SALEM
-- Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 11:09 p.m. Sunday for a large group of people to be removed from the property. Officers spoke with the people, advising them of the complaint, and they advised they would leave
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of South Avenue at 8:02 p.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious man entering the property. Officers spoke with the man, Joshua Jesiolowski, 31, who was instantly detained due to his demeanor, and the fire department and EMT responded. Jesiolowski was undetained and was being transported to the hospital by EMT when he began destroying property within the ambulance and attacked medical personnel. Jesiolowski then exited the ambulance and ran up to the police cruiser and attempted to fight officers. Officers took him into custody after further resistance and placed him in the back of the cruiser while he continued resisting. During this time Jesiolowski had managed to work his hands in front of him and free one hand. During the fight Jesiolowski was OC sprayed and tased. Once secured Jesiolowski was transported to the hospital by the fire department and EMT transported one officer to the Salem hospital while another EMT unit transported a second officer to Saint Elizebeth's Hospital. Jesiolowski was charged with criminal damaging, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and felonious assault.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Washington Avenue at 4:53 p.m. Sunday for a report of unauthorized use. When officers arrived, the caller refused to sign a stolen/unauthorized use form and pursue anything further.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 3:27 p.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers spoke with the caller and took possession of the items in question.
-- Officers responded to the 2200 block of Oak Street at 2:15 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were fine.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 2700 block of East State Street at 6:19 a.m. Sunday for a report of two people causing a disturbance. Officers spoke with an employee who advised that the person in question had left prior to officers arriving on scene. Officers advised them to contact them if the people returned.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 1:24 a.m. Sunday for a report of people to be removed. Employees advised that three men were in the pool area intoxicated and destroying property. The men were located behind the building and were advised of the complaint. Officers observed the damages and escorted the men to their rooms to gather their belongings and they left the premises with their boss.
-- Officers on patrol on East Pershing Street at 10:57 p.m. Saturday conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration and equipment violation. The driver, Ashley Miller, 34, was advised of the reason for the stop and issued a citation for driving under suspension.
-- Officers checked a business in the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue at 9:18 p.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious activity. Employees were still working when officers arrived.
-- Officers on patrol in the 300 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 8:09 p.m. Saturday observed a wanted person. Officers stopped the person, Timothy Lodge, 34, Salem, and confirmed the warrant, taking him into custody and transporting him to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the 2900 block of East State Street at 7:35 p.m. Saturday for a reported reckless driver. The caller advised that the vehicle was swerving in the roadway before entering the parking lot of Home Depot. Officers spoke with the man, determining him not be impaired and advising him to drive home safely.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 5:24 p.m. Saturday regarding a previous incident. Officers were able to obtain a written statement.
-- Officers responded to the 1900 block of East Pershing Street at 4:51 p.m. Saturday for a report of debris in the roadway. Officers located the object, which was a drain cover, and were able to place the cover back over the drain.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 4:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a bicycle stolen from Waterworth Memorial Park. The bike's information was collected, and officers will be on the lookout for the stolen bicycle.
-- Officers on patrol responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue with the fire department at 3:46 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person that had fallen. Officers stood by until no longer needed.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Fair Avenue at 1:06 p.m. Saturday to attempt to make contact with a city resident on behalf of the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office. Officers were unable to contact the person in question.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 12:40 p.m. Saturday for a reported assault. The caller advised he had gone to the residence to confront the resident about a late fee he had caused at the library under the caller's name, and that the two had gotten into a physical altercation over the matter. Officers spoke with the resident who advised that the physical altercation had occurred, but it had been because the caller entered his residence uninvited and unannounced. Neither party wanted to pursue any charges and officers advised them to stay away from one another.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Prospect Street at 11:58 a.m. Saturday for a reported breaking and entering. Officers found the rear door of the property to be kicked in and a witness advised several juveniles had run from the building prior to officer's arrival. Due to the circumstance's officers notified a detective who responded to the scene, and three juveniles were subsequently arrested, with two transported to the Tobin Center.
COLUMBIANA
-- Officers responded at 2:15 p.m. to Lisbon Street to a medical call of a man being trapped under a truck on July 24.
-- Officers responded at 5:47 p.m. to the American Legion parking lot to a disturbance between two males on July 24.
-- Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle for failing to display registration at 9:29 p.m. on Tuesday. The motorcycle failed to comply and took off at a high rate of speed north on state Route 7. Officers terminated the pursuit near Garfield Road when the motorcycle was no longer in sight.
-- Willie Oliver, 45, Hubbard, was cited for driving under suspension during a traffic stop in the R&L parking lot at 5:39 p.m. Wednesday.
-- Officers took a report at 1 p.m. at the station on Friday for unemployment fraud.
-- Officers took a report at 2:10 p.m. on Friday at the station of identity theft.
-- Officers spoke to a complainant at 4 pm. on Friday at the station concerning a civil matter. The complainant was advised of their options.
-- Jeffrey Mellott, 35, Salem, was arrested on an active warrant during a traffic stop on state Route 14 at Arby's at 6:27 p.m. on Friday. Mellott was later transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- An officer attempted to perform a traffic stop at 7:42 p.m. on Friday with a motorcycle on state Route 46 when the driver fled. For public safety, the pursuit was terminated. An investigation is ongoing.
LISBON
-- Officers were called at 9:43 p.m. Saturday to Fleming House, Rose Drive, for a suspicious person knocking on windows, but found no one.
-- A passerby reported hearing gunshots near the fairgrounds off of Saltwell Road at 7:45 p.m. Saturday. Nothing was found.
-- A deputy met Leetonia police at the entrance to the fairgrounds at 3:18 p.m. Saturday to assist when they needed to adjust the handcuffs on a male they were transporting.
-- Police responded at 1:18 p.m. Saturday to a residence on state Route 517 for narcotics located by a man cleaning after another person had been kicked out a week and a half ago. A pill bottle with residue had fallen out of the person's shirt. The man turned over the pill bottle, which contained what appeared to be crack cocaine. The suspected narcotics were marked for destruction.
-- An officer responded to Saltwell Road at 9:35 a.m. Saturday for a welfare check after a caller reported an older man driving a white pickup was driving slow and then pulled over with his four-ways on and looked confused. The vehicle was not found.
-- Residents on Cherry Street reported at 9:04 p.m. Thursday that they've been getting harassed by a man. One of the residents said he just won custody of his child and he's been getting harassed by the man, who is the boyfriend of the mother. He was told to stop responding and go to the courts for telecommunications harassment if the man doesn't stop. Screenshots of what he's been sending were being provided to police. The officer planned to contact him and tell him to stop or charges will be filed.
-- A downed tree and lines were reported at the parking lot of the Akron Children's office on North Market Street at 7:25 a.m. Thursday. The tree was found on the property of a vacant home and the lines were just telephone lines and not a safety risk. The tree was far enough away so that people could still enter the parking lot.
-- Officers were called at HEAP office on Dickey Drive at 3:31 a.m. Thursday for a man looking through the windows of the building. The elderly man said he was waiting for the office to open and was early for everything. He didn't want to cause any problems and got back into his truck to wait until the office opened in the morning.
-- A man reported at 7:30 p.m. July 26 that he wanted to call his sister for a ride to her house and he was concerned about their brother, who barricaded himself in his house on East Lincoln Way. He said they were having conflict and wanted officers to go check on him. Police arrived and the brother said everything was okay and that he barricaded the door because of the lock and said he told his bother he was going to do that. He apologized if he locked him out.
-- Police responded at 5:40 p.m. July 26 to the Community Action Agency CARTS building, Jackson Street, for an alarm. All the doors and windows were secured and locked, but a garage door was unlocked. A building search was done when the key holder arrived. The building was secure.
