-- James R. Pesano, 35, of Vine Street in Salem, was served at 10 p.m. Saturday with a warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle out of Mahoning County.
-- Police were dispatched at 8:59 a.m. Saturday to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive for a domestic in progress between the complainant's son and a girlfriend but the girlfriend said it never became physical.
-- Two male subjects' verbal argument over a bicycle was interrupted by police at 11:51 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive. Hours later, officers responded to a disorderly conduct in the same area of Cedar Ridge Drive, after a neighbor accused another man of calling police.
-- Numerous driveway markers were recovered at 10:23 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Quaker Lane, where they had been leaned up against the complainant's mailbox after a group of kids had allegedly stolen them. Contact was made with the driver of a suspect vehicle, who was supposed to make the youth retrieve and return them to their rightful owners within the next few days.
-- A report of a prowler at 3:36 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West School Street could not be substantiated.
-- Two subjects loitering at 11:45 p.m. Friday the 2700 block of East State Street, looking for a ride, were notified of the complaint and sent on their way.
-- A debit card was found at 9:36 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue and turned into the Salem Police Department recovered property.
-- No citation was issued at 6:47 p.m. Dec. 11 in the area of Ellsworth Avenue and Second Street, after an unidentified female admitted to being at fault in a crash.
-- A dogs at large complaint was lodged at 3:14 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 900 block of South Lundy Avenue, where one of the animals had been caught by a bystander. The dog's owner, who lives in the 400 block of Perry Street, was given a verbal warning.
-- Police responded at 2:08 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 300 block of North Howard Avenue for a complaint about a person burning leaves.
-- Officers responded at 8:15 a.m. Dec. 11 to the 200 block of Vine Avenue to investigate possible shots fired, which was later dismissed as possibly caused by a work crew and a loaded bucket at Sixth Street and Hawley Avenue.
-- Abigail Hochadel, 19, of Cunningham Road reported at 8:02 a.m. Dec. 11 that her vehicle was struck by a white Honda Pilot, while at an intersection at Lincoln and Second. The Honda fled the scene, after causing minor damage to her vehicle.
-- Two Salem men were arrested at 10:31 p.m. Dec. 11 in the 700 block of New Garden Avenue, after a brief foot pursuit. Officers reported that Andrew E. VanHorn, 22, and Austin L. VanHorn, 19, were charged with failure to comply, resisting arrest and obstruction, while Austin drew an additional underage consumption charge. Police attempted to check on a possible disabled motor vehicle in the 400 block of Arch Street, when the VanHorns took off running southbound behind residences when they saw the officer approaching the vehicle. They split up with one eventually being caught hiding behind the back door of his residence, while the other was retrieved after he lunged at officers behind a couch in the home. Both also declined to identify themselves.
-- Ryan M. Thompson, of Vine Avenue, was arrested at 1:12 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Vine Avenue on obstructing official business and served with a warrant for failure to appear on an aggravated menacing charge. Officers had been dispatched to the area for a complaint alleging several individuals were inside a vacant apartment and using narcotics. Upon contact, Thompson allegedly lied to officers repeatedly and told them he had just moved in.
