MUNICIPAL COURT

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set April 14 for JonTay Johnson, 27, Franklin Avenue, Salem, charged with a third-degree felony for domestic violence for an incident April 5 in Salem. A pretrial was also set April 14 for obstructing official business. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Police had been called to the Franklin Avenue residence where the female victim alleged she was choked and her head was pushed into a wall, causing bruising. When police went to talk to Johnson, he allegedly fled on foot and failed to listen to commands to stop, and was located several blocks away and placed in custody.

George Faulkner Jr., 35, state Route 14, East Palestine, waived a preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to the grand jury for receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly being seen March 28 driving a Jeep stolen from Boardman.

Brandon Gust, 23, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, was ordered to serve 60 days in jail for numerous cases, including violating his probation for charges of obstructing official business and disorderly conduct from a 2021 case when he ran from police on Prospect Street in Salem. He was also fined $850 for charges of no temporary permit, traffic control devices, operating a vehicle under the influence 2nd offense, temporary permit required and obstruction of justice, amended from tampering with evidence. His license was suspended for two years.

A pretrial was set April 11 for Kelly Reed, 32, Sunset Drive, Wellsville, charged with assault for allegedly assaulting a man in the lower back area with a yellow garden took possibly a till on March 30 on Sunset Drive, Wellsville. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety and she was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

Tyler Cowan, 32, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $750, received a suspended jail term and was ordered to complete 40 hours community service for engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools. The charges stemmed from him answering an ad on a known escort website and requesting sexual acts in exchange for $180 from a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent posing as a female. He showed up at a prearranged meeting spot on Feb. 27 in East Palestine with a phone and a drug for the female to snort.

A pretrial was set April 14 for Tiffany Bolen, 40, Youngstown, charged with possession of a drug abuse instrument, possessing criminal tools and soliciting, with bond set at $5,000 cash or surety. An agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force responded to a posted ad on a known escort website for a female named Tiffany Bolen, arranging for a meeting in Salem on April 6 for sexual conduct in exchange for $220. Bolen allegedly had a hypodermic needle in her possession along with a cell phone to arrange the meeting.

A pretrial was set May 26 for Bradley Carpenter, 37, Lordstown, charged with resisting arrest for allegedly taking off running across a parking lot and through the woods when a deputy attempted to take him into custody on June 10, 2019 on a warrant.

Qamirr Woodley, Inez Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 for disorderly conduct amended from menacing. Another disorderly conduct charge was dismissed. He was also ordered to complete 10 hours of community service. The charges stemmed from Woodley entering Daw Middle School in Wellsville on Nov. 1 demanding to see the principal while a teacher and the school resource officer were in the office, yelling at everyone and refusing to calm down. He also made a threat to go find teachers and students allegedly bullying another student to deal with them.

A pretrial was set May 31 for Richard Davison Jr., 37, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, charged with obstruction of official business and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly jumping out of a vehicle as a deputy approached, being ordered back inside and possessing a baggie containing residue from a brown substance on April 10, 2020.

Justin Echols, 44, last known address Dakota Street, East Liverpool, waived a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the grand jury for failure to verify change of address for allegedly failing to report on March 1 that his home on Dakota Street had been condemned.

Scott Braidic, 46, Sebring, was fined $1,025, ordered to spend 10 days in jail and to complete 40 hours community service for operating a vehicle under the influence 2nd offense and speeding. His license was suspended for two years, with driving privileges granted.

Scott Powell Jr., 41, Darlington, Pa., was fined $1,100 for driving under suspension, failure to control, failure to stop after an accident and obstructing official business, with a citation for no seat belt dismissed. His probation for an previous endangering children charge was terminated and he was ordered to serve 45 days in jail at the same time as a 22-day sentence for the traffic charges.

Thomas Rankin, 62, St. Jacob-Logtown Road, Leetonia, was fined $1,350, ordered to spend 30 days in jail and ordered to complete 40 hours community service for operating a vehicle under the influence, amended from a 3rd offense to a 2nd offense, and speeding. His license was suspended for three years with driving privileges granted.

Alex Fluharty, 31, Center Street, Leetonia, was fined $150 for possession of drugs for possessing marijuana on Dec. 21. A charge of possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

Mariela Gomez, 23, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $1,225, sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days for a driving program and ordered to complete 30 hours community service for failure to stop after an accident, material on roadway, failure to control, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia. Her license was suspended for 180 days.

Brian Wilson, 35, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, was fined $975, sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days for a driving program, and ordered to complete 20 hours community service for OVI and marked lanes. His license was suspended for a year, with driving privileges granted.

A pretrial was set June 9 for Brandon Thomas, 36, Salem Grange Road, Salem, charged with OVI 2nd offense, OVI refusal with prior within 20 years, driving under suspension and speeding.

Steven Kirkpatrick, 39, Steubenville, was fined $280 for driving under suspension and no seat belt.

Ali Damico Muhammad Jr., 27, Youngstown, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

William Stull, 29, Vale Street, Salineville, was fined $150 for speeding.

Jamie Swanson, 42, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.

Richard Davison, 37, Clarks Mill Road, Salineville, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

Anton Trarick, 42, Canton, was fined $300 for driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set June 9 for Brian Hands, 38, Mattix Road, Lisbon, charged with failure to stop after an accident and left of center.

A pretrial was set May 17 for Joshua Board, 31, Grant Street, Lisbon, charged with driving under suspension and left of center.
