LISBON -- A man accused of headbutting one deputy and injuring another while being taken into custody after a reported Salineville disturbance was sentenced to prison for 24 months for multiple charges.
Austin Maxon, 27, Water Street, Salineville, appeared in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for sentencing on a lesser offense of burglary, a third-degree felony (originally a second-degree felony), fourth-degree felony assault, fifth-degree felony obstructing official business and misdemeanors of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He received credit for 109 days served in jail.
Maxon was accused of headbutting a deputy trying to take him into custody after a reported disturbance June 9 on Water Street in Salineville while he was allegedly under the influence. He also scratched up and bruised the arm of another deputy while resisting arrest. When taken into custody, Maxon allegedly possessed a BB gun that was later reported stolen by a Salineville resident who said someone had entered his home and taken the gun.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
-- Donovan Crytzer, 22, West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, was placed on probation for four years and ordered to have no contact with the victims for fourth-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanors of domestic violence and endangering children for physically strangling a woman by placing his hand around her neck until she could not breathe on July 9 in East Liverpool, all while a child was nearby screaming and crying during the assault.
-- Paul Beaver Jr., 34, whose address was listed as the county jail, was ordered to jail for 21 days after violating his probation, which was dishonorably terminated, for a case involving possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony. Beaver possessed fentanyl on Jan. 25, 2021.
-- Patrick Trimble, 53, Youngstown, was placed on probation for two years after pleading guilty to nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony. He was ordered to make his child support payments as scheduled. He was accused of failing to pay child support for one child from April 1, 2019 to March 6, 2020.
-- Carol Jackson, 58, West Park Avenue, Columbiana, was ordered to serve up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon after violating the terms of her probation for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine on Sept. 23, 2022. Her probation will be continued until Nov. 2, 2025.
-- Eric Smith, 36, Laneve Lane, Wellsville, was ordered to serve up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Wintersville after violating his treatment plan for possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing buprenorphine on March 31, 2021.
-- Charles Ripley, 42, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree felony domestic violence and misdemeanor aggravated menacing, with sentencing set for Jan. 5. The charges stemmed from an incident at an apartment in East Liverpool on April 29 when Ripley allegedly caused harm to a woman and broke items, with two or more previous convictions of domestic violence on his record. During booking, he allegedly threatened to assault a police officer.
-- Nickolas Good, 33, New Springfield, was ordered to serve a term at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center until the program is complete after his probation was revoked for violating his treatment plan for aggravated possession of drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Good possessed methamphetamine on Oct. 28, 2021.
-- Charles Hoschar, 44, Alliance, was sentenced to 11 days in the county jail, with credit for 11 days served, after pleading no contest and being found guilty of attempted theft for an incident Aug. 16, 2021.
-- Kendall Morgan, 55, Waynesburg, was placed on probation for three years for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing a synthetic cannabinoid compound on Dec. 21, 2021. She received credit for two days served in jail.
