-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Barclay Avenue at 3:03 a.m. Wednesday for a medical call. The caller advised he had recently been released from the hospital and was currently having serious anxiety and paranoia. The man requested to be transported to the hospital and EMT arrived and transported the man to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue for a report of juveniles running through yards. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.
-- Officers on patrol in the area of East Pershing Street and Ohio Avenue at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday located a juvenile reported missing a few hours prior. Officers made contact with the juvenile and placed him under arrest for an unruly offense and transported him back to the police department where he was released to his parent.
-- Officers responded to the area of East Fifth Street at 11:19 p.m. Tuesday for a report of people walking through the area with flashlights. Officers checked the area for the individuals.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fifth Street at 10:58 p.m. Tuesday for a report of someone repeatedly contacting her claiming to be from AAA and requesting her to come outside. Officers checked the area around the residence and did not locate anyone.
-- Officers responded to the Center Plex parking lot at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a traffic incident involving multiple motorcycles. Officers found that three motorcycles were riding together north on North Ellsworth Avenue, two of which were involved in an accident. One rider, Cody Saunders, 29, Youngstown, had fallen behind the other two riders and accelerated in excess of the speed limit to catch up to his friends, losing control of the bike in the process and laying it down on its side, skidding into the back of a bike driven by Jacob Bowman Sr., 30, Youngstown, causing damage to both motorcycles. Saunders had visible injuries in several areas but refused treatment. Further investigation found Saunders had been consuming alcohol and he was taken into custody. Officers also found Bowman had been consuming alcohol and placed him under arrest. Arrangements were made for the motorcycles to be picked up by the third rider, and photos were taken of the crash scene on the roadway and also of the damage to the motorcycles. Both arrestees were transported to the police department for processing. On station both men refused to provide breath samples and had their licenses suspended. Bowman was cited for OVI and failure to transfer plates. Saunders was cited for OVI, no motorcycle endorsement and reasonable control.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of East State Street at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile cut his ankle monitor off and snuck out the window. The caller filled out a missing juvenile form and they were entered into LEADS. The caller also advised they would be contacting his probation officer.
-- Officers responded to the area of East State Street and Union Avenue at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious man. Officers located the man who was struggling to walk and stumbling south on South Union Avenue and struggled to stand and speak with officers. The man advised that he had taken LSD an hour before, and EMT was requested to respond and transported the man to the Salem Regional Medical Center.
-- Officers responded to the 1800 block of Cleveland Street at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a juvenile complaint. The caller advised that her juvenile daughter was upset that she could not use her cell phone and began threatening her. While officers were on scene the juvenile, whose name was not listed, made more threats of physical harm toward her mother and was arrested for a delinquency offense, transported to the police department for processing and later transported to the Tobin Center.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Whinnery Road at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday for a trespass complaint. The caller advised that a neighbor had been entering her property to collect sticks, and that she had told him to stop coming onto her property. Officers attempted to speak to the neighbor but were unable to make contact.
-- Officers on patrol in the 2800 block of East State Street at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday observed a man walking near a store with merchandise. While talking with the man officers found he needed assistance and peer support was contacted and assisted him.
-- Officers responded to the area of Waterworth Memorial Park at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Park Drive at 2:21 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers were unable to contact the person in question.
-- Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 1:02 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a juvenile. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person or vehicle in question.
-- Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 8:54 a.m. Tuesday for a report of two children left unattended in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and found the children's mother had returned. Officers spoke with the mother about the incident, and she was advised the information would be sent to the prosecutor's office for review of possible charges and to children services.
-- Officers responded to the 1500 block of Merle Road at 1:01 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a runaway juvenile. Officers spoke with the parents who provided potential locations to check for the juvenile. Officers were unable to locate the juvenile and entered them into LEADS as missing.
-- Officers returned to the 100 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:38 p.m. Monday for a report of possible threats. All parties involved were advised not to have contact for the rest of the evening. All parties involved were given a warning for disorderly conduct.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:16 p.m. for a possible fight. All parties involved advised nothing physical had occurred and neither person claimed to be threatened nor wanted to fill out a written statement when given the option.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 9:36 p.m. Monday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that her juvenile daughter was outside in her yard playing basketball when she observed a man filming her. The caller advised her daughter ran into the home and by the time they went back outside the man was fleeing eastbound. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 8:48 p.m. Monday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised that the neighbor had yelled at her for putting up a fence. Both parties were advised not to have contact with each other.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 6:17 p.m. Monday for a reported assault. Officers spoke with the involved parties who advised a man had slapped the arm of another man. Both parties advised they did not want to press charges and were advised to keep a distance from each other for the rest of the night.
-- Officers responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Tenth Street at 5:43 p.m. Monday for a report of tree limbs in the roadway. Officers observed no limbs in the roadway.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of West State Street at 5:38 p.m. Monday for an animal complaint. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the animal.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 5:36 p.m. Monday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised their neighbor had gone onto her property and showed officers pictures of the neighbor's power washing the side of her garage. Officers advised both parties it was a civil matter.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 2200 block of East State Street at 5:16 p.m. Monday for a report of an unwanted man. Employees advised that a man was offering to trade drugs for food. Consent was given to search his belongings with no contraband found. The man was notified he was being trespassed from the property.
-- Officers assisted the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with taking a man into custody. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the police department for processing, and $84 was seized as evidence.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Eleventh Street at 3:57 p.m. Monday for report of a possibly intoxicated driver. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of West 16th Street at 3:41 p.m. Monday for a neighbor dispute. The report had nothing criminal occurring and the incident had occurred at least an hour prior to officers being called.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 12:22 p.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised that she had observed a woman shove a man at the residence. Officers spoke with both parties who advised they had been in a verbal argument and the woman had pushed the man out of her way while exiting the residence. The man did not have any marks and did not wish to pursue any charges. Both parties were advised of the domestic violence laws and the female half advised she was going to leave the residence.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Fair Avenue at 10:28 a.m. Monday for a civil matter. The caller advised he had given items to a person he knew to pawn, and now he can't get the items out of the pawn shop because he cannot locate the pawn ticket and the person will not go get the items out. The man was advised of his options.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of West Sixteenth Street at 7:08 a.m. Monday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised their neighbor keeps coming onto their property after being asked not to. The caller also advised the neighbor is throwing trash onto her property. Officers spoke with the neighbor who denied coming onto the property and denied throwing any trash. The neighbor was trespassed from the caller's property.
PERRY TOWNSHIP
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of Stewart Road at 6:21 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man soliciting. The man had already left the area prior to officers' arrival.
-- Corey Householder, 34, Kensington, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his northbound vehicle on state Route 9 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Loran Weingart, 80, Salem, at 11:18 a.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fourteenth Street at 6:16 a.m. Sunday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with a man who was advised of the complaint.
-- Officers assisted Salem officers at 4:11 a.m. Sunday by contacting a man's mother to transport him home from the city.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of West Pigeon Road at 11:24 a.m. Saturday for a report of property damage. The caller advised that the company paving the road has been parking equipment in her yard without approval and has caused significant damage to her yard. Officers collected the caller's information and will follow up with the paving company to resolve the matter.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Plymouth Place at 8:54 a.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller advised that her nephew had taken some jewelry from her home while he was helping with yard work. The caller provided officers with a receipt from a pawn shop in Austintown where the stolen jewelry was taken. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers on patrol in the area of the U.S. Route 62 and state Route 45 at 3:03 a.m. Saturday located a crashed vehicle driven by Justin Ramsey, 27, North Lima. Ramsey was arrested on scene for assault of police officers, obstruction of official business, failure to control, driving under suspension and OVI.
-- Lisa Staling, 56, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her vehicle on Benton Road struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Brittany Soules, 26, Salem, at 7:22 p.m. Friday. Both drivers refused treatment on scene from EMS and the fire department.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Stewart Road at 4:43 p.m. Friday for a report of fraud. The caller advised his computer was being hacked and he had purchased two bitcoins as instructed by the hacker. A report was taken and the caller was advised of his options.
-- Officers spoke with a man at the police department at 1:10 p.m. July 20 for a report of fraud. The man advised he had received an email from PayPal claiming he had purchased Bitcoin for $860.90 and when he called the listed number, a man named Peter directed him to go around to different places to purchase gift cards totaling $2,380 in value. The caller gave the numbers off the cards to the man before realizing it was a scam and contacting his bank.
-- Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 7:01 a.m. July 20 who advised she had found a chiropractor in Sharon, Pennsylvania off a television advertisement and that she had paid them $12,000 for treatment. The caller said that after a few treatments she was not happy and her problem still continued so she asked for her money back and the doctor's office refused to refund her the money. Officers advised her to contact an attorney.
-- Officers responded to the area of Benton Road for a report of a reckless driver at 5:13 a.m. July 19. Officers observed the vehicle going off the roadway when turning left and conducted a traffic stop, finding the driver, whose name was not listed, to be unfit to drive.
-- Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:18 p.m. July 18 for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the residents and determined everything was okay.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 12:19 p.m. July 18 for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised that her neighbor was outside screaming and yelling at her, claiming her youngest son was trying to stab one of her kids with a pocketknife. Officers found after speaking with everyone that the child was only showing the kids his brother's pocketknife. The caller gave officers the pocketknife for safekeeping so that there would be no further issues.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 2:58 a.m. July 18 for a wellness check. Officers were unable to make contact at the residence but were later advised that everything was okay and they were sleeping.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Brittany Lane at 7:46 p.m. July 17 for a report of juveniles riding their bikes on the road. Officers patrolled the area for several minutes but were unable to locate anyone riding bikes on the roadway.
EAST PALESTINE
-- An East Clark Street resident reported at 5:09 a.m. to report her wife was being belligerent on Tuesday.
-- A male reported at 9:57 p.m. that he had been assaulted at the Family Dollar on East Taggart Street on Monday.
-- Officers responded at 1:54 p.m. to North Market Street to a report of a suicidal female who had harmed herself on Monday. An ambulance crew rendered first aid and transported the women to the hospital for treatment and evaluation.
-- A theft was reported at 9:12 a.m. on Kemple Drive on Monday.
-- A female made a report at the station at 7:06 p.m. on Sunday that she was being harassed by an individual known to her via social media.
-- Officers responded at 6:43 p.m. to Alice Street for an animal complaint involving possible dog neglect on Sunday. Officers made contact with the resident and no neglect was found.
-- A village resident reported at 5:02 p.m. on Saturday that a safe which contained documents had been stolen from a home.
-- A village resident reported at 1:37 p.m. on Saturday damage to a tree on his property.
-- A couple contacted the station at 1:30 p.m. regarding division of property in a divorce. They were advised the court would handle property division and that law enforcement is not involved.
-- Mark Culley, no age or address given, was cited for OVI, no tail lights, no motorcycle endorsement and fictitious plate following a traffic stop on East Taggart Street at 10:56 p.m. on Thursday.
-- Security working East Taggart Street reported at 4:29 p.m. on Thursday that a motorcycle ran through a checkpoint and nearly struck an employee.
