SALEM REPORTS

– Police responded to an alarm at a business in the 1400 block of Allen Road at 1:48 a.m. Sunday. Officers located an open door, a key holder arrived and officers checked the interior.

– An alarm activation was reported at 1:40 a.m. Sunday at a business in the 2800 block of East State Street. All outer perimeter doors appeared secure.

– Police responded to a pair of calls on Pearce Circle Saturday night, with one resident at 10:59 p.m. reporting a person ringing doorbells and running through yards. Another resident at 7:55 p.m. had reported someone knocking on her windows and door. No one was there when she went to answer the door. Police were unable to find anyone during searches of the area. Police had responded to an audible alarm at 6:54 p.m. in the 1700 block of Pearce Circle, but found the residence secure.

– Police were called at 9:59 p.m. Saturday to the area of East State Street and the city limits for a reported three-vehicle accident with injuries. The accident was located on state Route 14 near Egypt Road in Goshen Township territory in Green Township. City police provided traffic control until the proper police authority arrived on the scene. No other information was available about the accident.

-A man from the 500 block of Columbia Street reported at 8:41 p.m. Saturday that he received a threat from a person known to him. He was told his options and the other person was contacted by police and told to stop.

– Police were called at 7:14 p.m. Saturday to the 1200 block of East Third Street for a report of breaking and entering. A man had been legally evicted by the homeowner at the end of their relationship and he was on the property to get more of his possessions. He entered the house by knocking in a plastic window. The caller wanted the incident documented. The man was told not to enter the residence, but said he was retrieving the rest of his stuff that night.

– A woman in the 1000 block of East Pershing Street spoke to an officer at 5:34 p.m. Saturday about being a victim of identity theft. She was told her options.

– A man in the 1300 block of South Union Avenue reported at 5:19 p.m. Saturday that someone unknown entered his residence and took his computer.

– A man in the 200 block of West Eighth Street reported at 4:51 p.m. Saturday that someone walked into his house while he was in the shower and took two of his wallets.

– Thomas Piatt, 21, of 438 Vine Ave., was taken into custody at 3:20 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear. He was turned over to a Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

COLUMBIANA REPORTS

– Police stood by at a Union Street, Columbiana, home at 11:45 a.m. Saturday while Ron Hoffman retrieved property at the home. There were no problems.

– Police assisted a person who was locked out of her vehicle at the Dutch Cupboard in Columbiana while her child was inside at 12:43 p.m. Saturday. They were able to get inside.

– Josie M. Borelie, Columbiana, went to the police station at 5:55 p.m. Saturday and asked police to verify she had removed her IV after signing herself out of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

-A possibly intoxicated driver was reported at the pumps at the Duke and Duchess at 9:45 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– An alarm was reported at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Tru-Cut, 75 Elm Ave. Officers walked through with the owner and all was found to be fine.

– A barking dog was reported at 8:03 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue. The resident was upset over the call and said the neighbor behind him needs to mind his own business. He had just put the dogs out, but was coming to take them back inside.

– Officers responded at 11:54 p.m. Friday with fire department first responders and KLG Ambulance to the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue where a man was down. The man was found to be intoxicated and had apparently fallen. He was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

– A woman from Lexington Avenue reported at 11:04 p.m. Friday that a known male was verbally harassing her in the 500 block of East Pershing Street.

– Police were called at 10:21 p.m. Friday to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge for criminal damage that occurred in the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue. The suspect could not be located.

– A clerk from Murphy USA, 2869 E. State St., reported at 10:02 p.m. Friday that an unknown person in a dark blue Pontiac G6 left without paying for $20 worth of gasoline. Contact will be made with the passenger who was identified.

– Police were called at 7:03 p.m. Friday to Speedway, 175 W. State St., for a person loitering in the parking lot. No one was located.

– Sharman Callahan, 64, of Kennedy Drive, was cited for failure to yield after he attempted to turn right from Continental onto East State Street and his vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Ricky Armstrong, 58, of Depot Road, at 5:08 p.m. Friday.

– A woman in the 700 block of Franklin reported at 2:53 p.m. Friday that she received a letter that said she won a cash prize and all she needed to do was send a portion of a check that was sent with the letter back to cover taxes and fees. An officer told her it was a scam. He said if she had won a cash prize, she wouldn’t have to pay an up-front fee to get it.

– A man came to the station at 2:32 p.m. Friday to report getting into a verbal dispute with another man at a local business in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue. There was no physical altercation.

– A man in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue reported at 12:05 p.m. Friday that a package of merchandise delivered to his house was apparently taken from outside the residence. The U.S. Postal Service confirmed that the package was delivered.

Columbiana

– Cheryl Rae Elder, 57, Sykesville, Md., was backing out of a driveway on Manor Drive at 6:42 p.m. Friday when she steered off the driveway, into the yard and struck a fire hydrant. The fire hydrant was damaged and spilling water. The water department was alerted to shut off the water.

-A noise complaint was made at 2:16 a.m. Friday on South Main Street. the person responsible for making noise was warned.

– Police checked the area of state Route 344 and the city limits for a vehicle involved in an incident in Leetonia. The vehicle was not located.

– Allison Suggett, North Pearl Street, reported at 9:20 p.m. Friday her son’s father, Preston Woods, went to her mother’s house where she was staying and banged on the door wanting in. Then he left, but continued to circle the area. Police contacted Woods by telephone and told him not to return there.

– A woman on East Friend Street reported at 11:33 p.m. Friday someone had a huge fire in their backyard and embers were flying everywhere. Police spoke to the residents at 132 E. Friend St., who said they were done burning for the evening and letting the fire burn down.

Lisbon

– A smoke alarm was reported in room 104 at the Fleming House at 4:31 p.m. Friday. A second smoke alarm was reported at the Fleming House at 8:27 a.m. Saturday.

Center Township

– A sexual assault was reported on Pritchard Avenue Extension on Nov. 20 with a mother reporting her juvenile daughter was sexually assaulted by a family member. The matter is under investigation.

– Police responded to Rose Drive apartments on Nov. 20 where a woman claimed a man ran towards her. Police checked the area but could not locate anyone.

– Police responded to Pondi’s for an intoxicated man in a vehicle on Friday. When they arrived, police found he had consumed too much alcohol. He called his father, who picked him up.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– Patty J. Colian, 65, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a three-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of East State Street at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday in which she was eastbound and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by David A. Shaffer, 59, Salem, and pushing it into the rear of a vehicle driven by Beth A. Hale, 30, Salem. Colian and her 19-year-old passenger, as well as Shaffer, were transported by ambulance to the Salem Regional Medical Center for possible injuries.

– An officer responded to the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 10:18 a.m. Thursday where a resident had video footage of a man entering his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway. The resident said nothing was missing, however.

– An officer responded to the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a burglary in progress at 10:21 a.m. Thursday, but found it to be residents trying to get inside a home with the keys not working properly.

– Police responded to the Allen Road area for a report of a natural gas smell at 10:22 p.m. Thursday, but could not detect anything.

– Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center Emergency Room at 12:12 a.m. Friday where a female juvenile who had been brought in earlier that night after making suicidal threats told nurses that her father had been abusing her and had struck her earlier in the evening. The officers spoke with the juvenile’s parents who said that she was acting out and may have been accidentally hit by her older sister but not her father.

– An officer responded to the 1300 block of Carole Drive at 2:45 a.m. Friday in reference to a water line break. The officer found the break and notified the water department.

– A patrolling officer at 4:50 a.m. Friday observed a water line break on the high school property. The water department and school administrators were notified. No leak was found inside the school.

COLUMBIANA

– David F. Stoy, 78, Old North, Columbiana, was making a left turn from state Route 14 into a private drive at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday and struck Greg A. Riddle, 55, Poland, who was westbound on state Route 14 within the right turn lane for state Route 164. Stoy was cited for failure to yield making a left turn.

– Someone reported at 3:41 p.m. Wednesday there were two kids in the clothing bin at the rear of the Lutheran Church. Police warned the boys for trespassing.

– A Circle K employee reported at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday someone paid for items using rolls of half dollars.

– A man reported at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday Trevor Lodge, 21, Salem, and Ricki Woods, 20, Columbiana, were fighting on South West Street. Police spoke with Lodge and Woods, and both did not wish to press charges.

– Police stood by for Columbia Gas after a leak was reported near Cashland at 5:58 p.m. Wednesday.

– Ashley Wood, South West Street, reported at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday her ex-boyfriend, Trevor Lodge, had been driving around her house and made threats to damage her car.

– A woman reported at 10:47 p.m. Wednesday she saw a man with a large duffel bag near the railroad tracks on Parkview Drive, and that she also saw him step in front of a car and try to flag it down, and believed he may need help. Police checked the area but the man was no longer there.

LISBON

– Police were called to 521 N. Jefferson St. at 11:14 a.m. Friday for a report that George Burkey went on a rant the day before and threatened to burn the house down and kill his mother’s animals and himself. Police spoke to George Burkey, who denied hurting his mother physically but said he had a bad day the day before. Police told him to stop taking his bad days out on his mother and to get help by calling police or an ambulance if he needs one during those times. Police also told him they would be by to check on his mother every once in a while. Burkey agreed and said he understood.

– Police were called to the corner of West Chestnut and North Beaver streets at 8:16 a.m. Wednesday for a report that a semi that turned north on Beaver Street from West Chestnut had hit the street sign and knocked it down. The street department was notified of the sign.

– Police told a man he needed to move his truck from in front of a business on West Lincoln Way at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday. The man moved his truck with no problems.

– Police were called to the Mental Health Department on state Route 154 at 3 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an altercation in the parking lot. A woman told police her ex-boyfriend who lives in the Kendall House took her belongings and was refusing to give them back and that he hurt her finger when he was putting the TV back in her car. The Mental Health Department manager told police he witnessed the altercation and saw no physical violence. Police stood by while the woman retrieved her belongings from the building, and there were no further problems.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– An officer investigating a complaint in the 300 block of Vine Avenue at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday discovered property on an arrested juvenile that suggested a possible trespass in a vehicle. The suspected owner of the property confirmed that someone had taken prescription medication and a CD player faceplate from her vehicle parked at her Lancaster, Ohio, home.

– An officer responded to a 600 block North Lincoln Avenue home at 7:14 a.m. Wednesday where a woman reported someone had taken $100 cash from her wallet inside her vehicle, as well auxiliary radio and USB cords.

– Police responded to a reported fight between two men in the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday and found a verbal dispute between a man in vehicle and one standing outside the vehicle. Officers discovered that the dispute originated as a physical altercation in Columbiana approximately 30 minutes prior and that a female passenger was inside a home gathering personal belongings. The officers stoodby until the people in the vehicle left.

– Christine L. Manges, 29, 829 Morris Ave., Salem, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and driving under suspension following a report of an intoxicated driver in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Southeast Boulevard at 5:54 p.m. Wednesday.

– A 100 block South Union Avenue resident reported at 6:09 p.m. Wednesday observing a known man walking away from a neighboring home of a person with whom the man no longer associates. The resident said nothing appeared to be wrong, but that he was concerned the man was tampering with the home.

– An officer responded to the north side of Waterworth Memorial Park off Sunset Drive at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday for a report of several suspicious vehicles and people. They were found to be numerous firefighters conducting joint training in the area.

– An officer responded to a 400 block North Broadway Avenue home at 6:47 p.m. Wednesday where the resident reported someone earlier in the week had entered his garage and removed his friend’s trailer which had several items on it. There were no signs of forced entry.

– Police responded to the 200 block of West Fourth Street at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday where a woman reported walking her dog in the area of West Second Street and North Howard Avenue when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle that fled the scene. First Responders and an ambulance arrived, but the woman declined medical treatment. The officer did not observe any indications that she had been struck by the vehicle. The license plate of the vehicle showed a local address, but the officer was unable to locate it.

– An officer responded to a Morris Avenue home at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday where the resident reported her daughter had been receiving harassing messages on social media.

– Officers responded to a North Ellsworth Avenue bar for a reported fight in progress at 12:18 a.m. Thursday and spoke with a person who had visible injury to his head. The other person involved had left prior to officers’ arrival. The injured man said that the other man had started talking to a woman who had arrived with him, which caused the fight. Witnesses said the injured man was intoxicated and his friends had been trying to get him leave for approximately an hour. They also said he injury was caused when he fell into a door. The man declined medical treatment and had a taxi take him home.

– An officer responded to a Cleveland Street home at 6:23 a.m. Thursday where the resident reported people were constantly walking through his driveway and yard to get to an East State Street business and that two people had just walked through prior to his calling the police. He was advised to post no trespassing signs at the edge of his property.

– Police responded with the fire department and an ambulance to an East Third Street apartment at 6:30 a.m. Thursday for a medical assist in which the resident could not reach the door. The woman was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

PERRY TOWNSHIP

– Police responded to a private property crash in the 1700 block of Hearthside Drive at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday in which Kaitlyn Neiswonger, 19, attempted to back out of her driveway and struck a parked vehicle owned by Alan Shaffer, Salem. Both vehicles received damage and the individuals exchanged information.

– A West Pidgeon Road resident reported at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday that four tires on his trailer had been slashed while it was parked in his front yard within the past six to eight weeks.

– Police responded to Jennings Avenue just south of the bypass at 7:43 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The female operator said that she pulled into a driveway to turn around and the front tire got stuck in the ditch. There was no damage to the vehicle and it was towed from the ditch.

– Police responded to a Prospect Street apartment complex at 8:29 p.m. Wednesday in reference to four individuals who were looking for a man in order to cause bodily harm to him. Officers were unable to find the individuals.

– Police responded to an Elberon Avenue home at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday where a neighbor reported the doors and trunk of the homeowner’s vehicle were open and that no one appeared to be awake at the home. Officers found numerous packages in the trunk, but were unable to contact anyone at the home. The officers closed the doors and trunk and left.

COLUMBIANA

– A caller reported the traffic light at the intersection of state Routes 7 and 14 was not cycling properly at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday. An officer sat through several light changes and determined it was cycling properly.

– A caller reported someone driving a red Cobalt was tailgating people and slamming on his brakes while traveling east on state Route 14 at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

PERRY TWP.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street for a welfare check on a resident at 5:42 a.m. Wednesday after a woman said her mother called then the phone disconnected and when she attempted to call back, it went to voicemail. Officers made contact with the woman’s mother and she said she was having problems with her new phone.

– A resident called at 11:43 p.m. Tuesday to complain about noise in the 800 block of Cunningham Road. Officers located the source of the music and asked the owner of the residence to turn it down.

– Solicitors were reported going door to door in the 600 block of East Pine Lake Road at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday. Two males from Akron were stopped and advised there is no solicitation permitted in the township. They left without incident.

– A Prospect Street resident called at 9:54 a.m. Tuesday to report the theft of a tractor owned by another family member who resides outside of the area. The family member entered into an agreement to sell the tractor and the current buyer refuses to pay the balance due, the resident reported. The resident was told the matter was civil and for the family member to contact legal counsel.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 9:58 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Prospect Street where both parties told police there was an argument, but no physical violence occurred. Police attempted to get one party to leave for the night, but both said they were not leaving. They were told the consequences of domestic violence.

– A resident of Hunt Road reported at 12:17 p.m. Monday that a suspicious blue truck was parked near the water tower with no one around. The vehicle had been parked there for some time. Officers arrived and did not locate the vehicle in question. No vehicles matching the description were found in the area.

SALEM

– A domestic in progress was reported at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of North Howard Avenue where residents let a friend move in a month ago and they began arguing and physically fighting before police arrived. None of the people involved wanted medical treatment or charges filed. They just wanted the female to leave, so she gathered her belongings and left.

– A license plate found on West State Street was placed in the police lost and found at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday.

– A resident in the 900 block of East Sixth Street reported at 6:16 a.m. Wednesday that someone entered his car. Items from the glove box and center console were scattered on the seats. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

– An audible alarm was reported at 4:36 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy USA gas station in the 2800 block of East State Street. The business was checked and found secure.

– Police were called at 3:58 a.m. Wednesday to the 200 block of Vine Avenue for a breaking and entering complaint. Upon arrival, officers found a person inside the common entrance area of the apartment building. He said he was attempting to visit a friend, but did not make contact. Officers contacted the resident who called and he said someone was pounding on the door and it sounded like someone was trying to enter his rear sliding glass door. He was told about the person officers found and said he was familiar with him but didn’t want him returning. Officers determined the person was a juvenile and noted a moderate odor of alcoholic beverage on him. He was taken into custody for being unruly and delinquent and during a search, officers located prescription medication on him that belonged to someone else. He was processed and released to a guardian. The case will be forwarded to the juvenile division.

– Marlin Catlos, 53, of 603 W. Pershing St., was charged with domestic violence and operating a vehicle under the influence after police were called to his residence for a domestic at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday. The victim was seen with a severely swollen left eye, blood throughout her mouth and blood stains on her clothing. Fire department first responders and EMS Ambulance responded and the female said her live-in boyfriend struck her in the face with a closed fist over an argument about him drinking alcohol. He wasn’t there but police conducted a traffic stop at 1:32 a.m. at East State Street and Lundy Avenue on his vehicle, wanting him for questioning in the domestic violence incident. He had been reported to have been intoxicated. After investigation, officers processed him for the two charges and took him to the Columbiana County jail.

– Police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge at 11:23 p.m. Tuesday for a reported burglary. The residence was checked with the resident and nothing was reported missing.

– Police stood by at a Maple Street residence at 8:39 p.m. Tuesday while the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office placed a person in custody for an incident in their jurisdiction.

– An intoxicated driver was reported at 8:04 p.m. Tuesday in the area of East State Street and Cunningham Road. The vehicle was located already parked at a residence and unoccupied.

– An officer on patrol at 6:58 p.m. Tuesday found a dog at large in the 1900 block of East Pershing Street. The animal was secured and returned to the owner.

– A suspicious person was reported at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Vine Avenue. No one was found in the area.

– An audible alarm was reported at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday in the 2700 block of East State Street. An officer checked the building and found it secure.

– A woman in the 200 block of Vine Avenue reported at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday that cash was taken from her apartment within the past two days.

– Theodore Bullard, of East Euclid Street, reported at 3:22 p.m. Tuesday that his car was struck and damaged while parked in the lot at the northwest corner of Lincoln Avenue and Third Street.

– Matthew Ayers, 24, of 468 Columbia St., was taken into custody at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday on an active warrant out of Mahoning County. He was processed and turned over to a Mahoning County deputy at a predetermined meeting point.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– Police were called at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday to outside Giant Eagle, 2401 E. State St., for a complaint of loitering. Officers located a male and a female with a dog on the sidewalk near the east side entrance/exit doors. They were advised of the complaint and denied asking for money. They were told they were not wanted there, especially sitting holding a dog. They picked up their belongings and moved on.

– A red vehicle was reported parked on the sidewalk in the 600 block of East Pershing Street at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday, but no vehicle was found.

– A dog at large was reported at 6:06 a.m. Tuesday on the corner of North Ellsworth Avenue at Seventh Street where a dog had gotten tangled in its leash and was stuck in the middle of the road. Officers were able to untangle the leash and contact the owner via dog tags. The owner picked up the dog and was given a verbal warning for dog at large.

– A domestic dispute in progress was reported at 10:50 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Franklin Avenue. Police learned it was a dispute between husband and wife over custody of their children. Both were told their options. The female said she was pushed during the incident and gave a written statement.

– Geoffrey Johnson, 29, of Vine Street, was cited for a turn signal violation and plate light violation and was given a noted warning for failing to comply with an officer’s request for documents after a traffic stop at 10:44 p.m. Monday. The report said the stop was initiated over an equipment violation and moving violation on East State Street. The driver initially refused the officer’s request to identify himself, but when given a final opportunity to identify himself before being arrested, he complied.

– A suspicious person was reported on the roof of a business at 2362 E. State St. at 9:24 p.m. Monday. The fire department responded and officers checked the roof of the building, locating nothing suspicious.

– Tessie Molnar, 42, of North Jackson, was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center for possible injuries after a one-vehicle accident at 3:27 p.m. Monday at Union Avenue and State Street. The report said the driver told police she lost her brakes and left the road so not to hit any other vehicles. No citation was issued.

COLUMBIANA

– A 10-day junk vehicle notice was sent to Brian Styen of Lisbon on Monday for a vehicle on Fitzpatrick Street.

– A 10-day junk vehicle notice was sent to Johnna Sherrill of Columbiana on Monday for a vehicle on Lisbon Street.

– Police found a chain gate down along West Railroad Street at 2:36 a.m. Monday but found no problems. The gate was down due to neglect.

– Police checked on a contained fire at Col Pump at 4:59 a.m. Monday.

– A Quest Diagnostics employee reported at 7:45 a.m. Monday they could smell burnt rubber in the office. Police checked and found no fire or smoke inside the building.

– A woman reported at 11:30 a.m. Monday there was something in the road on state Route 14 near state Route 7 and vehicles were swerving to avoid it. Police checked but the item was already gone.

– Amber Tuttle, Camelot Drive, reported at 1:15 p.m. Monday the windshield of her vehicle was broken sometime during the night.

– A woman reported at 4:39 p.m. Monday there was a possible drunk driver eastbound on East Park Avenue and then onto state Route 14. Police checked but did not find the vehicle.

– A highway patrol trooper reported at 5:27 p.m. Monday there was a truck and trailer at East Park and James streets that had lost its load of hay onto the road. The bales were off the road when police arrived.

– A Union Street resident requested assistance with contacting their son in Juneau, Alaska. Police were able to make contact with the man and they were able to get them in touch with one another.

POLICE REPORTS

LISBON

– Denise Achberger, North Beaver Street, reported Nov. 18 her ATM card was used in Florida without her knowledge to order pizza on four different occasions – three times at Papa John’s and once at Domino’s. The total cost was $119.

– Police were called to Columbiana County Juvenile Court facility on Nov. 18 because a female student said a male student was talking about his plan to blow up the school and he knew what it took to assemble a bomb. Police located the boy at the county vocational school and he denied making any such statement or even knowing how to make a bomb. The boy said the girl asked him how to make a dry-ice bomb and he told her. The youth was told not talk about such things again or make threats.

– Police checked a basement on Maple Street at 1:11 a.m. Thursday after receiving a call from Paige Hensley, but they did not find anyone there.

– Police were called to the county mental health center at 8:29 a.m. Friday after a caseworker reported receiving a sexually explicit text message from one of her male clients. The client later texted her to say he sent it to her by accident. The caseworker responded by telling him he was being assigned a male caseworker. Police said they intend to contact the male.

– Dora Jarvis was driving on North Market Street near Morris Street when she struck a utility pole guide wire at 11 a.m. Friday. Jarvis said she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake. Jarvis and her passenger, Jane Smith, were uninjured and there was no damage to the guide wire.

– Police arrived at the BP station at 5:27 p.m. Friday to assist EMTs in loading a person into an ambulance after he was treated with Narcan for a possible drug overdose. The person was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

– A caller reported seeing three youths in the area of Home Savings and one of them urinated on a light pole on West Lincoln Way at 4:41 p.m. Friday. The youths were gone by the time police arrived.

– Police were called to an apartment house on East Washington Street at 6 p.m. Friday in response to a possible domestic dispute involving an arguing couple. The officer spoke with the couple, who said they were arguing over a spilled bag of chips and drink.

– A caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle on Race Road at 10:53 p.m. Saturday. Police found two men, who said they were having vehicle troubles but had just got it running again.

– While on patrol at 11 p.m. Saturday, police noticed the main gate to the high school football stadium was open. Upon further investigation they found an open door to the main building but no one was located inside nor did anything look out of place.

– A window was found broken at the Cherished Children day care center at 1:09 p.m. Saturday.

– Scott Wolfe, North Market Street, reported at 4:49 p.m. Sunday receiving harassing text messages from his ex-girlfriend and her male friend, both of whom live at the homeless shelter on Maple Street. Police called the number and left a message for them to stop.

– A caller reported at 5:53 p.m. Sunday having trouble getting hold of East of Chicago Pizza because its phone kept ringing busy. When the person called back no one answered and became concerned, which is when the police department was notified. An officer went to East of Chicago and found the restaurant to be busy and operating normally.

COLUMBIANA

– Heather Warner, South Main Street, reported at 1:17 a.m. Sunday she was involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend and he had a gun. Warner was arrested for domestic violence and the matter remains under investigation.

– Matthew Petrosky reported at 1:42 p.m. Sunday someone backed into his vehicle in the Circle K parking lot and caused damage.

– A man reported at 7:58 p.m. Saturday a black Ford Escape in the Columbiana Ford dealership parking lot had its windows open.

– Chalsa Ervin, Pueblo Lane, requested police walk through the home for a safety check at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

LISBON

– Albert Mason reported at 1:45 p.m. Thursday he could not get into his rented garage on Jerome Street because the home’s tenants park their van in the driveway. Police spoke with the van owner, who said she told Mason she would move it.

– A former highway patrol trooper reported coming across a possible drunk driver coming into town west on U.S. Route 30 at 3 p.m. Thursday. An officer stopped the motorist on state Route 154, who said he was tired because he drives 90 minutes to and from work each day. He did not appear drunk, nor was there any odor of alcohol detected.

– A Mr. Greathouse showed up at the police department at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, saying he had been kicked out of the homeless shelter on Maple Street but needed to collect his belongings. Shelter officials said Greathouse was kicked out for not following the rules but he could get his belongings.

SALEM

– A woman came to the police station at 11:55 a.m. Monday to report receiving a phone call from a person posing as an Ohio Edison worker saying they needed to make payments or they were going to be shut off. She called the phone number on the bill and learned it was a scam.

– Robert Donaldson, 46, of Carey Road, was cited for failure to yield after exiting a bank parking lot on East Pershing Street and colliding with an eastbound vehicle driven by Amy Davner, 35, of U.S. Route 62, at 11:01 a.m. Monday.

– A woman on East Third Street reported at 8:31 a.m. Monday that she’s receiving phone calls with no one talking, only breathing, along with someone knocking on her door. No one is there where she looks.

– A resident in the 900 block of East Third Street reported a possible hit/skip at 8:04 a.m. Monday, noting damage to a vehicle found in the morning. A male had stopped for a visit previously and was going to be contacted by the resident.

– A dispute was reported at 10:48 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Franklin Avenue. Officers found nothing criminal occurred between the intoxicated people. A cab was contacted for one of them.

– Tracy Delphia, of the 900 block of Franklin Avenue, reported at 9:47 p.m. Sunday that firewood was stolen from the yard. No suspects were located.

– Larry Hensley, of the 900 block of Liberty Street, reported at 9:21 p.m. Sunday that the rear tire was slashed and the transmission line cut on his vehicle earlier in the week. He believed a female recently evicted from his residence may have been responsible. The case is under investigation. An officer attempted but was unable to reach the ex-roommate.

– An intoxicated driver was alleged at 8:12 p.m. Sunday in the area of North Lincoln Avenue and the city limits. The vehicle was stopped and police found the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages but did not give enough clues for impairment to warrant an arrest. He voluntarily said he would get a ride rather than drive.

– Morrison Poe, 81, of Canfield, was cited for failure to yield after the vehicle he was driving collided with a vehicle driven by William Spanbauer, 53, of Monroe Street, in the intersection of West Pershing Street and South Howard Avenue at 6:58 p.m. Sunday.

– Police responded to Newgarden Avenue at 5:36 p.m. Sunday for an open burning call. The fire department was on the scene where leaves were being burned. The open burning laws were explained and firefighters told the person what could and could not be burned.

– Police responded at 5:27 p.m. Sunday to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue for a report of an altercation between two males. The report said one person had been walking through the area when the caller, who lives nearby, confronted him about being near his residence and harassing him. Both exchanged words. The caller said the other person struck him with a partially filled beverage can. The other person admitted throwing the can but denied striking him. The caller only wanted the other person to stay away from his residence.

– A debit card was found at 5 p.m. Sunday on East State Street near Hawley Avenue and placed in lost and found.

– A dog was reported barking excessively at 3:39 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Fourth Street. Due to other calls, police were delayed and the dog must have been taken inside since no barking was heard.

PERRY TWP.

– Police were called at 1:58 p.m. Sunday to the area of Indiana Boulevard near Wisconsin Boulevard for a suspicious male, but nobody was found.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported sitting in a yard across the street from an Allen Drive residence at 1:02 a.m. Sunday. Police spoke with the owner of the property and found that a friend had gotten stuck in his yard and he had just pulled them out and they were talking.

– Police responded to a pair of motor vehicle/deer accidents Friday night, one at 11:02 p.m. on U.S. Route 62 west of North Lincoln Avenue causing damage to a vehicle driven by Annie Hank of Salem and one at 8:29 p.m. on South Lincoln Avenue near East Pidgeon Road causing damage to a vehicle driven by Robert Campbell, of Alliance.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

-Police are investigating at report of hunter shot in the 10000 block of state Route 45. A 17-year-old male from Salem was reported shot at 5:27 p.m. Saturday. The suspects include a 21-year-old male and 15-year-old male.

– At 3:44 p.m. Friday, police responded to the S. Broadway Avenue and Franklin Street intersection for a two-vehicle accident where the vehicle operated by Dorothy Geho was westbound on Franklin Street at the intersection and the vehicle operated by Frank G. Stump, 477 S. Sawburg Avenue, Alliance, southbound on S. Broadway Avenue and stopped. Both entered the intersection from stop signs and collided and both vehicle were towed away.

– At 8:50 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of Howard Avenue for a report of people leaving their trash in the dumpster. An officer contacted a woman who left her trash and advised her to pick it up or face charges and she picked it up.

– At 10:21 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 500 block of Walnut Avenue where the complainant advised a downstairs tenant was looking into the complainant’s mailbox to see what mail he was getting. The complainant also felt they were listening to him upstairs and telling others what he was doing. An officer advised him a report will be made.

– At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 200 block of N. Broadway Avenue for a person to be removed who was gone on arrival. The complainant advised he may reside a few houses north of his. Police spoke to a resident who did not fit the description but advised the person if he or anyone from the residence returned to the complainant’s they may face charges.

– At 1:07 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of S. Lincoln Avenue where there was an unresponsive man in the parking lot. A Salem doctor who was in the area administered CPR and the fire department and ambulance arrived. The man was transported to the hospital.

– At 2:55 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the Cunningham Road and E. State intersection for a report of people jumping in front of cars and asking for money. A man was advised of the no soliciting law in the city and left without incident.

– Police in the 200 block of S. Union Avenue at 1:05 a.m. Sunday stopped a vehicle for a registration violation and a passenger had an outstanding warrant from Columbiana County. Kendra S. Chestnut, 191 S. Union Avenue, was taken into custody for failure to appear and transported to the county jail by the sheriff’s office.

– At 1:20 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 200 block of S. Broadway Avenue where the complainant advised that around 3 p.m. Saturday a man who used to rent her current residence was found inside hiding upstairs. The complainant advised that at 3 a.m. the same person came in the back door and exited when he saw her. He still has a key and the complainant did not want him back. Information was obtained and an officer attempted to contact the suspect in the 300 block of S. Broadway Avenue with no contact.

– At 1:32 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street where the complainant advised he wanted to get property from the residence he used to live at. He was advised police do not do civil stand by calls without a court order. While there, the complainant’s ex-roommate did allow him to gather some small personal items.

– At 2:24 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1800 block of E. State Street after being flagged by the manager regarding a man in the drive-thru who appeared to be intoxicated and attempted to buy food with cigarettes. Brock T. Horstman, 30416 Carey Road, Salem, was charged with OVI and taken to the county jail.

– At 5:35 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2400 block of E. State Street for a person down and were unable to locate the person after searching the area with firefighters.

– Police responded to the 400 block of S. Lundy Avenue at 6:54 p.m. Saturday for a report of juveniles in the road and were unable to locate them.

– Police responded to the 200 block of W. State Street at 7:35 p.m. Saturday for a theft complaint and while investigating learned the complainant had an outstanding warrant out of the area. The complainant was upset and refused to cooperate any further with the investigation.

– Police responded to the W. 8th Street and Jennings Avenue intersection at 9:30 p.m. Saturday for a line down and notified Ohio Edison.

– At 10:04 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of Cedar Ridge Drive for a medical call. A person could be seen inside who wasn’t responding. Police and firefighters made a forced entry and the person was transported to the hospital.

– At 11:01 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street where the complainant advised that claims were being made against her husband and wanted a report to document it.

SALEM

– At 3:50 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated driver and followed the vehicle along West Pershing Street and no violations were observed. A traffic stop was made in the 300 block of East 5th Street and the driver was advised of the complaint. No impairment was observed.

– At 5:44 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 900 block of Jennings Avenue where a man was bitten by his dog and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

– At 11:46 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue for a report of a suspicious person who was located. Police were familiar with the person and he was advised to go home.

– At 6:49 p.m. Friday, police responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East 6th St. for a possibly intoxicated driver. The complainant called back saying the vehicle was southbound on South Lincoln Avenue. Another officer followed the vehicle for several blocks and no violations were observed.

– At 6:58 p.m. Friday, a complainant was on station about a situation at her business in the city. Police advised it appeared to be a civil matter.

– Police responded to the 2300 block of West State Street at 8:23 p.m. Friday where the complainant advised that while a co-worker had his back to the counter an unknown man stole $40 in lottery tickets. Statements were taken and the security video will be checked. The matter is under investigation.

– At 9:45 p.m. Friday, police responded to Jennings Avenue and West 8th Street for a report of a barking dog and monitored the area for several minutes. No dog was heard.

– At 12:17 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 800 block of Newgarden Avenue where the complainant advised a large blue trash can was taken. The trash company advised it didn’t take it.

– At 10:19 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 500 block of East 4th Street where the complainant advised that two bottles of medication were taken and believed a healthcare worker did it and claimed the worker called his doctor saying he was selling pills and now the doctor stopped seeing him. He was given a report number for his records.

COLUMBIANA

-Police were called to Edgewood Drive at 12:14 p.m. Friday to stand by while an ambulance was summoned for a medical situation.

– A Save-A-Lot employee reported there was a man in the parking lot pacing back and forth while talking on the phone and “creeping out the customers” at 3:18 p.m. Friday. The man was gone by the time police arrived.

– David S. Stambaugh, 61, Meadow Place, was driving on Springfield Road at noon Friday when he suffered a medical emergency and lost consciousness, traveling off the road and striking a utility pole. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his medical emergency.

LISBON

– Joseph Curran, Strader Road, East Liverpool, reportedly backed into a parked vehicle belonging to Robert W. Hughes, Fairway Road, East Liverpool, in the Vista Center parking lot at 6:13 p.m. Monday.

-Robert J. Crespo, 28, East Washington Street, was charged with domestic violence on Thursday after he reportedly showed up at the North Beaver Street apartment of Dawnitta Wright and started tearing up the place. He then reportedly threw Wright into the door and the kitchen table and grabbed her by the neck and began choking her. Wright said she fell to the ground, and Crespo kneed her in the face and began kicking her. Crespo denied the accusations and denied being at her apartment that morning.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– Someone reported concerns about a driver entering the city westbound on state Route 14 at 2:10 p.m. Thursday. Police saw no violations, but pulled the vehicle over to check on the driver. She admitted to being preoccupied after leaving her doctor’s office.

– A large vehicle, possibly a semi truck, reportedly made a right turn from Prospect Street onto Sharp Avenue at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, striking a stop sign and a utility pole on the northeast corner. The pole was damaged and sign knocked down. The street department and Ohio Edison were notified of the damage.

– A plant foreman at 1475 Salem Parkway requested that an irate employee be removed from the business at 2:09 p.m. Thursday. She wanted him to leave for the day. Police spoke to the employee in his car, who said he believed he was being treated unfairly regarding overtime and wanted to speak with the supervisor before he left. Police suggested he call the supervisor, who was out of the building for the next 90 minutes. The employee left.

– Police, first responders and KLG ambulance went to an Olive Street home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday where a woman reported her husband was having medical problems and needed assistance. He was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center.

– A delivery truck stuck cross-ways in the roadway was reported at 2:08 p.m. Thursday. Police found the rear bumper was stuck attempting to pull from the driveway exit at 239 W. State St., and another truck was called to pull it off.

– A suspicious vehicle was found at 1:02 a.m. Friday with its headlights on in the parking lot at 776 N. Ellsworth Ave., which was closed. The vehicle was found to be secure with no one inside. The owner was found at a home in the 800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue and he was alerted the vehicle should be moved into the home’s driveway.

– Two suspicious vehicles were reported in the parking lot at Sparkle at 11:52 p.m. Thursday, where four men reportedly got out and walked toward Columbia Street. Police did not find the vehicles or anyone walking in the area.

– Two men were walking out of an alley in the 100 block of South Broadway at 12:28 a.m. Friday. Police found they were both intoxicated, warned them and made sure they made it home safely.

– Maribel Y. Dailey, South Broadway, reported a possible breaking and entering at 7:56 p.m. Thursday. Police checked the area and the home, but found no problems.

– While on patrol, police found a vehicle, whose registered driver, Randall R. Hetrick, has a suspended license at 7:23 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle was towed. The driver ran on foot. Charges for driving under suspension may be pending.

– Sarah L. Davis, an employee at Dollar General downtown, reported at 3:54 p.m. Thursday a man took several items from the store without paying. The surveillance tapes are being reviewed and the matter is under investigation.

COLUMBIANA

– A brush fire on Redpath Drive reportedly flared up again at 2:26 a.m. Thursday after it had been put out earlier.

– Sandra Belosic, South Bayshore Drive, reported at 11:26 a.m. Thursday she has had jewelry stolen.

– A child at the Columbiana Schools alerted police to a case of telephone harassment at 2:01 p.m. Thursday.

– Police responded to the Columbiana County Career Center for an unruly juvenile Thursday. After speaking with the prosecutor, the juvenile was transported to the Tobin Center.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– A complainant was on station at 1:33 p.m. Thursday advising he let some friends stay overnight and in the morning some medication was missing. He texted the people and they denied it but continued texting him with harassing messages and he asked them to stop. An office will attempt to contact them and the missing medication is under investigation.

– At 7:49 p.m. Wednesday police responded to the 600 block of West Wilson Street where the vehicle operated by David A. Augustine, 647 W. Wilson St., had a steering malfunction and ran off the left side of the road striking a utility pole. The front airbags deployed and the driver had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Ohio Edison was advised about the pole.

– At 9:24 p.m. Wednesday police responded to North Lundy Avenue and East 3rd Street where a man had a substantial abrasions and contusions to his head and the EMT said he could not refuse transport to the hospital. A friend said he had been unconscious for two or three minutes before police arrived. The injured man resisted EMTs getting him into the ambulance and fled. The responding officer caught him approximately 100 yards away and damaged his radio. The victim and his friend gave conflicting statements and police were unable to determine the cause of the man’s injuries. He had been told several times to stop when he fled and charges are pending.

– At 6:38 p.m. Wednesday, a mother was on station regarding her juvenile son being assaulted by another juvenile while walking home from a school program at 6:15 p.m. Statements were taken.

PERRY TWP.

– A complainant was on station at 9:04 a.m. Thursday advising her juvenile son had received threats from another juvenile who lives in Columbus, Ohio via text messaging.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 9:51 a.m. Thursday for a possible domestic and learned woman had been advised of a family member dying and was upset.

– While on patrol at 12:21 p.m. Wednesday on Water Street, police observed Amber G. Jones, lka 10116 Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon, and knew there was a warrant for her from Columbiana County for failure to appear. She was turned over to a deputy who took her to the county jail.

– Police were requested to assist Salem police at 4:23 a.m. Wednesday for a loud person and stood by in the 100 block of Rose Avenue while they handled the call.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 10:27 p.m.Tuesday and the complainant advised their home nurse had recently been let go took property belonging to the complainant and won’t return it.Police were unable to contact the person and the incident is under investigation.

– Police responded to a domestic report at 11:15 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Benton Road where both people had been drinking all night and started arguing. The man said he would leave for the night.

COLUMBIANA

– Police stood by for a child custody exchange at the Columbiana Manor apartments at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday. There were no problems.

– Police checked on a report of someone in a white pickup stealing cans from the recycling bins at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday, but could not find the vehicle.

– Darrell Jackson, Beechwood Drive, reported at 11:44 a.m. Wednesday an elderly woman was sitting in his car and she doesn’t know who she is or where she is. Police found the woman was suffering from Alzheimer’s and were able to return her to her husband at their home.

– An AT&T employee in the Oakmont Plaza reported at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday a woman was soliciting them and other customers in the area for children’s hospital and other charities. Police checked but did not find the woman.

– A man reported at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday an A&M Lawncare truck was eastbound on state Route 14 without a tarp and was blowing leaves all along the road. Police stopped the vehicle and warned the driver for having an unsecured load.

– Adrienne Parish, South Middle Street, reported at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday her daughter’s bicycle was stolen.

– Police received multiple calls of a brush fire surrounding two trees on the east side of Redpath Drive near McMaster’s Farm.

– Brady White, 19, Salem, was traveling through a parking lot on state Route 14 when he struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Hazel Minich, 17, Salem, who was parked. No citations were issued.

LISBON

– Nila J. Pelley, 58, Darner Road, Lisbon, was southbound on North Market Street at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday and Sue A. Simballa, 63, Desellem Road, Lisbon, was westbound on Pine Street and pulled from a stop sign into Pelley’s vehicle. Simballa was cited for right of way.

– A Save-A-Lot employee reported at 1:39 p.m. Monday a vehicle had been parked in the parking lot for about three weeks and it appeared to have been wrecked. Police found the vehicle was registered to Ivy Miller on East Chestnut Street and attempted to make contact with her, but spoke with her brother. The man said he would let his sister know the vehicle needed to be moved.

– A woman reported at 1:31 p.m. Monday she saw a woman hit a young child on the head in the Valley View II parking lot. Police spoke to a woman who said that she was waiting on a ride back to Salem and was waiting on an employee from Valley View to take her and that during that time her 10-month-old son was getting irritated. Police checked the boy over and found no injuries and he was not upset.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

– Emily Taylor Cutshall, 20, Canton, was cited for right of way when turning left following a two-vehicle crash on state Route 14 at Middletown Road at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday in which she was westbound and failed to yield to a southbound vehicle driven by Bryan C. Hess, 42, Alliance. No injuries were reported.

– At 12:37 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to Egypt Road and U.S. 62 to assist Perry Township police.

– At 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, police in the 200 block of Rose Avenue were flagged by a woman who advised there was damage to water hoses at two local car washes.

– Police responded to the 600 block of Cherry Street at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday where the complainant said a neighbor called him a name so he became angry. Both were advised to stay away from each other.

– Police responded to the South Lundy Avenue and Franklin Avenue area at 1:48 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a loud man. He said he was yelling into his phone and advised to refrain from yelling early in the morning.

– At 2:52 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the area of Jennings Avenue for a possible hit-skip. Perry Township police reported the vehicle may be northbound on Jennings Avenue. An officer followed rim gouge marks in the 700 block of Jennings to an address and a closed garage in the 400 block of West 8th Street. A person exited the garage and was advised of the investigation and attempted to prevent the officer from conducting the investigation. Michael J. Lottman, 471 W. 8th St., was charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest, failure to control and leaving the scene. He was taken to the county jail.

– At 6:11 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 800 block of Aetna Avenue where an elderly woman was unsure of her location. Officers were able to locate her residence and release her to her husband.

– At 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report on station for a stolen vehicle from the 500 block of East Pershing Street. The vehicle was already recovered by the Columbiana County sheriff in an apparent arson. The complainant was given the information for her to report the insurance company. The report was turned over to the detective.

– At 7:24 p.m. Tuesday, Cierra N. Rice, 351 W. Pershing St. was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for domestic violence. She was taken to the county jail.

– At 7:13 p.m. Tuesday, Thomas G. Piatt, 428 Vine Ave., was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for domestic violence and taken to the county jail.

– Police responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive where the complainant said she left a door unlocked for a short period and returned and found items missing. The incident is under investigation.

– Police responded to the 100 block of North Union Avenue at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday where a cable line was down. It was moved from the roadway and the fire department was notified.

COLUMBIANA

– Someone reported at 11 a.m. Tuesday a man was knocking on doors along Fairfield Avenue and they didn’t know what he wanted. Police stopped the man and learned he was trying to see if anyone owned a Yorkie dog he found in the area. Police were able to take the dog home to the owner who had reported him missing earlier.

– A realtor requested at noon Tuesday police escort them to a foreclosed house on South Vine Street to make sure no one was inside.

– David Harmon, 34, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Metz Road at 2:39 p.m. Tuesday.

– A man reported at 5 p.m. Tuesday a woman and three girls 10 years old and younger were headed toward the park and appeared suspicious as one girl appeared to be only in her underwear with a long brown winter jacket. Police checked but were unable to find the group.

– Joseph M. Koffel, 36, East Chestnut Street, was charged with domestic violence following an incident at his home about 1 p.m. Tuesday. Koffel reportedly covered the face of Danise Moore with a pillow and then began choking her. He also stabbed the headboard with a knife while Moore lay in bed and threatened to kill her and her family if she contacted police.

SALEM TWP.

– Kaya Bowyer, West Clark Street, East Palestine, reported Monday that her car was broken into a few months ago while parked at a Crestview Road address but she did not report it. Stolen were a PS3 game system with controller, power cords and four games, Black Op 1 and 2, Call to Duty Ghost and Advanced Warfare. Recently, she discovered someone has been playing the gaming system under her user name/ID and even made contact with a relative of hers while playing. The matter is under investigation.

– Police on patrol in the 700 block of East School Avenue at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday observed people exiting the park and advised them of the park hours.

– At 8:22 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where the complainant advised a coyote tried to get at her cat at the rear door and had happened on more than one occasion. Police were unable to locate the coyote.

– At 6:08 p.m. Monday, police responded to the South Ellsworth Avenue and East Pershing Street area for a report of reckless operation and were unable to locate the vehicle described.

– At 5:06 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue where the complainant advised her ex-boyfriend wouldn’t return her car keys. Upon arrival an officer resolved the issue and the keys were returned to the owner.

– Police responded to Cunningham Road and Bentley Drive at 4:47 p.m. Monday for a report of reckless operation and were unable to locate the vehicle that was described.

– At 10:43 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where the complainant advised she has two health care companies come to her home to care for her. She reportedly discovered medication missing within the past week-and-a-half and believed it may be one of the health care aides.

– Police responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 11:34 a.m. Tuesday where the complainant advised that Salem schools advised him to call the police and file unruly charges against his 17-year-old son and have the police get him. He was advised to contact the Columbiana County Juvenile Court and talk with the prosecutor and also call the Portage County Probate Court about his mother claiming grandmother rights and taking her son to stay with her in North Benton. There were also custody issues and the complainant was advised to follow the steps the officer related to him.

Columbiana

– Lisbon police requested at 12:14 a.m. Monday an officer attempt to contact someone in the city that they dealt with earlier. Police found the person and told them to call Lisbon police.

– A woman reported at 12:11 p.m. Monday she saw some small bullets on the sidewalk along Union Street and she was afraid to pick them up. Police checked the area but did not find the bullets.

– A man reported at 1:21 p.m. Monday a truck hit a pole and kept going on West Park Avenue near Cross Street. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle. The electric department replaced the pole.

– Someone reported at 4 p.m. Monday a wrecked car for sale was parked illegally on the corner of Elm and Parkview streets. Police found the vehicle was not violating any parking laws.

– A woman reported at 4:13 p.m. Monday she was behind someone who was driving recklessly on state Route 7 from Boardman. Police checked but did not find the vehicle.

– The highway patrol requested at 4:26 p.m. Monday police get a crash driver’s daughter from her home on Court Street and bring her to the police department until a trooper could pick her up and take her to her mother. When police arrived at the home the girl’s father was already with her so she would not be by herself.

– Jill Beck of Columbiana reported at 4:38 p.m. Monday she heard glass breaking and then saw kids run out of a home and ride off on their bicycles along Pittsburgh Street. Police checked and found the home had been vacant for some time and already had several broken windows. Police spoke with two kids on bicycles who denied being there.

– Police stood by at a Union Street home at 7:54 p.m. Monday while a sheriff’s deputy served a warrant on a resident.

– A Dollar General clerk reported at 8:26 p.m. Monday a woman was acting suspicious in the store and that she had been sitting in her vehicle for two hours prior to coming into the store.

– A woman reported at 10:16 p.m. Monday two high school aged boys dropped of a bicycle in front of her garage on West Park Avenue. Police found the bicycle had a flat tire and the woman said it could stay there until the boys returned for it.

Lisbon

– A resident of Apple Grove apartments reported there was someone lurking outside at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday. Police patrolled the area but did not see anyone about.

– Joseph Curran, Strader Road, East Liverpool, reportedly backed into a parked vehicle belonging to Robert W. Hughes, Fairway Road, East Liverpool, in the Vista Center lot at 6:13 p.m. Monday.

– William K. Thompson, 48, North Jefferson Street, was cited for failure to control after his vehicle dropped into a ditch, striking a culvert and overturning while driving on East High Street at 5:43 p.m. Nov. 9. Thompson said he became distracted while retrieving something he had dropped.

LISBON

– Marki Dailey, South Lincoln Avenue, reported at 4 a.m. Saturday her debit card was stolen while she was at a residence on West Washington Street. Dailey said she and her boyfriend, Michael Gargano Jr., went to the residence so he could give a tattoo to Larry Cloud. Afterwards, they were hanging out with Cloud and his girlfriend before Dailey and Gargano returned to her house. Dailey woke up to find Gargano had returned to Cloud’s house and then she discovered Gargano and Cloud’s girlfriend allegedly used her debit card to withdraw $160 in cash.

– A caller reported a man was sitting in a running truck at the Days Inn parking lot at 4:35 a.m. Monday. The man told police he was an oil and gas worker and had a motel room but fell asleep before making it inside. The man then went to his room to catch a few more hours of sleep.

– Police responded to a domestic dispute on North Beaver Street at 10:30 p.m. Friday, where the officer spoke with Dawnita Wright, who said her boyfriend, Robert Crespo, was breaking things up in their apartment. Police told Wright they could not force Crespo to leave since he lived there. Crespo was in the process of sweeping up broken glass when an officer arrived. Wright decided to stay at her brother’s house for the night.

– Police were called to the apartment house complex at 845 N. Market St., at 1:31 p.m. Nov. 6 because an occupant was off his medication and causing problems for a neighbor. The person was advised to stay away from the neighbor, and then his caseworker arrived and took him with her.

– A caller reported there were two suspicious vehicles in the Days Inn parking lot at 8:18 a.m. Nov. 9. The drivers of the vehicle said they had met for coffee and were conversing, and the officer told them to go have coffee somewhere else.

– Mary Shaulis, Maple Street, reported being assaulted at 11:36 p.m. Sunday by Kevin Criss, who forced his way in when she answered the door. Once inside, Criss reportedly tried to take Shaulis’ cigarettes and phone but she grabbed a broom to protect herself. Criss then grabbed a can of fragrance aerosol and sprayed Shaulis in the face before leaving with her cigarettes. Criss is believed to be living at the truck stop in Columbiana, but Columbiana police did not find him there.

– Michelle Bryant, West Lincoln Way, reported at 3:39 a.m. Sunday she had been drinking at the Night Court when she went to a female friend’s home on South Beaver Street. Bryant later discovered her food stamp and Medicaid cards, along with her ID card, were missing, and she blames the friend. Police spoke with the friend, who denied taking the items from Bryant.

– Nick Channels, Summit Street, reported Friday that he has been told by friends that other relatives are making threats about him. Channels was told if he wanted to file charges to have those witnesses come to the police department to make a statement about what they know.

– Police were called to a disturbance at Greentree Place at 9:51 p.m. Thursday, where Chastity Wilson reported her sister, Chelsea, and Chelsea’s boyfriend had been arguing.

– Justin Martin, West Lincoln Way, reported at 7:36 p.m. Thursday his ex-girlfriend had shown up and was causing problems. He also said she broke a window before leaving.

– Alisa Pierson, West Washington Street, called at 8:38 p.m. Wednesday to have her daughter’s boyfriend removed from the front porch. Police arrived to find Jordan Gainer knocking on the door. Gainer said he was unaware he was unwelcome and left after being advised Ms. Pierson wanted him off the property.

SALEM

– A man on Fairview Avenue reported at 2:53 p.m. Monday that he saw a withdrawal made on his debit card on Nov. 12 for $410 for two moneygrams. He never authorized the withdrawals.

– Suspicious activity was reported at 11:22 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Officers located a person who said he was just waiting for a friend. Nothing appeared suspicious.

– An unknown disturbance was reported at 9:45 a.m. Monday in the area of Columbia Street, but police were unable to locate anything.

– The driver of a Brinks truck reported at 9:24 a.m. Monday that an unknown female in a maroon Ford Mustang backed into the truck and left without getting information in the 200 block of East Second Street.

– A woman in the 600 block of East 12th Street reported at 8:44 a.m. Monday that two men in camouflage were hunting behind her residence. They were reported to be carrying pistols. Officers checked the woods and didn’t find anyone.

– Police were contacted at 10:39 p.m. Sunday to check the well-being of a male in the 900 block of East Third Street after the caller said a family member was concerned about the person being depressed. Officers learned the person went to a nearby store and found him walking home on Hawley Avenue. Officers talked with him for several minutes and affirmed he was having some issues with depression but had no intention of harming himself. He continued on his way.

– Loud persons or a possible domestic dispute were reported at 9:24 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Ohio Avenue. Police located no disturbance.

– A man in the 800 block of West Wilson Street reported at 6:04 p.m. Sunday that his ex-wife has been sending unwanted texts, calling his girlfriend inappropriate names. An officer spoke to both parties about telecommunications harassment and both agreed not to have contact with each other unless it has to do with their child.

– Suspicious people/activites were reported at 6:02 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West Fourth Street, but were not found.

– Police were called at 5:14 p.m. Sunday to the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue for a suspicious person in a building. Officers responded and verified it was the building owner.

PERRY TWP.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol at 7:57 p.m. Sunday requested township police check for a possible intoxicated driver traveling east on U.S. Route 62 from Damascus in a white Mitsubishi Gallant. The vehicle was not found.

– A custody dispute and fight were reported at 6:04 p.m. Sunday at Circle K South on South Lincoln Avenue between people after children were dropped off from visitation, verbally between parents and physically between two males. Neither party involved in the fight wanted to pursue matters and parents involved in the custody exchange were told to seek legal counsel to resolve the problems during the exchange of children.

– A set of keys found in the area of Beechwood and Allen roads was turned over to police at 3:11 p.m. Sunday and placed in lost and found.

– A sick raccoon was reported at 9:12 a.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of Hearthside Drive. Police approached the raccoon which then ran up a tree and hid.

– Concerned parents called at 4:40 a.m. Sunday to advise they received a text message from their phone carrier saying their adult son’s phone had called 911. They received the message at 2:45 a.m. and after repeatedly trying to contact their son, to no avail, their phone company pinged the phone and it was reportedly in a barn in Perry Township. Police made contact with the residents and found the adult male, who said he called 911 at 12:30 a.m. to report an auto accident he had come upon. He said he was fine and was told to call his parents.

– A vehicle driven by Justin Steele, 23, of Franklin Avenue, struck a deer in the 1300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 5:31 p.m. Saturday.

– A resident in the 1800 block of West Pine Lake Road reported at 5:20 p.m. Saturday that a suspicious female juvenile came to his door and left after being refused entry. Police searched the area but didn’t find anyone. Goshen Police advised of a missing juvenile from a local group home who matched the description and the agency was advised.

– A resident in the 300 block of Plymouth Place reported at 12:50 p.m. Saturday that sometime overnight, someone flattened tires on two vehicles and smashed a window out with a brick.

– Police responded at 10:43 a.m. Saturday to the 1100 block of West Perry Street for a domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties involved and learned it was only a verbal altercation. No physical violence or threats of violence occurred. Both parties were told the consequences if police have to return.

– Police responded at 10:12 a.m. Saturday to the 300 block of Plymouth Place for a report of a mailbox vandalized. Police also found another mailbox vandalized and made contact with the owner. Another resident reported their mailbox knocked over.

– A newspaper delivery driver at 4:11 a.m. Saturday reported seeing three possible juveniles running across the road on Plymouth Place and into the woods that parallel Brittany Lane. No one was found.

– Police noted lights on inside a closed business on Depot Road. The door to the business was found open due to the wind and not being secured. Two weapons found inside the business were taken to the police department for safekeeping. Police had been unable to reach a keyholder.

– Police told a West Park Avenue resident to put out a tire fire at the home at 3:20 p.m. Sunday.

– Gracy P. Anderson, 59, Walnut Street, Washingtonville, was southbound on Windjammer Drive at 2:59 p.m. Saturday and approaching state Route 14 when he accidentally released the brake pedal unknowingly and rear-ended Donna R. Hodder, 62, Metz Road, New Waterford. Anderson was cited for assured clear distance.

– An officer responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 6:32 p.m. Saturday in reference to a dog left tied up alone in a backyard since the previous Sunday. The animal control officer arrived and took the dog.

– Officers responded to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:05 p.m. Saturday for a report of juveniles throwing items into the roadway, but were unable to find anything suspicious.

– Police responded to the Cleveland Street area at 5:09 a.m. Sunday where a woman reported two intoxicated men attempted to approach her vehicle. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the men.

– An officer responded to an 1100 block East State Street business at 8:18 a.m. Sunday where a woman reported a female customer had placed items in her purse and left without paying.

– Officers responded to the area of Franklin Avenue and Maple Street at 12:16 p.m. Sunday for a report of two men with a ladder on a telephone pole. The men were gone before officers arrived, but the officers discovered the copper ground wire had been tampered with.

Columbiana

– Police checked on a suspicious man in the area of the police department at 4:40 a.m. Saturday but found no problems.

– A woman reported at 8:21 p.m. Saturday a truck and car parked on both sides of Howard Avenue were making it nearly impossible for cars to pass through. One of the vehicle left by the time police arrived.

– Officers responded to an 800 block East Third Street home at 4:55 p.m Friday in reference to a burglary in progress. The incident was determined to be a civil matter, however officers found a possible burglary occurred earlier in the day.

– Tammy J. Souers, 49, last of 318 E. Third St., Salem, was charged with theft after allegedly stealing $14 worth of merchandise from a 200 block West State Street at 5:14 p.m. Friday.

– A woman reported at 5:56 p.m. Friday that someone had taken the dealer plate off a vehicle she was test driving it between Nov. 8 and 11, possible while in the parking lot of 2800 East State Street business. The plate number was found not to exist and the woman said she would check with the dealer for the correct number.

– Michael E. Milliken, 25, 480 W. Sixth St., Salem, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at Jennings Avenue and West Second Street at 10:09 p.m. Friday.

– Lisa R. Miller, 45, 415 W. Oregon Ave., Sebring, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and marked lanes following a traffic stop at East Pershing Street and South Broadway Avenue at 10:36 p.m. Friday.

– Police are investigating three incidents of criminal damage in which someone broke the front windows of three homes in the 600 block of Deming Street around midnight Saturday. All three residents said they were asleep at the time and did not notice anyone suspicious.

– An officer responded to a 400 block East State Street establishment at 12:31 a.m. Saturday where a man reported an unknown person had threatened him and his employees via telephone, saying that he would come to the business with a gun and several other individuals. Officers returned to the business at 2:25 a.m. after an employee reported the man had arrived and was threatening the staff. The man left prior to officers’ arrival and they were unable to find him in the area.

– A patrolling officer at 12:36 a.m. Saturday observed two vehicles in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue with damaged to the windshields which appeared to be caused by a baseball bat. A resident in the area said they heard a noise approximately 30 minutes prior but did not see anyone near the vehicles.

– An officer responded to a 2200 block East State Street business at 12:57 p.m. Saturday where the manager reported an employee had stolen an unknown amount of money over the past two months.

– Officers responded to the 400 block of Aetna Street at 1:52 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported someone within the past couple days had removed an a-arm for his wife’s vehicle from the back of his pick up truck and then took a jack handle. In addition he said he had just discovered someone had also tampered with his truck’s brake line, which broke, and loosened the lug nuts on one of the tires.

Columbiana

– Jock Johnson reported at 11 a.m. Friday the building at the rear of the 7&14 truck stop was broken into although nothing was taken.

– A man reported at 3 p.m. Friday he received several calls about a couple of gas cans in the middle of the road and gas was leaking from them. The street department removed the cans and put down material to soak up the leaked gas.

– Richard Schwartz, East Park Avenue, reported at 3:37 p.m. Friday a vehicle went through his yard and kept going. Police found the property was not damaged.

– Kay Scyoc, East Railroad Street, reported at 3:57 p.m. Friday she is having a dispute with her step-son who lives next door and in the process of being evicted.

– A North Vine Street boy reported at 10:55 p.m. Friday he was home alone with his cousin, and they could hear footsteps upstairs. Police checked but found no on inside and no indication anyone had been upstairs.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– Police responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 7:32 a.m Friday for a fight in the parking lot. Police observed three people yelling at each other. One person advised there was a verbal argument with another man who hit him in the mouth with a tire iron. Photos were obtained. One man said it started last week at the same place when the other man slammed him against his truck and he grabbed a tire iron to protect himself and swung at the man hitting him in the mouth. All parties said they would write statements and it will be forwarded to the county prosecutors office. It remains under investigation.

– Police responded to the 700 block of East 5th Street at 12:28 a.m. Friday where officer was advised the person was heard talking about possibly hurting himself. He was intoxicated and OK.

– At 1:02 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 700 block of West State Street for a report of a suspicious person sitting in a car for two hours. He said he was supposed to meet someone there and he was advised to go to a public parking area.

– Police responded to the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue at 3:37 a.m. Friday for a woman to be removed. She said lived there for three months but the complainant said it was about one month. They agreed she would stay the night and leave in the morning.

– Melanie R. Sobeck, 597 Walnut Street was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant at 11:21 p.m. Thursday for failure to appear. She was released to a deputy.

– At 9:16 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 200 block of East 4th Street where a man was unconscious on the couch. An ambulance took him to the hospital.

– At 5:38 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1100 block of East State Street where a recovered item was located. Police will attempted to find contact the owner and it was placed in the lost and found.

– At 4:11 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the Olive and Cherry Street area for two complaints of reckless operation near a bus stop. Police spoke to the driver and advised them of the complaint and the consequences.

LISBON

– Deborah Greiner reported she is living in town with her daughter, and on Wednesday night Edith Devine called her daughter’s cellphone in violation of a no-contact order issued by county municipal court. The officer told Greiner to have her daughter bring her cellphone to the police station, and she said Devine was claiming Greiner and her daughter were calling her, which Greiner denied.

– Police were called to Smith Oil at 11:25 a.m. Thursday after a woman had tripped and fallen forward on the sidewalk. She was found face down, complaining of pain in her back and arm. The officer waited until an ambulance arrived to transport her to a local hospital.

– Deborah M. Short, 60, West Chestnut Street, reportedly failed to yield the right of way and struck a vehicle operated by Lisa M. Peruchetti, 52, West Washington Street, at the intersection of Chesnut Street and Thomas Road at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday.

– Police responded to the intersection of South Ellsworth Avenue and East State Street at 1:08 p.m. Wednesday where a northbound semi driven by Michael L. Jenson, 41, Columbus, Neb., had struck a light pole during an attempted east turn. No injuries were reported and no citations issued.

– Police responded to a report of an unresponsive person in the 800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:49 p.m. Wednesday and found a co-worker performing CPR. The person was transported by ambulance to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

– Officers responded to a domestic dispute at an East Fifth Street home at 2:01 p.m. Wednesday and found a woman with two small children attempting to leave. She was highly emotional and threatened to harm herself, so she was transported by ambulance to the Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation. The children were turned over to a grandparent. The man involved refused to provide a written statement or pursue charges against the woman. An officer noted a broken dish that she had alleged smashed on the floor near her young son.

– Police responded to an East State Street business at 4:52 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a customer arguing with employees. The customer said that she had gotten in the argument after locking her parents in a vehicle while she shopped for them, noting it was for their safety since her father has dementia and her mother does not walk well. An officer spoke with the parents who said nothing was wrong.

– An officer responded to a Brooklyn Avenue home at 7:58 p.m. Wednesday for an unresponsive person found by a family member. The person was found to be deceased. There was nothing suspicious found.

– Police responded to a domestic dispute at an East Third Street home at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday and found several people had been involved in a verbal argument regarding an incident earlier in the evening. All agreed to go their separate ways.

– Officers responded to an East Third Street apartment complex at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday where a resident reported noise on the second floor. Officers were unable to find the noise and returned to the patrol car when the resident approached and again complained of a thumping noise at a different second floor apartment. The officers were still unable to locate the noise, but advised the other resident of the complaint.

– Police responded to a 1200 block Franklin Avenue home at 1:58 a.m. Thursday where the resident reported hearing a noise at an attached storage area and noticing someone had been in his greenhouse. He said he then saw someone running through his backyard toward Cedar Ridge Drive. The officer was unable to find anyone and the resident said nothing appeared to be missing.

– An officer responded to a domestic dispute in the 500 block of Continental Drive at 9:03 a.m. Thursday and found a verbal argument regarding personal matters.

COLUMBIANA

– A man reported at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday he believed Bill Kimpel was selling jewelry from his car in their parking lot or was possibly using their wireless Internet. Police checked and found no jewelry or a computer in his vehicle and he just appeared to be sleeping there. He was told to move on.

– Dwayne Carlisle, West Salem Street, reported at 5:42 a.m. Wednesday his car was broken into overnight.

– A man reported at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday a woman was walking in front of cars on South Avenue in the area of the Dutch Haus.

LISBON

– David Wurtz of Dalton reported leaving his wallet at the BP station on Tuesday and calling the manager to put it aside until he could drive back to get it the next day. When Wurtz retrieved the wallet the next day he discovered all of the cash was gone. The manager later reported a clerk – a 21-year-old Lisbon woman – admitted stealing the money but has agreed repay Wurtz by Nov. 26 or charges will be pursued.

– Police were called to the BP station at 10:54 a.m. Wednesday after a man reportedly fell and hit his head while walking across state Route 154. The officer remained until an ambulance arrived to transport the man to a local hospital.

– Daniel Weber was driving on North Market Street at the intersection of Saltwell Road at 7:49 p.m. Tuesday when he misjudged his turn and pulled into a grassy area near the sidewalk and continued driving in an attempt to get out and become stuck in the mud. His vehicle was towed out by Baker’s Towing.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

– A Calla Road resident reported at 11 a.m. Monday that she and her husband had had their 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis from their home to a repair shop in Damascus in June and requested the business owner to have it repaired at the employees’ convenience. She said that they contacted the business owner after observing it moved from in front of the business and found that the owner did not move it, noting that he was under the assumption the couple had retrieved in September because it had not been fixed yet. The owner said that it had to have towed away because it was not operable at the time.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– A suspicious person was reported at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of West Perry Street where a woman said an unknown person was knocking on her door. Officers were unable to find anyone in the area.

– A dispute over residency was reported at 10:48 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Liberty Street. The people were advised of the eviction procedure and officers spoke with both parties in an attempt to end the hostilities for the evening.

– A parking complaint was reported at 7:01 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of West 14th Street. The driver was located and the vehicle was moved without incident.

– A hit/skip was reported at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday in the Home Depot parking lot in the 2900 block of East State Street where a vehicle owned by Susan Jackson of Sebring was struck by another vehicle pulling into a parking space. The other vehicle left the scene. Officers were unable to locate the other vehicle.

– A vehicle operated by Kimberlin Buffington, 42, of Alliance, sustained damage to the right front fender and hood after a 10-point buck jumped over the guard rail and into the vehicle’s path, getting struck at 11:48 a.m. Wednesday on the state Route 45 bypass just west of Carriage Hill Drive.

– Police were called at 10:22 a.m. Wednesday regarding several alarms going off at the 200 block of Depot Road. A caller at the site said he set off the car alarm on a vehicle and did not have the keys to the vehicle.

– A suspicious person was reported in the 200 block of Idaho at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday by a neighbor who said a male was walking around an unoccupied house. Police learned the male was replacing door locks at the residence per the request of the family.

– Police and the Columbiana County Dog Warden’s office were called at 8:19 a.m. Tuesday to the 1300 block of West State Street to investigate a dog attack. The report said a female was knocked to the ground and suffered a head injury which required medical attention. The dog owner was contacted and was cooperating with both police and the dog warden.

– Police responded to the 1300 block of Highland Avenue East at 1:56 p.m. Monday for a residential alarm going off. An officer spoke with two representatives from Ohio Edison who were on the road in front of the residence. They said they shut the power off to the residence and after turning the power back on, reset the alarm which set it off.

– The owner of a consignment shop on East Pidgeon Road reported at 8:31 a.m. Monday that she found a vehicle parked at her business with no one around. Police checked the registration and made contact with the owner, who said the vehicle broke down. The owner said the vehicle would be removed that day.

LISBON

– A female resident of Apple Grove apartments reported there was a man outside her window at 12:02 a.m. Oct. 29. Police searched the area but did not see anyone about.

– Police were called to Apple Grove apartments at 7:23 p.m. Nov. 5, where a resident said her head would not slow down and it was taking her to a dark place that she could not escape. The officers remained until an ambulance arrived to transport her to a local hospital.

– A caller reported there was a reckless driver on North Market Street at 3:16 p.m. Friday. Although the driver was not driving recklessly, the officer warned him if he was doing so he needed to stop.

– Police performed a welfare check on Maple Street at 7:37 p.m. Friday after the family was unable to contact the resident. The woman who lived there was fine and said she must have left the phone off the hook.

– A caller reported there was a male trying to pull away the plastic on the fence around the football stadium in an attempt to watch the football game at 8:12 p.m. Saturday. The female caller yelled at the man, who had a step stool with him, and he took off running. Police searched the area but were unable to locate him.

– Jay A. Nolte, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, was backing up at the Valley View convenience store when he struck a vehicle driven by Shawn L. Laughlin, of Grandview Street, at 7:49 p.m. Sunday.

– An official at the county mental health counseling center reported at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday that Vickie Waite was walking around Apple Grove apartments threatening to kill someone with a pair of scissors. Police arrived and arrested the 55-year-old Waite on menacing charges.

– Thomas Page, South Green Street, reported Oct. 18 he believed he was scammed out of $850 after he listed his car for sale and a person posing as a buyer offered to buy it if Page would ship the vehicle to California. The person told Page he would pay through Paypal for the purchase and shipping.

COLUMBIANA

– Chet Paxson, East Park Avenue, reported at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday his vehicle’s windshield was smashed sometime during the night.

– Police assisted the highway patrol with finding a vehicle that was reckless on state Route 14 at 5:18 p.m. Tuesday.

– Richard M. McClain Jr., 36, Youngstown, was westbound in the right turn lane on state Route 14 at 9:29 p.m. Tuesday and Michael J. Cunningham, 53, Santaquin, Utah, was also westbound and improperly attempted to enter the right lane and struck McClain’s vehicle. Cunningham was cited for marked lanes.

SALEM

– A suspicious person was reported at 3:03 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Granite Avenue and Arch Street. The man had been seen sitting and then got up and started walking. Police found no one.

– Police responded at 1:24 p.m. Tuesday to the 100 block of West 14th Street for a vehicle parked in an area marked for no parking on both sides. A warning tag was left on the vehicle.

– A domestic dispute was reported at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of East Fifth Street where contact was made with the male and female tenants. The male said they had an argument and everything was fine. The female was uncooperative and did not want to speak with officers. There was no sign of physical violence.

– A keychain with multiple keys found near Josie’s Pizza on South Lundy Avenue three days ago was brought to the police station at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday and placed in lost and found.

– Amanda Hiner, 28, of 1118 E. Third St., was taken into custody at 10:54 a.m. Tuesday at her residence on a warrant out of Portage County for failure to appear. Police had gone to the property and asked a male if she was there and he said she was. She was arrested without incident, taken to the station and processed to be turned over to a Portage County deputy.

– A reckless operator was reported in the 2800 block of East State Street at 9:59 a.m. Tuesday. Police found the vehicle in question and noted an elderly-looking female appeared to be operating the vehicle just fine now.

– Andrew Richardson, 25, of Prospect St., was cited for failure to yield after his eastbound vehicle drove into the intersection of West Pershing Street and South Howard Avenue and struck a northbound vehicle he didn’t see start into the intersection at 8:41 a.m. Tuesday. The other vehicle was driven by a 16-year-old from Hanoverton.

– An officer at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday found where someone drove over a stop sign in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Allen Road and fled. The sign department was contacted to replace the sign.

– A well-being check was requested at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue. A female said she was fine other than being locked out of her residence. Officers stood by until a family member arrived with a key.

– A domestic was reported at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Aetna Street. A woman said she was involved in a verbal dispute with her juvenile daughter that escalated into a minor altercation. The daughter was upset that her boyfriend was not allowed over. The woman was told her options and an officer spoke with the daughter.

– Police were called at 10:19 p.m. Monday for a fire alarm in the 1100 block of Benton Road, but then learned it was a water alarm.

– Adam Tyson, 32, whose last known address was the 600 block of East Second Street, was taken into custody at 8:55 p.m. Monday on North Madison Avenue on a warrant for failure to appear on a driving under suspension charge. Police had received an anonymous tip about a wanted person being on North Madison Avenue. He was taken to the station and turned over to a Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

– A reckless operator was reported in the 100 block of Brooklyn at 8:53 p.m. Monday, but was not found.

– Police were asked at 6:59 p.m. Monday to check the welfare of a city resident in the 1000 block of West Ninth Street, but were unable to make contact. A neighbor believed the person had moved out.

– An officer was flagged down at 6:28 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of Union Avenue for juveniles riding bikes in the road without any lights or reflectors. They were not found.

– An officer at 6:21 p.m. Monday noticed an open gate on the side of a business in the 2300 block of East State Street. The business appeared to be closed, but officers checked and saw what appeared to be several employee vehicles in the lot and saw several employees still working inside.

– A caller at 6:18 p.m. Monday reported juveniles throwing objects at cars in the 1100 block of East Third Street. The juveniles were not found.

– A well-being check was requested at 5:38 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of South Union Avenue. The man said he was fine.

– Police responded at 5:30 p.m. Monday to an open burning call in the 900 block of East Third Street, finding a person burning paper in a fire pit. They were told about the city ordinance.

– An officer at 4:54 p.m. Monday saw a large amount of white smoke coming from behind a residence in the 600 block of East Eighth Street. Found was a small cookout-type fire, but the resident had some leaves mixed in with the wood. The resident was told about the city ordinance prohibiting the burning of leaves.

– A resident of Pearce Circle reported at 4:50 p.m. Monday that he was a victim of fraud/identity theft.

– A caller at 4:33 p.m. Monday reported that someone had fallen in the 500 block of Prospect Street. A family member was on the scene, with no injury reported.

COLUMBIANA

– A man reported at 8 a.m. Monday dogs at a South Elm Street home had been barking since 7 a.m. Police told the owner, Mark Beck, of the complaint.

– Margarita Davis reported at 9:39 a.m. Monday tenants in the process of being evicted from a Fitzpatrick home had not had gas for heat at the home since August and there were small kids living there. Police checked and found they did have an electric heater and food and water for their kids.

– Lloyd Mills, 71, Lisbon, was charged with theft at 11:54 a.m. Monday for allegedly shoplifting milk from the Sparkle Market.

– At 1:14 p.m. Monday police received several calls about a vehicle parked across the road on West Park Avenue and traffic was backed up. The owner was contacted and discovered the unoccupied vehicle had accidentally rolled out of the driveway. The owner removed the vehicle.

– A man reported at 4 p.m. Monday a vehicle hit a sign on East Friend Street near Chestnut Alley and continued on.

– Jennifer Millerleile, 25, Poland, was stopped northbound on South Avenue at 4:21 p.m. Monday on South Avenue between Seventh Street and Salem Unity Road when she was rear-ended by Katherine Kissel, 47, Columbiana, who was also northbound. No citations were issued.

– David Holloway, Crestview Road, reported at 4:47 p.m. Monday he found an item belonging to him at Cashland. Police told him to file a report with the county sheriff’s office.

– A Beiling Veterinary employee reported at 5:17 p.m. Monday a customer had just left the office and appeared to be intoxicated or under the influence of something. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– A Firestone Avenue man reported at 6:22 p.m. Monday a neighbor’s dog was barking constantly and they are always tied out in the back yard. Police told the owner of the complaint.

– David M. Weikart, 44, Columbiana, was cited for public intoxication at 8:31 p.m. Monday on East State Route 14. At 9:44 p.m. he was arrested for public intoxication and cited for disorderly conduct.

LISBON

– An employee from the BP station reported at 2:56 a.m. Monday seeing a man in the woods behind the gas station and the person was staring at them. Police arrived and searched the woods but only saw some deer,

– A clerk at the Days Inn reported a man showed up at the door asking to be let in at 1:13 a.m. Monday, saying he was supposed to meet someone there but would not provide a name. The man was gone by the time an officer arrived.

– Joe Koffel, East Chestnut Street, reported at 11:55 a.m. Saturday his girlfriend’s daughter threw an object that struck him in the face while he was arguing with his girlfriend that started when they left a bottle of Jim Beam in a shopping cart at the Sparkle supermarket. The girl said when Koffel got in her mother’s face she tried to separate them, which is when he shoved her, so she responded by throwing a snack container at him. Koffel denied getting in anyone’s face. The girlfriend and her daughter left for the day to defuse the situation.

– Harry McKee, North Beaver Street, reported Saturday he believes items were stolen from his garage. There was no sign of forced entry, and McKee said he first noticed a month ago items were missing. When asked why he waited so long to file a report, McKee said he was waiting to see if other items turned up missing and then forgot to contact police. He was told to bring a list of the missing items to the police department.

– Makenzie Wilkes, 18, McCracken Road, Salem, reported that when she left the county vocational school on Thursday she was followed by an 18-year-old boy she knows and then he threw soda pop on her vehicle. Police spoke with the boy, identified as Logan Wilson, and warned him the next time he would be charged with criminal damaging.

– Edith L. Devine, 56, Oak Street, Salem, reported being assaulted at the Night Court on Oct. 28 by her ex-boyfriend’s mother. She was punched in the back and knocked to the floor. Devine recalls several more punches and kicks to her legs and face. Devine left the bar and returned home, where she sought treatment at the Salem Regional Medical Center. Police later spoke with Deborah Greiner, who said Devine started the fight and she only retaliated to get Devine to quit pulling her hair.

SALEM

– Courtney Cusick, 21, of East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after a four-vehicle chain reaction accident at 11:37 a.m. Monday on South Lincoln Avenue near Franklin. Cusick’s northbound vehicle struck the back of another northbound vehicle driven by Mark Kovalcik, 24, of state Route 39, Wellsville, which then struck a northbound vehicle driven by Auldin Shuman, 82, of Jefferson Avenue, Salem, in turn striking a northbound vehicle driven by William Geiling, 46, of state Route 558, Leetonia, who had been stopped waiting for the light to turn green. As he began to go when the light turned green, that’s when the collision occurred. A passenger in one of the vehicles reported being sore from the shoulder strap but refused medical attention. Cusick’s vehicle sustained heavy damage to the front end and was towed from the scene.

– A resident in the 200 block of West Fifth Street reported a possible breaking and entering attempt at 8:19 a.m. Monday, noting that someone attempted to open her window which caused items inside her residence to fall and break.

– A resident on Liberty Street in the 800 block reported at 7:14 a.m. Monday that juveniles at the bus stop were yelling profanities at passing cars. Officers made contact with the juveniles and told them to stop and to also stay out of the road.

– Gretchen Loudin, 84, of Deerfield, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign after a two-vehicle crash in the intersection of West Pershing Street and South Howard Avenue at 8:47 p.m. Sunday. Loudin was southbound on Howard, stopped at the stop sign and turned to proceed west, striking a vehicle driven by Erika Knopp, 36, of U.S. Route 62, Salem, who was already in the intersection traveling west on Pershing after already stopping at the stop sign and proceeding. Police found Loudin at fault. No injuries were reported.

– Officers spoke with two juveniles at the police station at 5:26 p.m. Sunday after the juveniles reported they had been dropped off at the skate center earlier in the day but had no way to get home due to a family member’s car breaking down. A cab company was contacted to obtain a price to get the juveniles home and the juveniles said they had enough money to pay the fare. The cab responded to take them home.

– An open burning complaint was reported at 5:16 p.m. Sunday on Woodland Avenue, with both fire and police responding. The woman said she was new to the area and did not know the laws regarding open burning. The fire department extinguished the fire and told her what she could and could not burn.

– Police were called back at 4:49 p.m. Sunday to the 500 block of Columbia Street for an eviction issue after already being there earlier at 4:22 p.m. The landlord responded to the apartment to tell the tenant he had to leave and officers returned. After some disagreement, the landlord finally accepted that he had to follow proper eviction procedures. Family members were told to stay away from each other if they couldn’t get along and the landlord was told to begin the eviction process. The tenant had called police earlier to say he was being kicked out without properly being evicted. He said the situation resulted when he had an argument with his stepfather who told him to get out.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street for a report at 4:38 p.m. Sunday of two males shooting a BB gun in the back yard. Officers spoke to a woman who said it was her two juvenile sons. She was told it’s illegal to discharge a weapon within the city limits and she said it won’t happen again.

– Police spoke with two separate distraught people, one on Seventh Street at 12:30 p.m. Sunday and one on Walnut Street at 3:14 p.m. In both cases, police filled out emergency admissions and the people were transported by ambulance to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

– An alarm was reported at 11:46 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of East State Street, with the building found secure.

– A woman from a business at 2487 E. State St. reported at 11:08 a.m. Sunday that she arrived at work and found the front door unlocked. Upon checking the store, $804 was missing from the business.

– Thomas Piatt, 21, of 438 Vine Ave., was cited for driving under suspension and Tesa Beery, 37, of the same address, was cited for wrongful entrustment after an incident Sunday morning. An officer on patrol at 10:31 a.m. on Rose Avenue saw an unlicensed motorist and tried to initiate a traffic stop, pursuing the vehicle after seeing it travel on East Third Street to Vine Avenue and the residence of the owner. The vehicle was found at the owner’s residence blocking the alley with the keys in the ignition. The officer made contact with the owner, Beery, and the unlicensed person who had allegedly attempted to change his appearance, identified as Piatt. He admitted to driving the car. The matter is under investigation for additional charges.

– A woman from the 1100 block of West State Street reported at 4:26 p.m. Sunday that she invited a friend into her apartment and when she awoke, she found her wallet missing. The wallet contained cash, a debit card and an identification card.

– George Tyson, of the 1000 block of Liberty Street, reported at 10:55 a.m. Saturday that sometime overnight someone broke the windshield wipers off of his vehicle.

– Township police were requested Friday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol to check the area of Georgetown Road and state Route 45 for a vehicle with only three wheels operating in an erratic manner. Vehicle had already left the area in an unknown direction. There were no marks on the pavement to assist in locating the vehicle.

– Sean Bailey of Beloit reported at 5:53 a.m. Friday that while his vehicle was parked in a parking space in the 1100 block of Prospect Street overnight, an unknown person left a note on his windshield and scratched the driver’s side of the vehicle with an unknown object. He said he was told by management that there are no designated parking spaces in the lot.

– Police responded to the 200 block of Chris Avenue. at 10:40 p.m., Oct. 1 for a disturbance.

– At 7:12 p.m. Oct. 2, police made a driving under suspension stop on East Main Street near Washington Street.

– At 10:18 a.m. Oct. 3, police assisted Leetonia police.

– On Oct. 5 at 3:45 p.m. police made a traffic stop on West Main Street near School Street and found the driver did not reinstate their license.

– Police received a complaint at 7:55 p.m. Oct. 6 regarding a door-to-door sales person in the 100 block of Maple Street.

– At 2:47 p.m. Oct. 7, police responded to a report of a theft in the 100 block of School Street.

– At 7:20 p.m. Oct. 7, police received a complaint of a dog at large in the 500 block of Maple Street.

– At 9:58 p.m. Oct. 7, police made a traffic stop on West Main Street near Davidson Avenue and the driver was driving under suspension.

– At 6:52 p.m. Oct. 12, police responded to an open burning complaint in the 400 block of Main Street.

– At 7:02 p.m.Oct. 19, police responded to the 300 block of East Main Street for a telephone harassment complaint.

– At 8:59 p.m. Oct. 19, when a traffic stop was made on West Main Street near Davidson Avenue and the driver had failed to reinstate their license.

– A man reported at 9:43 a.m. Friday Frank Faye III was missing as family had not been able to contact him since Nov. 7. Police made contact with Faye on Pittsburgh Street and found there were no problems.

– Kelley Diamond reported at 2 p.m. Friday she was being harassed by William Keagy.

– A woman reported at 8:18 p.m. Friday a woman was knocking on doors in the area of Union Street screaming and trying to get inside. Police found Shanda Randolph was to pick her son up at Matt Gillespies’ home. She was told to call the police department on Monday.

– A McDonald’s employee reported at 7 p.m. Saturday a woman in the store was stumbling around and then got into a Chevy vehicle and drove to the Duke and Duchess gas station. Police found the vehicle and cited the driver, Melissa Manley of Boardman, with drug possession.

– Anita Smith reported at 12:29 a.m. Saturday she was assaulted outside her Herbster Avenue home by a man she didn’t know. Police checked but did not find the man.

– Matthew Gillespie reported at 1:48 p.m. Sunday he was receiving harassing text messages from an ex-girlfriend.

– William Superak, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 6:28 p.m. Sunday someone entered his unlocked Jeep Cherokee while it was parked in his driveway and threw things around but apparently did not take anything.

– A woman reported at 6:50 p.m. Sunday a Jeep type vehicle was parked in the Dynamic Tire parking lot with the lights off and requested police stand by while employees left the building to get into their cars. Police found the driver of the vehicle was parked there waiting on another car to arrive and leave their car so he could transport them home.

– A West Park Avenue woman reported at 7:22 p.m. Sunday she was locked out of her home and needed to get inside to get her insulin. Police were able to get inside.

– Paul Szymanski, 49, Youngstown, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated during an OVI checkpoint in Austintown worked by a Goshen officer at 11:54 p.m. Friday.

– A suspicious person was reported at 5:53 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of East 11th Street, but police were unable to locate anyone.

– Police responded at 3:59 a.m. Sunday to a business security alarm in the 1400 block of Allen Road. Officers checked the building and a key holder responded.

– Stacy McCullough, of the 600 block of Jennings Avenue, reported a burglary at 3:24 a.m. Sunday. She told police she heard someone in her apartment and looked up from bed to see the shadow of an unknown intruder. Her purse was taken along with other valuable items. The burglary is under investigation.

– Daniel Eaton, 50, of 231 W. 10th St., was charged with domestic violence, processed and taken to the Columbiana County jail after police were called to his residence for a domestic in progress at 10:57 p.m. Saturday. Police located the victim at a neighbor’s residence. She reported being in a verbal dispute with her husband which turned physical. Officers saw redness around her neck and an injury to her wrist. The husband was found in an upstairs bedroom of the house and taken into custody. Police had been to the same residence earlier at 8:58 p.m. for a domestic after the woman said they got into an argument over a television he pawned. Nothing physical occurred and both were told to separate for the night. She was told that the television was communal property and nothing could be done.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported at 10:01 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East School Street. The vehicle in question was located parked in an unnamed alley. Upon checking the registration, officers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Portage County. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

– Police were called at 9:34 p.m. Saturday to Walmart on East State Street for suspicious persons. Two female juveniles were walking around in the parking lot asking to use a cell phone to get a ride to Youngstown. Officers were told the two juveniles were runaways from a local group home. Officers located them and took them to the station to await someone from the group home. A member of the home responded and the juveniles were released into her care.

– An unknown problem was reported at 7:46 p.m. Saturday on East Pershing Street where dispatch reported OnStar called about someone pressing the emergency button on a vehicle in that area. Officers found the vehicle in question unoccupied in a parking lot. The owner was located inside a nearby business and said everything was fine. He said he must have accidentally pushed the wrong button.

– A man from Aetna Street came to the police station at 4:27 p.m. Saturday to report an ongoing problem with a known female harassing him via social media. He had changed his phone number due to harassing calls/texts and the person began sending messages via a social media web page. He has since blocked the ex-girlfriend but she is now sending messages through a family member’s account. He’s going to block all mutual contacts to try to prevent further harassment. He said the ex-girlfriend is allegedly making claims that he tried to hire someone to assault her. He said he stopped responding to all forms of alleged communication from the suspect and wants no further contact. An officer will attempt to contact her to advise of possible criminal charges that may result if the harassment does not stop.

– An alarm was reported at 1:57 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of North Madison Avenue where the exterior was found secure.

– James McVay, 32, of 11489 Trinity Church Road, was taken into custody on an active warrant out of Columbiana County for larceny after a traffic stop on a vehicle with a defective exhaust at 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of South Union Avenue. McVay was identified as one of the passengers and the warrant was discovered. The driver was given a verbal warning for the exhaust and was told they were free to leave. The officer received verbal consent to search the vehicle and while searching found a syringe and crack pipe with a hard white substance which will be tested to confirm an illegal substance. The discovery is under investigation with charges pending.

– An officer on patrol at 8:51 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Fifth Street noticed a condemned residence with the front door forced open. Other officers arrived on scene and the residence was checked with no one found inside. Housing & zoning was notified.

– A woman in the 200 block of Woodland Avenue reported at 8:22 a.m. Saturday that sometime during the night on Friday, someone took two outdoor tables and three chairs from her front porch.

COLUMBIANA REPORTS

– A caller reported a reckless driver Friday on state Route 7, saying it nearly rear-ended another vehicle. Officers were unable to locate it.

– Carol Kulka, Court Street, reported her daughter’s iPhone misplaced or stolen at the basketball game Friday.

– Reno Davis, no address listed, reported a dispute while serving an eviction notice on a tenant on Fitzpatrick. He wanted a report filed.

– Kelley Diamond, no address listed, reported being harassed by a man she knows and said she wants it stopped.

– Ean Charlton, no address listed, reported the washer door at the Laundromat would not open so he could get his clothes. Messages were left with the owner.

– An employee at the American Legion reported Friday morning recovering some property left behind which contained suspected marijuana. The contents will be destroyed.

– The family of a Pittsburgh Street man reported Friday morning they had been unable to contact him since Tuesday night. He was later found and was fine, police reported.

– A McDonald’s employee reported Friday evening a woman in her 30s was stumbling all over and go into a gold-colored car, going to the gas station.

– Officers responded Friday night to a report of a barking dog on Fairfield Avenue. They were unable to locate the owner but found a relative across the street who would take care of the dog.

– Several students advised officers Friday night of damage to the fence at the football field.

– A Burger King employee reported a vehicle came through the drive-through with a driver who was possibly intoxicated. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

SALEM

– A stop sign was reported down at 6:03 a.m. Saturday at Granite Avenue and West Perry Street. An officer found the sign was run over. The sign department was notified to replace the sign.

– An officer on patrol at 1:22 a.m. Saturday saw a vehicle in the 400 block of Woodland Avenue with the dome light on and no occupants inside. The vehicle appeared to be secure. Contact with the owner was attempted, but unsuccessful.

– Police at 11:07 p.m. Friday checked on a residential alarm in the 900 block of Highland Avenue. The exterior was found secure.

– A well-being check was requested at 10:49 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Franklin. Officers knocked several times but were unable to make contact.

– Officers on patrol at 10:34 p.m. Friday located a junk/abandoned vehicle in the Butech lot on South Broadway Avenue. The vehicle was disabled and leaking fluids and wasn’t able to be safely parked. The vehicle was removed from the premises for safety reasons by Sinsley’s Towing. Officers located the vehicle owner and found him intoxicated. He was advised of possible charges if it’s found his vehicle struck anything.

– A well-being check was requested at 8:13 p.m. Friday for a residence in the 200 block of East Fifth Street. Officers recently had been to the residence on two occasions. Another agency had already been contacted regarding the residence and children. The female was not home during the well-being check.

– Police at 7:27 p.m. Friday were investigating a sexual abuse complaint. A detective was contacted and Children Services was made aware. The incident is under investigation.

-A woman in the 600 block of East Sixth Street reported at 4:57 p.m. Friday that her ex-boyfriend keeps calling and showing up at her residence uninvited.

– Police were called at 4:46 p.m. Friday for an accident without injuries at East School Street and East Sixth Street. The caller hung up and dispatch had very little information. Officers checked the area several times, but did not find an accident.

– Francine Burlingame, of the 500 block of Franklin, reported at 3:56 p.m. Friday that someone stole her iPad. She wasn’t sure if it was taken from her residence or whether she left it somewhere while shopping. Area pawn shops will be checked.

– A man from Vine Avenue reported at 2:58 p.m. Friday that he was receiving unwanted text messages and phone calls. He was told to block the phone number and stop all contact.

– A woman in the 900 block of West Wilson Street reported at 2:51 p.m. Friday that earlier in the morning a dog down the street west of their residence bit her 7-year-old daughter in the left ankle and broke the skin. The hospital took pictures prior to bandaging the wound. A relative also took pictures and talked with the dog owner. An officer spoke with the owner who said she was sleeping and the babysitter had just brought back the children when she got up and the dog went out the back door, running around to the front where a large group of children was playing in the yard, biting the girl on the ankle. The dog had its shots in February but was not licensed yet in Columbiana County. The owner was told to watch the dog in the next 10 days and that the officer would return to follow up on the licensing and other dog bite information.

– A parking complaint was reported at 11:55 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue where a female said she could not gain access to the driver’s side of her vehicle. The female’s vehicle was moved from the legal parking spot by another driver.

SALEM

– Police responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Street at 12:31 p.m. Thursday where a resident reported someone overnight had scratched the driver’s side of her vehicle.

– Police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 2:22 p.m. Thursday where Brandon Shayne Welling reported someone overnight had stolen several tools out of the bed of his truck. Officers returned to the area at 7:46 p.m. the same day when Welling reported seeing two men walking around the area with flashlights, but one of the men was found to be a nearby resident who had permission from the landlord to show rental properties.

– An officer responded to the Fairview Avenue Extension for a report of cows in the roadway at 2:57 p.m. Thursday and found the animals in a field on Merle Road moving toward the woods. The officer advised Perry Township police.

– Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 800 block of Jennings Avenue at 6:09 p.m. Thursday and found a verbal altercation regarding property had occurred.

– An officer responded to a domestic dispute in the 900 block of East Third Street at 7:26 p.m. Thursday and found a resident who said he had been letting a male friend stay at the home, but had a verbal altercation with him regarding his activities in the home. He said the other man had already left.

– Police responded to an East Seventh Street home at 8:25 p.m. Thursday where the resident reported a threat made against his juvenile step-daughter.

– Police responded to a 2200 block Southeast Boulevard home at 1:48 a.m. Friday where Bailey Elizabeth Sabatino reported someone had thrown a brick through her window kitchen. Officers searched the area but were unable to find anyone.

– A newspaper carrier flagged down an officer in the 800 block of Barclay Avenue at 6:25 a.m. Friday to report the keys to an elderly woman’s residence were left in the front door. The carrier asked that the officer check on the resident, but noted the screen door was locked. The officer was unable to contact the resident, but a neighbor said she would check on the woman later that morning.

– Monica Pastore reported several stray cats in 900 block Franklin Avenue neighborhood at 7:18 a.m. Friday. She was told that there is no ordinance against such.

– Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at South Ellsworth Avenue and East Pershing Street at 8:23 a.m. Friday in which William Yeager, 82, Salem, was northbound and claimed that the driver of a semi truck had waved him through the intersection. Melinda K. Martin, 39, Salem, was eastbound and also pulled into the intersection, colliding with Yeager’s vehicle. No one was cited, but Yeager was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment.

PERRY TWP.

– Police charged a male juvenile with domestic violence after responded to a domestic dispute report in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

– An officer responded to the 1100 block of Overlook Drive at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday in reference to possible gun shots fired. The officer patrolled the area and sat stationary for several minutes, but found nothing suspicious.

– Police were advised of a man walking on the roadway on U.S. Route 62 heading toward state Route 45 from Mahoning County at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday but were unable to find him.

– Michael A. Eucker, 50, 1441 Buckeye Circle, Salem, was arrested at his home at 9:34 a.m. Thursday on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for driving under suspension.

– Perry Township and Salem police were advised at 3:15 p.m. Thursday of loose cows in the area of Merle and Whinnery roads walking through yards and fields unattended. An officer contacted the animals’ owner, who said the two cows had gotten loose from a pasture on Cunningham Road. The owner escorted the cows back into the pasture.

– Police responded to a report of a woman yelling for assistance in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road at 10:05 p.m. Thursday and found that the woman had been in a verbal altercation with a family member. Both individuals said there had been no physical violence and officers stood by while the woman called for a ride.

– Police responded to an apartment in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 4:05 a.m. Friday where the resident reported her ex-boyfriend was outside yelling and banging on the windows and doors. The suspect had left before officers’ arrival and officers were unable to find him in the area.

COLUMBIANA

– Cheryl Pendergast, Fairfield Avenue, reported at 9:59 a.m. Thursday her neighbor was blowing leaves into her yard. Police told her nothing could be done because it wasn’t against the law.

– A man reported at 1:48 p.m. Thursday there was a dog in a black neon in the Oakmont Plaza that was panting and the vehicle had been in the lot for about a half hour. Police checked and found the windows of the vehicle were partly down and there was enough airflow for the dog to be comfortable.

– Connie Dattilio, state Route 344, reported at 2:48 p.m. Thursday she believed mail and packages have been taken from her mailbox and was concerned about identity theft.

– A woman reported at 3 p.m. Thursday a man sitting on a tarp on West Salem Street appeared to be sick. Police checked but the man was no longer there.

– Terry Bowen, Columbiana-Lisbon Road, reported at 3:36 p.m. Thursday two people were in the area claiming to be Columbia Gas employees and were asking residents questions in the area of Southern Terrace Park. Police checked and found they were legitimate employees and they would get the proper solicitor’s permits.

– Thomas Belan Jr. requested at 4:54 p.m. Thursday police escort him to his place of employment at Vari-Wall so he could retrieve some property.

– Craig McBride reported at 4:57 p.m. Thursday he was raking leaves in his yard and a dog came into the yard and was challenging him. Police warned the dog’s owner, Glenn Grubb, for dogs at large.

– A man reported at 9:51 p.m. Thursday there were three dogs in a backyard of an Apache Lane home that had been barking for about a half hour. Police checked but did not hear any dogs barking.

– A woman reported at 10 a.m. Wednesday a man was on a riding mower on state Route 14 near ME Supply. Police checked but the man was no longer there.

– A woman reported at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday a customer at a salon on state Route 14 was drunk and left the business in a car headed eastbound on state Route 14 in a white silver Explorer with Pennsylvania plates. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– A man reported at 12:38 p.m. Wednesday he was behind two tanker trucks that were northbound on North Main Street and one was leaking a white fluid onto the road. Police found the vehicle and discovered it was coming from the water plant and the liquid was lime which was harmless. The driver corrected the problem by putting a seal on it.

– A woman reported at 2:51 p.m. Wednesday a large branch fell on Firestone Avenue and pulled down power lines to a nearby home. The electric department supervisor was notified.

– A woman reported at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday some boys were riding their bicycles in front of cars in the area of North Middle Street. Police checked but did not see the boys.

– Danielle Staats, 28, Columbiana, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Camelot Drive at 10:58 p.m. Wednesday.

CENTER TWP.

– Fay Gordon, 35121 state Route 172, reported Wednesday she was “mooned” by her neighbor. She also advised that there is an ongoing problem between she and the neighbors. Police spoke with both parties and advised them to leave each other alone.

– Police responded Wednesday to the 36000 block of Hunters Camp Road for a theft complaint. Police found that someone had entered vehicles during the night. The matter is under investigation.

– Andrea Belden called Tuesday to report being harassed by Kurt and Kyle Halloway. She advised that she has told them several times to leave her alone and they continue. She was advised of how to obtain a protection order and to call if there is any more harassment. Police attempted to make contact with Kurt and Kyle, but were unsuccessful.

– Police responded to Tuesday to Roseland Apartments in regard to a female threatening to harm herself. KLG Ambulance responded and transported the female to the hospital.

– The Center Township trustees requested on Tuesday that police respond to a residence on Trinity Church Road regarding a resident putting a culvert in and building a wall near the roadway. They were concerned it would block the view of other motorists. Police spoke with the home owner and advised him that he needed to obtain a permit for the culvert and speak with the trustees about the wall.

– Police responded Tuesday to 7031 St. Jacob-Logtown Road for a dog bite complaint. Barbara Hern advised that her dog had bit a female on a bicycle. The bite was reported to the health department.

SALEM

– Police responded at 9:16 a.m. Thursday to the 800 block of East Fourth Street where a female said she and her live-in boyfriend live on Vine Avenue and had a dispute. Both refused to press charges. Police returned after her parents came while she collected her belongings.

– A woman on Southeast Boulevard reported at 8:15 a.m. Thursday that someone overnight damaged the windshield of her vehicle.

– Loud persons were reported at 4:42 a.m. Thursday in an alley near North Lincoln Avenue and East Fifth Street. Police located two females and a male who said they were being loud but they were leaving. They were told to be quiet in the future due to the hour of the day.

– An assault was reported at 2:14 a.m. Thursday in the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Sixth Street, with an officer also advised the assault occurred in the 600 block of East Eighth Street. The female victim was located and said while visiting a male known to her, he threw a beer bottle at her and hit her in the face. Her hair was wet but officers could not observe any marks. She was told her options.

– A residential security alarm was reported at 12:40 a.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of Pearce Circle. The residence was found secure.

– A reckless operator was reported in the area of Franklin Avenue and Union at 11:13 p.m. Wednesday, with excessive speed reported on Franklin. The vehicle was located and monitored, but no violations were seen.

– An alarm was reported at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday at a business on the Salem Parkway. The exterior was found secure.

– Police met with a person at 8:56 p.m. Wednesday who was concerned for the well-being of a friend residing at an apartment in the 700 block of East Third Street. The friend had not shown up for church and would not come to the door. Nobody had seen him since last Thursday, but the person was able to talk to him through the door, although that was out of character. An officer made contact with the friend through the door but communication was cryptic and the officer believed there may be a medical problem. The landlord was contacted to respond to open the door and fire department first responders and an ambulance crew were summoned. Once inside, the officer noted it was immediately evident the friend was suffering some sort of medical problem. EMT took him to Salem Regional Medical Center and the residence was secured.

– Police were called at 8:34 p.m. Wednesday to Reilly Stadium for a report of several juveniles inside the stadium possibly causing a problem. Officers spoke to several people at the stadium who said there had been two juveniles with a parent inside the track area with bicycles. They had not been causing a problem and left before police arrived. Another person who arrived at the track reported that on Tuesday, juveniles with a bicycle were in the main stadium bleachers.

– An officer responded to the 300 block of West Pershing Street at 8 p.m. Wednesday to assist a Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was trying to find a sex offender who moved to the county but failed to register the new address within the time constraints required by law. The person was staying in the city, but now was living in the township on West Perry Street. The city officer met with a deputy and Perry Township officer. The person was located and told about the violation and the potential for charges, then given directions to the sheriff’s office and told to register the new address in the morning.

– An officer at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday spoke with an anonymous person regarding possible illegal activity occurring in and around the city. The information will be forwarded to the appropriate investigator.

– Dale Merriman, 68, of Winona, reported at 6:59 p.m. Wednesday that he was southbound on South Howard Avenue passing through the intersection at East Pershing Street when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle which failed to stop for the stop sign and fled.

– Police were called to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Wednesday for dogs barking excessively and tied out in a way that allows them to defecate 10 feet into the neighbor’s yard. An officer made contact with the owner who was told about the laws regarding barking dog and defecating on another person’s property.The dogs were being taken inside for the night and the person said the other issue would be corrected.

– Joshua Butler, 32, of 13161 W. Pine Lake Road, was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control after the vehicle he was driving reportedly backed into Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon. Police had been called at 5:58 p.m. to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue for a report of an unresponsive male in a vehicle. The report said the male appeared to have overdosed, lost consciousness and backed into the building. Fire department first responders and EMT ambulance responded and the drug Narcan was administered, then the male became responsive and was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center and later cited. The building sustained no damage and there was only minor damage to the vehicle, which the owner retrieved.

Police responded at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday to the 1100 block of West Perry Street to assist Perry Township on a domestic involving a juvenile possibly armed with a knife. The juvenile left before police arrived and was later located in the 1200 block of South Ellsworth Avenue and taken into custody by township police.

– An illegally parked vehicle was reported at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of East Fifth Street. The vehicle in question was found legally parked, however, police did see a vehicle nearby that was illegally parked and issued a ticket.

– A neighbor dispute was reported at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Ohio Avenue where a man claimed his neighbor took all the available parking spots on the street. He was told it’s public parking and if they wanted to park there, they could.

– Patricia Suits called at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday asking for an officer to accompany her while she retrieved property belonging to her aunt, Pauline Gauntt, who was moving from a residence on East Chestnut Street. The items had been placed on the porch, and Gauntt asked about some jewelry, and Glenn Libert produced some rings but said other items were stolen, which he had previously reported to police.

– Angie Libert, East Lincoln Way, reported Tuesday selling a car to Seth Robinson but he has to make any payments. Libert was advised this was a civil matter. She also said Robinson threatened her.

COLUMBIANA

– Donald Lawrence, 82, Columbiana was northbound through the traffic circle at 10:32 a.m. Tuesday and Christina Villagomez, 29, Columbiana, was westbound through the circle from East Park Avenue and failed to yield to Lawrence who was already in the circle and struck his vehicle. Villagomez was cited for failure to yield.

– Matt Fullerton, no address listed, reported possible identity theft at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

– A woman reported at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday she heard a loud noise coming from the area of Spruce Street. Police checked the area and spoke with residents and were unable to determine what caused the sound.

SALEM

– A man on Rose Avenue reported at 3:27 p.m. Wednesday that an unknown vehicle was parked in his back yard to the west of his residence. The owner was located and moved the vehicle.

– An open window was reported at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday on East Seventh Street. An officer was able to secure the window and storm window and neighbors were going to keep an eye on the house.

– Cyndi Baronzzi Dickey of Southeast Boulevard reported at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday that she pulled into a drive in the 1000 block of North Lincoln Avenue and while backing up to turn around, her vehicle struck the arms on a dumpster in the parking lot. There was no damage to the dumpster.

– A woman on Meadow Lane reported a case of identity theft at 2:14 p.m. Wednesday, saying that a charge on her credit card was not her charge. She reported it to the bank and the card was cancelled.

– A woman in the 1000 block of East Third Street reported at 10:22 a.m. Wednesday that a little boy had been on her front porch in the morning and knocked off the west end bannister. The mother had been with him while they were waiting for the bus to pick them up. She said she’ll talk with the mother. She also asked who to contact about the school bus stop in front of her residence, saying parents sit on her porch smoking and leave their cigarette butts and trash from their coffee on and around her porch. She was told to contact the school bus garage.

– A parking complaint was reported at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Liberty Street. The owner was contacted and moved the vehicle.

– A caller at 3:41 a.m. Wednesday called police to the 100 block of Rose Avenue for a noise disturbance, saying it sounded like the tenant in another apartment was moving furniture and banging on the walls. Police heard no noise coming from the apartment. The tenant was contacted and told about the complaint.

– An alarm was reported at 1:26 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. The exterior of the building was checked and found secure. Another alarm went off at the same location at 2:55 a.m. with the exterior again found secure. A keyholder arrived and the interior was also checked.

– A woman in the 200 block of East Fifth Street called at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday to report a domestic, saying she was assaulted by her live-in boyfriend. He fled on foot and wasn’t located. She had visible injury to the right side of her neck, but declined medical treatment. Information will be sent to the prosecutor.

– An audible alarm was reported at 12:12 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of East Second Street. The exterior of the business was locked and secure. Officers stood by until a keyholder arrived and checked the interior of the business, finding it secure.

– A wanted person was reported at 11:09 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Sixth Street. Bail enforcement was on the scene and entered the residence, recovering the person they wanted.

– An officer saw a suspicious person at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Rose Avenue. The person was walking through parking lots and behind residences and was stopped and identified. The person was not wanted and had no outstanding warrants.

– A shoplifter was reported at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at Family Dollar, 239 W. State St., where store employees said a female had attempted to steal $3 worth of store merchandise. The female was identified and told that she’ll be receiving a summons in the mail from the court and given a court date regarding theft. She was not taken into custody or charged at the scene.

– A woman came to the police station at 6:56 p.m. Tuesday to report a juvenile acting out and not behaving. An officer spoke with the juvenile and advised of the consequences of his behavior.

– Anthony Rothacher, 24, of North Lincoln Avenue, was cited for improper backing after his southbound vehicle on Rose Avenue at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday backed into the front of another southbound vehicle driven by Jillian Huddleston, 26, of Fair Avenue. Rothacher allegedly told police he noticed he needed gas and tried to back into Smith Oil and didn’t see the vehicle behind him.

– A shoplifter was reported at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday at Walmart on East State Street. Police attempted to locate the suspects and will be awaiting additional information from the business.

– Julia Johnston, 26, of Poland, was cited for failure to yield after pulling her vehicle from a private lot on East State Street at 6:03 p.m. Tuesday and striking a westbound vehicle driven by Donald Brandy, 46, of Homeworth.

– Police responded at 5:47 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of East Fifth Street for a complaint about a white SUV blocking an access drive. Officers saw the vehicle on the opposite side of the street from the access drive in a legal parking spot behind the “no parking here to corner” sign. There was no parking violation. Officers drove through the area and utilized the access drive in question with no hindrance resulting from the SUV being parked across the street. Several Salem officers in marked patrol cars also responded and had no problem entering or exiting the drive. Officers have receiving numerous complaints of illegally parked vehicles at the same location in recent weeks and upon responding have seen no violations. The caller has been advised repeatedly that the vehicles are not illegally parked and to refrain from calling the police when no parking violation has actually been seen.

– An officer was stopped at Walmart at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday by a person concerned their vehicle was stolen. The officer checked and found the vehicle was not stolen.

– ATVs were reported in the road in the 600 block of Olive Street at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday, but were not found.

SALEM

– Lucille Karnofel, of Shaker Court, reported at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday that her vehicle was parked in the lot at the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., when another vehicle struck the left rear corner, damaging the bumper. Some reflector light assembly pieces were located from the other vehicle at the scene. The other vehicle was gone.

– Police were called at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday for a report of three male juveniles wearing some type of costumes carrying golf clubs waving them and yelling at cars as they went by walking west toward South Broadway Avenue. Another officer talked to some people in the 500 block of Aetna who saw them go to the alley behind the AMVETS. He spoke to three males who somewhat matched the description in the 400 block of Aetna.

– Tonia Gerber, owner of the Power House Cafe, 530 S. Broadway Ave., reported at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday that three customers ran a tab on their credit cards and when the bartender finalized their bills at the end of the evening, the cards were discovered to be no good. She said she gave the customers time to pay their debt, but they have yet to do so.

– David Shivers, of the Salem Historical Society, called at 10:31 a.m. Tuesday to report between 4 p.m. Oct. 11 and 5:30 a.m. Oct. 15, money came up missing from a deposit from the Dale Shaffer Library, 239 S. Lundy Ave., but showed up at the treasurer’s residence all intact. They wanted it reported since somehow someone got inside and removed the money then returned the undisclosed amount.

– A resident in the 1700 block of Pearce Circle reported a case of identity theft at 8:14 a.m. Tuesday. A loan had been taken out in his name from Northcash Finance based in Montana. He received a letter in the mail with options to pay an overdue payment. He notified the bank to not transfer the money to this company, noting it appeared to be fraud and he needed a report filed.

– Officers responded to multiple railroad track crossings in the south end of the city at 2:21 a.m. Tuesday in an attempt to locate a truck reported parked near the railroad tracks. The truck was located at the Norfolk Southern railroad station on South Ellsworth Avenue and turned out to be a railroad truck.

– An officer at 1:42 a.m. Tuesday saw various pieces of metal in the road at the intersection of East State Street and Southeast Boulevard. The officer removed the metal and disposed of it properly.

– A woman from Hanoverton came to the station at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday to report her concern over the smell of gas at her residence near Guilford Lake. She was given the contact information for her local fire department.

– Officers at 7:31 p.m. Monday saw an occupied vehicle parked at the deadend of Butcher Road with no lights on. The occupants said they had been studying. They were told to find a better location to study.

– A caller in the 700 block of East Fifth Street reported at 7:08 p.m. Monday that a vehicle was parked in an illegal manner, but police responded and found no violation.

– An obstruction was reported in the road in the 1800 block of East State Street where police found people working on the hospital entrance at 6:24 p.m. Monday. The workers were told about the complaint.

– Police officers and firefighters already in the 900 block of Prospect Street noticed a large plume of black smoke to the northeast at 5:51 p.m. Monday. A resident was found in the 700 block of Sharp burning some prohibited material along with recently cut brush. The resident extinguished the fire with a garden hose and was given a warning about open burning. Police had been in the area at 5:38 p.m. Monday on West Wilson Street near Sharp and noticed a large amount of white smoke. The area was checked and a large pile of leaves was burning and smoldering in a back yard in the 900 block of Prospect Street. Nobody was home and the fire department responded to extinguish the leaves. An officer will follow up and issue a warning for open burning.

– Police were called at 4:39 p.m. Monday to Centennial Park for a report of several juveniles attempting to cause damage to the playground. Police found two juveniles who said they were playing. They were told about the complaint and sent on their way.

– Three Wellsville residents were each charged for their alleged involvement in a shoplifting incident at Walmart on East State Street at 4:59 p.m. Monday. Officers had been called to the scene and made contact with the suspects, recovering the stolen merchandise. All three were taken to the station, processed and taken to the Columbiana County jail. Additional charges are pending further investigation. Karen Dicenzi, 21, of 1701 17th St., was charged with misdemeanor theft. Koty Claypool, 21, of the same address, was charged with a misdemeanor complicity to theft. Shawn Cunningham, 27, of the same address, was charged with misdemeanors of complicity to theft and obstructing official business.

COLUMBIANA

– A man reported at 8:18 p.m. Monday there was a large amount of smoke in the area of Kingwood Drive. The fire department was notified and was unable to find where the smoke was coming from.

LISBON

– Mark Palmer struck a light pole while turning around in the parking lot near the recycling dumpsters on Dickey Drive at 3:58 a.m. Oct. 28. Palmer said his view was obstructed by the heavy rainfall at the time. The van belonged to Denise Landfried.

SALEM

– A dog was reported at large in the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 12:40 p.m. Monday. An officer located the dog and stood by until a family member arrived and took it home.

– A man from the 400 block of Franklin reported at 12:15 p.m. Monday that he and his wife separated and she moved out in July, leaving behind their 1-year-old and 2-year-old sons. He’s been caring for them. She moved to an unknown location in Alliance and now he said she’s been calling and harassing him and threatening that her boyfriend wants to fight him and she’s threatening to take the kids. He was told a court needed to decide custody of the children. He wanted the harassment documented in case she and her boyfriend show up at his residence.

– A person was asked to be removed at 12:12 p.m. Monday from a South Lincoln Avenue property in the 200 block, but was already in the process of leaving when officers arrived.

– A debit card was turned over to police at 11:05 a.m. Monday. Attempts were being made to call the owner.

– Stacey Butcher, 41, of Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield after she pulled her vehicle from a municipal lot in the 400 block of East Pershing Street at 9:02 a.m. Monday and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Robert Yuhanick, 64, of Carriage Hill Drive. Butcher told police her windows were somewhat foggy and she did not see the other vehicle on the street.

– A woman in the 900 block of South Avenue reported an alleged prowler at 11:29 p.m. Sunday, but nobody was found.

– Adalee Moore, 23, of High Street, Washingtonville, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 11 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

– A barking dog was reported at 9:36 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Jennings Avenue, but was not found.

– A woman in the 400 block of South Union Avenue reported at 9:30 p.m. Sunday that she let her roommate use her vehicle and now the person is refusing to return it. She was told her options.

– Police were called at 8:24 p.m. Sunday to Salem Regional Medical Center emergency department to assist hospital staff in identifying a Latino patient. An interpreter was already on the scene and assisted an officer in obtaining the 17-year-old boy’s identity. The interpreter had already contacted a relative of the boy and arranged for transportation for the relative to the hospital to pick the boy up. A copy of the incident will be sent to Children Services.

– A woman in the 900 block of West Wilson Street reported at 8:04 p.m. Sunday that a known male grabbed her head/upper face during a verbal altercation. He had already left after the woman called police. The incident will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.

– Suspicious people were reported at 7:07 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Vine Avenue after a woman said she was pulling into her drive and saw two people on her front porch with flashlights. Officers made contact and the people said their daughter lost her iPhone at school and they were using the FindMyiPhone App. The app said the phone was in an area near the residence, in the back yard and garage area. Officers told the woman what the people said and why they were there.

– A domestic was reported at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of West Wilson Street. The matter was found to be a civil situation.

– An ATV was reported on the road in the area of Bentley Drive and North Cunningham Road at 3:18 p.m. Sunday, but was not found.

– A woman in the 500 block of East Fourth Street reported at 12:46 p.m. Sunday that her ex-husband’s fiancee continues to message her. Officers spoke with the fiancee and she said the woman won’t leave her alone. Due to a child being involved, they can’t cease contact. A debit card was also recovered.

PERRY TWP.

– A runaway juvenile was reported at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Somerset Drive. The incident is under investigation.

– Police responded at 5:39 p.m. Sunday to the 1500 block of Jackson Avenue for a dog bite, with a homeowner reporting his dog was bitten by the neighbor’s dog around 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The neighbor told police they were aware of the situation. Police will be contacting the dog warden.

– A Lisbon man reported at 1:46 p.m. Sunday that someone punctured two tires on his vehicle while it was parked at apartments on West Perry Street while the vehicle was being used by a friend for transportation. Damage was estimated at $400 for the tires.

– Gregory Dennison, 29, of Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance after the vehicle he was driving on East Pidgeon Road near Canterbury Lane failed to stop and struck the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by Jessica Marks, 32, of Deerfield, who had stopped for traffic ahead turning into Canterbury Lane at 12:37 p.m. Sunday. Marks was cited for expired registration. No injuries were reported.

– Police checked on four juveniles after receiving calls at 9:24 a.m. Sunday of suspicious juveniles walking in the 900 to 1000 block of Georgetown Road. Officers located the juveniles at a residence in the 1000 block and took them to a parent’s address in Perry Township. All four were released to the parent of two of the juveniles.

– A reported missing juvenile was found behind a business in the area of Pembrooke Estates at 8:33 a.m. Sunday. The juvenile was returned to the foster parent. The 15-year-old had been reported missing at 11:57 p.m. Saturday from a Somerset Drive residence.

– An officer on patrol at 7:56 a.m. Sunday found a small tree had fallen across one lane of Egypt Road. The tree was pushed to the side.

– A woman on West Perry Street reported at 11:08 p.m. Saturday that her 13-year-old son had run away. At 4:43 a.m. Saturday, she had reported that he stole her purse and cell phone, which were recovered but with the cash and a card missing. The juvenile admitted taking the items but was unsure about the location of the missing card. He’s on probation and the mother was going to tell his probation officer.

– Police helped block traffic at 8:51 p.m. Friday after a structure fire on Prospect Street Extension from earlier in the week rekindled. Perry Township, Salem and Damascus fire departments responded. A woman on Prospect Street Extension reported at 8:35 a.m. Friday that someone was pounding on her door, but no one was there. Police didn’t locate anyone. Possibly someone from the neighborhood was attempting to warn them about the house next door reigniting, the report said.

– Township police located a vehicle parked in a parking lot on West Perry Street at 10:35 a.m. Friday and notified Salem Police. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Salem. The owner was contacted to retrieve it.

– Robert Jacob Daugherty, 23, of 1143 W. Perry St., was taken into custody on a warrant at 10:44 a.m. Friday for failure to appear. The arrest occurred while police were on West Perry Street for a recovered stolen vehicle report. Daugherty was handed over to a deputy.

GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT

– Jerel D. Cutlip, 40, 13365 Main St., Beloit, was arrested at his home on an active warrant at 2:40 p.m. Friday.

– Jacob E. Andrews, 36, 186 S. Howard Ave., Salem, was arrested at his place of employment in the 500 block of East State Street at 4:20 p.m. Friday on an active warrant.

– John S. Mason, 28, 156 W. Middletown Road, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension and loud exhaust following a traffic stop at state routes 45 and 165 at 9 p.m. Friday in which his girlfriend said that she owned the vehicle and that Mason was driving because she was pregnant and sick. The girlfriend declined medical attention and drove the remainder of the way to the Salem Regional Medical Center, escorted by the officer.

COLUMBIANA

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle parked in Firestone Park at 12:35 a.m. Sunday. It was found the vehicle was there as part of a school function and there were no problems.

– The highway patrol reported at 2:27 p.m. Sunday there was a reckless driver westbound on state Route 14. Police looked for the vehicle but it was not found.

– A woman reported at 7:16 p.m. Sunday there was a suspicious man near the entrance to Old Saybrook and he had been standing there and walking around for about a half hour. Police did not see the man.

LISBON

– A caller reported there was someone hanging around the Home Savings Bank at 11:24 a.m. Saturday. Police arrived to find a state trooper at the location, and the trooper said he was flagged down by someone who said the person was being inappropriate in the parking lot. Police spoke with the female suspect, who was found drunk in the back seat of a vehicle. The driver stated she had just stopped at the bank before taking the backseat passenger home to Ganders Flat. The driver was told to take the passenger home or the passenger would be charged with public intoxication if she was found out again.

– Police were called to Apple Grove apartments at 11:49 p.m. Saturday after a resident reported a neighbor stole his iPad, although he had no reason or evidence to suspect his neighbor was responsible. Police told the man to come to the police department the next day, after he sobers up, to give written statement.

– A caller reported a possible domestic dispute at the corner of West Lincoln Way and South Beaver Street at 7:32 p.m. Friday. Police found Brad Shannon and Willi McCullough, and Shannon said McCullough was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend while she was getting a tattoo at a place across the street. Shannon said the ex-boyfriend shoved him before leaving.

– John Wallace, Gavers Road, Hanoverton, reportedly struck the rear bumper of a parked vehicle belonging to Nancy Hall of East Liverpool while trying to park outside the Steel Trolley Diner at 12:56 p.m. Friday.

– Police were called to the Valley View convenience store in regard to a vehicle on fire at the gas pumps at 2:06 p.m. Oct. 3. The fire had already been extinguished and the vehicle pushed to the side, and the driver was waiting for his brother-in-law to arrive.

– Police responded to a fight at the corner of East Chestnut and Vine at 12:32 a.m. Oct. 16 and found Paul Meyers and Kevin and Adam Dopp on a front porch. The parties said there was no fight but there was an argument when an intoxicated Adam Dopp tried to leave the house, but he went back in the house. All parties were advised to keep the noise down.

– Lisa Carter reported Saturday receiving harassing text messages from her estranged husband.

– Deborah Greiner reported Saturday being involved in an altercation with Edyth Devine at the Night Court earlier in the week and now Devine was harassing her on Facebook.

– Randy Dean reported Saturday his family was being harassed via electronic means by a cousin and the cousin’s daughter for control over his mother’s medical decisions. Police contacted the cousin and told her to cease harassing them or Dean could file charges against them.

POLICE REPORTS

Salem reports

– Police responded to the 200 block of Penn Avenue at 12:39 a.m. for a report of an intoxicated driver. The complainant advised they went to jump start a person’s vehicle and the person seemed to be very intoxicated. The vehicle was started before the complainant’s arrival and the complainant offered the person a ride home but he got into the vehicle and started driving toward Franklin Avenue. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

– At 12:48 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge to assist Perry Township police on a missing juvenile complaint and stood by as they investigated.

– Police responded to the 1900 block of E. State Street at 1:53 a.m. Sunday for a report of an assault on N. Ellsworth Avenue near Fourth Street. The victim said he was walking down the sidewalk when an unknown person struck him from behind on the head. Police advised him to call if he got any information about the incident.

– At 1:51 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1800 block of E. State Street for an intoxicated driver report. Police located the vehicle in the 1100 block of E. State Street and notified the driver, who was not intoxicated, of the complaint.

– Police responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 8:54 p.m. Saturday to check on the well being of two young juveniles who appeared to be OK. Police detected an odor of marijuana and the report will be forwarded to children services.

– At 6:18 p.m. Saturday, a resident from the 500 block of Columbia Street was on station advising that her son’s name had been on a list on the front door of a business in the 500 block of E. State Street as a shoplifter. She said he was a juvenile and wanted to know if police had a report of him stealing anything. There was nothing on file and the complainant advised the business took the list down but she wanted a report on file.

– At 6:24 p.m. Saturday, police responded to N. Union Avenue and E. 3rd Street after an employee of the AAA called about towing a vehicle with heavy damage. The driver said she was in an accident in Lisbon on Wednesday morning and had not driven the vehicle since and it broke down today. Police ran a check through LEADs and her licensed was suspended and police cited Denise E. Landfried, 521 Walnut St., for driving under suspension.

– At 7:26 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 700 block of E. 5th Street and while en route for a missing juvenile report they passed a juvenile that looked like the missing person and found that it was. The juvenile was transported to their residence.

– A complainant was on station at 7:27 p.m. Saturday who reported that his daughter was walking in the area of S. Union Avenue and Oak Street when her ex-boyfriend started chasing her and calling her names. The complainant wanted to get a restraining order and he was advised to contact the Columbiana County Court and the juvenile court since they are both juveniles. Police spoke to the male juvenile and he stated he did not chase his ex-girlfriend but did see her earlier in the evening. He was advised to stay away and have no contact with her.

– At 8:40 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 600 block of S. Union Avenue where the complainant advised her ex-husband wouldn’t leave the house that he did not live at. He said he stopped to see his kids and got into an argument with the complainant. He was advised to contact the courts about visitation with his children. The complainant advised she had sole custody and just wanted him to leave. She was advised to contact the police if he returned.

– At 8:54 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 400 block of Sharp Avenue where a white dog was at the complainant’s house growling at them as they were having a small cookout. The dog fled up the alley and police were unable to locate it.

– At 10:56 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 700 block of Park Avenue where the complainant advised that two people in a green Blazer threw something at her house and drove off. Police were unable to find any objects or locate the vehicle.

– At 11:27 a.m. Saturday, police on a call in the 200 block of Rose Avenue were advised a Cleveland Browns’ flag was taken down from an unknown location and left sitting next to a residence. Police placed the flag in the department lost and found.

– At 10:49 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue for a report that someone threw a cement block onto the complainant’s windshield overnight.

– Police responded to the gas station in the 900 block of E. State Street at 10:02 a.m. Saturday where the manager advised a couple was in the store and attempted to use a new $50 bill that the pen test showed as fraudulent. The couple said they just got the money from a local bank and an officer went with them to the bank where the manager advised it appeared to real and she would handle it with the couple and send the bill in to their people to be checked.

– Police responded to the 600 block of E. 5th Street at 8:46 a.m. Saturday where a bike was recovered from the front lawn. It was taken to the police department.

– Police responded to the 700 block of E. 7th Street at 8:41 a.m. Saturday, where the complainant advised a brick had been thrown through her driver’s side window on her truck parked on the side of the residence. Then a brick was use to break the outer pane of a double-pane of a 4-by-4 foot living room window. Photos were taken.

Columbiana REPORTS

– A elderly North Pearl Avenue woman reported at 5:38 p.m. Saturday she received a phone call from an unknown person claiming to be from the CCJ. She hung up.

– Police helped someone on Hawkins Lane find an open window when they were locked out of their home at 6:10 p.m. Saturday.

– Sparkle reported at 7:19 p.m. Saturday a man and woman stole a partially loaded buggy of meat from the cooler of the meat department.

– A woman reported at 9:39 p.m. Saturday she was following a possibly drunk driver in a dark red Toyota westbound on state Route 14 and then northbound on state Route 164. The driver was reportedly jerking within the lane and going off the right side of the roadway. A patrolman followed the vehicle, but did not see any violations before they left city limits.

– Anthony Gipson, Shreveport, La., and Amy Falk, East Palestine, were both turning westbound into the Village Plaza at 12:15 p.m. Oct. 18 when Falk struck Gipson from behind and was lodged underneath the trailer on the back of Gipson’s vehicle. Falk was cited with assured clear distance.

– Barbara Kiehl, Rogers, turned eastbound onto state Route 14 from McDonald’s at 1:44 p.m. Thursday. Elaine Yoder, Columbiana, was waved by stopped traffic to also make an eastbound turn onto state Route 14 from the Dutch Village Inn. Yoder did not see Kiehl and struck the side of her vehicle. Yoder was cited with failure to yield from a private driveway.

– Timothy Gallo, Youngstown, was in the traffic circle heading westbound on West Park at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday while JoAnn Doughty, Poland, was heading southbound on North Main Street and failed to yield to the traffic in the circle. Doughty struck Gallo and was cited for failure to yield at the stop sign.

– Michael Frattaroli, Youngstown, was eastbound on state Route 14 at 11:51 a.m. Thursday and began slowing in traffic due to an audible siren. Michael DeMarco, Canfield, was in front of Frattaroli and also slowing for the siren. Frattaroli told police his foot slipped off the brake pedal and onto the accelerator, causing him to strike DeMarco from behind. Frattaroli was cited with assured clear distance.

LISBON

– An alarm at the Columbiana County Municipal Court at 11:07 p.m. Wednesday was found to have been set off by the cleaning crew.

– Leslie Arter, West Pine Street, Lisbon, reported at 7:47 p.m. Thursday someone pulled one of her Halloween decorations out of the ground. It had been held in by five spikes and she believed they worked really hard to get it

COLUMBIANA

– Brenda Melott of Columbiana asked police to stand by while she retrieved some property from a North Cross Street address at 10:29 a.m. Friday and again at 3:34 p.m. Friday.

– After repossessing a vehicle, the driver reported at 12:03 p.m. Friday he found a small baggie of what appeared to be marijuana. The bag was turned over to police and destroyed.

– Danny Lockard of Columbiana reported leaves in the roadway at 3:46 p.m. Friday. Police did not find enough leaves to be in violation.

POLICE REPORTS

SALEM

– Police responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:57 p.m. for a report of large fight in progress. Upon arrival the people involved were gone and two went to the hospital where one was treated and one refused treatment. Photos were taken of the injuries and one person wanted to pursue charges and the other did not. Information was obtained and written statements from a woman and two men were taken. Both the injured people were advised to respond to the police department when they could provide statements. The incident remains under investigation with charges pending.

– At 12:38 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of Jennings Avenue where the complainant said a known man stole his Sony Playstation 3 from the residence in the past hour. Information was obtained.

– At 1:37 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue and served an outstanding warrant on John S. Mehno, 549 N. Ellsworth Ave., for indecent exposure out of Columbiana County.

– Police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:47 a.m. Saturday and the complainant heard her door rattle and suspected there might be a prowler. Police checked and there was no one around.

– At 3:15 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 500 block of S. Broadway Ave. for a report of an intoxicated man lying beside his car. He was awakened and a cab transported him home.

Police responded to the 200 block of South Howard Avenue at 5:25 a.m. Saturday to assist Perry Township police investigating an incident in its jurisdiction and stood by.

– At 5:06 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 600 block of Olive Street for a report of ATVs on the road and spoke with the people who denied being on the street or private property.

– Police responded to the railroad tracks at West Wilson Street at 11:06 p.m. Friday for a report of a garbage can on the tracks and removed it.

– Police responded to the 500 block of Columbia Street at 10:26 p.m. Friday where the complainant advised a window was broken by a person known to him. He was advised to contact police when he arrived home.

– At 10:03 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue where the complainant advised an unknown person had thrown paint on to the side of his vehicle and garage door. Police advised the caller of the options.

– Police responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 9:11 p.m. Friday for a report of a person throwing objects into the stadium. Police located a group throwing a bottle back and forth.

– At 8:33 p.m. Friday, police responded to the West Pershing Street railroad crossing for a report of the gate malfunctioning. A train had broken down and police directed traffic until it was fixed.

– Police responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 7:05 p.m. Friday for an open burning of construction wood in a fire pit. The fire department advised that only firewood and tree limbs can be used.
