Sheriff’s Office
— Deputies responded at 2:01 a.m. Wednesday to an audible alarm at an address on Rose Drive where they found it was a medical alert alarm for the residence. A neighbor was located with a key and the resident was assisted by deputies.
— A resident on Rochester Road, West Township, reported at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday that his nephew was on his property, but left. He wanted a report on file. Deputies had been dispatched to the same residence at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday for a disturbance between the resident and relatives. Deputies spoke with all parties and they advised they were separating for the night.
— A woman on Tower Road, Butler Township, reported at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday that her vehicle was stolen from the property.
— A man who resides on state Route 46, Fairfield Township, reported at 4:44 p.m. Nov. 8 that his license plate was stolen from inside his garage.
— Deputies were requested at 5:22 a.m. Nov. 7 by East Palestine police to assist in searching for someone, but then were told to disregard the request.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 2:23 a.m. Thursday for a reported possible burglary in progress. The caller advised someone had opened the front screen door to his residence and had possibly been attempting to enter. The residents inside the home did not see the person but advised they saw a figure run southbound. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
— Officers responded to 1100 block of Maple Street at 1:06 a.m. Thursday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers were advised that nothing physical had occurred and both parties agreed to separate for the night.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of state Route 344 at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday to assist Perry Township officers with a person to be removed. Officers stood by while Perry Township officers conducted their investigation, and a short time later the person in question was transported by EMT for a psych evaluation.
— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 7:23 p.m. Wednesday regarding an injury her child sustained. The woman advised that her 1-year-old son’s father had their son for visitation and contacted her about a scratch that he had found on their son’s leg and was “basically accusing her of harming their son, when she had no idea about the injury.” She advised they are currently going through a custody battle and only wanted the incident documented. Officers gathered the necessary information and advised that a report would be on file.
— Kathryn Davis, 53, Hanoverton, was cited for a stop sign violation after her northbound vehicle on South Ellsworth Avenue struck a vehicle driven eastbound on West Wilson Street by Debra Fusion, 65, Salem, at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported, and Fusion’s vehicle was towed by Sinsley’s Towing.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Dispatch was able to contact the residents who advised everything was fine and it was an accidental call by a juvenile.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Newgarden Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an abandoned semi trailer in the parking lot. Officers checked the lot, locating the trailer, and the company was called and advised it was there, and they stated they would pick it up in the morning.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of East State Street at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for a runaway juvenile. The caller advised that the juvenile never returned home from school. While in the process of entering the juvenile into LEADS, they were located and transported back to their residence.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday regarding their adult sister who left the house the night prior and hadn’t returned. Officers advised him that since she is an adult she has a right to leave and come whenever she wishes to, and that his concerns would be documented and to contact them again if the sister had not returned for several days to follow up and further investigation.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 2:39 p.m. Wednesday to speak with a person about an ongoing issue with their soon to be ex-husband. The caller advised he is following her around town and keeps trying to confront her and sending her text messages and calling her non-stop. The caller also advised that the divorce would be finalized in December. Officers spoke with the husband and advised him to stop following her around and stop confronting her, and he advised he just wants the van she is driving. Officers advised him that since they were still married, he would have to wait to see when the divorce was finalized and that the matter was civil. He advised that he would leave her alone.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday for a report of theft. Officers were advised that a blue electric tricycle had been sitting outside the food pantry when it was stolen. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Benton Road at 1:12 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man refusing to go to the hospital. Officers assisted EMT with escorting the man into the ambulance. The man was ultimately transported to Alliance hospital.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Pershing Street at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday for a report of criminal damaging to a motor vehicle. Officers were advised by the caller that his son’s vehicle had its rear driver side tire slashed Monday night and was egged Tuesday night. Photographs of the damage were obtained, and a police report was made.
— The school resource officers were advised of an issue with an inappropriate package at her residence by a student at 12:07 p.m. Wednesday. It was found to be a prank, and the student just wanted the incident documented in case there were any future problems
— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:41 p.m. Wednesday observed a vehicle parked behind a vacant business with their lights on and car running. Officers spoke with a man and woman who appeared to be sleeping in the vehicle, who advised they were just hanging out between door dash deliveries, and they were fine.
