Salem
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Newgarden Avenue at 5:16 a.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with both parties and due to conflicting stories and no visible injuries, officers advised both parties to stay separate for the day.
— Officers assisted an officer with the Leetonia Police Department at the police department at 1:09 a.m. Tuesday with running an intoxilizer breath test on an OVI suspect they had placed under arrest. The man provided a breath sample of .173% blood alcohol content. Proper paperwork was provided to the Leetonia officer.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East State Street at 8:19 p.m. Monday for a report of suspicious activity. The owner advised that footprints were seen going in and around the building out back. Officers checked the building and the surrounding area, with footprints observed and followed as far as possible.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Vine Street at 7:44 p.m. Monday for a reported theft. A man wearing a tan jacket, black pants, and gray backpack was observed taking a package from a residence.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street at 5:34 p.m. Monday for a report of possible animal abuse. The humane agent was contacted, and officers met them at the residence the dog came from. Further investigation by the humane agent is pending.
— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 4:36 p.m. Monday for a report of a person putting snow on his sidewalk. The man advised that his neighbor had plowed the alleyway near his house in the 700 block of Prospect Street and dumped it onto his sidewalk. He advised that he did not know who the neighbor was, or which house he lived in. Officers advised they would attempt to contact the neighbor.
— Officers responded to the 1600 block of Fairview Avenue at 3:14 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they received a call from a person who said they were feeling depressed. The person advised he voluntarily wanted to be transported to the hospital for medical attention. The person was transported to Alliance hospital by EMT.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of West Pershing Street at 2:13 p.m. Monday for a report of a fight in progress in the 800 block of West Pershing Street that was called in by an on-duty detective. The involved parties were identified and the male juvenile who was involved, whose name was not listed, was placed in custody. The juvenile was transported to the police department for processing and transported to the Tobin Center. The case will be forwarded to Columbiana County Job and Family Services, and the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 1:22 p.m. Monday for a report of theft. The item in question was located in the room as officers arrived on scene.
— Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Butcher Road and Cunningham Road at 12:55 p.m. Monday for traffic violations. At the conclusion of the stop, the driver, whose name was not listed, was served a written warning for the traffic violations.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue at 8:14 a.m. Monday for a reported juvenile issue. The caller advised her juvenile son would not get in the vehicle to go to school. When officers arrived, she was able to get her son into the vehicle and officers advised the caller the school resource officers would be notified of the issue.
