–Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 5:49 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. When officers arrived the person in question was placed into custody. Officers seized $120 in cash as part of the investigation. The task force released the person on a summons and issued a mandatory court date.
–Officers responded to the 800 block of Granite Avenue at 5:06 p.m. Tuesday for a reported loud music complaint. Officers did not hear any loud music coming from the vehicle but did observe the driver in it. Officers advised of the complaint and asked to keep the music down.
–Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue at 2:54 p.m. Tuesday for a reported vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. Officers spoke with the juvenile who was struck and was up and alert and appeared to be fine other than some scrapes. Contact was also made with the driver who advised that the juvenile victim darted out into traffic while on his scooter and struck the driver’s side fender of her truck. Officers spoke with a few other bystanders and advised that it was the juvenile’s fault. The fire department and EMT responded. The juvenile was transported to the hospital by EMT as a precautionary measure. Photos were taken of the truck and scooter.
–Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Third Street at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a juvenile. Officers found the juvenile to be in good health and on the way to school.
–Officers responded to the 800 block of Newgarden Avenue at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised that the neighbor next door confronted and yelled at a contractor who was installing carpeting in their residence. Officers spoke with the neighbor who stated the driveway is shared and the contactor’s van was parked in the driveway preventing a household member from leaving so he went out and yelled at the contractor. The caller advised the contractor left and won’t come back to finish the job because of the neighbor yelling. Officers advised them that the contractor can park along the roadway out front for a brief time to unload supplies and materials from their vehicle.
–Officers located an empty beer keg in the roadway in the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East third Street at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The keg was removed from the roadway
–Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 6:27 a.m. Thursday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that she wanted to go to the hospital and officers contact EMT to transport her.
–Officers responded to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious activity at the residence. The caller advised a truck was parked in the alley with people getting into the dumpster behind a vacant residence. Officers found two people rooting through the dumpster and they were advised to leave. They did so without incident.
–Officers responded to the 600 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:16 p.m. Monday for a report of suspicious activity at a condemned house. Officers spoke with the homeowner who was observed taking items from the residence. The property was condemned by the health department. Nobody was to be on the property. The homeowner was advised to leave the property and contact the city about getting their items. They were also advised that if they returned charges may be filed.
–Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:38 p.m. Monday to speak with a juvenile about a domestic dispute. The juvenile advised that his father had struck him. Officers spoke with the three other residents who advised the juvenile was being disrespectful and refused to help pick up. The father attempted to take the juvenile’s phone away and he ran out the door calling 911. It was agreed that the juvenile would go stay with the mother.
–Officers responded to the 800 block of Liberty Street at 6:20 p.m. Monday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised a dog has been out running around the neighborhood. Officers spoke with the owner who advised he had just gotten an electric fence for the dog but there was a small gap. He was advised to keep the dog in his yard.
–Officers on patrol in the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:59 a.m. Monday observed a woman at an abandoned residence which the owner has stated nobody should be at. Officers spoke with the woman who advised she lived at the residence and wanted to leave a note for the owner of the property, and noticed the door was open but did not go inside. Officers advised the woman to contact the owner by phone and to leave the residence. Officers also checked the residence, locating nobody inside.
–Officers responded to the 600 block of Superior Avenue at 12:12 a.m. Monday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the owner and everything checked OK.
–Officers responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 11:22 p.m. Sunday to assist first responders with issues regarding a patient. Officers stood by until the patient was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
–Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:40 p.m. Sunday for a reported speak with officer report. The caller advised that he was concerned with a family member driving without a license and a few other issues. The caller advised officers would monitor the area for the vehicle.
–Officers responded to the 1800 block of Maple Street at 2:32 p.m. Sunday for a reported medical call. Officers spoke to the person in question, who advised that he had not slept in weeks and that he had not taken his medication in some time. While speaking to officers he continuously dozed off and had slurred speech. The person was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
–Officers responded to the 600 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 1:09 p.m. Sunday for a reported juvenile issue. Officers were advised that a juvenile was damaging property in the area. Officers located the juvenile and noticed that they had injured themself and contacted the juvenile’s mother and the fire department to respond. The juvenile was transported to Akron Children’s Boardman.
–Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:30 p.m. Sunday who advised a person had left their medication in his vehicle and he wanted to return it but did not know where they lived. Officers were able to locate the person and return the medication.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 12:01 p.m. Sunday for multiple 911-hang-up-calls in the area. Officers located a woman walking who was accidentally calling 911. She was advised of the situation and the issue was corrected.
–Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 6:14 a.m. Sunday for a noise complaint. The caller advised that his upstairs neighbor was being too loud. Officers advised them to take the issue up with his landlord.

— A deputy spoke with a man who called at 2:53 p.m. Monday regarding his girlfriend’s grandchildren and an ongoing custody situation in Negley. He was told that custody issues are handled by the courts and law enforcement officers can only follow the current court documents in place. He was also told it’s a civil matter until there is a court order by the appropriate court. The caller advised he would go Thursday and return to the sheriff’s office with the appropriate court paperwork.
