-- Officers responded to the Foundry at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday for a reported hit and skip. An unknown vehicle side swiped a legally parked vehicle on South Broadway Avenue causing damage to the rear driver side of the tire well and bed. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 7:01 p.m. Tuesday for a reported person to be removed, that was found to be a civil matter. Officers learned that the person had responded to the residence to gather some belongings, but the caller refused to allow her inside and they had never lived at the residence. The person was provided with their options for dealing with the matter and was determined not to be on the property and legally in the roadway and as such was not forced to leave. Officers advised both parties to call back if they had any further issues.
-- Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers found the incident to be a verbal altercation between a parent and child with nothing physical.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fourth Street at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday for a dispute between a tenant and landlord. Both parties gave a similar account of what had transpired. The tenant had chanced the oil on a vehicle and had left the pan in the yard, and the landlord requested it be moved multiple times in the last several days, so their pet dogs did not get into it, and the tenant found the oil pan missing that day leading to an argument. Prior to officer's arrival the landlord had already advised the tenant that the pan had been moved into the garage. Both parties expressed frustration with the other for yelling and statements made. Officers suggested they avoid each other and contact officers, if necessary, should further issues develop.
-- Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:06 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious man going door to door in the area. Officers located the man on West Ninth Street and identified him. The man was soliciting for the window company that employs him, and officers advised him that this required a soliciting permit.
-- Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday that claimed their juvenile daughter took money out of their checking account without permission. Officers spoke with the daughter who denied taking any money. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 9:52 a.m. Tuesday for a report of fraud. The woman advised that while using her iPad someone unknown to her had obtained all her personal information. The caller advised they were not out any money and that she had already canceled her bank account. Officers advised her to monitor her accounts and her mail to look for any new fraudulent accounts she did not start.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a reckless operator. The caller advised that a vehicle had driven around a school bus while the stop lights were activated. Officers checked video from the school which showed the vehicle passing the school bus while the yellow caution lights were activated.
LISBON
-- Officers were dispatched at 10:31 p.m. Dec. 1 to the 300 block of Thomas Road for a third-party report of an active domestic. Upon arrival, officers saw an active altercation taking place. Further investigation led to the arrest of Greggory Marriner for domestic violence. Marriner, 35, Thomas Road, already appeared in court for arraignment, with a hearing pending for fourth-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanors of resisting arrest and three counts of domestic violence. He was accused of strangling one victim and striking another in the head during the altercation, making a third victim believe she would be harmed. He also allegedly attempted to force his way out of a police cruiser and pulled away from officers during his arrest.
-- A woman on Sherman Street reported a possible solicitation at 1:49 p.m. Dec. 1 when a person came to her door the previous Friday claiming to be from Direct Energy Services and wanting to see her bills to try and save her money. She showed him her electric bill and they changed it, then she got a letter from Ohio Edison saying it was changed. Now she's worried that it was a scam. She was told the only person coming around should be from AEP and was told to contact Ohio Edison to find out if it is legit.
