Salem

--Officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Oak Street at 11:11 p.m. Wednesday for a dispute. The caller advised that she and another person had been in a verbal altercation and that he had left with their child. The caller advised that she has full custody of the child and wanted the child back. Officers observed the caller to be intoxicated and asked her if she would be able to have someone sober watch the child. She advised that she would be able to get a hold of someone. Officers spoke with the other party who advised that there had been a verbal altercation, and he had left with the child due to their intoxication. They returned the child home and the caller's grandmother arrived to look after the child.

--Officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Cleveland Street at 9:18 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a recovered bicycle. The caller advised that a man had attempted to sell him the bicycle then left it in the front yard. The fire department responded and transported the bicycle.

--Officers responded to the 600 block of East Euclid Street at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday for a possible sex offense. Officers obtained information from the caller and advised them that detectives would be notified and would be in contact.

--Officers responded to the 300 block of Highland Avenue at 6:59 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised the vehicle was driving slowly past a woman walking in the area and that the woman appeared uncomfortable, before leaving northbound. Officers checked the area, but the vehicle was not located.

--Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Mahoning Valley human Trafficking Task Force with taking a man into custody for an alleged sex offense. The man was transported to the police department where the Task Force Agent served him with a summons prior to release.

--Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday regarding a custody issue. The caller advised that the other party had not followed the custody agreement outlined by the courts and that she just needed it documented.

--Officers responded to the 300 block of Park Avenue at 4:56 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile issue. The caller advised that several juveniles were writing on the pavilion walls with markers but did not provide a description. Officers were unable to locate the juveniles in question due to the number of juveniles in the park at that time.

--Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday regarding alleged sex offenses that occurred at several locations in the city. The information will be forwarded to detectives.

--Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 11:19 a.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic dispute in progress. Officers spoke with both people involved who advised the incident was verbal only. Officers advised the pair of the consequences should their actions continue.

--Officers responded to Walgreen's at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday for a possible scam. The caller advised that he was made aware of a person possibly being scammed. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that he was there to buy a gift card for a woman he met on Facebook. Officers advised them it was most likely a scam and not to proceed with the transaction, and not to provide them with any personal information. Officers also advised them to block the woman on all social media platforms.

--Officers responded to the 100 block of Broadway Avenue at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious object. The caller advised that there were work gloves on the ground in front of their vehicle with what appeared to be blood on them. Officers collected the gloves, determining the substance not to be blood. The gloves were disposed of.

--Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 6:19 a.m. Wednesday for a reported 911-hang-up-call. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the source of the call.

Perry Township

--Officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday for a noise complaint. Officers spoke with the individual causing the noise who advised they were playing video games and yelling on their headset and would keep the noise down.

--Officers responded to the 1300 block of West State Street at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a missing laptop. The caller advised that a friend had been staying with them for a few days and had taken his laptop when they left. Officers were able to make contact with the friend and arrange for the laptop to be returned.

--Officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday for a juvenile complaint. The caller advised that his and a neighbor's child had been playing when one child struck the other. Officers spoke with both parents and resolved the matter.

--Rebecca Flores, 75, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after her westbound vehicle at the intersection of Georgetown Road and state Route 45 failed to yield at the intersection causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven northbound on state Route 45 by Lori Todd, 52, Salem, which then struck a stopped vehicle driven by Amy Bowen, 58, Salem, at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday. Bowen and her passenger were transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT for treatment.

--Aphdin Cadile, 28, Salem was cited for expired registration after his northbound vehicle on U.S. Route 62 failed to stop, striking the rear of a vehicle stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of U.S. Route 62 and state Route 14, driven by Melissa Pitts, 52, Hartstown, Pennsylvania at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday. Pitts claimed to have shoulder pain but declined treatment.

--Officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Elberon Avenue at 9:42 p.m. Monday for a loud music complaint. Officers searched the area and sat stationary in the area for a while, but no music was heard.

--Officers responded to the area of Taylor Avenue and Michigan boulevard at 8:37 p.m. Monday for a report of a sick raccoon. Officers searched the area but could not locate any sick animals.
