-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 8:32 p.m. Sunday for a report of an unknown issue. When officers arrived, the caller advised that a woman he knew had showed up and started threatening him, allegedly stemming from him owing the woman money. The woman had already left the area prior to officers' arrival. Officers will contact the woman to advise her to leave the caller alone.
-- Officers responded to the area of Diagonal Road and South Duck Creek Road at 6:43 p.m. Sunday to assist Goshen Township officers with a traffic stop where a K-9 was requested. K-9 Argo was deployed and did indicate to the presence of a narcotics odor. A search of the vehicle located suspected contraband and the driver was taken into custody by Goshen Township.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Sharp Street at 6:05 p.m. Sunday for a report of a fight possibly occurring. The homeowner advised that two people had been staying with them in their home for six months and were causing problems, and they wanted them removed. They also advised that the people were calling the homeowners witches and accusing them of performing witchcraft because they put up Halloween decorations. Ultimately an agreement was made concerning rent money that was paid, and the people elected to move out of the residence and get a hotel.
-- Officers responded to the 2100 block of East State Street at 5:38 p.m. Sunday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that there has been an ongoing issue with a woman attempting to get them fired from their job stemming from an altercation the caller and the woman's sons had at school. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Granite Avenue at 4:24 p.m. Sunday for barking dog complaint. Officers could hear the dogs when they arrived and attempted to speak with the owners, but nobody was at the residence.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of East Perry Street at 2:24 p.m. Sunday for a report of a protection order violation. The caller advised her ex-husband, whose name was not listed, sent her a telecommunication message in direct violation of their protection order. Charges will be filed.
-- Officers on patrol in the 800 block of Southeast Boulevard at 2:07 p.m. Sunday took a report of a man riding a dirt bike on city property. Officers advised the man he was on private property and needed to leave, which he did without incident.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 12:16 p.m. Sunday for a parking complaint. Vehicles are allegedly being parked along the curb lawn without being driven for weeks at a time. Officers observed no vehicles to be illegally parked at the time of the complaint, but the area will be monitored in the near future to confirm vehicles parked on the street are being driven at least every 48 hours.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 2200 block of East State Street at 9:54 a.m. Sunday for a report of an unattended female juvenile. Officers located the juvenile, who was with her grandmother, advising them of the complaint. The grandmother advised they had been at the restaurant for about an hour and that she never left her granddaughter.
-- Officers documented graffiti at several locations beneath Cranmer Bridge at 8:03 a.m. Sunday. Some of the graffiti occurred sometime before Sept. 13, and was not there the week prior, additional graffiti occurred between Sept. 13 and that day. Traffic and safety will be notified to cover the graffiti.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of East Fourth Street at 5:31 a.m. Sunday for a 911 hang-up call. The caller advised that they had called to have a woman who does not live at the residence removed, and the woman left without issue.
-- Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 3:38 a.m. Sunday to report someone following her. The caller advised that a man in a silver Pontiac SUV was following her and requested a ride home. Officers provided her with a ride home and checked the area but were unable to locate the man in question.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of East Fourth Street at 12:59 a.m. Sunday after being flagged down in relation to an incident prior in the evening. Officers spoke with the involved parties, finding there to be no issue.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of West State Street at 12:22 a.m. Sunday to assist the fire department and EMT with an unknown issue with a patient. Officers spoke with the patient who refused to give first responders any information. Officers then attempted to speak with the juvenile caller to gain a better understanding of the situation and a scuffle was heard upstairs. Officers went upstairs finding the patient, Amber Padula, 40, Salem, acting very aggressive and were advised by first responders she had struck and pushed them. Officers got into a verbal argument with Padula, during which Padula slapped officers' arm and said she hoped her large dog, which appeared very aggressive, would harm officers. As it was clear that Padula did not want medical attention, first responders went downstairs to obtain a refusal form for her to sign, and officers went downstairs with Padula to sign a refusal for treatment. At this point Padula began to unlock the dog's kennel to let the dog out, and when officers advised against, and prevented her from opening the kennel, Padula pushed one of the officers. Padula was then taken into custody, during which she resisted officers in attempting to handcuff her. Padula was then transported directly to the Columbiana County Jail charged with assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue at 12:08 a.m. Sunday for an unknown issue with a language barrier present. When officers arrived, they located a person driving away and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Officers spoke with the driver, and the other residents finding there to be no emergency. The driver of the stopped vehicle, Gaspav Jimon, 43, Salem, was found to not have a valid driver's license and was cited for driving with no operating license.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Union Avenue at 9:55 p.m. Saturday for a report of a disorderly person. The caller advised his neighbor was yelling obscenities toward female juvenile at his residence during a birthday party. Officers spoke with the neighbor, who denied the allegations, and advised him of disorderly conduct laws.
-- Officers responded to the500 block of Franklin Avenue at 8:45 p.m. Saturday for a report of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The caller advised a woman her brother used to date took a vehicle belonging to him. Officers were advised the woman, whose name was not listed, had been allowed to use the vehicle in the past, but no longer was. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot, but the keys were not found. Officers contacted the woman by phone who admitted to taking the vehicle but said she did not have the keys, which were never located, but the caller was able to secure the vehicle. The woman was outside city limits at the time and refused to speak with officers in person. The owner of the vehicle did want to pursue charges, and officers filed charges for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for a warrant on the woman.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 8:21 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers could hear a man and woman arguing as they arrived and as they were approaching the residence the woman came outside. Officers were advised that the two had been involved in an argument that was verbal in nature only, and the female half left for the evening.
-- Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 7:35 p.m. Saturday regarding a child custody dispute. The caller advised that his ex-spouse refused to exchange the children involved at the time the court order states and wanted the matter to be documented.
-- Officers responded to the area of West State Street at 6:39 p.m. Saturday to assist Perry Township officers. Officers were requested to check on a person sitting in a vehicle pulled off to the side of the road that was observed to be slumped over. Officers checked the area, but the vehicle had since left.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West Thirteenth Street at 5:39 p.m. Saturday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that his son had called him a bad name. Officers spoke with the son about the incident, advising him to respect and listen to his parents. The juvenile advised there would not be any further problems and that he would listen.

-- Nicole Baringer, 34, West Washington Street, was issued a summons for theft for Columbiana County Municipal Court after police were called at 8:19 p.m. Sept. 13 to Dollar General, Rose Drive, for a theft allegedly involving $48.
-- Officers responded to Beaver Street in front of the old Numbers Brewing at 5:31 p.m. Sept. 13 for a capped needle on the sidewalk. Officers located the needle and several others in the surrounding grass which were all capped and appeared to be unused. Officers collected the needles to dispose of them properly.
