LISBON — A Wellsville man pleaded guilty as charged in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for his actions during a domestic violence incident on June 15 in Wellsville when he struck a woman in the face.

Patrick Murphy, 38, Clark Avenue, entered the guilty plea to domestic violence, a third-degree felony, obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony, and misdemeanors of criminal damaging or endangering and resisting arrest. Sentencing was set for Oct. 21.

Murphy punched Kimberly Martin in the face and rib cage, refused to respond to deputies yelling and knocking at the door and resisted arrest when they were taking him into custody. According to the indictment, he had previously pleaded guilty or was convicted of three previous domestic violence offenses. He also caused damage to Martin’s vehicle and physical harm to Deputy Jesse Smith while resisting arrest.

Also in Common Pleas Court, a two-count indictment for domestic violence, a third-degree felony, against Donald Quimby Jr., 52, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was dismissed based on a motion from the prosecution. The motion sought the dismissal due to the defendant’s incurable illness and inability to communicate. The victim did not object. The indictment dated back to 2018 and Quimby became ill between the indictment and his arrest in 2022.

Justin Lamp, 44, Foundry Hill Road, Summitville, was sentenced to 11 months in prison for breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, for breaking into a garage belonging to Eugene Prendergast on Dec. 15, 2021 on Knox School Road, West Township. A jury had returned a guilty verdict for the charge. Lamp received credit for 153 days served.

Jeremiah Burnette, 34, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, pleaded guilty to engaging in prostitution and was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended and credit for 20 days already served, leaving 10 days to serve in the county jail. The sex for hire case occurred on Nov. 6, 2021.

Audrey Wylie, 38, Youngstown, was sentenced to 60 days in jail after her community control for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a fifth-degree felony, was dishonorably terminated for violations. The unauthorized use took place from Sept. 17, 2020 to Sept. 20, 2020 and involved a vehicle belonging to David Hughes.

Daniel Reed, 35, Charlton Drive, Lisbon, was sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating the terms of his community control for felony charges of trafficking marijuana, two counts, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs. The charges stemmed from March 2018 and involved marijuana and tetrahydrocannabinol.

Lyle Foster, 33, whose last known address was East Liverpool and homeless, was placed under community control for three years and received credit for 104 days already served in jail for three felony counts of failure to provide notice of change of address and two counts of falsification. As a sex offender, he’s required to verify and report any change of address and failed to do so in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and gave false statements to investigators in 2019.

Christina Coil, 44, West Main Street, Salineville, was placed under community control for three years for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony for possessing drugs in 2021.

In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, a Middlefield man accused of making sex for hire arrangements last year was sentenced to nine months in prison, with credit for 95 days served.

David Lechene, 61, Middlefield, appeared for sentencing on two counts of attempted compelling prostitution, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony. Besides the prison time, he was also deemed a Tier II sex offender, requiring him to register his address with the sheriff’s office of the county where he’s residing every 90 days for life.

Lechene solicited sexual conduct from an undercover agent posing online as two 16-year-old foster home runaways in exchange for $80 and the purchase of groceries. He arrived in East Palestine on May 12, 2021 for the meeting.

Also in common pleas court, a status hearing was set Dec. 5 for Robert C. Koch III, 39, Steubenville, on a charge of trespass in a habitation, a fourth-degree felony. Koch was accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment through a bathroom window on Aug. 29, 2021 after he had previously been told not to return to her Salem home. The court approved a payment of not more than $3,250 for a second psychiatric evaluation requested by the defense using a psychiatric expert. An initial evaluation found Koch presently competent, but noted symptoms of severe mental disease.
