Salem
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Pershing Street at 2:33 p.m. Thursday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that their neighbor is letting his dog outside without a leash and it is coming onto their property. Officers attempted contact unsuccessfully.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 12:24 p.m. Thursday for a report of theft. The caller advised her packages were delivered to the wrong door of the apartment complex and now couldn’t be located. Officers spoke with the neighbor where the packages were supposedly delivered and she denied seeing or taking the packages. The victim was advised to file a complaint with the postal service.
— Officers were alerted via LEADS online of a stolen firearm reported in 2005 that had been located in South Carolina at a pawn shop at 12:02 p.m. Thursday. Officers contacted Goose Creek Police Department and had the firearm shipped back to the Salem Police Department. The owner has since passed away and contact was made with a family member so the weapon could be shipped back to them.
— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Jennings Avenue at 11:49 a.m. Thursday for a reported livestock at large. Officers located the animal in question and the owner arrived on scene and the animal was placed back inside the fence.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:03 a.m. Thursday regarding reported harassment. The person advised he is receiving unwanted phone calls, texts, emails, and Facebook messages from his ex and he wanted a report on file. Officers were unable to contact the ex, but a voicemail was left explaining what could happen if she continues to contact the man.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Sixth Street at 10:43 a.m. Thursday for a reported ambulance needed. Officers stood by until no longer needed.
— Nathan Murrell, 48, Mansfield turned himself in on a warrant from adult parole at the police department at 9:16 a.m. Thursday. The warrant was confirmed, and Murrell was transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 5:51 a.m. Thursday for a reported theft. The caller advised that at roughly 5:35 a.m. Thursday he received a notification on his ring doorbell showing an unknown man walk up to the porch, take several items and leave on foot heading towards South Lincoln Avenue. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person in question.
New Waterford
— Officers responded to the area of East Main and Boardman streets at 9:34 p.m. Dec. 19 in reference to the sound of an explosion coming from a telephone pole. Ohio Edison was called to check the area.
— Officers responded to the 3900 block of West Main Street at 7:25 p.m. Dec. 17 in reference to a disturbance between a male and female. The female left prior to officers’ arrival.
— Officers responded to the 46000 block of Church Street at 3:55 p.m. Dec. 13 due to an ambulance crew having issues with a patient. The issue was resolved with the patient being transported to the hospital.
East Palestine
— Officers responded to Sparkle Market on South Market Street at 9:27 p.m. on Monday to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers made contact and the scene was cleared.
— Officers responded to East Main Street regarding an ongoing custody battle at 5:35 p.m. on Monday.
— A female resident came to the station to discuss issues with her family at 5:37 p.m. on Saturday. The woman was advised it was a civil matter and that she should speak to an attorney.
— Officers responded at 3;44 p.m. on Friday to the Dollar General on North Market Street for an accident. Officers spoke to both parties and filed a report.
— Officers responded at 1:17 a.m. to North Market on Dec. 11 to a report a man was threatening to hurt himself. Officers made contact and determined it was a misunderstanding and no threats of violence were made toward himself or others.
