LISBON — In Common Pleas Court, Samuel F. Masters Jr., 45, state Route 154, Elkton, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for failure to provide notice of change of address. Masters is required to register his address as a sexual offender with a 2011 conviction of sexual battery.
Bradley M. McKenzie, 41, Westfield Road, East Liverpool, was sentenced to nine months in prison for tampering with evidence and possessing drug abuse instruments. On Feb. 2, 2021, McKenzie attempted to hide a folded piece of paper for holding drugs from authorities, when he also had a syringe in his possession.
Mark Brewer, 45, Main Street, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to assault, a fourth-degree felony, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor charge, for harm caused to Patrolman Danny Wallace as he was trying to take Brewer into custody on Dec. 16, 2020. He was sentenced to seven months in prison and credited with 16 days already served.
Noah P. Barrett, 37, Jacksonville, stipulated to violating the terms of his intervention treatment plan he was placed on after pleading previously to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. The intervention treatment plan was dishonorably terminated and he was placed on community control. The charge was for methamphetamines on Aug. 15, 2018.
Jamarcus M. Jacobs, 30, East Fifth Street, Salem, stipulated to violating the terms of his community control he was placed on after he was convicted of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony, for stealing money from Walmart between Aug. 29 and Oct. 4, 2019. Jacobs community control will continue and he is ordered to pay the restitution owed before his community control expires on Sept. 10, 2024. When he pleaded in 2020 Jacobs had owed $11,560 in restitution.
Kazon L. Carter, 22, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was found to have violated the terms of his intervention plan, which is now dishonorably terminated. Carter was placed on community control, which will include serving up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center. Carter was convicted of possession of a fentanyl-related compound for drugs in his possession on Nov. 13, 2020.
Whitney J. Barnes, 36, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, pleaded guilty to theft of drugs, a fourth-degree felony, for taking clonazepam and lacosamide from the Opportunity Homes on May 10, 2019. She was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction and was placed on a three-year treatment plan.
Chelsea M. Krol, 23, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction, pleaded guilty to improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and was placed on a three year intervention plan. Krol had a loaded firearm in the vehicle on Aug. 1, 2021.
