Salem

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:08 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious man. The caller advised an unknown man was knocking on her door claiming to live there. Officers checked the area but weren’t able to locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 2000 block of Edgewood Drive at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers separated all parties involved and spoke with them. The person in question Lucas Christman, 29, Salem, had allegedly grabbed a juvenile household member’s face after a verbal altercation and shoved their face into a wall causing damage to the inside of their lip due to the impact and having braces. The person in question was placed under arrest for domestic violence and brought back to the police department for processing and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile causing an issue. Officers found that nothing criminal was being done and that the juvenile was misbehaving and causing a mess inside of the house. Officers resolved the matter for the night.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday to assist an agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an arrest.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and East Perry Street at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday for a reported tree limb in the roadway. The limb was moved to the side of the road and a note was left for the street department.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 1:17 p.m. Wednesday regarding a possible protection order. The caller advised that they believed a person might have a protection order against them that may be being violated. Officers checked and found that no protection order had been given yet.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Park Avenue at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday for a report of criminal damaging. The caller advised an unknown person had broken the rear window of his vehicle while it was parked in the driveway. Officers provided the caller with the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 400 block of Jennings Avenue at 8:52 a.m. Wednesday for a reported ambulance needed. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 7:16 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller advised a woman was observed acting strangely and yelling. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 11:28 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. The person in question had been treated at the hospital and had left prior to staff removing his IV. The person advised his daughter had removed it when he got home and that he was fine and thanked officers for checking on him.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 10:59 p.m. Monday for a reported juvenile problem. Contact was made with the caller, a juvenile male, who advised that he did not feel safe staying at the residence. Officers spoke with the adult on scene who is employed to stay with the juvenile in the home and care for him. It was determined nothing had happened and the juvenile just wanted to stay with his grandparents. Officers were able to convince the juvenile to relax in his room for the night.

— Officers responded to the area of Georgetown Road and West State Street at 9:13 p.m. Monday for a suspicious person report. Officer searched the area surrounding area, but they were not located.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 8:32 p.m. Monday for a reported woman needing medical assistance. Officers stood by for EMT.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:39 p.m. Monday for a report of two men possibly using a stolen credit card. The vehicle left prior to officers’ arrival.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:22 p.m. Monday for a reported vehicle theft. The caller came home to find his 212 Nissan had been taken from his residence. Information was taken and the vehicle was entered into LEADS as stolen.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Idaho Avenue at 6:19 p.m. Sunday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that a man in all dark clothing was walking through the wooded area. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate them.

— Officers to the area of Benton Road near the U.S. Route 62 bypass at 5:57 p.m. Sunday for a regarding an automated emergency message from a vehicle accident. Officers searched the surrounding area but did not locate any accident. Officers were then advised that the incident was in the Damascus area.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Michigan Avenue at 5:23 p.m. Sunday for a reported civil issue and property damage. The caller was gifted a semi 10 years ago and now the other party was demanding it back, then came to the caller’s property and broke the turn signal. The caller was advised the semi is a civil issue and was also given his options if he wanted to press charges for the damage. The caller advised he was unsure if he wanted to press charges at the time, but that he would like the other party to be advised not to return to the property. Officers responded to their residence but were unable to make contact.

— Officers responded to Crybaby Bridge at 11:10 a.m. Sunday for a report of bones sticking out of a trash bag near the bridge. Officers found the bones belonged to a deceased deer.

— Officers on patrol in the 1700 block of Depot Road at 1:52 a.m. Sunday observed a suspicious person sitting alongside the roadway. Officers identified them as a juvenile who was transported back home and released to their mother.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Georgetown Road at 5:56 p.m. Saturday for a possible juvenile problem. It was found the incident occurred in a neighboring jurisdiction. Officers stood by while the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office took over the investigation.

— Shawn Bowser, 47, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield struck a vehicle driven by Gregory Russel, 66, Leetonia at the intersection of Cunningham Road and state Route 344 at 12:12 p.m. Saturday. Russel’s vehicle was removed by Sinsley Towing, and no injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:01 a.m. Saturday for a report of a person who did not feel safe. Officers found the caller had snorted cocaine the night before and did not sleep, and that her husband gets the cocaine, and she feels that she has to do it because it is in the apartment. EMT responded and transported them to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Madison Avenue at 8:31 p.m. Nov. 15 to assist Salem officers with a fight. While en route Salem officers advised that a man was running from them on foot towards Brooklyn Avenue. Perry Township officers were able to get the person into custody and transfer him to the Salem Police Department.

— Officers responded to the area of state Route 9 at 5:08 p.m. Nov. 15 for a report of a reckless operator. Officers observed multiple traffic violations and made contact with the driver Domingo Calel, 38, Salem, finding them to be impaired and driving without a license. Officers arrested Calel and issued citations for OVI and driving without a license. Sinsley Towing was contacted to remove the vehicle.

Leetonia

— Officers responded shortly after midnight Nov. 17 to the 600 block of Columbia Street, where a female said that she believed that her husband had attempted suicide. After talking to the caller later, she learned that he hadn’t actually ingested the pills but spit them back out when he heard her calling authorities and drove off in his truck.

— The owner of the gas station in the 300 block of Columbia Street reported that after an employee reported a displaced self beneath an open window, he viewed security camera footage that shows someone breaking the window and stealing rolling papers, Vuse vapor cartridges and Backwoods cigars.

— Police were asked to perform a welfare check on a male subject at 2:28 p.m. Nov. 14 as the caller hadn’t been able to reach him. Around an hour later, after responding to a police voice mail, the subject acknowledged he was fine.

— An officer provided a courtesy transport to a residence in Columbiana for a male subject who was sitting Indian style on the side near the Route 11 bridge near Route 344.

— The owner of Steve’s Towing reported at 6:03 p.m. Nov. 18 that Sky Towing attempted to exit his impound lot with a vehicle belonging to one of his customers. The vehicle owner still has not paid in full, and a trespass order has been put in place against Sky Towing until further notice.

— Relentless Recovery Repo contacted dispatch at 3:03 a.m. Nov. 20 to notify police they would be repossessing a white Ford Escape in the first block of Hazel Street.
