Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy was dispatched at 4:55 p.m. Thursday to the 22000 block of state Route 172, West Township, for a vehicle being driven recklessly eastbound. The deputy checked the area, but didn’t find the vehicle.

— Deputies at 7:57 p.m. Wednesday assisted Lisbon police with a domestic violence call involving two people on West Washington Street, Lisbon.

— Deputies and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources assisted Salineville police at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday with locating a person who was a suspect in their jurisdiction on Hazel Run Road, Washington Township. There was no contact with the person

— A preliminary hearing was reset to Jan. 9 in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Michael William Dailey, 40, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, who was taken into custody at his home by deputies with assistance from Salem Police the night of Nov. 28. Deputies had been dispatched to Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township, at 1:42 a.m. Nov. 28 regarding a domestic and learned that a burglary and kidnapping had occurred. Dailey allegedly entered the residence where he was not wanted and took a child, trying to escape with the child. A physical confrontation took place between the homeowner and Dailey in attempts to get the child back, with the confrontation ending in the front yard where Dailey allegedly gave up the child to the mother and then left the scene. Dailey was charged with first-degree felony aggravated burglary and second-degree felony kidnapping.

Salem

— Offices responded to Centennial Park at 1:54 a.m. Friday for a report of two vehicles in the park after hours. Contact was made with the occupants of both vehicles advising them they couldn’t be in the park after hours, and they left without issue.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of East Third Street at 12:02 a.m. Friday for a loud music complaint. Officers could hear music coming from the rear of the residence and the resident was advised to shut the music down for the night. No further complaint was received.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue at 11:06 p.m. Thursday for a reported reckless operator. Officers attempted to locate the vehicles in question which left the area prior to officers’ arrival.

— Officers responded to the area of Continental Drive at 10:32 p.m. Thursday for a report of a person hitchhiking. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:24 p.m. Thursday for a report of several vehicles driving recklessly in the parking lot. All vehicles were gone prior to the officers’ arrival.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 9:21 p.m. Thursday to assist an agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an arrest.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:31 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious vehicle doing circles in the parking lot. Officers spoke with the person advising them to move along.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Aetna Street at 8:09 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that her 13-year-old-daughter would not leave the vehicle following an argument with her brother. Upon arrival the caller advised her daughter agreed to go to her grandmother’s house for the night to avoid any further issues with her siblings.

— Officers responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Fifth Street at 4:11 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised that there was a person yelling while walking down the sidewalk. Officers located the person in question in the area of East Third Street and did not observe them yelling but advised him of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the area of South Madison Avenue and East State Street at 10:43 a.m. Thursday for a report of a malfunctioning traffic signal. Officers monitored the signal through several cycles and found the signal to be operating correctly.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 6:01 a.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. The caller and property owner advised that the person was causing issues, and they wanted him trespassed from the property. The man advised he would leave and was notified of the trespass.

Perry Township

— Officers on patrol on Painter Road near Egypt Road located a tree limb blocking the westbound lane at 4:44 a.m. Thursday. Officers cleared the debris without further incident.

— Officers on patrol in the 1300 block of East Tenth Street at 4:37 a.m. Thursday located a large tree limb blocking the westbound lane. Officers cleared the debris from the roadway without issue.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Stewart Road at 8:04 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic dispute. Contact could not be made with any of the involved parties at the residence, but officers were advised by the caller via public service that the involved parties had left the residence and separated for the night.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department for a report of fraud at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday. The person advised that someone had hacked his PayPal and Amazon accounts and that someone had taken over his home phone line which Spectrum found was ported out to a cell phone. Two credit cards were opened in his name along with hacking into two of his current open credit cards.

Lisbon

— Officers responded to a lock out at 7:52 p.m. at the Community Action Dental Center on Saltwell on Tuesday.

— Officers responded to a lock out at a residence at 7:58 p.m. on Tuesday on Grandview Street.

— Officers assisted a man who had locked his keys in his running truck at 7:47 p.m. on Monday on Garfield Street.

— Officers responded at 3:55 a.m. on Monday to an active alarm at the Eagles on Chestnut Street. The scene was cleared and secured.

— Officers responded to a report from a man on Chestnut Street at 7:34 a.m. on Sunday who advised his brother was harassing him. Officers were shown social media messages in which the brother threatened to blow up the place of business where the other’s wife worked. Officers made contact with the man accused of making the threats who stated he was trying to get his brother to call him and meant he would “blow up the business’ phone” by calling repeatedly. He stated his brother had both money and property that belonged to him. Officers advised no further contact and said an attorney would be needed to retrieve any belongings.

— Officers conducted a welfare check at 8:32 a.m. on Saturday on North Market Street.

— Officers responded at 2:09 p.m. on Friday to East Lincoln Way to a report of threats and harassment. Officers spoke to a man and said a jealous man had threatened to kill him through a social media message for talking to the man’s girlfriend. Officers advised the man to block the account. Officers were unable to make contact with the other party.

— Officers responded at 5:22 p.m. on Friday to Smith Oil on Lincoln Way to a report of men loitering. The men advised they worked for a gas company and were waiting inside out of the cold for their supervisor to pick them up.

— Officers responded to West Washington Street at 11:32 a.m. on Nov. 25 to a report of a suspicious person.

— Officers responded at 6:34 a.m. to the area of Bluff Road and Harvey Street to a report of a flashing light on Nov. 25. The caller thought someone may have been attempting to signal for help. Officers were unable to locate any light in the area.

— A man on West Washington called the station at 3:05 p.m. to report that diesel was stolen from the tank of his truck. He reported filling it up, only to discover less diesel in it than there should have been. He also advised scratches on the side of the truck and reported he believes fuel has been stolen from the tank of the truck which is parked in the alley on multiple occasions. Officers reported that they would increase patrol in the area.

— Officers responded at 2:04 p.m. on Nov. 24 to a two-car accident near Carter Lumber on East Lincoln Way in which one car rear-ended another.

— Officers repsonded at 3:35 p.m. to Personal Touch on East Lincoln Way to a report of an unruly tenant on Nov. 24. At the scene, officers learned that two men were arguing over a yogurt that escalated into verbal threats. One of the men was picked up by his father and left for the day.

— Officers responded to state Route 164 near Saltwell Road at 5:33 p.m. on Nov. 22 to a report of a reckless driver. Officers later located the car and the driver advised he was having trouble seeing the road due to dim lights.

— A resident on East Lincoln Way called at 3:58 p.m. on Nov. 19 to report a 30-pound cement alien lawn ornament was stolen overnight. Officers took a report.
