Salem
— Officers on patrol in the 900 block of East State Street at 4:18 a.m. Friday observed a dolly fall out of the rear of a tractor trailer. Officers recovered the property and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Officers returned the property and gave a verbal warning for unsecured load.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Third Street at 12:45 a.m. Friday for a report of criminal damage to a motor vehicle. The caller advised they witnessed a person puncture his tire. Officers located two men, speaking with them, and cameras in the area. Officers are awaiting camera footage for possible charges and the incident is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Sixth Street at 10:27 p.m. Thursday to assist the fire department with a structure fire. Officers stood by until no longer needed.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of West State Street at 8:41 p.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers spoke with two people in the dumpster and advised them that they could not be there, and they left the area.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 6:40 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that juveniles in the area had knocked on her door then ran. No damage occurred and no juveniles were located in the area. The caller was advised to contact police if it occurred again.
— Officers on patrol were flagged down in the 300 block of South Broadway Avenue at 3:56 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 800 block of Arch Street. Officers spoke with a juvenile and her mother in the area and were able to get a registration for the vehicle in question and contact the vehicle’s owner. Officers spoke with them and advised them of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 3:28 p.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised a family member, who was intoxicated, came to her residence and started causing issues over money. The person left prior to officers’ arrival but was located and advised not to return. A criminal trespass notice was filled out but not served at that time.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Ninth Street at 2:37 p.m. Thursday for a report of possible drug paraphernalia. The caller advised that she located the item while cleaning out an apartment, and it was collected and properly disposed of at the police department.
— Officers responded with the fire department to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:46 p.m. Thursday for a fire alarm. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
Sheriff’s Office
— A report was requested at 5:18 p.m. Thursday regarding multiple tools going missing over the last few months from Whiteleather Farms, Bayard Road, West Township. The owner reported he believed they were stolen.
— A report was taken at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday that two employees were yelling and harassing him the past few months. Another report at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday reported tires and rims taken from the farm property on Oct. 25, but then returned after a confrontation.
— A domestic dispute was reported at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday on Westville Lake Road, Knox Township.
