LISBON
-- Springfield police asked Lisbon police to check on two children who have not been attending school and are not enrolled in anywhere. On Friday, police went to the home on North Market Street, and the mother said she was in the process of enrolling the children in the Buckeye Online School for Success.
-- A man who lives on West Lincoln Way at 4:36 p.m. Sept. 28 reported hearing gunshots and someone screaming. Police arrived and spoke to the man, who said he heard gunshots and feared for his life because he believed the entire town was out to get him. He said he had just moved there from a mental health facility in Youngstown. The man agreed to be transported to a local hospital for evaluation, but he insisted on being walked out to the ambulance while handcuffed --so they will know I am not working for you guys.Ï The officer told him he would instead hold his hands behind his back and that was acceptable.
-- Police were called to a neighbor dispute on East Chestnut Street at 11:55a.m. Sept. 27.
-- A woman at 425 E. Washington St. reported her office was egged on back-to-back nights last week.

-- Homer Huprich, 79, of Salem, was cited for failure to yield after his vehicle entered the intersection at the state Route 45 bypass from Georgetown Road and was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by John Bricker, 54, of Salem, at 8:45 p.m. Monday. Huprich and his passenger were both taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown for injuries.
-- Police responded to the 1500 block of Grant Street at 7:19 p.m. Monday for an alarm, finding that the female resident hit the alarm wanting someone removed. Police found a man, who also lived there, sitting in the bedroom. Both parties admitted to officers that they were high on heroin. The woman was very agitated and the man was calm. She was leaving and the man stayed in the garage until she left.
-- A woman on Van Buren Avenue reported at 6:31 p.m. Monday that she found a note on her door, possibly from the neighbor, telling her to vacate the garage and leave the contents intact within three days.
-- Donna Smith, 36, of Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her westbound vehicle struck the rear of another westbound vehicle driven by John Chaffin, 39, of Youngstown, after the light turned green on state Route 45 at state Route 9 at 5:22 p.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.
-- A domestic was reported at 3:17 p.m. Monday in the 1800 block of North Lincoln Avenue. Police found no domestic, but learned a couple had an argument with their 16-year-old granddaughter who took off walking. They have custody of her. The girl was stopped by Salem police on Aetna and said she was the caller on the domestic. She was allegedly confronted by the grandparents after they heard about her using drugs. The grandfather came to the scene and took her back home.
-- Cody Fisher, 29, of Waynesburg, was cited for failure to yield after stopping at the stop sign on the bypass and pulling out, getting struck by a southbound vehicle driven on U.S. Route 62 (North Lincoln Avenue) by Joseph Rinko, 57, of Salem, at 10:38 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.
SALEM
-- Officers at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday checked the area of Jennings Avenue for a missing juvenile from Ashtabula County after the sheriff's office there pinged the missing juvenile's phone in the general area. No one was found.
-- Police were called at 8:40 p.m. Monday to the 500 block of Walnut Street for a person breaking into an apartment. Officers had been at the same apartment earlier for the same reason. The resident had said the suspects were in his bedroom closet, but police found no one there. The resident was apparently having a mental health crisis. Fire department first responders and EMT ambulance arrived and transported him to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
-- A caller at 9:05 p.m. Monday reported a suspicious package arriving in the 600 block of East Perry Street. The package was addressed to that residence but zero deliveries were expected. Officers returned the package to the post office.
-- A woman in the 800 block of Granite Avenue reported at 9:04 p.m. Monday that sometime overnight her unlocked vehicle was entered and her wallet was stolen containing cash and personal property. A $10 bill was taken from the driver side door also.
-- Police responded at 8:37 p.m. Monday to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue for an elderly female who was confused. A woman found the female on West Third Street and she wanted to return home. Once at the residence, she was unsure where she was. Officers verified it was her residence. Fire department first responders arrived and she was uncooperative when medical treatment was attempted. Multiple family members were contacted who took over and were able to stay with her.
-- Officers were flagged down at 8:10 p.m. Monday by a man in the 1000 block of East Ninth Street who said a male was going around looking into houses with a flashlight. He didn't recognize him and the male left when he confronted him.
-- A woman came to the station at 5:11 p.m. Monday to report harassment. Officers viewed messages from the male half involved and told her some options.
-- A domestic dispute was reported inside a vehicle at 3:39 p.m. Monday in the 1800 block of East State Street, but was not located.
-- Officers at 3:16 p.m. Monday spoke with a woman at Aetna and Homewood about a verbal dispute that happened at her residence. The dispute occurred in Perry Township, so a township officer responded to handle the complaint.
-- Carmen Stancil, 28, of 771 N. Lincoln Ave., was charged with theft and taken to jail after police were called at 12:45 p.m. Monday to Family Dollar, 239 W. State St., for a shoplifter. An employee reported seeing a female carrying a DVD player out of the store without paying for it. A description of the female and a registration for the vehicle was provided and police located her on North Lincoln.
-- A man in the 1100 block of East Pershing Street reported at 11:15 a.m. Monday that someone broke into his detached garage and stole an handheld blower, rechargeable flashlight and two impact drills.
-- A cell phone found on Highland Avenue was turned over to police at 10:21 a.m. Monday.
-- Police responded at 9:01 a.m. Monday to the 2300 block of Tanglewood for a person to be removed. A woman reported a female came to her home because she could not get in touch with her son. Officers located the female in the woman's car. They were able to get in touch with the female's son who said his mother is having medical issues and they were going to see a doctor soon. The son responded and took his mother back home.
