LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Dec. 12 for William Arthur Simms, 64, Wyoming Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with third-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault for allegedly forcibly grabbing a woman by the throat on Dec. 5 in St. Clair Township and picking her up off the ground, leaving red marks around her neck area. The victim said she was then pinned against her house.
A preliminary hearing was set Dec. 9 for Jorge Luis Flores, 70, Grandview Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence and strangulation, both fourth-degree felonies, for allegedly threatening to kill a woman, pulling her from her wheelchair and putting her in a headlock on Dec. 1 in East Liverpool.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Dec. 16 for Donald C. Fiore, 58, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, charged with third-degree felony domestic violence, fourth-degree felony strangulation, and misdemeanor violation of a protection order for allegedly grabbing a woman by the neck and squeezing, then striking her causing a laceration on her lip and red marks to her neck, then throwing her to the ground in Salem on Nov. 28. He was also allegedly violating a protection order.
Juan Mitchell, 47, Grant Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended and credit for one day served, leaving a balance of 29 days still to serve in jail for domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim. Mitchell pushed a woman down during an altercation and punched her several times in the head on May 29 in East Liverpool.
A pretrial was set March 11 for Paul Miller, 34, South Market Street, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence for allegedly hitting a woman on the left side of her face with his right hand after an argument when he began shoving her and she threw water at him in an attempt to back him off of her on Dec. 5 in Unity Township.
Shawn F. Harris, 49, Warren, was fined $600 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and an online prostitution prevention course. Harris was accused of requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $120, then driving to Salem for the meeting on Nov. 19, with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.
A pretrial was set March 18 for Randall L. Ile, 50, Washington Street NW, Minerva, charged with possessing criminal tools and engaging in prostitution for allegedly requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $160, then driving to Salem on Nov. 20 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.
A pretrial was set March 11 for Jason P. Peterman, 54, Carrollton, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $140, then driving to Salem on Dec. 5 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.
A pretrial was set March 10 for Joseph Desarro, 31, Duke Road, East Liverpool, charged with drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and a turn signal violation for allegedly possessing a tie off baggy with unknown powder inside on the driver side floor board where he was seated during a traffic stop on Nov. 23 in St. Clair Township.
A pretrial was set March 18 for Eric Grunenwald, 40, Youngstown, charged with operating a vehicle impaired and reasonable control.
A pretrial was set Feb. 10 for Danny Shultz, 35, Cliff Avenue, Salem, charged with OVI second offense, driving under suspension, no seat belt and two counts of reasonable control.
A pretrial was set March 18 for Cagney Springer, 35, Penn Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension and failure to display valid sticker.
A pretrial was set Feb. 18 for Kristopher McIntosh, 26, Marland Street, East Liverpool, charged with speeding.
A court trial was set Feb. 10 for Robert Shaw, 49, Elm Drive, Wellsville, charged with unsafe vehicle.
Bailey Loy, 26, Graham Street, Lisbon, was fined $50 for assured clear distance.
Jossalyn Shaw, 37, Broad Street, East Liverpool, was found not guilty of use of unauthorized plate, but ordered to pay court costs.
Hunter Thompson, 27, Darner Road, Lisbon, was fined $50 for marked lanes.

LISBON — Kristopher Elsass, 65, Graham Street, Lisbon, was served Thursday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing cocaine on Feb. 1.
