PERRY TOWNSHIP
-- An officer assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 7:54 a.m. Tuesday at a traffic accident in the 1900 block of state Route 9.
-- Kayla Burkett, 28, of Salem, was cited for failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign on Snyder Road, pulling out to turn south onto Depot Road and colliding with a northbound vehicle driven by Devan Brown, 32, of Salem, at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported.
-- Police were called at 10:52 p.m. Monday to the bypass/interchange where an officer saw a semi parked and spoke to two people delivering cars to a customer and having issues with the truck. The problem was fixed and they were on their way.
-- Police made two arrests after responding to a residence in the 1100 block of Prospect Street Extension for a 911 hangup call at 5:08 p.m. Monday. Dispatch reached the caller and learned a male was at the residence. Officers knew the male, Steve Colian, 41, was wanted on a felony warrant for domestic violence. Officers arrived with Salem Police units and cleared occupants from the residence before entering with the Salem K-9. Deanna Moschella, 41, would not willingly leave and had to be forcibly removed from the basement. She was charged with a felony for obstructing justice and then misdemeanor resisting arrest after resisting when officers attempted to handcuff her. Officers searched the residence and a Salem K-9 found Colian in a bedroom closet and took him into custody. Both Colian and Moschella were taken to jail.
SALEM
-- Police responded at 2:16 a.m. Tuesday to the 2100 block of Monroe Street for a report of animal cruelty. A woman believed she heard a cat being mistreated in a neighboring apartment. Officers checked on the well-being of the cat, which appeared to be fine.
-- Police were called at 10:52 p.m. Monday to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue for an intoxicated male. The male said a family member was at the residence and caused damage before leaving, the male then walked to the person's residence to confront him. He was transported to his home. The other party said he was shoved. Both were told to respond to the station when sober to make a statement if they want to press charges.
-- A woman in the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue reported at 8:57 p.m. Monday that she kicked her boyfriend out of her apartment and shortly after, he told her that he slashed her tires. Officers found no evidence of a slash, however, it appeared the valve stem was removed from the rear driver side tire.
-- A caller at 7:28 p.m. Monday reported a female was operating a vehicle under the influence of narcotics allegedly traveling to Smith Oil on East State Street. Police located the vehicle in question at the owner's residence, spoke to the owner and determined she was sober.
-- Police responded to Walmart on East State Street at 4:33 p.m. Monday for a shoplifter. Loss prevention personnel said a female failed to scan $481 worth of merchandise and tried to leave without paying. She was told a summons will be issued for her for theft. Another female was reported for alleged shoplifting at 2:59 p.m. after allegedly failing to scan $49 worth of merchandise and trying to leave. She was also told to expect a summons.
-- A resident in the 900 block of Liberty Street reported at 10:53 a.m. Monday that they accidentally left the garage unlocked and items were stolen.
-- Construction debris was found dumped at the dead end of Butcher Road off of East Pershing at 10:32 a.m. Monday.
-- Police responded at 9:33 a.m. Monday to a private property accident in the Giant Eagle parking lot where a driver said his foot came off the brake, causing his vehicle to strike another vehicle. The driver said he hit the steering wheel but refused any medical attention. There was minor damage to the rear bumper of the second car and minor damage to the front license plate of the first car.
-- Police responded at 8:46 a.m. Monday to the 1200 block of Jennings Avenue to attempt contact with a resident at the request of the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office. Police learned the person no longer lived in the city.
-- A barking dog was reported at 7:35 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of West Pershing Street, but police didn't hear or find a dog.
COLUMBIANA
-- A woman came in at 11:20 a.m. Monday with a wallet that her husband had found on state Route 11.
-- Officers were dispatched to a residence on Union Street at 3:57 p.m. Monday for a dispute between a landlord and tenant. Both parties were issued warnings for disorderly conduct.
