-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 12:03 a.m. for a person to be removed. Officers learned of a verbal argument between a couple, and that the female half wanted the male half to leave. The man elected to leave and was transported to a nearby business to wait for his ride.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:28 p.m. Sunday for a noise complaint. Officers attempted to contact at the door, but the tenant would not answer. They did appear to have turned the music down while officers were present.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 8:18 p.m. Sunday for a reported dispute. Officers determined the matter to be a domestic dispute between a couple that was verbal in nature only.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Jennings Avenue at 4:31 p.m. Sunday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that she had just returned home from Florida and that her belongings were removed by her landlord. Officers spoke with the landlord who advised the property was moved due to it being in the way of the house being painted, and none of the caller's property was damaged in that process.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 1:11 p.m. Sunday for a report of theft. The caller advised that someone had taken a Dallas Cowboys flag off their front porch. Officers advised they would like an extra watch in the area.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street at 12:54 p.m. Sunday for a report of harassment. The person advised that she had been added into a Facebook group chat and people in the chat were harassing her. Officers advised them to remove themselves from the chat and block the individuals.
-- Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 11:41 a.m. Sunday for a report of debris in the roadway. Officers located multiple loaves of bread in the intersection and cleared it from the roadway.
-- Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 9:28 a.m. Sunday who advised that his ex-wife was refusing to relinquish their two children for his court ordered visitation. The man advised that he communicates with his ex-wife through an app that provides record of the visitations. The man requested police documentation of the incident.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 2700 block of East State Street at 7:44 a.m. Sunday to check on a vehicle that had been parked in the parking lot for several hours. Officers spoke with the occupants who advised they were visiting with one another and would be leaving.
-- Officers responded to the 2000 block of Monroe Avenue at 5:48 a.m. Sunday for a reported noise complaint. Officers found the parties in question were involved in a domestic violence situation, leading to the arrest of Justin Kemaich, 21, Salem, for domestic violence.
-- Officers on patrol observed a vehicle in Centennial Park after closing hours at 4:04 a.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with the occupants who advised they were just hanging out and talking. Officers found the passenger, a 16-year-old juvenile whose name was not listed to be in violation of the city's curfew ordinance, and took her into custody, transporting her directly to her residence rather than to the police department to due a possibility of her mother being unable to pick her up. Officers advised the mother of the incident, releasing the juvenile to her custody and issuing a warning for the curfew violation. Officers advised the juvenile that subsequent violations could result in formal charges being filed with the juvenile court.
-- Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 2:19 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check on the caller's wife who had left the residence to take a drive due to being overwhelmed. Officers located her at a business in the area and she advised that everything was okay, and she did not need assistance.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 1800 block of East State Street at 10:46 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked outside for a long period of time. Officers found it to be a person waiting to pick up an employee.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 8:57 p.m. Saturday regarding an incident with a resident and a caregiver. It was reported that the resident was upset and made a claim against the caregiver. Officers spoke with the resident, who was fine. Officers advised the resident to contact the department if they feel the need in the future.
-- Officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of East Third Street at 8:39 p.m. Saturday for a reported dispute. The caller advised that her daughter saw two people fighting at the residence. Officers spoke with the residents who advised everything was fine, and no signs of an altercation were observed.
-- Officers on patrol in the area of Vine Avenue and East State Street at 8:07 p.m. Saturday observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light and initiated a traffic stop. Officers spoke with the occupants, and while doing so observed an odor of marijuana, conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle locating a small container that was used to store marijuana contraband. The driver of the vehicle, whose name was not listed, admitted to being in possession of the contraband, which was seized by officers and properly disposed of at the police department. The driver was issued a warning for the red violation.
PERRY TOWNSHIP
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Stewart Road at 10:50 p.m. Friday for a reported domestic. Officers found the male half, Bobby Bernstein Junior, 31, Salem, had assaulted his girlfriend, and observed physical marking around the female half's throat and face. Bernstein was arrested for domestic violence and was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of Garfield Avenue at 4:59 p.m. for a report of a dog running loose. The caller advised them they were able to apprehend the dog, and officers were able to locate the owner of the dog, who took possession of it.
-- Officers spoke with a man by phone at 11:47 a.m. Friday for a report of one of his tenants getting harassed. The man advised that a woman is coming onto his property, parking her vehicle at his property and walks through his yard to her apartment at Salem Acres. The caller does not want the woman on the property and wanted to fill out a trespass notice.
-- Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 10:22 p.m. Friday who was concerned about her husband making possible threats to her. The woman was also worried for the safety of the other party involved, Officers determined that no threats were made, and found the husband to be in good health and with family.
-- Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 3:53 p.m. Thursday for a report of a juvenile riding their bike in the road. The caller was concerned and wanted them checked on. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of Beechwood Road for a report of a resident blowing leaves into the roadway. Officers spoke with the resident, advising him not to blow the leaves into the roadway, and the man said that they were not his leaves and that he would stop blowing leaves into the roadway.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of Highland Avenue at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday for a report of wires down. Officers blocked the road until the wires could be removed.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Plymouth Place at 10:33 a.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious men in suits going door to door. Officers found the men to be Jehovah's Witnesses spreading the word.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
-- Officers observed a man walking south on Youngstown Salem Road at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and asked if he was okay. The man, Henry Mills, advised he was fine and could use a ride to Salem. Officers ran a check on Mills, finding him to have an active warrant out of Columbiana County. Officers confirmed the warrant and that the sheriff's office wanted Mills and took him into custody. Officers transported Mills to a business in Washingtonville where he was transferred into the custody of the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office.
-- Cameron McConville, 25, Beloit, was cited for driving without a license and given a verbal warning for expired registration after a random registration check on his westbound vehicle on Fifth Street showed the vehicle's registration was expired at 11:10 a.m. Friday.
-- Gary Weber, 53, Salem, was cited for a seatbelt violation, and given a verbal warning for speeding after his southbound vehicle on South Salem Warren Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 4:45 a.m. Thursday.
-- Christopher Gauert, 20, Leola, Pennsylvania, was cited for speeding after his eastbound vehicle on West South Range Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 12:46 a.m. Thursday.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of High Street at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Washingtonville Police Department with a report of a man threatening to kill his neighbors. Officers detained the man, whose name was not listed, placing him in the back of the cruiser, and remained on scene until Washingtonville Police Chief Ken Faust arrived and took over the investigation. Officers later responded to the Washingtonville Police Department at 9:26 p.m. to assist Faust in handling the man due to him making threats of violence while arrest paperwork was being completed. Officers assisted in re-handcuffing the man and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.
-- Officers responded to West Calla Road at 6:58 p.m. Oct. 23 for a car versus guardrail accident. The driver of the vehicle, Ryan Mackey, no age or address listed, was assessed and medically cleared by Green Township EMS and cited for OVI and failure to control.
