responded at 4:07 a.m. Sunday to an unknown dispute in the 300 block of West Ninth Street involving a man yelling with no shirt on. Officers could hear the person yelling and made contact, learning he locked himself out of his house and was unable to wake his roommate. Officers were able to contact the roommate and the man was let back inside.
– A reckless operator was reported at 12:51 a.m. Sunday on North Howard Avenue, but was not found.
– Loud persons were reported on Carole Drive at 12:32 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block. Officers spoke to a man who said while he was outside, a male known to him smashed his head into a car window. He chose not to pursue the matter.
– Police were called to the 400 block of East Second Street at 12:26 a.m. Sunday for a report of two suspicious people near the Salem Computer Center business. Officers made contact and the people said they were just using the wi-fi from the business.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 12:23 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of East Third Street. A female said there were no issues. She had been talking to someone and may have raised her voice.
– A possible fight was reported at 11:51 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of East Second Street where two people said they were having a verbal dispute, but nothing physical occurred. They were told to quiet down and leave the area.
– A fight was reported at 10:57 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East Third Street where a woman was seen yelling at a man on the front step of the apartment and several other people were on the sidewalk out front also yelling. Police learned a boyfriend and girlfriend who have a child together had an argument when he allegedly came home intoxicated. He allegedly pushed her and her mother then confronted him and began yelling at him. He agreed to stay at a friend’s for the night. The mother and girlfriend wanted nothing more done.
– A verbal altercation was reported at 10:36 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Jennings Avenue. The tenants said there was no problem. Police learned two neighbors across the street were having a conversation that got too loud.
– Police were called at 10:23 p.m. Saturday to check on the well-being of a juvenile in the area of North Ellsworth Avenue based on a text message and photo received by another juvenile. The juvenile explained they were old pictures and no injury had occurred. The father was told to call police if there’s a problem.
– A barking dog was reported at 10:20 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Woodland Avenue, with a tag left for the owner.
– A woman in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 8:31 p.m. Saturday that she had been to Walmart at 6:30 p.m. and took a cab and one of her packages were missing. She said the cab driver helped her load and unload her purchases. She said a bag of several items of clothing was missing and she was unsure if she left it in the cab or at the business. The cab driver responded and said no bags were left in the cab and she checked the business to make sure no bag was left at the counter or turned in. Officers checked the store receipt and were unable to locate any clothing items listed as purchased. They’ll follow up with store video.
– A cell phone was reported found in the woods behind Salem Commons on Lexington Avenue at 7:28 p.m. Saturday and turned over to police.
– An ATV was reported on private property at 7:03 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Cherry Street, but no violations were found.
– A Leetonia resident reported at 6:20 p.m. Saturday that their unoccupied parked vehicle was damaged in a hit/skip near Cashland in the 2500 block of East State Street. There were numerous gouges in the paint and scraped paint on the fender.
– A barking dog was reported in the 1200 block of Mound Street at 6:16 p.m. Saturday, but no violation was found.
– A clerk at Smith Oil, 900 block of East State Street, reported at 6:06 p.m. Saturday that a female driving a brown Chevy Impala left without paying for $27 in gas.
– A suspicious animal sighting was reported at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street in a neighbor’s yard. Nothing was located.
– Two people in the 500 block of East Third Street reported at 4:28 p.m. Saturday that they were threatened and wanted to press charges. Information will be sent to the prosecutor.
– A barking dog was reported at 3:35 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Prospect Street. A small dog was in a fenced-in back yard. The owner had just come home and was taking the dog inside.
– Loud music was reported at 3:32 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue. Tenants turned down the music.
– A woman on Franklin Avenue reported at 2:16 p.m. Saturday that her garage door window was broken out.
– Police were called for suspicious activity in the 500 block of Cherry Street where a van was parked in front with two males. They said they were just looking. They were told to look up the property online. When they asked if anything was for sale, they were told to contact the owner.
– A civil matter over a dog was reported at 1:05 p.m. Saturday on Third Street between a man and woman who are separated.
– A man in the 500 block of Cherry Street reported harassment at 12:38 p.m. Saturday, saying his neighbor has been recording them riding their 4-wheeler on their own property. The neighbor told police he did record them but because part of where they were riding was not their property. Both sides were told their options.
– A woman in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 10:56 a.m. Saturday that she put her keys in the door lock and went inside her residence to grab her purse and returned to find the keys gone. She was told to look inside for them and call police if she finds them.

– While on patrol at 4:26 a.m. Saturday police found a man-made fire in the middle of the roadway at the railroad camp, which was recently put out. No one was found in the area.
– James Weikart reported at 12:33 p.m. Saturday someone may be dumping trash in his dumpster at Cashland.
– Kassandra Jaffe of Pet Hydrant reported at 3:07 p.m. Saturday a person was inside the store who was not welcome there. He left before police arrived.
– Christal Carr of Washingtonville was stopped in traffic facing east on state Route 14 waiting to turn left onto Windjammer Drive at 6:15 p.m. Saturday when she was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Brianna McNeese of New Waterford. McNeese was cited with assured clear distance and a seat belt violation.
– A reckless driver was reported in the Taco Bell lot at 7:12 p.m. Saturday. The man reportedly was driving a green Chevy Silverado and appeared confused. He pulled into the Burger King lot and at one point it was believed he passed out as he sat with his head down. Police spoke to the man, who did not seem to have any issues.
– A reckless driver was reported on West Salem Street and North Main, driving with the lights off and swerving at 10:06 p.m. Saturday. Police found the gray Jetta, which had no tail lights. The driver was allowed to use four-ways to continue home.
– A rowdy party was reported in the area of the Dutch Village Inn at 11:58 p.m. Saturday. Police received several noise complaints from customers.

– Police were called at 1:15 a.m. Saturday for a 911 hangup call in the 700 block of South Lundy Avenue. The female at the residence said there was no problem. She did not know the name that officers provided for the 911 call.
– A clerk at Circle K West, 780 W. State St., reported at 12:46 a.m. Saturday that an unknown person concealed a bottle and left without paying for it. No one was found.
-A woman on Continental Drive reported a possible prowler at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, saying she could hear juveniles talking outside her bedroom window. Officers checked the area on foot and found nobody.
– Police were dispatched at 12:06 a.m. Saturday to Salem Regional Medical Center to take a female into custody for a parole violation at the request of the Adult Parole Department. Samantha Sisco, 26, of Eden Valley, Pa., who also had an address in East Palestine, was taken into custody.
– Police responded with the fire department at 9:59 p.m. Friday to the Smith Center, 500 E. Fourth St., for a suspicious odor. The building was checked and nothing suspicious was found.
– An anonymous person came to the police station at 9:14 p.m. Friday to report suspicious activity on Mullins, saying he believes he witnessed a drug exchange. He was able to provide the name of one of the persons involved and the description of a vehicle another person was driving. The information will be passed on to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force officer.
– A custody dispute/unruly juvenile report was filed at 7:13 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of East Fifth Street.
– Jerry Billingsley, 19, of Georgetown Road, was cited for assured clear distance after his eastbound vehicle on West State Street struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle driven by Douglas Graybeal, 34, of New Albany, who was stopped in traffic at 6:37 p.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.
– A domestic was reported at Walmart, 2875 E. State St., at 6:18 p.m. Friday when a woman reported she and a male were having an argument and she wanted separated from him. The male left the area. Officers stood by while the woman safely departed.
– Police were called at 5:04 p.m. Friday to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue for a person to be removed. The caller reported he allowed two people he didn’t know to stay the night and now he wanted them removed. Officers spoke with the two people who said they were leaving as soon as a ride arrived. At 5:40 p.m., police were called back to the same residence for an alleged theft, locating the suspect walking on Franklin near Ohio carrying the item reportedly stolen. The man gave conflicting stories on how he obtained the item. Officers spoke to the caller at the residence and he said the person in question took a video gaming system without permission. Kasmond Parker, 28, of Youngstown was charged with theft. Officers also located suspected drug paraphernalia in his possession, with charges pending.

– While on patrol at 2:23 a.m. Friday police found lights on at the garage at The Links. The building was found to be secure.
– A woman on South Bayshore Drive reported hearing possible gunshots at 3:12 p.m. Friday. It was found out to be noise from a device being used to scare away geese.
– George Paparodis, no address listed, reported at 3:24 p.m. Friday someone opened a credit card in his name in 2004.
– Kyle Karcher of Negley was stopped in traffic facing eastbound on state Route 14 at state Route 7 at 5:47 p.m. Friday when Tara Guy of East Palestine struck his vehicle from behind. Guy was cited for assured clear distance.
– A golf cart was reportedly being driven down the road on South Main Street near Union Avenue at 6:22 p.m. Friday. Police were unable to locate it.
– Police stopped a vehicle at Newton’s on state Route 7 at 7:33 p.m. Friday and found the driver, Oliver Aeschbacher, 26, had a warrant from Carroll County. He was transferred to Carroll County’s sheriff’s office.
– A man reported at 10:05 p.m. Friday someone threw a water bottle at him while he was driving down the road.
– A woman reported at 9:26 p.m. Friday there was a loose beagle at Save A Lot with no tags on its collar. The dog was returned to its owner.

– Police responded to the 300 block of West State Street at 7:54 a.m. and found a severe water line break. The water and street departments were notified and police stood by until the road was blocked off.
– A complainant from the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge advised police at 11:04 p.m. Friday, they left their car in the Fuel Club parking lot with a flat tire. They had the owner’s permission to leave it there and when they returned to fix it on Wednesday the car was gone. Information was taken.
– At 10:26 a.m. Friday, police located a backpack with DVD’s Big Hero 6, and other items in it and it was placed in the lost and found.
– At 12:28 p.m. Friday, police received a complaint from a person who was parked in the East Second Street plaza lot and their vehicle was struck by another that left the scene. There was minor damage and the complainant’s wife obtained a license plate number that came back to a Lisbon owner.
– Police responded to the 200 block of Penn Avenue at 10:44 p.m. Thursday for a domestic over finances between a husband and wife. Information was gathered through a translator and it was learned the man smacked his wife in the head and tried to take one of the children away from her. She was taken to the hospital due to the fact she recently had surgery. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the husband who was gone when police arrived.
– Police responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 12:39 p.m. Thursday for a report of threats and menacing and was advised through a translator that a man threatened her and her family. Hardly any information was obtained.
– Police responded to the 600 block of Arch Street for medical call where the door may have been locked and a woman was transported to the hospital.
– Police responded to the 600 block of East Fifth Street for a juvenile problem and the complainant was advised they were civil issues.
– At 6:54 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 400 block of Fair Avenue where the complainant advised he had an item stolen in the past and believed he may have located it. An officer checked it and found no evidence it was stolen.
– Police responded to the Newgarden Avenue area near the railroad tracks at 6:22 p.m. Thursday and located two juveniles who were playing near the tracks. An adult who was working nearby said he will keep a closer watch on them.
– At 6:01 p.m. Thursday, police responded to Centennial Park near Maple Street where a portable toilet was on fire. Police and the fire department extinguished it and witnesses advised several juveniles were observed in the area prior to the fire. Police checked the are but were unable to locate them.
– At 4:40 p.m. Thursday, a complainant was on station regarding a possible fight he observed on a social medial page and wanted the incident documented.

– A caller reported man was loitering about in the Save-A-Lot parking lot at 9 p.m. Thursday and asking customers for money. The suspect was gone by the time police arrived.

– Police found high grass zoning violations at a home on Park Place near Fitzpatrick Avenue, a home on Lakefront Avenue and homes at 126 W. Park Ave. and 137 N. Elm St. on Thursday.
– Wendi Pancake of Columbiana was stopped in traffic northbound on North Main Street at 5 p.m. Thursday and Michael King of Canton was also northbound and struck Pancake from behind. King was cited for assured clear distance.
– Someone reported at 5:12 p.m. Thursday there was a car driving down the sidewalk in the area of North Main and Seventh streets. Police checked but did not find the car.

– Police were called at 10:45 a.m. Thursday to Arch Street where a female was having a medical issue. She was treated by fire department first responders and transported to Salem Regional Medical Center after Damascus EMS responded. Both EMT and KLG ambulance companies were unavailable.
– Police responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:13 p.m. Wednesday for a telecommunications harassment complaint. A woman babysat and said she had a dispute with the mother of the child she watched, resulting in numerous text messages from the other person, some she considered harassing in nature. An officer made contact with the other person and advised her of the potential criminal charges if she persisted with harassing texts and phone calls or social media.
– An intoxicated pedestrian was reported in the area of East State Street and Highland Avenue at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday. The person was located on Brooklyn Avenue and said he was walking home. Aside from a slow pace, the officer saw no indications that he was a danger to himself or others. The officer monitored his walk home after a second complaint alleging he was walking in the middle of Third Street. The only time the officer saw him in the street was when he crossed it to get to the other side.
– A barking dog was reported at 6:57 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of West School Street. Police monitored the area and no violation was found.
– A caller at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday reported suspicious activity in a vehicle in the Salem Plaza parking lot, 2350 E. State St. An officer spoke to a male and female, both observed to be fully clothed at that time, and advised them that certain activities are unacceptable in public and someone called to report they were behaving inappropriately.
– An audible alarm was reported at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of West Ninth Street. The exterior of the building was secure.
– A solicitor was reported at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Vine Avenue. An officer arrived and found a representative of the U.S. Census Bureau.
– A woman in the 200 block of East Second Street reported at 4:57 p.m. Wednesday that several juveniles threw an item at her vehicle. There was no damage and the juveniles were gone.
– A report of fraud was taken at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of East Fourth Street. A woman reported she had charges on her account from another state.
– A woman on Cleveland Street reported at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday that her daughter was picked up at her residence by her paternal grandparents without permission at 2 p.m. Tuesday. She said she has custody and it was her day to have the girl. The girl was taken to their home and she was able to pick her daughter up from school on Wednesday when school let out. She told her attorney about it and doesn’t want the grandparents coming to her residence or interfering with custody.

– A woman reported at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday someone in a green colored Chevy truck was driving recklessly on South Main Street. Police were able to locate the vehicle but did not see any traffic violations.
– Dave Coie reported at 8 a.m. Wednesday someone in an older green Dodge pickup with a trailer loaded up about 40 pallets from Ace Hardware and drove away. The man later reported learning the driver was supposed to be picking up the pallets and there was no problem.
– Gary Newton, Washingtonville, reported at 2:51 p.m. Wednesday someone he knows came into D’Lux Motors to discuss an ongoing court case and he requested the person leave.
– Gary Leonard reported at 5:31 p.m. Wednesday two dogs were running loose in the Firestone Cemetery near Bell Avenue. Police checked the area but did not find the dogs.
– Rebecca Thompson, Columbiana, was cited for suspended operator’s license and improper turn following a traffic stop at Taco Bell at 6:28 p.m. Wednesday.

– While investigating a trash complaint on East Washington Street at 1:13 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Shar Daub saw a small dog tied up with no food or water. The dog also appeared to be underfed, so the county dog warden was notified. When Sunshine Burely called in about the garbage outside her house, she was told this was the fourth time police had spoken with someone at the apartment about the problem and that as the renter she was responsible. As for the dog, Burely said it belongs to Corey Miller, who also lives there, and she said he never feeds the dog.
– A clerk at the BP station reported at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday that three people had just came into the store to purchase individual cans of beer. The trio said they were trying to get to Youngstown to catch a train, and when police arrived only a female was loitering around outside. She said her two male companions had already left and she was trying to find a ride to Maine. Police warned her about drinking beer in public.

– Kathryn A. Matheson, 20, Sunset Drive, was charged with wrongful entrustment of her motor vehicle to her husband after he was arrested in town on Wednesday for driving with a suspended license.

– An officer traveling south on Ellsworth Avenue at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday was stopped by a male who said he found a debit/credit card on the ground near Club Fuel on Railroad Street. The owner was contacted and said she already got a new card, telling police to destroy the one found.
– A lost item was brought to the police station at 9:39 a.m. Wednesday from Penn Avenue. The owner was contacted.
– Police were called at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday for suspicious activity at a store in the Salem Plaza, 2350 E. State St., where customers were found outside and no one had come to open the business at its usual time. A female employee was contacted and said she would see what was going on, then the other manager from the store downtown came and advised they were going to help out. All appeared to be fine, the store just didn’t open. The lights are on a timer, which is why they were on.
– A dispute between a male and female on Monroe Street was reported at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday. No violence occurred, just an argument. The female left on foot after both sides spoke to police.
– A dog was reported in the road in the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, but was not found.
– Debris was reported in the road in the 100 block of West State Street at 5:09 a.m. Wednesday. Officers found numerous plastic bottles and ice and moved them to the side.
– Police responded to a medical in the 300 block of Penn Avenue at 3:09 a.m. Wednesday and stood by as medical personnel assessed a female and transported her to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– Loud persons were reported at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of East Euclid. A caller said a male and female were arguing next door. All parties said there was no problem and they were told to keep it down.
– A woman reported at 1:46 a.m. Wednesday that she was driving by her daughter’s home in the 400 block of Columbia Street and found her vehicle had eggs thrown on it.
– A 17-year-old Salem boy was cited for a juvenile traffic offense for failure to maintain control after police investigated a report at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday of a black pickup that ran off the road and into a yard near East State Street and South Madison Avenue. The vehicle reportedly accelerated too quickly while turning from State onto Madison. The caller gave a description and followed the debris on Southeast Boulevard as far as Ridgewood. Officers saw a vehicle fitting the description and made a traffic stop on South Lincoln Avenue. The juvenile driver initially denied driving off the road, but acknowledged his responsibility after officers explained the criminal charges for giving false information. A witness stopped and affirmed it was that truck.
– An officer on patrol at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday saw two different people dressed in similar clothing carrying clipboards within a block of each other at East Third Street and Highland and contacted dispatch to see if anyone had solicitor’s permits. One permit had been issued for one person. The officer made contact with the two people and learned they were soliciting for Erie Construction and they had not obtained a permit because they were unaware of the requirement. They said they would tell the boss and stop.
– Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:24 p.m. Tuesday to check the well-being of a resident who sustained minor injuries after falling earlier. An off-duty officer had stopped to assist the person at the time of the fall and said the person declined medical assistance. The person was contacted and said they were okay, thanking officers for their assistance and concern.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday on South Lincoln Avenue, with police finding it was an argument between two roommates. Both claimed an assault occurred but neither wanted to pursue the matter. They were told to avoid each other.
– Robert K. Turner, 47, of 294 Brooklyn Ave., was taken into custody at 2:08 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of East State Street for an active arrest warrant.
– A mother in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard reported at 8 a.m. Monday that her 13-year-old son in seventh grade was refusing to go to school. After a short discussion with police, he agreed to go and discuss things with his mother on the way.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– Paul R. Wilke, 48, 13993 W. Pine Lake Road, Salem, cited for failure to confine dog, a minor misdemeanor, after his dog allegedly leapt into the road nearly striking the cruiser of a patrolling officer and forcing the officer to take evasive action at 7:31 p.m. Tuesday. According to the police report, the officer spoke with Wilke, who had previously been warned for failing to keep his dogs on the property, and Wilke claimed that they were “free range dogs” and the officers needed to address other issues in the township. Wilke became irate when issued the citation and refused to sign it or provide proof of dog registration. He and his wife argued with officers regarding the citation and other matters before the wife took a copy of the citation, then tossed it back onto an officer’s clipboard and becoming irate again. They were warned Wilke had to show up for his court date or have a warrant put out for failure to appear.
COLUMBIANA
– Police found the lights on at the building at the Metz ball fields at 12:43 a.m. Tuesday. There were no problems.
– A Columbiana County Sheriff’s deputy requested assistance at 4:36 a.m. Tuesday at 3302 state Route 164 for a report that someone believed a suspect from a break-in was still inside the home. Police were en route to the home but the call was canceled after someone determined the suspect was not inside the home.
– A state Route 7 man reported at noon Tuesday he was scammed on the Internet. He reported that he sent money for marijuana and grow lights that he wanted to purchase and he didn’t receive them. The man was referred to the county sheriff’s office since he lived outside the city.
– A man, name and address not listed, reported telecommunication harassment at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday.
– A man reported at 8:51 p.m. Tuesday his ex-wife was driving recklessly whenever she comes to pick up their daughter at the Sunoco at the state Routes 7 and 14 intersection. Police checked but the woman was no longer there.
SALEM TWP.
– Someone reported at 1:09 p.m. Tuesday a burgundy Chevy had been traveling on Old state Route 344, when they drove into Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Grafton Road, and over some headstones. Someone in charge of the cemetery was notified and determined it did not appear any headstones were damaged, just grass damage from the tire tracks.

– Scott Matheson, 22, Sunset Drive, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Sherman Street at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. He was also issued a warning for driving with a faulty exhaust.
– Emily Cochran, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, reported her vehicle was struck by another vehicle driven by Tammy Ketchum, Steubenville Pike, while in the Rite Aid parking lot at 10:36 a.m. Monday.
– A mother reported May 14 that her son was being bullied at school. She indicated she was working with the school to resolve the problem.
– Two people called about a man who became angry after a woman motorist cut in front of him at the BP station at 10:35 a.m. May 12. The woman reportedly apologized, saying she did not realize he was in line. A witness who was in line behind the irate man said the man asked him if there was a problem and then flashed a gun and told him he was not afraid to use it. The man was driving a green Blazer with a white stripe.

SALEM
– Police responded to an alarm activation at Stone Castle Trail at 2:28 a.m. Tuesday. All outer perimeter doors and windows were checked and appeared secure.
– A woman in the 1500 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 7:55 p.m. Monday that her juvenile son ran away from home. He was entered into the law enforcement data base. Police also checked other locations where he may have gone.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 7:25 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of South Howard Avenue where police spoke with both people involved, learning it was a verbal dispute over property. No physical violence occurred. An officer stood by while the female gathered her belongings and left.
– A civil matter was reported at 7:24 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of East State Street. The problem was resolved after officers explained the situation to both parties.
– Police were called to the area of Rose Avenue and East Third Street at 7:20 p.m. Monday for two dogs at large. One dog was located on East Sixth Street near Hawley Avenue, but would not allow the officer to approach. It was eventually contained in a parking lot in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue by a passing motorist. A pedestrian assisted as the officer attempted to identify the owner through the dog tag. The owner was contacted and responded. The other dog, owned by the same person, had already returned home on its own. The children had left the door open, allowing the dogs to get out.
– A man from the 100 block of South Howard Avenue came to the station at 7:04 p.m. Monday, wanting his ex-girlfriend removed from the residence where they both lived. He was told the landlord would have to start the eviction process.
– Police were called at 5:53 p.m. Monday to the 800 block of South Union Avenue for a report of an illegally parked/abandoned vehicle. An attempt was made to contact the owner, but was unsuccessful. A warning tag was left on the vehicle.
– A man in the 100 block of South Union Avenue reported suspicious activity at 5:22 p.m. Monday, saying he believed someone entered his residence and put some sort of chemicals on his cat. When he wiped the chemicals off the cat, he started to get a weird feeling in his hands and arms. He said he went to the hospital, but they were unable to locate any chemical. He was told to call police if he sees any suspicious activity or person at his residence.
– Police were called for a large tree in the road at 5 p.m. Monday at Hawley Avenue and East Third Street. A large limb had snapped off of a tree. An officer and another man were able to pull it into the curb lawn and out of the way of traffic.
– A resident in the 500 block of East Fourth Street reported a case of menacing occurred at 4:15 p.m. Monday on the park playground off of East School Street. Information will be sent for review. The suspect was not located.
– A reckless operator was reported at 3:29 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of East Pershing Street. A vehicle fitting the description was found on Monroe, but the owner was not located.
– A neighbor dispute was reported at 1:31 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Cherry Street. The caller said a person keeps riding an ATV in the street and on a vacant lot near his residence. Officers spoke with the person who said he had permission from the landowner to be on the property. He was told to stay off the street and only ride on the property where he has permission.
– A domestic was reported at 1:13 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of West Pershing Street where people were found outside and a female went inside. The male said there was no violence and the officer saw no physical marks on him. Another officer spoke with the female who said an argument started and the male became violent and began throwing things around inside. She claimed he threw macaroni and cheese on her but there were no signs of this and nothing on her. She said she didn’t have any injuries. Due to no evidence or proof, there was no probable cause to arrest either party. The male was taken to an east end business while the female was packing to leave.
– A caller at 11:51 a.m. Monday reported a suspicious vehicle filled with several people including children not properly restrained. An officer located the vehicle in the city with no one around, then located the owner and advised him of the complaint and consequences.
– An alleged assault was reported at 7:23 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where a man reported he and another person got into an argument when it turned physical. He said the other person grabbed him by the back of the neck and knocked him down onto the concrete patio. Officers did not observe any physical injuries to the victim, who refused medical attention.
PERRY Township
– A female juvenile was taken into custody for delinquency for a charge of domestic violence after police were called at 9:22 p.m. Monday for a juvenile complaint in the 1200 block of Somerset Drive. The female juvenile had assaulted another juvenile in the residence and made threats of violence towards adults in the residence. Police officers found a knife and a pair of scissors hidden underneath the offending juvenile’s bed. She was taken to the Tobin detention center.
– Police were called at 8:28 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of Springdale Street for a report of a suspicious person driving a silver Dodge van going door to door. Police didn’t find the vehicle or person.
– Police were called at 3:36 p.m. Monday to the 1400 block of Elberon Avenue for a complaint about a juvenile. The male juvenile did not want to return to his mother. Police spoke with the juvenile and convinced him to go home with her.
– Police filed charges of child endangerment against Clifford Poynter Jr., 29, and Victoria Poynter , 25, both of 1133 Prospect St., Salem, after a caller reported a small child unattended with no clothes on at 12:13 p.m. Monday. When police arrived, the caller pointed to the area where the child was last seen. Officers located the 4-year-old child, who was reportedly wandering around for about an hour according to Chief Mike Emigh, then police attempted to make contact with the parents at the residence. Emigh said officers had to physically wake up the parents, who were sleeping at the time, and contacted Children Services and the juvenile prosecutor’s office. Police filed the charges after speaking with both the prosecutor and Children Services who will be investigating the complaint. Clifford Poynter Jr. was also charged with a minor misdemeanor for drug paraphernalia for a pipe located at the apartment.
Salem Township
– Constable Dan Valentine received a report from a resident in the 38000 block of old state Route 344, Leetonia, at 10:30 p.m. Monday advising she had two telephone calls from someone claiming to be with the IRS instructing her to contact them back as soon as possible to avoid further consequences. She believed the calls were not legitimate. She was given numbers to contact the IRS directly to verify they were calling her, but it did appear to be a scam.
– Valentine responded to the 400 block of Leetonia Road near the Crestview Road intersection in which the vehicle operated by Shelby M. Paparodis, 369 Lake Ave., Salem, was southbound on Leetonia Road and swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and hit a ditch embankment. The crash was not reported and Valentine located the driver later who said it occurred at 2 a.m. Sunday.She was cited for failure to control and no seat belt.
Columbiana
– A woman reported at 11 a.m. Monday someone in a white Ford with Pennsylvania license plates was driving erratically on state Route 14 near state Route 164. Police checked the area but did not see the vehicle.
– Police stood by for traffic control at noon Monday on state Route 7 north of state Route 14 while the electric crew removed a downed AT&T line from the road.
– Solicitors permits were issued to Jason and Valerie Mangus of Leetonia for J&V Lawn Care at 12:32 p.m. Monday.
– Danielle Garner, North Main Street, reported theft of a prescription drug at 12:43 p.m. Monday.
– Ronald Hagen, West Park Avenue, requested at 4:30 p.m. Monday police escort him to his home.
– Wanda Cervello reported at 5:10 p.m. Monday there was a possible water main break at 121 W. Salem St. Police checked the area but did not see a water main break.
– A man requested at 7 p.m. Monday police escort a Sparkle employee to the bank. The escort was made with no issues.
– Greg Aker reported at 7:20 p.m. Monday there was a purse with some credit cards in a sewer grate near Eldon and Beverly streets.

– Mary Jarvis, Vine Street, East Liverpool, reportedly backed into a parked vehicle belonging to Michael Bugara of Alliance in the Columbiana County Courthouse parking lot at 10:52 a.m. Monday.

SALEM
– Officers were requested at 10:46 a.m. Monday to deliver a message to an address on Benton Road for Leetonia Police, but no one was home.
– Police were called at 9:09 a.m. Monday to the 1400 block of Maple Street near Centennial Park for a report of drug paraphernalia. A woman said there were several syringes in the playground area. Officers checked the entire area, but were unable to locate any. They advised several parents in the area with their children to be cautious and call police if they find any drug paraphernalia.
– Michelle Hum, of the 400 block of Ohio Avenue, reported at 8:44 a.m. Monday that sometime in the last few nights, fuel was siphoned from her vehicle’s gas tank. She was told to call if she sees anyone acting suspicious in the area and that she might want to invest in a locking gas cap.
– Luke Worden, of the 200 block of Rose Avenue, reported at 2:44 a.m. Monday that two tires on his girlfriend’s mother’s car were slashed.
– A man on North Lincoln Avenue reported at 11:01 p.m. Sunday that he suffered a puncture wound to his hand while using the bathroom at Walmart, 2875 E. State St., at 8:30 p.m., saying that someone had placed an unfastened safety pin out of sight beneath the toilet paper roll. Upon him grasping from the roll, the pin stuck in his right hand. He notified employees and a manager and the bathroom was temporarily closed and thoroughly inspected by employees. He went to Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment and provided the safety pin to police, asking if any test could be performed on it. Officers will consult with a detective on the matter and return the item to the person once any further investigation is concluded.
– An officer was flagged down at 9:36 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West State Street where a friendly, well-cared for dog was left tied to a post at a gas station. The officer recognized the dog and contacted the owner, who responded to retrieve it. The owner’s daughter had taken the dog for a walk and stopped at the store where she met up with friends and forgot she secured the dog outside. She left in a vehicle and only realized what she had done when the owner called to find out why the dog had been left behind.
– A domestic was reported at 8:46 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South Madison. Officers spoke with a female they knew who said she had a dispute with her boyfriend while walking and he took off after she called police. She said it was mainly verbal, but he bumped and pushed her. He could not be found. She was told her options, then called back later to say he had been driving past where she was walking. He still could not be found.
– A reckless driver was reported at 8:30 p.m. Sunday on East Third Street and Roosevelt, but officers responded and did not see any violations. They ran radar in the area later in the shift.
– Open burning was reported at 8:26 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of East Fifth Street. The fire department was already on scene and spoke with the person tending to the fire. It was a legal cookout, but some improper items had been burned. Firefighters instructed the person on the proper wood to be burned.
– Officers on patrol at 7:17 p.m. Sunday saw a small child about 3 years old riding a battery-powered 4-wheeler on the sidewalk in the 900 block of Prospect Street without any adults in the area. Officers made contact with the child, then his father who had been in a backyard at a nearby residence. He took the child back home.
– A woman in the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6 p.m. Sunday requested documentation of repeated verbal disputes with a neighborhood resident over the property line and an insurance claim from recent storm damage from a falling tree. She said the insurance company of the resident whose property was where the tree had been located had already begun processing the claim and made arrangements to cover expenses as a result of the damage. The resident’s adult daughter who resides several houses down had been engaged in verbal disputes with her and her husband over the issue and she wanted it documented. She was told if the problem persists, call police and an officer will follow up with the person causing the problem.
– Police were asked at 5:36 p.m. Sunday to check with the relative of a person from Salem, Virginia about the whereabouts of the Virginia resident. A neighbor of the person had called Salem, Va. police to do a welfare check since the person had not been seen. Contact was made with a brother who said the person was fine.
– Police were called at 5:07 p.m. Sunday to check on an animal complaint in the 1800 block of East State Street. The animal was inside a vehicle with all the windows partially open. The animal appeared to be just fine.
– An open door was reported at 5:01 p.m. Sunday on Allen Road. The officer secured the door on the storage trailer.
PERRY TWP.
– Kimberly Vandress, 52, of Beloit, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and left of center after a traffic stop at 12:15 a.m. Monday for a lane violation on West State Street. The report said the operator of the vehicle was found to be under the influence of numerous pills and transported by EMT Ambulance to Salem Regional Medical Center. Vandress was issued her citation when police responded to the hospital.
– A suspicious person was reported looking in a vehicle’s windows in the 1000 block of Jones Drive at 11:54 p.m. Sunday, but no one was found.
– A complaint about someone discharging a firearm after dark near a residential area was reported at 9:37 p.m. Sunday in the area of Idaho Avenue. An officer located the source and spoke to a person who discharged the weapon to quiet a nuisance varmint. The person was told to stop due to the time of night and proximity to other residences.
– A deputy sheriff serving papers at a residence on Benton Road heard a gunshot close by and asked a township officer at 9:17 p.m. Sunday to assist him in searching for the source of the gunshot. Officers were unable to locate the source, but another complaint for the same issue gave the location of the gunshot and an officer spoke with that person about discharging firearms after dark and about backstops.
– Police were asked at 7:07 p.m. Sunday to check the welfare of residents on Southridge Drive after neighbors had not seen any traffic there for a few days. No one was found at the residence.
– A woman on West Perry Street reported at 3:20 p.m. Sunday that someone known to her entered her apartment and removed items belonging to that person and damaged the lock in the process. The other person claimed the lock had already been damaged and they did not cause it. A report was made for the landlord.
– A resident reported a two-door white vehicle being driven recklessly up and down the road on Garfield Road in the 1300 block at 2:10 p.m. Sunday.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 9:57 p.m. Friday after neighbors heard yelling coming from an apartment on West Perry Street. Police learned it was a verbal argument only and there were no problems. They were told to keep the volume down.
– A resident in the 1300 block of West State Street called at 8:25 p.m. Friday to report hearing gunshots. Police spoke with multiple people outdoors who heard the shots and claimed they came from south of West State Street and east of state Route 45. Officers were unable to find any source.
LISBON
– Police were called to the corner of North Beaver and West Pine streets at 7:41 p.m. May 12 in regard to an elderly man who had fallen. The man was identified as Al Crothers from the Allay Senior Care Center, and he was bleeding from the head. Crothers was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
– Chris Szaeo of the Karvo Paving Co., which is doing paving in town, reported Friday he suspects William Catlett of stealing road grindings from its stockpile at the D.W. Dickey & Sons lot on East Washington Street. Catlett was contacted and said he paid for three truck loads of grindings from Karvo prior to April 29. Police then spoke with Dick Cope from D.W. Dickey, who said saw Catlett, who told him he hard purchased grindings. Cope thinks someone from Karvo took a payment under the table and then loaded it for Catlett because there is no way Catlett could have gotten those grindings in the middle of the day without someone from Karvo loading it for him.
– Police were called to West High Street at 10:23 p.m. Saturday in regard to a father and his juvenile-age daughter over her cellphone. The daughter said he father had threatened to take the cellphone she purchased and smash it because she was being unruly. Just then, her father came downstairs and the daughter began screaming at him. She then threw her cellphone on the ground and began stomping on it, and the officer had to step between her and her father. Meanwhile, police determined there was arrest warrant for the father out of Belmont County, and Ron Inman was taken into custody. Meanwhile, the daughter was told to mind her stepmother.
– Joseph Castelucci, South Lincoln Avenue, reported Sunday afternoon Jesse Cote had pulled into his driveway and then did burnouts when he left after Castelucci refused to speak with him.
– Alisa Hall was at the St. George Catholic Church rectory at 7:18 a.m. Sunday when she heard a radio playing upstairs. Police found an alarm clock on the second floor that had been set for 6:30 a.m.
– Thomas Gushert III, Exchange Street, reported Sunday his 1985 Suburban was stolen from his driveway overnight.
– The security alarm at Cherished Children was going off at 9:30 p.m. Friday, and police arrived to find the building to be secure.
– Police were called to the Sparkle supermarket lot at 11 p.m. Friday to assist a county sheriff’s deputy who found a man sleeping on the ground near the entrance. The man said he was homeless and just looking for a place to sleep for the night. The deputy sent the man on his way.
-Police responded to a barking dog complaint in the 300 block of East Washington Street at 8:29 a.m. Sunday. Police did not hear any barking dogs when they arrived.
– A caller reported there was a dog chasing the mailman and juveniles in the area of Sherman and Hostettler streets at 11:26 a.m. Saturday. Police found a little black dog, which was very aggressive and attempted to bite the officer. Police contacted the unidentified owner, who was warned that she could not have her dog running loose and trying to bite people. She told police this would not happen again.

– A woman reported at 12:37 a.m. Sunday a suspicious man was staring at her and some other people from behind the bushes in their backyard on Fairfield Avenue. Police checked but did not find the man.
– Police found a small child’s bicycle in the middle of the traffic circle at 3:19 a.m. Sunday and moved it from the road.
– A Bell Avenue man reported at 12:27 p.m. Sunday his vehicle was entered during the night.
– An East Park Avenue man reported at 12:49 p.m. Sunday a large basket of pink petunias was stolen from his porch.
– A North Pearl Street man reported at 1 p.m. Sunday there was a man walking and dancing in the middle of North Pearl Street who was wearing headphones and wasn’t paying attention to cars coming down the road. Police found the man and warned him of the complaint.
– Danny Lockard, requested at 1:29 p.m. Sunday police accompany him to a Howard Street home so he could serve an eviction notice. Lockard changed his mind while on the way there, however.
– A Firestone Avenue woman reported at 3:49 p.m. Sunday a three-year-old went missing from a home there. Police found the boy.
– Rachel McDaniel, James Street, reported at 4:42 p.m. Sunday someone removed items from her vehicle during the night.
– Ronald Hagen, 54, Columbiana, was arrested for domestic violence at 221 W. Park Ave. at 8:13 pm. Sunday.
– A woman reported at 9:35 p.m. Sunday a man was going through the trash at Lantern Square apartments. Police checked the area but did not find the man.
– Brenda Martin, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 9:58 p.m. Sunday someone removed about two gallons of gasoline from her 2006 red Buick parked in the driveway.
– Lynn E. Stewart, 56, North Main Street, was cited for assured clear distance after striking the back of a vehicle driven by John P. Sullivan, 60, Petersburg, while she was pulling from the Duke and Duchess parking lot and Sullivan was southbound on state Route 164 at 10 p.m. Friday.
– A man reported at 1:27 p.m. Saturday a woman and man had been hanging out along Heck Road for a while with no car around. Police checked on the couple and found the woman had been involved in a bicycle crash but it was outside city limits. The county sheriff’s office was notified.
– Kim Gamble, South Vine Street, reported at 5 p.m. Saturday a child at the home was being unruly. Police spoke with the child.
– April Seibert, Spruce Street, reported at 5:10 p.m. Saturday her 14-year-old son was being unruly.
– Police assisted the highway patrol with a vehicle accident on Columbiana-Waterford Road at 11:12 p.m. Saturday.
– A man reported at 5:23 a.m. Friday an RV was broken down on state Route 7 near the candle shop. Police checked and found it to be part of the Men’s Rally in the Valley following their walkers.
– A man reported at 6:27 a.m. Friday Richard Gorcheff was hitting the ATM machine at Chase Bank with his walker and screaming at it. Police checked on him and showed him the correct way to use the machine.
– Police warned an Oak Street resident for allowing their dog to run at large at 10:34 a.m. Friday after receiving a complaint.
– Greg Raneri, West Salem Street, reported at noon Friday he wanted to press theft charges on his ex-girlfriend.
– Jenny Wehr, East Park Avenue, reported at 1:19 p.m. Friday there was an opossum in the back yard that wasn’t dead yet. Police euthanized the animal.
– Cara English, South Main Street, reported at 8:16 p.m. Friday her son’s bicycle was taken from the home. Police found the bicycle later and stood by until the person who took it returned it to the boy.

– An officer responded to the area of Butcher Road and South Cunningham Road at 8:32 a.m. Saturday for a report of an unknown man dressed in camouflage and carrying a rifle walking northbound on Cunningham Road. The officer was unable to find the person.
– Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the parking lot of a 2800 block East State Street business at 1:44 p.m. Saturday in which Carl Millison, Leetonia, backed out of a parking space and struck a motorized cart driven by Donna Hawkins, Columbiana. First Responders and an ambulance responded, but Hawkins declined treatment.
– An officer responded to a 300 block Cunningham Road home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday where the resident reported someone had driven by four times shooting a starter pistol at him. The officer was unable to find the person.
– A patrolling officer observed fireworks being shot off in the 300 block of West Fourth Street at 9:22 p.m. Saturday. The officer spoke with someone at a business in the area and warned them against the actions.
– Morgan P. Cline, 17, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in the 1400 block of East State Street at 4:47 a.m. Sunday in which she was westbound and allegedly fell asleep, traveling left of center off the roadway, striking a curb then a utility pole. No injuries were reported. A passenger, Shayne M. Welling, 20, 1268 Cedar Ridge Apt. A, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear.

SALEM
– Police were called at 12:13 p.m. Friday to Walmart on East State Street where an ambulance was needed. A woman in the bathroom said all was fine. An ambulance was coming from Damascus and fire department first responders had already arrived.
– Tyler Robertson, 19, of Poland, was cited for a traffic light violation after a three-vehicle accident at East State Street and Union Avenue at 9:33 a.m. Friday left another driver and child injured. Robertson was westbound on State when he failed to stop for the red light at the intersection and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Sarah Drye, 27, of Kelly Park Road, Columbiana. Both vehicles then collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Rita Fuscoe, 47, of Youngstown, who was sitting stationary at the red light. Drye and her passenger, 2-year-old Leila Worden, also of Kelly Park Road, Columbiana, were both taken to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG Ambulance with injuries. Drye was cited for driving without a license.
– Jona French, 23, of Salineville, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence after a traffic stop at 2:38 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of West Pershing Street.
– An officer on patrol near Speedway gas station, West State Street, saw a man acting suspicious at 2:24 a.m. Friday. When he saw the patrol car, he fled toward the rear of the business. The officer was familiar with him and he said he was just going home for money for cigarettes.
– An officer at 1:07 a.m. Friday saw two females walking on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of East State Street who appeared to be under 18. The officer made contact and found one was 18 and one was 16. The 18-year-old was sent on her way and the 16-year-old from Salem was charged with a curfew violation and released to a family member.
– An audible alarm was reported at 11:04 p.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of East State Street. The exterior of the business was found secure.
– Suspicious activity/motor vehicle accident was reported at 10:40 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Aetna Street, but no one answered at the residence in question and no damage was found to the two vehicles reportedly involved.
– A suspicious male was reported near a closed business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 10:37 p.m. Thursday. After police made contact, he said he would leave.
– A missing adult was reported at 9:27 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Southeast Boulevard. A woman said her daughter had left several hours before to get food but had not returned. An hour later, the woman called to say her daughter returned. Police went to the residence to check on her and she said she was fine and just wanted some alone time.
– An anonymous person reported suspicious activity behind the Stadium car lot at 9:23 p.m. Thursday. Two people were seen throwing black trash bags into the dumpster after the business closed.
– A reckless vehicle was reported at 8:42 p.m. Thursday coming into the city on East State Street, but was not found.
– A woman in the 1100 block of Benton Road reported harassment at 7:22 p.m. Thursday, saying a male known to her was waiting for her to get off work and she did not want to see him. Police spoke to the male and he left.
– Alexis Liberty, 21, of 840 W. Pershing St., was taken into custody at 6:34 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for obstruction of official business.
– A caller at 6:29 p.m. Thursday reported a young juvenile riding a motorized scooter in the road at Lexington and Continental. An officer told him he can’t ride in the road.
– Police were called at 6:08 p.m. Thursday to Mullins Park for several unruly juveniles on the playground. The juveniles were allegedly spitting and humping the equipment while young children were trying to play. Officers spoke to several juveniles who said they didn’t do anything wrong. They were told not to misuse the equipment and be mindful of younger kids playing. The mother of the juveniles arrived and said they had never caused problems at the park before but would be leaving.
– A man in the 700 block of East Fourth Street reported at 5:28 p.m. Thursday that a man had been sending him harassing messages over an online social networking site.
– Juveniles were reported riding their bicycles in the road and blocking traffic on the Cranmer bridge at 5:17 p.m. Thursday, but police didn’t locate a problem.
– A woman in the 400 block of Sharp Street reported at 4:42 p.m. Thursday that her neighbor’s children were climbing her trees and breaking the branches. When she told them to leave the property, the juveniles and their parents started calling her names. Contact was made with the neighbors and they said they would keep the kids off the property.
– An irate customer was reported at Papa John’s Pizza, 1015 E. State St., at 4:35 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the man who said he lost his keys and believed the manager’s young children took them. Officers checked the vehicle and place of business several times, but didn’t find the keys. The manager said the kids’ backpacks and vehicle they left in were checked and the keys were not there. The owner of the vehicle finally located the keys between the seats. Officers checked him for any impairment, did a test and found him impaired. When asked if he had been drinking, he said he had and had taken prescription medication. He was given a ride to his residence and told not to pick up the vehicle until the next day.
– A reckless operator was reported at 4:34 p.m. Thursday, but was not found.
– Police were called at 4:25 p.m. Thursday to the 2300 block of East State Street for several suspicious people in the parking lot. They were fixing a flat tire.
– Suspicious activity was reported in the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 4:13 p.m. Thursday, but it was determined there was nothing illegal going on.
– Paul Barnett, 49, of South Johnson Road, Sebring, was cited for failure to control after his westbound vehicle on West Pershing Street struck the left side of a parked work van driven by Allen Cottrill, 56, of Lisbon, who was working for AT&T at 2:56 p.m. Thursday. The report said Barnett was distracted by his cell phone.
– A woman in the 500 block of Franklin reported at 2:48 p.m. Thursday that a known male by the name of Mike came on her porch asking for cigarettes and money. He was told to leave and the woman and others said he’s been warned by the owner to stay away. They were told to advise the landlord. Officers found the man in a parking lot near the KSU City Center and he claimed he had been on Franklin to visit his mother’s friend. He was told not to go there and if he keeps returning, he’ll face arrest.
– Police responded for a missing adult in the 1000 block of W. Perry Street at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, but learned the male in question was seeking medical treatment and was safe.
– A dog was reported running at large at 11:08 a.m. Thursday behind city hall. The dog was a large beagle with a collar pulling a 6-foot chain. The dog did not want to be caught. The humane officer was called to try to catch him.

– Police responded at 10:33 p.m. Thursday to a report of loud neighbors sitting around a campfire at C & C Trailer Court on West State Street. They were told to keep the noise down.
– Speeding vehicles were reported in the area of West Pine Lake Road at 6:44 p.m. Thursday, but were not found.
– Police responded at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday to Brittany Lane for a report of a suspicious person knocking on doors. No one was found.

– Crystal Jeffers, of the 400 block of Pearl Street, reported possible damage to her front door at 7:43 a.m. Friday.
– Chief John Soldano stood by while a male retrieved personal items from a residence in the 200 block of Main Street at 12:52 p.m. Monday.
– An officer took a complaint for child neglect in the 100 block of Lisbon Street at 5:25 p.m. Monday.
– A complaint at 3:01 a.m. May 9 was investigated and resolved at the American Legion, 540 Main St.
– Alicia Cope, of the 100 block of Oak Street, filed a property damage report at 9:43 a.m. May 2.
– A possible missing child was reported and found at 9:27 p.m. May 1 in the area of Pearl Street.
– An open door was found and secured at Mitsubishi, Cherry Fork, at 12:13 a.m. April 29.
– An alarm was reported at the Shell gas station at 2:34 a.m. April 27 on Columbia Street, with the building found secure.
– Police were called to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol on Butcher Road at 9:41 p.m. April 25.

– A Christina House resident reported at 2:40 p.m. she has a protection order against a man and he had contacted her mother that day and told her mother that she could have her belongings back if she dropped the charges against him. Police told the woman they would attempt to contact the man to advise him that the protection order bars him from contacting her family members as well.
– The owner of East Pearl restaurant on North Market Street reported at 11 a.m. Thursday they had been broken into and $300 worth of rolled coins was taken and a mirror was knocked off a shelf.
– Christa M. Viets, 45, Wayne Bridge Road, was backing from a driveway along East Chestnut Street at 2:16 p.m. Thursday and struck a parked vehicle owned by William R. Stone, Sherman Street.
– Alexa Ann Raymond, 24, East High Street, and Cheylynn D. Fisher, 24, Huntington, W.Va., were southbound on Dickey Drive at 4:35 p.m. Thursday and Fisher failed to stop and struck Raymond from behind. Fisher was cited for assured clear distance.

– A man reported at 3 a.m. Thursday he just left Circle K and the clerk was acting strange by throwing things and swearing. Police checked on the clerk and there were no problems.
– A man reported at 7:52 a.m. Thursday there was a large pot hole at the railroad crossing on South Main Street. Police notified the street crew.
– Amanda Humphrey, 35, Salem, was slowed in traffic near the state routes 7 and 14 intersection at 1 p.m. Thursday when she was struck from behind by Taylor Adams, 19, New Waterford. Adams was cited for assured clear distance.
– Rollin Gosney reported at 2:17 p.m. Thursday that on May 3 his vehicle was parked behind a business on South Main Street and someone stole some tools out of the bed of his truck and a custom ink pen from the cab of the truck.
– An SRE Doors employee reported at 2:57 p.m. Thursday Al Brooks of SRD & Associates of Youngstown wrote a bad check for $1,300.
– A man reported at 5:27 p.m. Thursday cars were parking on the walking trail at Firestone Park during a softball game there. Police checked and found the cars parked in a yard and not on the trail.
– Melina L. Bennett, 42, Mentor, was backing out of a parking space in the McDonald’s lot at 6 p.m. Thursday and was struck by Andrew G. Langton, 77, Aliquippa, Pa., who was also backing from a parking space. No citations were issued.
– A woman reported at 8:53 p.m. Thursday she could hear gun shots in the area of Southern Terrace but wasn’t sure if the sound was within city limits. Police checked the area but did not see anyone shooting.
– A man reported at 8:59 p.m. Thursday there was some sort of fire in the area of state Route 344. Police checked and found a land owner burning trash along with tree limbs and other things.

– Police responded at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Brittany Lane for a report of a suspicious person knocking on doors, but nobody was found.
– Police were called at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday to the 200 block of East Pidgeon Road for a report of a suspicious person standing on a porch with a flashlight. Police checked the residence, finding all windows and doors secure and finding nothing in the surrounding area or a neighboring residence.
– Police assisted Columbiana County Children Services at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday for a follow-up investigation regarding an alleged sexual assault.
SALEM
– A man reported at 9:57 a.m. Thursday that he had been residing at a home on East Euclid Avenue and was threatened. A woman also resided there and last week they got into an argument and she called her boyfriend home from work in Lisbon and he threatened to remove him if he had to by force and kick his butt. He also lived there. Now the man said he’s concerned for his safety because of the threats and wanted a report on file in case something happens.
– An employee of Circle K East, 1125 E. State St., reported at 9:05 a.m. Thursday that someone came into the store overnight and used two counterfeit $20 bills inside the business. Earlier, at 8:29 a.m., an employee from Speedway, 175 W. State St., reported a clerk took a $10 bill Wednesday during the busy lunch time. The bill was found to be counterfeit. The counterfeit bills are under investigation by police, who took them as evidence.
– Police responded to Sparkle Market, 423 S. Lundy Ave., for an alarm at 1:09 a.m. Thursday. The exterior of the building was found secure.
– An officer at 11:08 p.m. Wednesday was in the Walmart parking lot and saw a parking lot sweeping truck parked and running on the east side of the lot with the door ajar and nobody inside or around. The driver was located shortly after and was OK. He had been cleaning debris from the fence line and walked to the southeast corner of the lot before the officer arrived.
– An officer on patrol on West State Street at 11 p.m. Wednesday saw a vehicle pull up near the front of a closed business and a man standing near the vehicle. The officer turned around and made contact with the man, who was dropping off his vehicle for service the next day.
– Four juveniles were charged with delinquency by criminal trespassing after an officer caught them on the roof of a building in the 500 block of East Pershing Street Wednesday evening. A caller at 8:07 p.m. reported juveniles on the roof of a business at 544 E. Pershing St., with an officer accessing the roof top from the back of an adjacent building. The officer saw the juveniles partially concealed on a higher level and instructed them to come down. The four juveniles complied and were processed and released to parents or guardians. They’ll be notified to appear for an informal hearing at the police station or a court appearance at Juvenile Court. All four were cooperative and respectful while in police custody and acknowledged their poor judgment in going on the roof.
– A well-being check was requested for a woman in the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 7:57 p.m. Wednesday. The woman said she was sleeping and just found a note under her door from another resident asking if she was OK. The officer reported back to the caller that she was OK.
– A woman on Fairview reported at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday that her juvenile daughter left without permission. The daughter returned home while police were there and the woman was told her options.
– Metal was reported in the road near Sugartree Alley at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday. Numerous steel bolts were found in the road and gathered up.
– Suspicious juveniles were reported at 6:54 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Fairview Court. A man said he saw several juveniles playing near a Columbia Gas building. They were gone when officers arrived and the building appeared ok.
– Police responded to the Salem High School parking lot at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday for a report of threats being made to an employee in the parking lot, then the person drove off. The employee was told the police would speak to the suspect and if threats continued, charges would be filed.
– A caller at 6:31 p.m. Wednesday reported a suspicious male soliciting door to door on North Union Avenue. The person was located on East Sixth Street and said he and several others were going door to door to promote sales for a painting firm, Text Book Painting. He was identified and told a solicitor’s permit was required. He was told to stop or a citation will be issued. Several others were located in a parking lot and advised that a permit could be obtained from city hall during regular business hours.
– Officers responded at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday to Pizza Hut, 325 W. State St., for a report of possible criminal damaging. A woman from East 10th Street reported an employee of a local business damaged her vehicle. Officers spoke with the employee who denied damaging the vehicle in any way. It was found to be a civil matter and all parties were told their options.
LISBON
– A vehicle driven by Rick Adkins, Cannons Mill Road, East Liverpool, was parked on South Market Street in front of Chef’s Table at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday when it was struck by another vehicle, causing damage to the driver side mirror.
– Police found at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday a door at the street department appeared to have been pried open. The street supervisor was notified and no items were found to be missing inside the building.
COLUMBIANA
– A woman reported at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday there a car stopped on Canary Alley and two people were yelling at each other. Police checked but did not find the people.

SALEM
– A woman from the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue called at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday with a question about her doctor saying no when she wanted to see her records. She was told her options.
– Kenneth Hull, 33, of Southeast Boulevard, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and hit skip/leaving the scene of an accident after the vehicle he was driving west on Bentley Drive struck the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by Marra McFarland, 27, of Lexington Avenue, who had stopped for a stop sign at 1:02 p.m. Wednesday at Roosevelt Avenue. The report said Hull fled on foot and was found later at a residence on Continental Drive.
– An Ohio Department of Transportation worker brought a purse found along state Route 344 to the police station at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday. There was identification in the purse, but no cash. The owner was contacted and said the purse was reported stolen to the Sheriff’s Office on Sunday.
– A cab driver reported at 12:34 p.m. Wednesday that she took two fares early in the morning, learning later she received possible counterfeit money from them. She was told to have the bank confirm that they’re fake.
– A man from the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue spoke to an officer at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday regarding several questions stemming from an incident a few days ago with another tenant. He was told to cut ties with the person and said he had not had any contact since the incident.
– An unruly child was reported on Fairview at 8:28 a.m. Wednesday, with an officer speaking to both the mother and daughter about the problem. The daughter refused to go to school because she didn’t want to walk, saying it was too far, rainy or cold. She was loud, lacked respect for the mother and the officer and expressed anger. The mother had been told by a mental health facility to have her taken to Salem Regional Medical Center for an evaluation. The daughter had not been taking her medication and may have been under the influence of illegal drugs. An ambulance and first responders arrived. Nothing physical had occurred except for the daughter striking a wall and throwing objects, so officers found no probable cause to file charges, but urged the mother to file unruly charges in Juvenile Court.
– An AT&T phone line was found blocking a lane of traffic in the city at 7:54 a.m. Wednesday after a garbage truck pulled the line down. The line was picked up as high as possible until AT&T could arrive.
– A caller at 6:43 a.m. Wednesday complained about noise in the 1300 block of East 10th Street where police spoke with a couple of people building a house. They were told the ordinance against noise ends at 7 a.m. and they would have to wait until then to continue working.
– A woman in the 1200 block of East State Street reported a suspicious male at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, saying the male knocked on her door at that late hour. Officers made contact with the male who said he was going door to door to promote his religious beliefs. He said he would stop for the night.
– A possible domestic or fight was reported at 10:59 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of East Third Street. Officers arrived and heard arguing coming from a second floor window, making contact with a resident who said her children were arguing with her about going to sleep after she found them playing video games. She apologized for the noise disturbance and said police arriving resolved the problem with her children not listening.
– A fight was reported at 9:56 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of East Fourth Street. Officers spoke to several people involved but all denied being in a physical fight.
– A caller at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday reported that sometime between 7 and 9 p.m., a cell phone was stolen from the 200 block of South Lundy Avenue. Numerous people had been at the building at that time.
– A dispute was reported at 9:29 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of East Fourth Street. A man said he and an acquaintance had a verbal dispute. Both were told their options.
– An alarm was reported at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue. The building was secure.
– A possible intoxicated person was reported in a vehicle possibly in the driver’s seat with an alcoholic beverage at 6:19 p.m. Tuesday in the 2800 block of East State Street. Officers made contact with the person, finding no container of alcohol and no signs of intoxication.
– An ATV was reported on the road at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday on Monroe Street. Police found an ATV which had just been purchased. The resident was advised of the rules.
– Police responded to Centennial Park at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday for children playing on a downed tree. The juveniles were located and told the dangers.
– A neighbor dispute was reported at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of East Fourth Street regarding a juvenile neighbor feeding a dog and possibly making the dog ill. Police made contact with the neighbor who admitted he fed the dog and would not do so in the future.
– A woman called from GetGo, 2345 E. State St., at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday to report a female placed a fuel nozzle in her vehicle and while still pumping gas, she drove away from the pump. The hose continued to spill fuel on the ground. The fire department responded and cleaned up the area. The incident is under investigation.
– Improper parking was reported at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Washington Avenue. A resident said the vehicle would be moved.
– A caller at 2:11 p.m. Tuesday reported a crossing gate malfunction on Newgarden Avenue, saying the gates failed to go down for a train. An officer saw the gates go down at the last minute for a three-car train going very slow westbound on the north track. A train went by on the south tracks and the gates appeared to be functioning properly. A railroad repair technician arrived.
– Roy Larkins, 48, of Lisbon, was cited for improper backing after his westbound vehicle began backing up and struck the front of another westbound vehicle driven by Justice Philips, 22, of North Lima, on Aetna Street at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday.
– Police at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where they found a male from a previous call standing there. The woman who called police came out and said she wanted him out of here, off her property and away from her. He said he understood and left and was warned not to return. She was told to call back if he returns. Police also spoke to the manager of the apartments. The man had called earlier at 10:58 a.m. regarding what he felt was a theft, saying he ordered product from a female neighbor and her children as a fundraiser, along with his girlfriend, and he found out others received their items but he had not. He contacted the school and got his $24 back. Officers talked to the female who said she had his items but was holding them with his girlfriend’s items until she came back from Florida. Officers tried to give him the items, but he refused them and officers told her to contact the school. He was told information would be sent to the prosecutor.
– An open door was reported at a property on East Sixth Street at 9:13 a.m. Tuesday, with the interior checked and everything appearing in order. The door was resecured.
– AT&T phone lines were reported hanging low at 8:27 a.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of East State Street. AT&T was being contacted.
-An employee of the Italian Club, 250 Penn Ave., reported at 11:58 p.m. Monday that an unknown person was knocking on the door while she was attempting to close up. Police checked the area, but found no one.
LISBON
– Police were called to 845 N. Market St. at 5 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man trying to break down a door. Police saw James Harter run to his home nearby as they arrived and then spoke with April Frantz who was crying and very upset. Frantz told police Harter tried to rape and choke her so she ran over to her aunt’s apartment. Police found Harter and spoke with him and he admitted to drinking and said he and Frantz had been arguing but that he had not attempted or rape or choke her. Frantz then told police what started the argument was that she found a message on his phone from another girl asking him on a date and so she returned to the bedroom and lay down and that is when he came into the bedroom and then laid down and attempted to choke her, at which point she kicked him in the groin and he fell off the bed onto the floor. Police observed red marks on her neck. Harter was then charged with domestic violence and taken to the county jail.
– April Frantz reported at 9 p.m. Monday James Harter was at the home when he was not supposed to be. At 11:26 p.m. April Harter reported her husband was at the property attempting to get inside the home when he was not supposed to be there. Police searched the area but could not find him.
– Police were called to 855 N. Market St. at 5:27 p.m. Tuesday. The resident, Caitlin Frantz, said James Harter was there when he was not supposed to be. Police spoke with Harter, who said another tenant at the apartment complex told him he could stay there to sleep off the alcohol he had consumed. The tenant confirmed his story to police and Harter was told to leave the complex when he sobered up and not to return to Frantz’s apartment. The officer was then confronted by April Frantz, who said she had a restraining order against Harter, but when she provided the paperwork it was discovered it was not a restraining order but a bond. The officer told her Harter could not be removed because it was not a restraining order.
– Several Shale Tavern employees reported at 3:27 p.m. Monday their manager was fired that day and another employee overheard him say he was going to “rob the restaurant blind” when he quit. Police checked the area several times but did not see the man.
– Annie McCullough, East Pine Street, reported at 8 p.m. Monday a neighbor’s tree fell on her vehicle causing damage.
– Bill Myers reported at 7:38 p.m. Monday a tree fell on power lines at the corner of Cherry and High streets.
– A woman reported at midnight Tuesday a lady who appeared to be drunk was going door to door in shorts and a flannel shirt while everyone was in bed. Police spoke with Vicki Waite, who was highly intoxicated and told her to stay inside her apartment for the night.
COLUMBIANA
– A high grass zoning violation notification was sent to 303 Brenda Lane at 10:57 a.m. Tuesday.
– A woman reported at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday a moving company refuses to pay for damages they caused to her property and neighboring properties on Henderson Street.

– Police responded at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday for a motor vehicle lockout with a child inside in the 400 block of East State Street. Entry was made without incident.
– An alarm drop was reported at 5:28 a.m. Tuesday at a business in the 2900 block of East State Street. The exterior was checked and found secure. A keyholder responded and checked inside the business finding everything secure.
– An officer checking a business in the 100 block of Continental Drive at 1:58 a.m. Tuesday found a door unlocked, but was able to secure it and found the rest of the business secure.
– An officer saw a wire laying in the street on East State Street at Highland Avenue at 1:36 a.m. Tuesday and determined it was a cable line torn from a residence and at the pole. The wire was placed on the curb lawn.
– Officers checked all the outer perimeter doors at Sparkle Market on South Lundy Avenue after an alarm activation at 12:32 a.m. Tuesday. The doors appeared secure.
– An audible alarm was reported at 11:36 p.m. Monday at a closed business in the 1100 block of the Salem Parkway. The power company was working in the area and the building was found secure.
– Sonja Ellis, of the 800 block of East Third Street, called at 9:41 p.m. Monday to report a theft at her residence, saying she let a male known to her inside the home and he took a jar of money and fled the area. She was told her options.
– An audible alarm was reported at 7:43 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of East Third Street, with two main doors found unlocked. A keyholder arrived and secured the doors.
– Gage Mountz, 21, of 5303 St. Jacob-Logtown Road, Lisbon, was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear and also charged with obstruction of official business after fleeing from police at 7:02 p.m. Monday from the 400 block of Bank Street. Police had gone there to serve the warrant and when they located Mountz he immediately ran from officers, who then chased him by vehicle and on foot. He was taken into custody at taser point at the rear of a residence in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue and was turned over to a deputy after being processed.
– Parents came to the police station with their juvenile daughter at 6:47 p.m. Monday so officers could speak to her about her unruly behavior. She was told to follow her parents’ rules and said she would do better.
– An open burning call came at 6:19 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The fire department had the situation under control.
– Allycia Cross, 24, of 226 Vine St., was charged with theft and released on a recognizance bond after police were called to Walmart on East State Street at 6:01 p.m. Monday for a shoplifter.
– Bryan Hendricks, 23, of Meadowwood Drive, was cited for assured clear distance after his eastbound vehicle struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle driven by Lawrence Sommers, 72, of Ridgewood Drive, who had stopped for traffic in the 900 block of East State Street at 5:47 p.m. Monday.
– Police responded at 5:39 p.m. Monday to the 400 block of Arch Street for a report of phone harassment. An officer attempted to contact the suspect, but they did not answer or return a call.
– A woman reported at 5:26 p.m. Monday that her juvenile son was behaving in an unruly manner for the past several months and left without permission Monday. He was supposed to be home with his brother. A short time later, officers were notified that the juvenile returned home. Officers responded to the residence and spoke to the juvenile about the potential for unruly charges if he persisted in unruly behavior.
PERRY TWP.
– Police responded at 4:03 a.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of Cunningham Road to speak with a parent about options for his 18-year-old son who left the state without permission. It was explained that once he turned 18, he was legally able to leave without permission.
– A resident in the 300 block of Stewart Road reported at 11:38 p.m. Monday that three unwanted males entered their home. The homeowner observed the males inside and they ran in an unknown direction of travel.
– A resident of Miller Road reported at 8:12 p.m. Monday that his dog got loose and ran away 1 1/2 weeks ago and he later learned through friends that a person living in the 200 block of Apple Street had his dog. He contacted the person, who refused to return the dog. The resident had all of his AKC paperwork for the dog and his license from the Columbiana County Dog Warden. Police contacted the person on Apple Street and the dog was returned.
– Police and township firefighters responded to Newgarden Avenue near Conser Drive for a low-hanging wire across the road at 8:07 p.m. Monday. The wire was a cable line and removed by firefighters.
– A woman on East Pidgeon Road reported at 5:05 p.m. Monday that a male caller keeps calling her phone and yelling, but she doesn’t know who he is. Police attempted to make contact with the number provided, but were unable to reach anyone.
– Wilberto Junior Acevedo Otero, 22, whose last known address was Warren, was cited for no license after a traffic stop at 11:22 a.m. Monday on North Ellsworth Avenue and J. Wilson Drive. Otero walked from the scene and the vehicle was towed.
– Jeremiah Schindewolf, 27, Beloit, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop for speed at 6:48 a.m. Monday on Michigan near Van Buren.
– Township police responded to the Salem Police Department at 10:20 p.m. Sunday to retrieve drug paraphernalia from a person who removed the items from a township residence. The items were disposed into a biohazard receptacle.
– A woman on Buckeye Circle reported at 9:08 p.m. Sunday that her juvenile daughter was receiving threatening and harassing texts from a 19-year-old female and another juvenile female. She was told her options for a restraining order and to speak with school personnel.
– A reckless operator was reported on a motorcycle in Salem Heights and when confronted by the caller, words were exchanged and the operator allegedly threatened one of the concerned residents at 4:04 p.m. Sunday. Officers checked the area and told residents to call if the person returns.
– Police responded to the 1800 block of state Route 344 at 2:06 p.m. Sunday for a report of two missing small juveniles. While speaking with the caller, a family member arrived with the juveniles in their vehicle. The family member had assumed the children told the person they were leaving.
– Jay Thomas Troyer, 21, of Hanoverton, was taken into custody for three active warrants after a traffic stop at 3:07 a.m. Sunday for a possible intoxicated driver leaving Circle K South. Police had located the vehicle and followed it, stopping it after a minor traffic offense. The driver was found not impaired, but the passenger, Troyer, was found to have two arrest warrants out of Columbiana County and one out of Stark County. He was turned over to a Columbiana County deputy.
-A Salem police officer contacted the township at 2:49 a.m. Sunday to report he was flagged down by an employee of the Salem Golf Club regarding a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot on South Lincoln Avenue. Township police arrived but did not find any vehicle matching the description. Highland Creek was also checked, but the vehicle was not found.
– A caller at 2:01 a.m. Saturday reported a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed with a person yelling out the window on Wisconsin Boulevard. The vehicle was not found.
– A Salem police officer advised at 8:03 p.m. Friday that they were made aware of a possible juvenile sex offense that occurred at a trailer park in the township. Information will be forwarded to Children Services for investigation.
– Management from Fresh Mark reported a vehicle obstructing traffic on Snyder Road at 4:43 p.m. Friday and believed it to be a road hazard. No vehicles were found obstructing traffic.
– A caller from the 800 block of West Pidgeon Road reported a suspicious vehicle sitting in the area with a male sitting in the driver side at 1:36 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area from state Route 9 and New Garden Road to Depot Road, but did not find any suspicious vehicle or person.
– A resident on Conser Drive reported coming home Friday afternoon and finding yard damage. An officer arrived and found a vehicle appeared to have traveled off of state Route 9 into the front yard and coming to rest after striking a utility pole. The vehicle appeared to have been driven away due to the marks in the yard and debris located in the road and near the pole. Residents in the area said they didn’t witness anything.
– William Mullet, 44, of Salineville, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his eastbound vehicle struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle on Snyder Road driven by Sandra Shasteen, 68, of Ansley Way, who was stopped to turn onto Lincoln Avenue at 11 a.m. Friday. Shasteen was transported by KLG Ambulance to Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries.
COLUMBIANA
– A South Bayshore Drive woman reported at 5:16 a.m. Monday a car was sitting in a driveway a few houses down with its four-ways on. Police checked on the vehicle and it appeared the lights had been left on from neglect.
– A man reported at 1 p.m. Monday he had possibly witnessed a domestic in Firestone Park and the man and woman left on foot in opposite directions. Police check the park and surrounding areas but did not find the couple.
– A woman reported at 6:25 p.m. Monday a puppy was chained to a pole in the alley behind the Generation Dance studio. Police checked but the puppy was no longer there.
– A man reported at 7:35 p.m. Monday power lines were down on Fairfield Avenue between the fork and Metz Road. Police notified the street and electric departments and contacted AT&T and Comcast regarding the downed lines.
– A woman reported at 7:46 p.m. a power line was down on North Elm Street near Herbster Road and was still sparking and the light was on. The street and electric crews were called to fix the problem.
— A man reported at 9:35 p.m. power lines were draped across other lines on North Main Street. Police taped the area off and flares were dropped until the electric crew could get there due to responding to other calls of the same nature.
– Police notified Ohio Edison of a power outage in the area of the 7&14 gas station at 11 p.m. Monday.
LISBON
– Police conducted a welfare check on Tabitha Parrish at North Beaver Beaver Street at 1:20 p.m. Thursday. There were no problems.
– Police conducted a walk through of the Family Recovery Center at 10:12 p.m. Monday after a cleaning crew reported there were two suspicious men standing outside when they arrived. There were no problems.

– Police were asked by Boardman Police to check the well-being of someone in the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 12:22 p.m. Monday, but they found there was no such address as the one provided and the incident occurred in Washingtonville.
– Police responded to a medical call at 11:49 a.m. Monday at Buckeye Elementary on Buckeye Avenue where a student appeared to be having an allergic reaction and some difficulty breathing. First responders treated him until a family member arrived and the student was released to him.
– A suspicious person was reported walking through people’s back yards on Southeast Boulevard at 9:46 a.m. Monday. An officer located the male who said he was just taking a shortcut to get to a friend’s house and won’t do it again.
– Susan Sowers, 60, of East State Street, was cited for assured clear distance after her eastbound vehicle failed to stop and struck the back bumper area of another eastbound vehicle driven by Kari Miller, 33, of Maple Street, who was approaching a red light on East State Street at 9:41 a.m. Monday.
– A man on Jones Drive reported at 8:27 a.m. Monday that his wallet was missing from his residence and suspected a female acquaintance. The wallet contained his identification and a debit card. The female was contacted and said he accused her of taking it but she didn’t and told him to file a police report.
– Police were called at 5:19 a.m. Monday to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue for a suspicious male knocking on doors and asking for money. An officer located the person walking away from the area and made contact, telling him to cease his actions.
– An intoxicated driver was reported at 9:57 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of East State Street. The vehicle was located unoccupied.
– A domestic was reported in the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 9:48 p.m. Sunday. Officers spoke to the people involved and all had been consuming alcoholic beverages and gave conflicting accounts of what occurred. One person claimed to have been struck, but had no visible injuries and recanted her story. One person agreed to leave for the evening and stay with a family member.
– A woman came to the station at 8:37 p.m. Sunday about being harassed. Officers told her she would have to file the complaint in the jurisdiction where she lives.
– Police responded to an animal complaint in the 2400 block of East State Street at 6:01 p.m. Sunday. An animal was found inside a vehicle with all four windows down a few inches. The owner was located and had made a quick stop inside the store.
– A dog was reported at large at 5:52 p.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of Merle Road, with officers told the dog may be aggressive. Officers found the dog and attempted to catch it, with the dog appearing friendly and displaying no signs of aggression. The owner was also trying to catch the dog and was told a citation could be issued if the dog gets loose again. The owner was still attempting to catch the dog.
– Police responded to an alarm at a business in the 1000 block of South Broadway Avenue at 5:29 p.m. Sunday. The building was found secure and officers found two people photographing it. After the keyholder arrived, the officer checked the business with the employee and the two photographers were advised to stay off the property unless they’re given permission to be on it.
– Police were called at 5:19 p.m. Sunday to the 2200 block of East State Street to check on a dog inside a vehicle with all the windows up. An officer checked on the dog and found the vehicle running with the air conditioning on.
– A barking dog was reported in the area of Washington Avenue and Mound Street at 3:46 p.m. Sunday. The owner took the animal back inside before police arrived.
– A man on South Howard Avenue reported at 1:54 p.m. Sunday that medication was stolen from his residence. He had just refilled the prescription and found it missing when he came home. He believes he knows who took it but isn’t sure how to prove it.
– David Algaier, 31, of 12205 Goshen Road, was cited for driving under suspension after an officer on patrol located a suspicious vehicle from a previous complaint at 1:12 p.m. Sunday, watched the driver pull into a property in the 400 block of Park Avenue and then head on foot through several yards. He was told to stop and was detained due to his behavior. Nothing illegal was found on him or in the vehicle after a consent to search was given. It was found that he was driving under suspension. A female had contacted police at 12:26 p.m. Sunday to report illegal activity involving a local cab company, with a followup investigation conducted.
– A woman in the 900 block of Prospect Street reported at 9:24 a.m. Sunday that she arrived home and discovered someone broke the screen out of her living room window. She believed someone had been in the house because the dog was out of its cage. The interior of the residence was checked and she didn’t find anything missing at the time of the report.
– A female came to the station at 8:34 a.m. Sunday to report she believed someone stole medication from her vehicle while she was out and about, but called back later to say she found the missing items in the garage.
– Daryl Bixler, of Ridgewood Drive, reported at 7:38 a.m. Sunday that someone shattered the passenger side window of his vehicle the night before. Nothing appeared missing from the truck.
– At 12:42 a.m. Sunday, police conducted a followup investigation for a domestic dispute from Saturday night in the 800 block of West Pershing Street after it was determined one of the persons involved had given officers a false name. Officers spoke to the man and he continued to give false information concerning his identity. Officers made multiple attempts to verify his information at the scene, but were unable to do so. Finally the man admitted he had been lying about his identity and claimed his real name was Paul V. Murphy Jr.. He was placed into custody for obstructing official business and while being processed, he had again given false information and was then processed as a John Doe and taken to the Columbiana County jail. While at the jail, his true identity was determined. Paul D. Dabney Jr., 26, of 840 W. Pershing St., was charged with obstructing official business.
LISBON
– Tasha Higgins, West Lincoln Way, reported at 6:57 pm. Thursday she purchased a four-wheeler and was not satisfied with its condition and believed the seller had wronged her. Police told her it was a civil matter and to contact an attorney.
– Police went to 401 Washington St. at 11:56 p.m. May 2 after receiving a call from a woman who was slurring her words and said she had cuts on her arms and was bleeding. Police found Lisa Odey, who gave several different stories for the injuries, and told her to go inside for the night and call back in the morning if she wished to file charges.
– Mark Hal, East Lincoln Way, requested at 8:17 a.m. Friday a raccoon be removed from behind the home. A wildlife ranger took the raccoon.

– Police checked on a disabled vehicle at the electric substation on the south side of the city at 12:57 a.m. Sunday and found no other problems.
– A woman reported at 2:40 a.m. Sunday there was a disabled vehicle on Metz Road near the railroad tracks. Police found the vehicle belonged to Kathy Harmon and attempted to contact her without success, but she later returned with someone else who had taken her to get some fuel for the car.
– Police handled a zoning complaint at 28 S. Middle St. at noon Monday.
– A woman reported at 5:25 p.m. Monday a line was down along East Woodland Avenue. Police found it to be a cable TV line.
– Police were called to a traffic crash in the area of Salem and Main streets at 5:45 p.m. Monday but found no one there.
– Jeannie Hiner, Spruce Street, requested at 10:10 p.m. Sunday police check on some residents of a another Spruce Street home after she saw a bright flash coming from there and then the house went dark. Police went to the home but were unable to make contact with the residents.
– Police checked on an unoccupied vehicle in the Locker Room parking lot at 1:29 a.m. Saturday and found no problems.
– A woman reported at 11:23 a.m. Saturday someone in a white GMC was driving recklessly westbound on state Route 14 near state Route 46. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver who said he was on a conference call and was not being mindful of where he was.
– The highway patrol reported at 5:48 p.m. Saturday they received a report of a gray Ford traveling recklessly eastbound on state Route 344 at 5:48 p.m. Saturday. Police stopped the vehicle and found it was an elderly woman who had just come off a 12-hour shift and was tired.
– Richard Schwartz, East Park Avenue, reported at 8:20 p.m. Saturday two people came out of the back woods near his home. Police spoke with the people and found they were there looking for mushrooms and there were no problems.

– Gilbert W. Cannon III, 38, Washingtonville, was cited for driving under suspension and speed following a traffic stop on Egypt Road near state Route 14 at 3:35 p.m. Friday.
– Eduardo Alan Clark, 28, Kent, was cited for driving under suspension, failure to display valid registration and fictitious plates following a traffic stop on state Route 14 at Seacrist Road at 12:03 p.m. Saturday.
– Morton Michael Hiles, 27, Youngstown, was cited for driving under suspension and speed following a traffic stop on Fifth Street in Beloit at 4:43 p.m. Sunday.

Salem reports
– Police responded to the 400 block of Newgarden Avenue at 2:25 a.m. Sunday regarding a report of suspicious people in the parking lot but were unable to locate anything.
– Police responded to the 700 block of W. State Street at 1:14 a.m. Sunday and checked on a report of a suspicious van in the parking lot. A vehicle was located and the driver was advised of the complaint. He said he had been in the store and made a purchase and was arguing with his girlfriend on the phone.
– At 1:52 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1900 block of E. State Street to assist the sheriff’s department with a combative patient at the hospital. The man was restrained.
– At 4:26 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2800 block of E. State Street where two people failed to pay for their cab ride. An officer arrived and they paid, but one was found to have been criminally trespassing on the property and the information will be forwarded to the county prosecutor’s office for review.
– At 4:38 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the railroad crossing at Mullins Street where a water line was broken and advised the water department.
– Police responded to the 900 block of Home Circle at 5:08 p.m. Saturday where drug paraphernalia was found behind the residence. The fire department was on the scene to collect it due to possible harmful chemicals. The items were disposed of at the police station.
– At 6:02 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 300 block of N. Lincoln Avenue where drug paraphernalia was found on the front yard. The complainant showed police a syringe and it was taken to the police station for disposal.
– Police in the 400 block of S. Broadway Avenue at 6:15 p.m. Saturday observed a crowd acting in a hostile manner outside the bar and asked it to disperse, which they did. One person reported being assaulted prior to police arriving and all the people were identified and advised of the options.
– At 8:16 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of W. Pershing Street regarding an assault report and spoke to all the people involved. A statement was taken from the victim and the suspect was given the opportunity to make a statement. The report will be forwarded to the county prosecutor.
– Police responded to the 100 block of W. Pershing Street at 8:25 p.m. for an irate woman yelling obscenities at a person and trying to incite and incident. An officer calmed her down and advised her not to bother the person anymore.
– At 8:43 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of W. Pershing Street regarding a report of disorderly people and spoke to all of them. Some decided to leave the area to avoid further problems.
– At 9:50 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 300 block of W. Second Street for a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of W. Second Street at a business. Police were unable to locate it and a representative of the business said that some scrap metal was stolen. The incident is under investigation.

– Police responded to the 200 block of West Wilson Street at 1:45 a.m. Saturday where a woman advised her boyfriend shoved her and a dresser outside and broke the dresser and a fish bowl. They were observed lying in the backyard and she advised he head-butted the dresser, breaking the back side of it. Another officer spoke with him at another location and he advised that she assaulted him and red marks on his forehead were from that. It was determined there was no assault and both agreed to stay away from each other for the rest of the evening.
– Police in the 900 block of East State Street located two juveniles playing on the sidewalk. They said they were walking to the gas station and were taken to their residence and their parents said they would handle it.
– At 12:51 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 800 block of Newgarden Avenue for an indecent exposure report and located the man on Arch Street. He advised he did urinate outside his grandparent’s property and he was advised of the laws.
– At 2:03 a.m. Saturday, police patrolling in the area of Fair Avenue and East Pershing Street observed a group on the sidewalk in a verbal altercation. One male had to be detained. Two became involved in a physical altercation and both had visible injuries but did not want to pursue charges and everyone was told to go on their separate way.
– At 8:08 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 100 block of North Howard Avenue where two syringes were located and taken to the station for disposal.
– At 7:38 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a report of a possible sexual assault on a juvenile. The possible victim lives in Perry Township and information was gathered and forwarded to Perry Township police.
– At 11:37 p.m. Friday, police a resident from the 400 block of West Wilson Street was on station and wanted a report of menacing to be placed on file.
– At 11:28 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 400 block of East School Street for a burning complaint. Smoke was observed but the fire department could not locate the source.
Columbiana
– Amanda Rubin, West Salem Street, reported at 12:35 p.m. Thursday she was harrassed over the phone.
– Ian Wrenn, West Salem Street, reported at 2:56 p.m. Thursday that while on his way home from school, a group of students threw rocks at his car.
– Kyle S. Martin, 19, West Calla Road, Salem, was traveling on his motorcycle north on state Route 46 at 5:23 p.m. Thursday when he hit Jordan M. Stefko, 20, Canfield, who was turning left onto state Route 46 from the Sandwich Factory parking lot. Martin was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. Stefko was cited for failure to yield from a private drive.
– A woman at Firestone Park reported at 7:49 p.m. Thursday some children were fighting behind the first pavilion. Officers spoke with several children, who claimed they were just playing around.
– During a traffic stop on Springfield Road at 10:02 p.m. Thursday, Micheal M. Nagle of Norwalk was cited for driving under suspension and expired plates, and was taken into custody on a warrant from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s office.
– A North Main Street man reported at 10:17 p.m. Thursday a black car was swerving all over the road going towards the circle.
– A woman reported at 9:37 a.m. Friday there was an auction on Parkview Avenue, and people were parking and creating a problem for traffic to flow properly down the street. Officers observed the area and saw no problems.
– Richard S. Hazel of Leetonia was attempting to park in a parking spot at the Columbiana Dodge dealership on Commerce Circle around 4:33 p.m. Friday when he struck a parked car owned by Benjamin L. Grande of West Middlesex, Pa., causing minor damage to the rear bumper.
– Stephanie Patterson, Springfield Road, reported at 4:27 p.m. Friday she was harrassed by someone she knows.

– Officers responded to the 400 block of Legacy Lane at 3:26 p.m. Thursday where a cab driver reported two people who had paid for a round trip from Cleveland and he did not believe they had the money to pay him. The officers told the cab driver that there was no way to know if he gets paid when they return to Cleveland and that they had not committed any crime at that time of the report.
– Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 9:51 p.m. Thursday and found a verbal dispute regarding family matters. The man involved agreed to leave for the evening.
– Police responded to an East State Street restaurant at 10:16 p.m. Thursday where an employee requested multiple loitering individuals be removed from the parking lot. They all agreed to leave.
– Officers responded to an East Fifth Street home at 12:40 a.m. Friday where the resident said that six Latino men had arrived in his yard and challenged him to fight regarding the resident’s allegedly punching one of the men’s girlfriend. Officers were unable to find any of the men.
– Police responded with fire department first responders to a South Broadway Avenue business at 1:26 a.m. Friday where a woman had fallen off a picnic table, causing a laceration on the back of her head. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
– Eric Stanislaw, 46, 2969 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, was charged with physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated, obstructing official business and resisting arrest after officers responded to an East State Street business where an employee reported a drunk driver in the parking lot at 3:15 a.m. Friday.
– Megan McClaskey, 22, 174 W. Fifth St., Salem, was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence after police responded to her home at 4:30 a.m. Friday where she allegedly had physical altercations with her husband and another woman of the household.
– Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue for a report of a child in the roadway at 9:54 a.m. Friday. The child was found walking southbound on Continental Drive and was returned to the mother, who said that she had fallen asleep and did not know the child had gotten out.

– Eric M. Craig, 48, 226 Vine St., Salem, was cited for expired registration and fictitious plates following a traffic stop on Benton Road at Florida Avenue at 8:11 a.m. Thursday.
– An officer responded with an ambulance and the Columbiana County coroner responded to a 100 block Georgetown Road home for a deceased man at 4:38 p.m. Thursday. No signs of foul play were observed.
– Police responded to the 300 block of West Pine Lake Road for a neighbor dispute at 7:17 p.m. Thursday in which children were riding their bicycles on property not owned by either person. They said they were given permission by the property owner.
– Police responded to the 300 block of Plymouth Place at 10:08 p.m. Thursday where a resident reported his home had been damaged after being struck by potatoes.
– An officer investigated a complaint of loud music in the 600 block of Main Street at 12:34 a.m. Friday and discovered it coming from a vehicle. As the officer entered the property the resident approached and said that his attorney told him officers could not be on his property without a warrant. An unidentified person turned down the music.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– John E. Taylor, 63, 12205 Goshen Road 54, Salem, was charged with two counts of operating a vehicle intoxicated, failure to control, open container and a seatbelt violation following two separate one-vehicle crashes Tuesday morning. According to police, Taylor was northbound on Goshen Road when he struck a mailbox in the 12000 block and continued to his home at the Colonial Villa trailer park. He then drove into a field, backed out and finally struck his trailer while pulling into its driveway.
– Robert J. Toporcer, 66, Youngstown, was cited for right of ways at stop signs following a two-vehicle crash in Green Township at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday in which he was northbound on Lisbon Road and allegedly failed to yield from the stop sign at state Route 165, striking an westbound vehicle driven by Louis J. Cannatti, 54, Poland. Cannatti was treated for possible injuries on scene.
LISBON
– Police checked on a raccoon reportedly stuck in a fenced in yard at 12:59 p.m. Wednesday on East Lincoln Way. The raccoon did not appear ill and ran to hide under a porch.
– Joann Tolson, East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, reported a raccoon outside at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday. Police were unable to find it.

SALEM
– A wallet found at the KSU City Center on North Lincoln Avenue was turned over to police at 1:38 p.m. Thursday. The owner will be notified.
– A hit/skip was reported at 1:31 p.m. Thursday in the city when a semi hit a light pole and dented the light pole. No information was given for the semi.
– An officer traveling at Southeast Boulevard and State Street was dispatched at 12:27 p.m. Thursday to check on a reckless driver on West State Street traveling east. The car was identified as a blue Nissan with Massachusetts plates. The car was followed but the officer never saw a violation.
– Police were called at 12:04 p.m. Thursday for a report to document missing medication from a residence in the 2200 block of Tanglewood Drive. The caller advised the resident has been short in her prescriptions for the last four months or so and upon an internal review, she said it was believed the medication may have been taken by one or more aides who visit the resident. The company and police will investigate.
– Police were dispatched at 11:05 a.m. Thursday to the 200 block of Vine Avenue for an attempted break-in. The resident believed someone attempted to break into his house after midnight. The back door had pry marks by the door knob and one of the screens on the back side of the residence was opened. The residence was not entered and nothing was taken.
– Dogs at large were reported at 8:41 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Two dogs that looked like German shepherds were found running back and forth between Lincoln and Penn. Officers lost contact with the dogs.
– Loud persons were reported standing beside a dumpster in the 300 block of Vine Street at 2:02 a.m. Thursday, but no one was found.
– Two males were reported fighting in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:31 a.m. Thursday in a parking lot, but nobody was found.
– Police were called to Salem Regional Medical Center at 10:11 p.m. Wednesday for an alleged assault. A juvenile had been assaulted earlier in the day at Waterworth Memorial Park. Options were explained and the incident was under investigation.
– A motorist at 10:01 p.m. Wednesday was given a verbal warning for a moving violation after a traffic stop in the 2400 block of East State Street. The driver gave consent for the vehicle to be searched, but nothing illegal was found.
– A juvenile problem was reported at 9:36 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Police spoke to the male caller and the juvenile and learned it was a verbal altercation. Nothing physical occurred.
– Police were called at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday to the 600 block of East Third Street where a juvenile broke a neighbor’s window by accident while playing outdoors. An officer spoke to both the juvenile and the property owner.
– A fight was reported at 6:41 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Newgarden Avenue where a man said a juvenile ran out in the road and he almost struck him. He made contact with the juvenile’s parent and there was a verbal altercation. Nothing physical occurred.
– An ATV was reported on the road at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Sharp Street. Police spoke with a man on an ATV on his property and told him to stay off the road or be cited.
– A woman came to the station at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday with concerns about the well-being of a relative on Franklin Avenue. She was told her options.
– Sherrie Moore, 51, of 121 1/2 N. Market St., Lisbon, was taken into custody on an active warrant for a secret indictment in Columbiana county after an officer on patrol saw her walking on a sidewalk at 3:08 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. He checked for the warrant, confirmed it and took her into custody. While searching her purse before transport to the county jail, the officer located drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending lab results.
COLUMBIANA
– Alex Michael Holsinger, 19, state Route 7, New Waterford, was exiting a driveway from 44612 state Route 14 in Columbiana at 5:17 p.m. Monday and struck Amy Jo Forinash, 39, Elm Street, New Waterford, who was westbound on state Route 14. Holsinger was cited for failure to yield from a private drive.
– Kelly Fryer, 19, Columbiana-Lisbon Road, reported at 1:16 p.m. Tuesday she left her vehicle unattended in the Taco Bell parking lot for about 20 minutes and when she returned she noticed someone had struck it, causing damage to the rear left side.
– Police went to the high school at 3:17 a.m. Tuesday for a report of three suspicious vehicles in the parking lot. Police found the vehicles were unoccupied and secure and there were no problems.
– Patricia Mayer reported at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday there was a low hanging line around 109 N. Pearl St. Police checked and found it was a phone line.
– Tim Meggitt, Court Street, reported identity theft at 8:46 a.m. Tuesday.
– Melanie Scott, North Middle Street, reported at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday her daughter told her there was a black stray dog growling at her while she was on the porch. Police attempted to keep the dog away from the kids in the area and the county dog warden was notified.
– A woman reported at 8 p.m. Tuesday three young boys were possibly fighting near McDonald’s.
– A 10-day warning letter was sent to 208 Quincy Ave. at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday for junk motor vehicle.
– A man reported at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday there was a vehicle with expired plates at 406 Fairfield Ave. Police sent a 10-day junk motor vehicle letter.
– A woman, name and address not listed, reported at 8:55 a.m. Thursday someone put sauteed onions in her gas tank and she was also receiving harassing text-messages and a letter from her ex-boyfriend.
– The county dog warden was able to catch a loose dog on North Middle Street at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday and take it back to the dog pound.
– A Col-Pump employee reported at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday a man who had recently been fired was being disruptive and cursing. The man was given his final paycheck and agreed to leave the business.
– Police warned the residents of 446 and 436 Quincy Avenue for barking dogs at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday.
– Quinn Frease, East Friend Street, reported at 9:11 p.m. Wednesday someone was in their house the other day without permission.

SALEM
– City police were searching for a 17-year-old girl who ran from her mother’s car while they were stopped at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and State Street at 1:01 p.m. Wednesday. Dressed in a blue jumpsuit from the Tobin detention center, the girl was incarcerated at the Tobin center, but was permitted to be transported to the hospital by her mother for treatment. Prior to arriving at the hospital in Salem, the juvenile, who’s from the Salem area, fled on foot from the intersection. Officers checked the area for a long time, but she was not located.
– At 10:07 a.m. Wednesday, police spoke with an East Third Street woman and others involved in a possible sexual offense that occurred last summer within the city limits. The case is under investigation and has been reviewed by detectives.
– Police were called to Fairview Avenue /Merle Road at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday for what appeared to be two AT&T phone lines down. One was still connected to a residence and the other was broken in half. AT&T was contacted to respond. The owner of the residence pulled the line up off the road. The other line was already in the yard.
– An anonymous caller at 4:27 a.m. Wednesday reported that two males wearing hoodies were walking around a residence in the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue. Officers checked around the residence on foot, but didn’t locate anyone. The residence was secure. Two males were stopped and identified on North Lincoln Avenue near the Salem News who matched the description, but denied walking around the residence. They were sent on their way.
– Tina Shamp, of the 1000 block of West Fourth Street, reported at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday that her video game system along with a few games had been stolen from her residence. She believed a relative stole the items while she was asleep.
– A caller at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday reported several people possibly engaged in illegal activity in the 2700 block of Lexington Avenue. They left before police arrived. Officers spoke with a tenant and family member who were having a verbal altercation about the people being at the tenant’s apartment. Officers checked the area on foot but did not locate anyone. No illegal contraband was observed.
– Someone placed a set of barricades in the street in the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 10:06 p.m. Tuesday. The barricades had previously been left there for a line down, but the line had been repaired. Officers took the barricades down and placed them on the curb lawn.
– An unruly juvenile was reported at 8:08 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West State Street. The juvenile had been acting out after being disciplined. An officer spoke with the juvenile about consequences of unruly behavior.
– Police responded at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of West Wilson Street where the owner of a duplex said the neighbors had been seen on the property and he does not want them there. Officers spoke to the neighbors and advised they’re permitted to use the sidewalk but to stay off the property next door. They indicated they understood and said the owner of the property threatened them about coming back on the property. All parties were told to avoid further contact.
– Jonathan Benning, of the 800 block of East Third Street, reported at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday that someone stole his guitar from his residence.
– A woman on South Howard Avenue called at 5:26 p.m. Tuesday to report phone harassment from her sister. She said she asked her sister several times to stop texting her but she continues to text her. Officers said they would call her sister and tell her to stop contacting her.
– An officer on patrol investigated a possible domestic dispute at 5:06 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of South Ellsworth Avenue. The officer spoke with the two involved and found there was no criminal violation.
– Police were called at 4:54 p.m. Tuesday to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue to check on a resident who called Help Hotline. Fire department first responders and KLG arrived and the person was voluntarily taken to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– An officer on patrol at 4:49 p.m. Tuesday on Olive Street saw a suspicious, possibly occupied, vehicle backed into a business property. The vehicle left when the officer turned around to check it out. The vehicle was located and stopped to confirm there was no issue. The driver presented a receipt for a purchase at the business.
– A man in the 800 block of West Pershing Street reported at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday that back in 2010 someone used his identity to get cable turned on in Alliance while he was living in Salem. He reported this to his new place of residence in Salineville, notified Alliance Police and was told to file a report with Salem Police.
– JoAnn Barto, of Lisbon, reported at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday that sometime from last Wednesday to Tuesday, someone removed a Yamaha keyboard from a closet area of St. Paul Church, 157 Ohio Ave. She said the item was always stored there. She was checking with the church to see if her insurance or the church insurance should cover the loss.
– Jack Slye, of East Rochester, reported at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday that he was parked in the lot at Walmart on East State Street and when he returned to his vehicle, he noticed damage to the driver side front bumper.
– A woman in the 400 block of Sharp Street reported an ATV in the road at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday, saying a neighbor has been riding in the alley behind her home.

– Police were advised at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday about two runaway female juveniles at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Prospect Street. Police made contact and discovered one of them had a runaway/unruly juvenile warrant. Both were taken to the police station for processing. The one with the warrant was picked up by a Columbiana County Sheriff’s deputy. The other female was picked up by an employee of the Redemption House out of Youngstown.
– Police saw a vehicle driving on a flat tire on West State Street in the 1100 block, stopped the vehicle at Idaho Avenue and changed the tire at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday.
– Deann Clark, 45, of 9458 Stratton Road, was taken into custody on an active warrant for failure to appear after a traffic stop at 12:13 p.m. Tuesday on North Ellsworth Avenue. She was turned over to a deputy.
– Police spoke with a woman in the 1100 block of Prospect Street regarding a possible civil issue at 6:34 p.m. Monday. Officers said they would talk with the other half involved but told her to seek legal advice from an attorney.
LISBON
-Ronald D. Baker, 48, of Canton, was cited for failing to stop for a flashing red light at the intersection of North Market and North Park at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday.
– Police checked on the house of Dick Wilkes, North Market Street, at 11:20 a.m. Monday and found it secure.
– Carol A. Smith, East Washington Street, struck a street sign while driving on East Washington at 11:58 a.m. Monday.
– A barking dog complaint was received in the 100 block of West High at 12:44 p.m. Monday. Police spoke to the owner, who took the dog inside.
– Bobbi Crookston, West Lincoln Way, reported Monday someone she knows stole her ID, food stamp debit card, Direct Express card and Social Security card. The person confessed to doing so, but Crookston does not where the person is currently located.
– Police were called to the Lewis residence at 9:38 p.m. Sunday, where the Lewises complained their son Jermaine was on drugs and causing problems, and they wanted him to leave. Jermaine said he would do so if they gave him some money but he agreed to spend the night at his friend’s house. Police were given permission to search his room for drugs but did not find any. Jermaine was back at 1 a.m. Monday, banging on a bedroom window. He was charged with disorderly conduct after refusing police requests he calm down.
– The Ohio Department of Transportation reported two tractor batteries worth $500 each were stolen from vehicles parked at the temporary ODOT garage on South Jefferson.

SALEM
– Lines were reported down on Ohio Avenue at 10:59 a.m. Tuesday. A caller said a large white truck ripped down several cable lines. Police were unable to find the truck, but Time Warner was contacted to repair the damaged lines.
– A man on West South Range Road came to the station at 10:19 a.m. Tuesday to file a fraud report, saying he ordered some items online for $5 and received a statement from his bank saying the same company he ordered from was now charging his account $94. He tried to call the phone number for the company and the number was from a different business out of Denver, Colo. He was told not to order any more products from the website. The incident is under investigation.
– William Spanbauer, of Monroe Street, reported at 8:29 a.m. Tuesday that he parked his Jeep in front of his apartment building and he came out in the morning to find the vehicle gone. The 2006 green Jeep Commander was locked.
– Loud persons were reported at 11:52 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of North Howard Avenue. The people at the residence said they were only outside for a few minutes and were speaking in normal voices. They went back inside.
– A Youngstown woman came to the station at 11:47 p.m. Monday to file a harassment report, saying her ex-boyfriend has been leaving unwanted items on her vehicle at her place of work. She was told her options.
– A woman in the 600 block of East Seventh Street reported at 9:59 p.m. Monday that a person has been coming to her home and calling her after she told him to stop contacting her. Officers will speak to him and advise him to stop all contact or face charges.
– An officer on patrol at 8:54 p.m. Monday on South Lincoln Avenue saw two vehicles near Franklin that appeared to be having a road rage issue. The officer couldn’t see the registration of the small white vehicle, but did follow behind a green SUV on South Lincoln Avenue that was traveling in excess of the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver and occupants said there had been a road rage incident resulting from the white vehicle pulling from Ohio Avenue onto Franklin and then brake checking the SUV. The SUV driver was given a verbal warning for speed. The other vehicle was not found.
– Police responded to an alarm drop at 8:37 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of East State Street, checked the exterior and found it secure. A keyholder arrived and the interior was checked, with everything found in order.
– Police were called at 8:20 p.m. Monday for a suspicious person in the area of Jennings Avenue and West State Street. The person was located and said he was walking to work and talked to a friend who stopped in a vehicle. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary and police knew both people.
– A fight was reported at 7:52 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of Walnut Street. Officers arrived and spoke to both people involved who said they were showing each other wrestling moves. Both had been drinking and were advised to go home for the day. They were also told if police received anymore reports involving their disorderly conduct, they would be arrested.
– A woman in the 400 block of Sharp Avenue called at 6:13 p.m. Monday regarding ongoing problems with a neighbor. She provided numerous messages from social media which indicated possible threats towards her. Police obtained copies of the messages and spoke with the neighbors about the issue.
– Police responded at 5:26 p.m. Monday to the 1700 block of East Third Street to assist the fire department with an open burning complaint. The resident was upset with emergency personnel and did not want to allow them to extinguish a back yard fire that was generating an excessive amount of smoke due to leaves being burned with the wood. He reluctantly extinguished the fire and was given a verbal warning for open burning.
– Police were dispatched to Salem Regional Medical Center at 2:22 p.m. Monday to talk with a man about how he was being treated there from the staff. He talked to an officer in the parking lot, was calm, and told officers he was not seen for three hours and was in need of pain medication for his injured eye from the day before when his juvenile son accidentally scratched it. He had sunglasses on. The officer went inside and spoke to staff members who said the man was impatient, rude and using his cell phone to video and using profane language. Several times they asked him to calm down and stop using the video. After he did not stop, they asked him to leave and had security escort him outside. Medical center policy is no recording devices and they indicated he would have to go somewhere else. The officer told him what they said and he wanted to dispute it. He was told the officer had enough legal reason to remove him from the property. He wasn’t happy, but left without incident, given a ride by an officer to another place.
– An unruly child was reported at 1:34 p.m. Monday at Reilly School where officers spoke with the student and staff about the problem. The student was still very vocal and loud and finally calmed down. A parent responded and took custody of her son without incident.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 1:16 p.m. Monday on Aetna Street, but police learned all was ok.
– Salem Library Director Brad Stephens reported at 12:02 p.m. Monday that he was working on tracking a male who has been removing DVDs without checking them out or returning them. The file will be dropped off for police to investigate, with possible prosecution.
– The manager of Sparkle Market, South Lundy Avenue, reported at 8:48 a.m. Monday that a known person with mental issues was in the store without permission after previously being banned indefinitely. Management called to have him removed because in the past he has become violent and agitated and caused genuine fear and anxiety for customers and staff. He left before police arrived, so officers went to his residence on Walnut Street and an officer explained to him several times that’s he’s not permitted to go back to the store or he’ll be arrested for criminal trespassing. He was also reminded that he’s not permitted at the post office. He said he understood.
– No citation was issued after a semi truck ended up on its side in the 1200 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:50 a.m. Monday. The truck owned by Falcon Transport and driven by Carroll Henderson , 34, of Ashtabula, was northbound on Jennings when the driver said a vehicle traveling the same direction passed him, causing the semi to hug the east side of the road. The passenger side tires went off the road and into a ditch, causing the semi to roll on its side. No injuries were reported. Two witnesses confirmed what the trucker said. Firefighters responded to the scene and applied oil dry to a small oil leak. The semi was not loaded with any hazardous materials.
COLUMBIANA
– Dennis Miller, North Cross Street, reported at 1:34 p.m. Monday a Waste Management truck pulled a line down across North Cross Street and kept going. Police determined it was a phone line and not an electric line.
– Lisa Dawn Kauffman, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 4:58 p.m. Monday she was having child custody issues. Police told both parties to seek an attorney as it was a civil matter.
– A woman reported at 5:58 p.m. Monday a woman in a tan SUV was asking for money in the Sparkle parking lot. Police were unable to find anyone matching the description.
LISBON
– Jermaine N. Lewis, 29, Sherman Street, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after police were called to the home by Cora Lewis at 1:06 a.m. Monday. Mr. Lewis was reportedly banging on a bedroom window, which prompted the call. Mr. Lewis also admitted smoking marijuana and was taken into custody after he refused to calm down.

– Police responded at 3:23 p.m. Monday to a burglary in progress in the 100 block of West Fourth Street, checked the house and found it secure.
– Police responded at 3:10 p.m. Monday to the 800 block of Summit Street to assist another agency in recovery of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located and the Youngstown Police Department was notified.
– Officers were called at 2:42 p.m. Monday to the city administrative offices in city hall on South Broadway Avenue for a male visitor acting erratically and concerning the staff. As officers arrived, he was already leaving the building.
– A medical call was reported at 2:23 p.m. Monday when a male patient went into distress while in treatment at Fresnius Medical Care, 2345 E. Pershing St. First responders and EMT Ambulance treated him and he was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center.
– Cathie Miles, manager of the Smith Center, 500 E. Fourth St., reported a theft at 1:05 p.m. Monday. The stolen items were found and the male left before police arrived. The male won’t be permitted back at the building and paperwork was provided to police to advise he’s not allowed there anymore. A welfare check of the male was also requested due to a statement he made prior to leaving. He was not found.
– A clerk at Smith Oil, 968 E. State St., reported at 12:44 p.m. Monday that someone in a red Ford Focus left without paying for $10.01 worth of gasoline.
– Officers responded at 11:31 a.m. Monday to the 500 block of Continental Drive to speak with a woman regarding a theft. She said she was in the laundry room of the apartment complex and laid her cell phone down. When she returned to get her phone, it was gone. She tried to call the phone several times, but has not located it.
– Todd Kirtley, 27, of 408 S. Ellsworth Ave., was taken into custody on an active warrant for failure to appear on a criminal mischief charge after an officer on patrol at 2 a.m. Monday saw a suspicious vehicle parked along Filbert Avenue behind a residence on South Ellsworth Avenue. The vehicle registration didn’t return to the address and there was one male occupant in the passenger seat. He told police his friends must have left him asleep in the vehicle and that they live in the residence. Upon investigation, police made contact with the resident, Kirtley, who had the active warrant. He confirmed the other man’s story and was turned over to a Columbiana County sheriff’s deputy.
– A Leetonia man reported at 1:03 a.m. Monday that he went on his lunch break at work in the 500 block of South Ellsworth Avenue and found his truck sprayed with silly string.
– Police investigated an alarm at a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 11:25 p.m. Sunday. The keyholder was on scene, the interior was checked and everything was found in order.
– Officers checking on a dispute in the 500 block of East Third Street at 9:06 p.m. Sunday saw an unattended fire at the rear of a residence. The resident was contacted and said the cookout was left unattended briefly due to the disturbance next door. Police had been called for a fight and discovered a dispute between a juvenile and an adult. The juvenile was told to have his parent take of the problems in the future.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 8:25 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Wilson Street where a woman in the driveway said she and her boyfriend were having a verbal dispute and he wouldn’t move to allow her and the children to leave. No threats or violence occurred. Officers assisted her in being able to leave and spoke with her boyfriend.
– A caller at 8:04 p.m. Sunday reported vehicles traveling in and out of a shed at an excessive rate of acceleration in the 400 block of Sharp Avenue. The residents said they would correct the problem.
– A resident in the 600 block of Cedar Street spoke to police at 7:55 p.m. Sunday regarding a property line dispute with a neighbor who she said is mowing beyond the property line and cutting the landscape shrubs. She was told it’s a civil issue that would require surveying and consulting an attorney.
– Maximo Pastor, 27, of 509 Columbia St., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to control and expired license after his eastbound vehicle struck a westbound vehicle driven by Gary Ramsey, 41, of Granite Avenue, on East Fourth Street approaching Lincoln Avenue at 7:37 p.m. Sunday. The Pastor vehicle continued onto North Lincoln and struck a utility pole. Pastor was treated at the scene by EMT Ambulance for a possible injury.
– A man on South Union Avenue called at 7:24 p.m. Sunday to speak with an officer about problems he’s having around his residence. He was told his options.
– A Washingtonville woman reported at 6 p.m. Sunday that she responded to pick up her children from visitation with their father at a Newgarden Avenue property and he became belligerent and spit on her, kicking her vehicle before she left. An officer suggested she have the custody exchange on East Pershing Street near the police department, but she didn’t want to pursue it. She just wanted it documented.
– Police responded at 5:43 p.m. Sunday to the 400 block of Sharp Avenue for an animal complaint and advised residents of their legal options, also speaking with a neighbor.
– A tractor trailer operator reported at 5:12 p.m. Sunday that sometime while his trailer was parked in the 500 block of Prospect Street someone damaged a ratchet strap and stole two large tarps from the trailer. He said the trailer had only been in the lot since 10:30 a.m.
– A crossing gate malfunction was reported at 4:27 p.m. Sunday at the railroad crossing at South Ellsworth Avenue. Officers confirmed the gates were down with lights flashing and no train. Railroad personnel were contacted to respond.
– A woman from Prospect Street reported a possible child abuse incident at 2:59 p.m. Sunday which occurred in or near the city by a relative of her son.
– Police responded to a store in the Salem Plaza at 2350 E. State St. at 2:27 p.m. Sunday when store employees had a male detained at the rear of the store, advising he was concealing an item in his pants before they made contact. Officers spoke to the male and told him he’s no longer permitted in the store. The store declined to prosecute at this time due to the items being of small value.
– A woman came to the station at 1:23 p.m. Sunday to report an incident that occurred in Salem with her ex-husband when he became irate and acted threatening upon picking up their children. He made allegations against her for seeing someone else and said he was signing off on visitation with the children which upset their juvenile son. The woman appeared upset and fearful of her ex-husband.
– A resident reported a vehicle abandoned in the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:08 p.m. Sunday, saying the vehicle had been parked in the lot for over two months. The vehicle did not have a license plate and the vin number did not reveal the owner. The apartment building owner said he’s having the vehicle towed off the lot.
– A woman in the 1100 block of East 10th Street spoke with an officer at 11:15 a.m. Sunday regarding a civil question over property. Police later spoke to the male half by phone.
– An abandoned vehicle was reported at 9:39 a.m. Sunday on South Avenue where a man said it had been sitting on the street since Thursday. Contact was attempted with the owner, with a warning tag left on the vehicle.

– A caller at 9:52 p.m. Sunday reported a possible sexual assault between a male and female screaming in the area of East Pine Lake Road and North Ellsworth Avenue, possibly walking on Pine Lake Road. An officer located two juveniles who said they had been yelling but there was no problem. They were told to stop due to the time of night.
– An intoxicated male was reported at 5:28 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Prospect Street. The male was found and a taxi was called for him.
– An intoxicated male was reported walking in the road in the area of state Route 14 and the state Route 45 bypass at 3:28 a.m. Sunday, but didn’t find anyone.
– An officer on patrol at 9:52 p.m. Saturday saw a suspicious vehicle at a closed business on state Route 9. A male was found sleeping inside the cab, identified and checked for warrants. He said he became fatigued and didn’t want to drive in that condition. He was checked to make sure he was safe to continue driving and sent on his way.
– Township police assisted a Columbiana County deputy sheriff with a welfare check on a suicidal male on South Egypt Road at 9:41 p.m. Saturday until another deputy could respond. Police had also assisted on a similar call at the same residence Saturday morning.
– Police responded at 6:52 p.m. Saturday to the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a two-vehicle hit/skip accident. Sarah Hanley of East Fifth Street, Salem reported she was southbound on Lincoln slowing to turn into an apartment complex when a southbound motorcycle passed her vehicle, striking the left side. The motorcycle fled the scene and was not found. No injuries were reported.
– Vincent Noling, 47, of Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 12:40 p.m. Friday on state Route 45 and state Route 9.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– Gary M. Rowles II, 32, 325 W. Oregon Ave., Sebring, was charged with misdemeanor theft after officers responded to the Dollar General in Beloit at 10:09 p.m. April 28 in which he attempted to remove approximately $72 in merchandise without paying.
– Police responded with Beloit EMS to a Boxwood Drive, Beloit, home at 4:46 p.m. April 30 where the resident had been bitten by a dog running loose. The dog’s owner, Michelle L. King, 41, 40 Boxwood Drive, said that the dog escaped her home when her son opened the door and that her husband was unable to catch it. The dog was not licensed and King was unaware if it had shots or not since she had only had the dog for approximately one month. Charges for failure to confine and failure to register the dog are pending.
– Joshua L. Mango, 19, Niles, was charged with underage possession and consumption of alcohol following a traffic stop in which he was a passenger on state Route 45 near Western Reserve Road at 4:40 p.m. Sunday. The driver was cited for speeding.
– Bud D. Wood, 51, 720 Adams Ave., Salem, was cited for failure to reinstate and no tail lights following a traffic stop on state Route 14 west of state Route 534 at 3:47 a.m. Monday.

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at the ball fields on Metz Road at 1:17 a.m. Sunday and found there were no problems.
– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at the tennis courts at Firestone Park at 1:56 a.m. Sunday and found there were no problems.
– A woman reported at 6:19 a.m. Sunday there was a man who was possibly homeless man outside the Marathon gas station. Police told the man to move along. At 9:28 a.m. a man reported a man wearing no shoes who appeared to be homeless was lying in the parking lot next to Vivian’s Antiques on South Main Street. Police told the man to move along. At 9:43 a.m. a man reported at a man who appeared to be homeless was walking down the street near Annie’s Attic swearing out loud and talking to himself. Police identified the man as John Murch, 49, of Warren, and warned him for disorderly conduct. At 10 a.m. a Marathon employee requested Murch be removed from the property as he was talking to himself and had taken up camp next to the ice box.
– Melanie Genova reported at 2 p.m. Sunday her husband who she is separated from was attempting to commit suicide. Police had the man taken to an area hospital by EMS.
– At 7:15 p.m. Sunday a Marathon employee reported the homeless man from earlier had returned. At 7:50 p.m. the man was found sitting outside R’s Pizza and refusing to move from the outdoor table.
– An East Park Avenue woman reported at 7 p.m. Sunday her ex-boyfriend had just left the home and was driving after he may have been drinking. Police could not find the vehicle.
LISBON
– Gretta Burton asked for police to accompany to her home on North Green Street to gather some belongings at 8:42 p.m. Saturday. Police stood by and there were no problems.
– Thomas Entrikin reported at 7:39 p.m. Saturday that Mary Schulis and Kevin Criss were fighting and that Criss was causing problems with him. Police went to Maple Street Extension and spoke to Schulis and Criss, who said Entrikin was the one causing problems.
– Kathy Spooner reported at 5 a.m. Saturday seeing an older model Chevrolet Suburban near her garage and yelled, and the driver left. Spooner later noticed her push mower was missing.
– A security alarm went off at 528 E. Lincoln Way at 8:37 p.m. Friday after it was accidentally set off by the resident.
– Harry McKee of Youngstown reported Thursday guns he kept in a house on North Beaver Street were missing. McKee said his wife still lives in the residence and that one of his children has his guns. McKee was advised this was a civil matter and that his wife has a right to get rid of anything in the house.
– Jasmine Lockett, West Lincoln Way, called for police at 11:51 p.m. Saturday because she was not feeling right and needed to go the hospital. Police remained until an ambulance arrived to transport Lockett.
– Ronald N. Springer, 86, Glasgow Road, Lisbon, was cited for assured cleared distance after he drove into the rear of stopped vehicle driven by Dale H. Milburn, 74, of Brewster, at the intersection of Lincoln Way and Market Street at 5:50 p.m. Friday.

– Police issued a parking ticket at 7 a.m. Sunday for a van blocking a small portion of a driveway in the 200 block of East Sixth Street.
– City police assisted Perry Township Police at 5:32 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Prospect Street for a male to be removed. They found that the male had been assaulted outside the residence. An officer stayed on scene until the township officer finished up.
– A reckless operator was reported at 9:43 p.m. Saturday in the Walmart parking lot on East State Street. Police spoke with multiple males and told them to act in a responsible manner.
– An officer on patrol at 8:15 p.m. Saturday checked an open door in the 100 block of Continental Drive, checking the building and finding no one inside. Officers were able to secure the door.
– An officer on patrol at 7:59 p.m. Saturday located an open door on a closed business on Legacy Lane. An employee was contacted who corrected the problem.
– Officers met fire department personnel at 7:43 p.m. Saturday at 110 W. Pershing St. for an open burning complaint. Firefighters saw the fire at the rear of the residence unattended for over an hour and said they had a similar complaint on the midnight shift. Officers attempted contact with the resident, but he was absent. Contact was made with his girlfriend and she was told to tell him this call was the last warning. Anymore calls like this will result in a citation. Firefighters had been to the same residence at 6:49 a.m. Saturday to extinguish a cookout fire still burning from the previous night.
– A dog was reported at large in the 600 block of Fair Avenue at 7:34 p.m. Saturday. Officers searched for the animal, but were unable to find it.
– Police spoke at 6:02 p.m. Saturday with a resident from the 800 block of South Lundy Avenue about one to be removed and about legal options.
– Police were called at 5:54 p.m. Saturday to the 2800 block of East State Street for a vehicle being operated recklessly. The vehicle was located in a parking lot and the driver told about the complaint. Officers did not witness any violation.
– A resident in the 200 block of Vine Avenue talked to police at 5:41 p.m. Saturday regarding possible drug activity in the area. The information will be forwarded to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.
– A woman from the 800 block of South Lundy Avenue reported at 4:56 p.m. Saturday that her food assistance card was missing. She suspected a male took it and was out of town at this time.
– A clerk at Smith Oil, East State Street, reported a drive-off at 2:56 p.m. Saturday when a driver in a Chevy pumped $17.50 worth of gas and left without paying.
– Police responded at 2:44 p.m. Saturday to Orchard Bend Drive for a report of children operating an ATV on the road. Officers checked the area and saw juveniles in a field riding a go-kart. The parent was contacted and told about the complaint and to have the kids keep off the road.
– An alarm drop was reported at 2:32 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Ellsworth Avenue. The business was found secure.
– Police responded to a report of an assault at 2:04 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Union Avenue. Two people who reside at a home there advised the caller from Minerva had left and there had been a minor altercation. They just wanted him to stay away from the residence. He told police he had shown up to get property from his ex-wife when her new boyfriend assaulted him. All parties were told to stay away from each other.
– An alarm drop was reported at 11:42 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of West Fifth Street. The residence was secure.
– Fred Liggitt, 66, of Kennedy Drive, was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control after his southbound vehicle on South Madison Avenue struck the rear of a parked car owned by Hannah McFarland of South Madison Avenue at 9:01 p.m. Saturday.

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at Columbiana Tire at 12:39 a.m. Saturday.
– Jamie Banks reported at 2:48 a.m. Saturday there was a disabled vehicle in the area of West Park Avenue and Esterly Drive. Police found the vehicle was outside city limits and stood by until a tow truck arrived.
– Brock Lesko, an employee of the Links at Firestone, reported at 6:18 a.m. Saturday someone stole gas from their fuel tanks.
– A Church of Christ employee reported at 12:19 p.m. Saturday an upset man had come to the church for the second time demanding to get the pastor there to pray with him and then became upset when he was told the pastor wasn’t able to be there. The man was gone before police arrived and the employee was told to call the department if he returned.
– Police were called to St. Jude Church at 12:48 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious man and found some open doors at the church, but nothing else out of the ordinary.
– A man reported at 10:31 p.m. Saturday a man sitting on a bench on South Main Street appeared to be homeless. Police checked on the man and found he did not appear to be in any distress or doing anything illegal.
– Police checked on a vehicle that was parked up against the back of a building at Newton’s across from the Circle K gas station at 11:40 p.m. Saturday and found it belonged to the business owner.

– Police were dispatched at 12:07 p.m. Saturday to the 100 block of South Union Avenue to speak to a male about a problem he has been having. He was given some advice.
– An anonymous caller reported a needle laying in a front yard in the 800 block of East Third Street at 11:17 a.m. Saturday. An officer responded and found the syringe in the yard, bringing it to the station for proper disposal.
– Police responded at 11:15 a.m. Saturday to the 100 block of Ohio Avenue for a report that a car alarm had been going off for two hours. The owner of the vehicle wasn’t home but was reached by phone and gave officers the OK to disconnect the battery.
– An officer on patrol at 6:43 a.m. Saturday saw an unattended fire in a back yard in the 100 block of West Pershing Street. An attempt was made to contact the resident but was unsuccessful. The fire department responded and put the fire out.
– Police responded to a 911 hangup call at 4:34 a.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Carole Drive, learning a female accidentally hit the emergency dial button on her boyfriend’s cell phone. There was no problem.

– An officer was flagged down at 1:34 a.m. Saturday by a woman from South Union Avenue who reported her ex-boyfriend was following her and her new boyfriend and harassing her and sending unwanted text messages. She requested an escort to her residence thinking he may be there. He wasn’t there. She wanted the incident documented.
– Criminal mischief was reported at 10:04 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of East Third Street where a man reported someone threw an apple at his home.
– Police responded at 9:54 p.m. Friday to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue for a report of indecent exposure. No one matching the description was found.
– Joseph Lynn, 32, of East 10th Street, was cited for failure to control after his eastbound vehicle on 10th Street struck a parked car owned by Aaron Cosma, also of 10th Street, at 8:28 p.m. Friday. There were no injuries.
– A combative person was reported in the emergency room at Salem Regional Medical Center at 8:27 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, staff had taken care of the situation.
– A dog was reported at large at 8:12 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of East Third Street. The owner told police the dog got out by accident. An officer helped the owner catch the animal. The owner was warned that if the dog gets out again, there could be a citation issued.
– An audible alarm was reported at 7:51 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Pearce Circle, but the exterior of the building was secure.
– Police were called at 7:51 p.m. Friday to the emergency room at Salem Regional Medical Center for a possible domestic situation. The situation was found to be a medical problem, nothing criminal.
– An officer heard an audible alarm in the area of South Broadway Avenue and Franklin at 6:18 p.m. Friday. Businesses were checked, but the source was not located.
– A man in the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard reported at 5:21 p.m. Friday that something suspicious occurred on his property. He was told a report would be filed.
– Solicitors were reported in the 2900 block of East State Street at 4:15 p.m. Friday. The vehicle left before officers arrived.
– A suspicious person was reported at 4:12 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Broadway Avenue. Police located a man who said he was just passing through town and trying to locate a friend. He left.

– James Phillips, 56, of New Waterford was attempting to turn left from Chestnut Street onto Mulberry Alley at 9:20 a.m. Friday when he struck a stop sign on the corner.
– Michael Oesch requested at 10:06 a.m. Friday to file a credit card fraud report on behalf of his father.
– Trent L. Willis, 19, of Salem was cited for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after it was discovered during a traffic stop at 2:58 p.m. Friday at the Ace Hardware parking lot.
– The Lisbon post of the State Highway Patrol advised Columbiana police at 6:33 p.m. Friday of a blue Ford F-150 driving recklessly coming from state Route 344. Officers were unable to make contact with the vehicle.
– Daniel Gaines reported at 7:33 p.m. Friday that two children were in a vehicle parked outside Arby’s. An adult walked from across the parking lot before Gaines hung up. Officers were unable to make contact with the car.
– A woman reported at 11 p.m. Friday a man from R’s Pizza threw garbage into the woman’s garbage can. Police learned he was a new employee and didn’t know where to throw the garbage away.
– Beaver Township police advised Columbiana police at 11:11 p.m. Friday they were looking for a white two-door Pontiac Grand Prix that was involved in a road rage incident with front-end damage. Officers were unable to locate the car.

– Officers responded to a domestic dispute on French Street in Damascus on April 24. The victim declined to file charges.

– A man on Third Street reported at 10:16 a.m. Thursday that he was contacted by his bank regarding two checks cashed by his son totaling $50. He said he didn’t give his son permission to take the checks. The incident is under investigation.
– Drug paraphernalia was reported found at 9:56 a.m. Thursday on Arch Street and brought to the station for proper disposal.
– Police were called at 8:49 a.m. Thursday to the 300 block of West Pershing Street where it was reported someone was throwing rocks at work trailers. Officers located an adult male throwing baseballs at a piece of metal he set up in his back yard. There were no signs of damage to the trailers.
– Clinton Parker Jr., 35, of 190 Woodland Ave., was cited for fictitious plates and expired registration after a traffic stop at 6:37 p.m. Thursday.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 12:07 a.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard. The victim said she and her ex-boyfriend got into a physical altercation. She didn’t want medical treatment and no physical marks were observed.
– A suspicious male was reported loitering in the area of the 800 block of Summit Street at 8:58 p.m. Wednesday. Nobody was found.
– At 8:44 p.m. Wednesday, police spoke to a man who called 911 from a group home on Carole Drive. The resident said he was upset with how he was being treated. A case worker explained to him that he should call the prescribed number for him to call, not 911.
– Police responded to Centennial Park at 7:32 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a male using the women’s restroom. Police were unable to find anyone fitting the description.
– A woman at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday reported a liquid had been dumped on her car in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. There did not appear to be any damage.
– A woman called from the 1600 block of East State Street at 4:12 p.m. Wednesday to report a patient had prescription medicines missing and the patient did not know where they were. They had been left on the kitchen table. Officers were provided with a list of people who had been at the residence, with the incident under investigation.
– A caller at 3:56 p.m. Wednesday reported a female had stolen an item from a business in the 500 block of East State Street. The female was later located and the item recovered. The person who called declined pursuing theft charges.
– Police responded to a call about a fire at 3:36 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Buckeye Avenue after several 911 hangup calls stating a house was on fire in the area. While enroute, dispatch called to report the calls were coming from a juvenile who was playing on a cell phone. Officers and the fire department checked the area and confirmed there was no fire.
– A woman on East 10th Street reported at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday that someone broke a dinner plate in the street in front of her house and she’s unable to clean it up since she’s disabled. Officers swept up the glass and disposed of it.
– A woman at 485 E. State St. reported at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday that a female came into the business and grabbed her cell phone, which was setting on a table, and walked out heading north on Lundy from State Street. Two male witnesses described her as wearing a jacket with gold wings on the back, short cut hair and only two teeth in the front. The woman called back and said the female returned the phone.
– An officer assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office at 1:44 p.m. Wednesday with the serving of a warrant on Maple Street. The person was located and taken into custody by a deputy.

– A woman reported at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday a child was riding a four-wheeler up and down Sixth Street near Edgewood.
– Terrence Howell reported a theft from Star Fab at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Lisbon
– Robert J. Ohler, 36, of Amsterdam, was cited for speeding while driving on state Route 517 near Churchill Road at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday. Ohler was reportedly going 54 mph in a 35 mph zone.
– Courtney S. Waters, state Route 517, was backing up in the Circle K parking lot and Jessica K. Hendricks of Beaver Falls, Pa., was pulling in the lot when their vehicles collided at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday.
– A worker from Karvo Paving reported Tuesday that 200 gallons of off-road diesel fuel were stolen from a tanker truck parked at the concrete plant lot on East Washington Street.
-Someone reported the security alarm was going off at the Ohio Edison substation building on Pritchard Avenue at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday. Police arrived and the alarm was not going off.
