-- Officers responded to the 1300 block of East Pershing Street at 11:35 p.m. Saturday for a report of an intoxicated man with a firearm threatening to harm himself. The caller grabbed the firearm and barricaded themselves in their room, and the intoxicated man grabbed another firearm and was attempting to make entry to the caller's room. Officers ordered the person out of the house, and a man, later found to be the intoxicated man in question, Christopher Smith, 48, Salem, was detained due to not complying with officers. Officers spoke with the caller and both firearms were recovered, and Smith was charged with domestic violence, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of weapons while intoxicated, obstruction of official business, and resisting arrest.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Fair Avenue at 9:46 p.m. Saturday for a possible dispute. Officers were advised that someone had heard what they thought was yelling some time prior to calling. Officers were unable to make contact at the residence.
-- Officers on patrol in the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 7:35 p.m. Saturday located a person wanted on multiple charges through Columbiana County. Perry Township officers were requested to assist due to multiple instances of officers pursuing them. Officers located the man, Rusty Boyer, 24, East Liverpool, who began to run until K-9 Simon's presence was announced which resulted in them surrendering. A second man, Cody Hostetter, East Palestine, who did not stop, was located and arrested as well. Both were transported to the police department for processing prior to transport to the Columbiana County Jail, with Hostetter charged with drug paraphernalia, and obstructing official business, and Boyer taken in on three felony, and misdemeanor warrants.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of Penn Avenue at 5:36 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man being disorderly or a possible assault. The caller advised that he was assaulted by the store owner. Officers spoke with both parties and the owner of the business advised that the man began to yell at them, left the store, then attempted to enter again after being told to leave. The owner grabbed the door and attempted to shut it, which security footage corroborated. An odor of alcohol was observed coming from the caller, and they were issued a trespass notice.
