-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday for a report of two people walking through the caller's backyard. Officers checked the surrounding streets, but nobody could be located.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 1700 block of East State Street at 9:03 p.m. Tuesday for a reported theft. The caller advised a man was seen taking a bottle of liquor and placing it inside his jacket before leaving without paying. Officers spoke with the man, Christian Hall, 27, Salem, who admitted to taking the bottle, which officers located on his person. The product was returned to the business and management confirmed they wanted to pursue charges. Hall was taken into custody and transported to the police department for processing and then transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a woman that looked unwell. Officers spoke with the woman who advised that everything was okay and no assistance was needed.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unattended dog left in a vehicle with the windows up. The animal appeared to be in good health, and the external temperature was 65 degrees, overcast and raining and presented no danger to the animal's health. Officers attempted contact with the owner of the vehicle to advise them of the complaint but were unable to locate them.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East Sixth Street at 5:18 p.m. Tuesday for a report of vandalism. The caller advised that a neighbor witnessed the incident and reported it to the school. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers spoke with a man at the police department at 4:07 p.m. Tuesday about a possible scam. The caller advised that he was sent a fax from a law firm claiming they could help him get money he was owed but in order to do so the caller had to send them $10,000 as a retainer. Officers advised him that it was most likely a scam. The man had not sent any money.
-- Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 4:16 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers observed a man standing near the roadway with a sign asking for money. Officers contacted the man and advised him of the complaint, and he advised he would leave for the day.
-- Officers were advised by an anonymous motorist that they had observed a business vehicle of a local company commit a blatant red-light violation at the intersection of East State Street and Cunningham Road at 3:34 p.m. Tuesday. Officers will contact the company to advise them of the complaint and request the drivers be advised to be more attentive.
-- Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Franklin Avenue at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an intoxicated driver that was witnessed consuming open containers of suspected alcoholic beverages. Officers checked both South Lincoln and South Ellsworth Avenue but were unable to locate the vehicle.
-- Officers responded to the 1600 block of East State Street at 10:51 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that a man was walking around the building and sitting in the grass on the property, and when the caller asked the man to leave, he became aggressive and started yelling. Officers spoke with the man who was walking east on State Street and advised him of the complaint and that he was trespassed from the property.
-- Officers at 9 a.m. Tuesday spoke with a man at the intersection of West State Street and Georgetown Road that had been observed walking on Georgetown Road toward the city the night prior. The man advised he was from Stark County and was walking with an unknown destination. Officers offered the man assistance in getting to his destination or with any problems he might be having, which he refused. No warrants for the man were found and he departed on foot.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 7:41 a.m. Tuesday on behalf of the street department for a parking issue. It was advised they were about to work on the road and needed a motorcycle moved. Officers spoke with the owner of the motorcycle who advised he would move it.
-- Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue and East Seventh Street at 6:32 a.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious objects in the roadway. Officers observed a towel rack, baby gate and a bag of tree branches in the roadway, which officers removed.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of South Union Avenue at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a gunshot heard. Officers checked the area but located nothing out of the ordinary.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a loose dog. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the dog.
-- Officers responded to the industrial park at 10:38 p.m. Monday to assist Perry Township officers with an OVI crash. Perry Township officers took the driver into custody for OVI and transported him to the police department where officers assisted by conducting a breath test.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 10:44 p.m. Monday to speak with a person regarding an ongoing harassment issue at their place of employment. The person was advised that a report would be on file and to contact officers if anything further was needed.
-- Officers responded to the 1800 block of Meadow Lane at 10:03 p.m. Monday for a report of multiple people heard screaming. Officers found the incident to be two juveniles outside playing around.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:52 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised multiple people were in the parking lot after closing hours acting irregularly. Officers spoke with the caller further and found the people in question had left. The caller was advised to contact officers if they returned.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Ninth Street at 8:48 p.m. Monday for a domestic dispute. Officers found that the involved parties had gotten into a verbal altercation and nothing physical had occurred. The female half left the residence for the remainder of the evening.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:09 p.m. Monday for a report of harassment. The caller advised a person they knew had been yelling profanities and purposely honking a bicycle horn in a malicious way when riding past the caller. The caller advised that this has been an ongoing issue and had just wished for the incident to be documented.
-- The school resource officer was advised of an issue that occurred earlier in the day at Southeast Elementary at 6:58 p.m. Monday. The officer responded to the student in question's residence and spoke with him and his parents about the issue. The student advised he understood the seriousness of the issue and apologized for the incident and the parents were advised that his backpack would be checked in the morning.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department about a possibly missing person at 4:57 p.m. Monday. After speaking with the caller, it was determined that the person in question was not missing and walked away from his place of work on his own.
-- Officers spoke to several parents at the police department at 4:50 p.m. Monday regarding an ongoing issue of their children being harassed and menaced by a known male student at the same school. A related incident had already occurred earlier that day and a history of ongoing issues with the student in question. Officers advised that the reports would be researched, and a case file would be generated to verify if necessary, elements were present for a menacing by stalking charge. Officers further advised the juvenile victims to keep their phone handy to call police if the student in question or associates cause any sort of problem. Any further incidents will be added to the case to establish elements required for criminal charges if not already present, and extra patrols were set around the high school after classes let out.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Hawley Avenue at 3:29 p.m. Monday for a parking complaint. Officers located the vehicle, which had valid registration and was parked legally. Officers were unable to make contact with the owner at that time and will check the vehicle again in the near future to verify the parking is in compliance with city ordinance.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Fifth Street at 3:07 p.m. Monday for a fight involving several juveniles. Officers located the caller and were advised that the fight had occurred on Vine Avenue a short time earlier as the kids were walking home from school. The caller advised that a juvenile that had recently been suspended from school had started or tried to start a fight with her two sons, and that as she arrived at the scene of the fight, she observed a woman in an SUV pick up the juvenile that had allegedly started the fight. The caller then followed that vehicle which dropped the juvenile off in an alley between East Fifth Street and East Sixth Street, and reportedly had a yellow pipe or bat. Officers gathered information and advised the caller to obtain copies of the police reports related to the ongoing issue and consult the municipal court about getting a restraining order against the juvenile. Officers were unable to locate the juvenile but did locate the involved vehicle and spoke with the driver who advised that she saw a group of five individuals and thought they were going to assault the juvenile, who she knew as a friend of her daughter, and picked him up. The driver further advised that she dropped the juvenile off near East Fifth Street when she noticed a vehicle following her, and that when she stopped to drop the juvenile off, she brandished a bat to show that she would defend herself.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 2:20 p.m. with the housing officer for a report of large amounts of trash in the driveway and all around the residence, that the caller feared would attract animals. The caller and the housing officers observed a large bird fly out of the opened garage which was also filled with trash. The housing officer advised that numerous citations have been issued and the tenants were recently evicted, and that the property was reportedly having the trash cleaned up sometime this week.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:16 p.m. Monday regarding a possible missing person. Officers gathered information on the person and dispatch entered a BOLO into the law enforcement data pass to attempt to locate and verify the well-being of the individual. The caller was requested to advise officers if any further information on the matter is learned.
-- Officers responded to the 1600 block of Southeast Boulevard for a report of dogs barking habitually at a residence. Officers located two dogs in the fenced backyard of the residence and noted they were barking as they arrived and continued to do so while officers monitored the area. Officers were unable to contact anyone at the residence, and a warning tag was placed on the front door for excessive dog barking. Officers will attempt to follow up in the future with a resident.
-- Officers responded to the area of Penn Avenue and East Pershing Street at 8:28 a.m. Monday for a parking complaint. The caller advised a food delivery truck was parked the wrong way in a one-way alleyway. Officers spoke with the driver who advised he thought the alleyway was a two-way, and officers informed him it had recently been changed to a one way.

-- Officers arrested Nichole Chestnut, no age or address given, after responding at 9:24 a.m. to a disturbance on Park Avenue on Tuesday. Chestnut was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
-- Officers charged Carina Ocasio, no age or address given, with speed, no child restraint and driving under suspension at 5:58 p.m. on Monday following a traffic stop on Kenmar Drive. A passenger in the vehicle, Chrsital Garcia, no age or address given, was cited for possession of marijuana.
-- Officers issued a junk vehicle notice to a resident on East North Avenue on Monday at 9:33 a.m.
-- Officers performed a wellness check on a female at 8:44 a.m. at East Taggart Street on Monday after she failed to show up for work. The female was located and advised officers she was ill.
-- Officers performed a wellness check at 6:25 a.m. on East Taggart Street on Monday. Contact was made and the subject advised nothing was wrong.
