LISBON — A preliminary hearing for a East Liverpool man charged with fifth-degree felony strangulation has been set Nov. 7. Blayke McCloud, 25, Montana Avenue, allegedly strangled a female during an altercation in the city on Oct. 28. McCloud also faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.
Davon Moats, East Fifth Street, East Liverpool, was bound over to the county grand jury on charges of having a weapon under a disability, a third-degree felony. Moats, a convicted felon, allegedly was found in possession of a handgun during a search of his apartment in East Liverpool on Oct. 14.
Ronal Shaffer, 31, Salineville Road, Salineville, was fined $470 for domestic violence disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was also sentenced to 40 days in jail with credit for 10 days served after striking a woman in the face and shoulder during an argument on Oct. 17 in Salineville, then returning to the residence on Oct. 18 and causing fear with the victim. After being placed in the rear seat of a police cruiser, he allegedly removed his seatbelt and kicked the right rear window while also threatening to assault officers.
Steven Guappone, 41, Leetonia Road, Leetonia, was fined $50 for disorderly conduct after trying to instigate a physical altercation at the Corner Bar in Leetonia on July 28 by knocking a beverage out of a female’s hand.
Crystal Buckel, no age provided, Michigan Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $1,000 with all but $50 of those fines suspended on five counts of failing to file city income tax from 2019 to 2023.
Heather Laizure, 37, North Madison Avenue, Salem, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence. Laizure scratched and punched a man at a Southeast Boulevard home on July 6.
Crystal Hoskinson, 33, North Lundy Avenue, Salem was fined $340 and sentenced to 35 days in jail for two counts obstructing official business and falsification Hoskinson attempted to distract an officer investigating a crime in Elm Avenue in Salem on April 29. Hoskinson yelled and walked away while officers were attempting to detain a man. On Oct. 19, Hoskinson refused to identify herself and later provided a false name to officers during a search for a subject on a felony warrant on Tower Road.
Neil Turkaly, 38, Main Street, Columbiana, was fined $1,875 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 159 suspended, 40 hours of community service and two years probation for OVI, resisting and obstructing official business. Turkaly also received a one-year license suspension. Turkaly refused to comply with officers commands during a traffic stop in Columbiana on Aug. 17. Turkaly ultimately had to be tased and attempted to take control of the taser.
Kevin Caldwell Jr., 24, state Route 46, New Waterford, was fined $250 for driving under suspension. A charge of speed was dismissed.
Beth Stutler, 28, Canton, was fined $150 and sentenced to 180 days in jail suspended, two years probation and 20 hours of community service for endangering children. Stutler’s child nearly drowned at Guilford Lake on July 8. The toddler was observed floating near a buoy. Bystanders pulled from the lake and administered CPR. The child was flown to Akron’s Children Hospital. Stutler said she lost sight of the child while she was in the changing room.
Garrett Craig, 32, Youngstown, was fined $250 for drug paraphernalia and obstructing justice for trying to conceal a small plastic bag during a traffic stop on Oct. 12 in Lisbon. He was also sentenced to 90 days in jail suspended, two years of probation and 20 hours of community service.
A pretrial hearing was set Nov. 7 for Russell Waite, 50, West North Avenue, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence. Waite allegedly grabbed a female by the arm, causing injuries, during an altercation in East Palestine on Oct. 28. The victim stated Waite took her cell phone and would not give it back.
Gary Michael, 28, Bradshaw Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $30 for speed.
Chase Ackerman was fined $390 and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 87 suspended and credit for three days served, 20 hours of community service and two years probation for OVI and speed.
Kristy Dailey, 39, Shadyland Drive, East Liverpool, was fined $100 and sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended for providing alcohol to a minor at Lena’s Lounge in East Liverpool on Oct. 11.
Zecharich Parker, 35, Adams Road, East Palestine, was fined $665 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 172 suspended and credit for two days served for OVI, speed and seat belt. Parker also received a two-year license suspension and 20 hours of community service.
A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 28 for David Moffett, no age provided, Riverview, East Liverpool, charged with three counts of failure to file city income tax for tax years 2020 to 2022.
A pretrial hearing was set Nov. 13 for Sydney Huffnagle II, 31, Salineville Road, Mechanicstown, OVI second offense, OVI third offense, three counts of driving under suspension, marked lanes, two counts of reasonable control and seat belt.
Lavern Miller, 23, Berry Road, Kensington, was fined $875 and sentenced to 180 days with 177 suspended and credit for three days served for OVI .
Tyler Fickle, 31, Samuel Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 and sentenced to 360 days in jail with 14- suspended and credit for 14 days served for aggravated menacing and domestic violence. He was also ordered to perform 40 hours of community service and placed on five years probation. Fickle threatened family members with a knife and pushed a female in East Liverpool around Oct 8.
Joseph Detore, Louise Avenue, Eats Liverpool was fined $180 for driving under suspension and seat belt.
Robert Brooks, Monticello Place, 28, East Liverpool, was fined $50 for driving under suspension.
Lori Lawrence, 58, Cherry Alley, Wellsville, was fined $220 and sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended for drug paraphernalia, illegal plates and plate light.A straw with white residue was found in her possession during a traffic stop in East Liverpool on Aug. 10.
