LISBON REPORTS
- Officers responded to a North Market Street business at 10:13 a.m. Friday where a driver reported someone had blocked her in at the gas pump and was rude with her when she said something to him. Officers spoke with the other person and had him move his vehicle, which resulted in an altercation. He was given a warning for disorderly conduct.
- A North Market Street resident reported at 7:23 a.m. Friday a woman had been evicted from her apartment and was trying to stay with him against his will. Officers responded to the home and advised the woman she was not welcome there. She moved her belongings to the yard and said someone would be coming to pick her up.
- A caller reported at 11:54 a.m. Oct. 2 her adult son was living with her and would become physically and mentally abusive. She was advised to call police when an incident occurred and told to contact the courts to start the eviction process.
SALEM REPORTS
- James C. Vint, 22, Salem, was cited for no motorcycle license and a safety equipment violation following a traffic stop at South Union Avenue and Maple Street at 4:26 p.m. Saturday.
- An officer responded to the 500 block of Columbia Street at 9:32 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported her ex is harassing her via social media. The matter is under investigation.
- Officers responded to the 300 block of Woodland Avenue at 2:16 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported hearing what sounded like two animals fighting and hissing in her basement. Officers checked the basement but did not hear anything.
- Officers responded to the 100 block of Vine Avenue at 10:27 p.m. Friday where a resident reported someone outside his neighbor's house who had dropped a credit card, so he thought the person was trying to break into the home. Officers spoke to the neighbor who said he knew the person in question and he was not trying to break into the home. The complainant returned the credit card to the person.
- Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 9:58 p.m. Friday where a woman reported someone against whom she has a protection order was trying to gain access to her email and that it was not the first time it has happened. The matter will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office for review.
- Officers responded to the 600 block of Woodland Avenue at 9:27 p.m. Friday where a resident reported people trespassing in the home behind her. The people in question said they had been evicted that morning, but had until midnight to collect their belongings. They said the belongings were outside and they did not need to go inside the home.
- Officers responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Fifth Street at 6:25 p.m. Friday in reference to a suspicious person sprinting then falling over in random yards. Officers checked the area but were unable to find the person in question.
- Officers responded to the 800 block of West Pershing Street at 6:02 p.m. Friday after a caller reported a man living at her former residence had received a check in her name. The man in question was advised to contact the caller since the check is in her name. Both were advised it is a civil matter and to find a way to meet due to the caller being trespassed from the property.
- Eileen R. Bates, 85, Salem, was cited for failure to yield following a two-vehicle crash in the 100 block of Vine Avenue at 4:50 p.m. Friday in which she was northbound and attempted to turn left onto an ally, striking the front of an eastbound vehicle driven by Alicia M. Montgomery, 33, Salem, who was stopped at the stop sign. No injuries were reported.
- Officers responded to the 300 block of West Ninth Street at 1:13 p.m. Friday where a woman reported being assaulted by another woman she knows while at a 400 block South Broadway Avenue business the previous evening, during which her cell phone was broken. Officers will review video from the business and the matter will be sent to the prosecutor's office for possible charges.
- Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fifth Street at 11:11 a.m. Friday in reference to a welfare check and spoke with a mother and son separately. Officers found there had been no threats made, just a difference opinion regarding some health issues.
- Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street at 10:11 a.m. Friday where a juvenile reported someone had taken his bike without his knowledge or permission. He was advised of his options.
- An officer responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 8:14 a.m. Friday where a resident reported a window on her house and a window on her vehicle had been damaged.
- A Lexington Avenue resident reported at 7:25 a.m. Friday receiving multiple phone calls and voice messages from someone against whom she has a protection order. The matter is under investigation.
PERRY TOWNSHIP REPORTS
-- Officers responded to the Freshmark Parking lot at 12:38 a.m. Friday for a reported assault involving threats with a firearm. Officers spoke with the victim who said he had been assaulted by his co-worker who officers identified as Erick Jesus, 30, of Youngstown. It was advised by both individuals that they were having issues all day during work and as they were leaving they got into an altercation where Jesus struck Gonzales in the face. A firearm was located in Jesus' vehicle; however, Gonzales said it was not pointed at him at all. Officers took the firearm for safekeeping. Due to Gonzales wishing to pursue charges officers took Jesus into custody for assault and transported him to the Perry Township Police Department for processing and then transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the area of U.S. Route 62 at 12:24 a.m. Friday for a reported reckless operator. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Benton Road at 7:39 p.m. Thursday for a speak with officer report. The caller said he believed his neighbor's kids had dug around some survey stakes that he had around his property line. The caller also said that he didn't see them do it. The officer spoke with the neighbor who said he was out of town and wasn't aware of anyone digging around the stakes.
-- Officers responded to the area of Cunningham Road at 9:52 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man walking in the roadway carrying a stick. Officers spoke to the man who was standing at the intersection of Cunningham Road and state Route 344. The man advised he was just walking home to his residence. The man was advised to stay off the roadway and to walk on the side of the road, and he went on his way.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Goshen Road at 7:34 for a report of three male juveniles that had been involved in an earlier incident standing in the yard. Officers located the juveniles and instructed them to cease their actions and had their parents come pick them up. All juveniles were picked up and their parents were made aware of the incident.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Overlook Road at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that she had been unable to contact her brother and was concerned. Officers were able to contact the brother who said he was fine and that he had changed phones and his number changed and that he would contact his sister.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Main Street at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic disturbance. Officers separated both parties and spoke with them; however, the victim would not cooperate and give their side of the incident so officers obtained a written statement from the other involved party.
-- Officers spoke to a woman by phone at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday who said her son's grandmother would not stop calling her and threatening to show up at her home if she was not allowed to see her grandson. Officers advised the caller to block the grandmother and advised her to cease contact, and that if she wanted to have visitation to do it the correct way through the courts.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of West State Street at 5:52 p.m. for a report of a combative resident. Officers arrived on scene and KLG was able to calm the resident and transport her to the Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Pine Lake Road at 2:53 p.m. Monday for a report of a stolen trailer. The caller said that he arrived at his property that day and found his black 18-foot-long Appalachian trailer was taken from his property. The caller did not have any information on the trailer and said he would contact the department when he obtained the information.
