LISBON - In Common Pleas Court, Tavares J. Bell, 39, Willowick, pleaded guilty to two counts of illegal conveyance of a drug of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility, along with a forfeiture specification. Bell faces up to six years in prison and a $20,000 fine for the two third-degree felony charges. Sentencing is set for July 23. Bell had been found with cocaine and fentanyl inside his sock when he was booked into the county jail on Aug. 31, 2017. The forfeiture specification involved $135 in drug proceeds.
Tyler Austin, 27, Steubenville, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, possession of drug abuse instruments, illegal drug paraphernalia and three counts of aggravated possession of drugs. He faces up to four years in prison and a fine of $11,000, as well as a five-year license suspension. Sentencing is set for May 27. One charge is for having oxycodone on Aug. 12. The other charges are for having amphetamines, methamphetamines, cocaine, a syringe and other paraphernalia on Nov. 19, 2019.
Angelina M. Carosella, 46, Beard Road, New Springfield, was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction. She pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs for having oxycodone on May 29 and was placed on a three-year treatment program.
David W. Fonner, 31, Carlisle Road, Lisbon, was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction and pleaded guilty to improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony. He was placed on a three-year treatment program. On Feb. 17, 2020, Fonner was found to have a loaded Taurus Judge pistol inside his vehicle when he was stopped in East Liverpool.
Justin A. Green, 30, Cross Street, Columbiana, stipulated to violating the terms of his community service for a breaking and entering charge. He was sentenced to 242 days in jail with credit for 202 already served. The breaking and entering charge was from 2016, when he trespassed into Angel Enterprises, state Route 14, New Waterford, which was owned by Jerry Angel.
Brandi Lee Cope, also known as Brandi Lee McVay, 27, Cleveland, stipulated to violating the terms of her community control on a possession of a fentanyl-related compound charge. She was sentenced to an additional six months in prison consecutive to time she is serving in another case from 2018. In this matter, Cope had been found with a fentanyl-related compound on Nov. 21, 2018.
Brandon D. Savin, 26, Oakland Avenue, East Liverpool, stipulated to violating the terms of his community control. He was sentenced to serve 60 days in the county jail with credit for 35 days already served for a receiving stolen property conviction. The charge had been for having a 1998 Jeep Cherokee belonging to Gregory Norman Paff on June 7, 2016.
