Salem
— Officers responded with the Salem Fire Department and EMT Ambulance to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 5:18 p.m. Sunday in reference to an ambulance request. The patient was assessed and transported to a proper medical facility for further evaluation.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 1:27 p.m. Sunday in reference to an altercation between multiple juveniles and found it to be verbal only. Officers advised the juveniles to go their separate way and advised all the parents of the altercation.
— Officers responded to the 1700 block Fairview Court at 12:46 p.m. Sunday to check the well-being of two female juveniles. Officers found the children to be in good health, but were not invited into the home to see living conditions. The case was forwarded to children services.
— Officers responded to a 500 block South Broadway Avenue at 2:12 a.m. Sunday where a patron had fallen off a bar stool and knocked himself out. Officers stood by for crowd control while medical personnel treated him. The patron was ultimately transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
— Officers responded to a 1700 block East State Street business at 7:44 p.m. Saturday in reference to an intoxicated man passed out in the play area and employees were having trouble getting him to wake up. Medical personnel tended to the man and he was transported to the Salem hospital for treatment.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Ninth Street at 7:05 p.m. Saturday to assist EMT with an intoxicated person, who went willingly with EMT.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to a runaway juvenile, but were unable to find anyone. Officers later responded to the 1200 block of East Pidgeon Road where the juvenile had been found. Officers transported the juvenile back to their home.
— Selvin Alvarez, 26, Salem, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign and no driver’s license following a two-vehicle crash on North Ellsworth Avenue and West Fifth Street at 11:05 a.m. Saturday in which he was eastbound and failed to yield from the stop sign, striking a northbound vehicle driven by Dale Mountz, 78, East Rochester. No injuries were reported.
— Officers responded to the area of Salem Regional Medical Center at 9:51 p.m. Friday in reference to a patient who had walked away with an IV still in his arm. Officers were unable to find the person in question.
— An officer responded with a K-9 to assist Perry Township police on a traffic stop on Depot Road at 8:24 p.m. Friday. The K-9 indicated the presence of a narcotic odor and a search of the vehicle revealed suspected drug abuse instruments. The officer stood by until no longer needed.
— Steven Johnson, 59, Lisbon, was charged with physical control after officers responded to the 1100 block of East State Street at 6:58 p.m. Friday in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. Officers observed his vehicle in a parking lot and found multiple signs of impairment while talking to Johnson, as well as an open bottle of vodka on the passenger seat.
— Larry White, 68, New Waterford, was charged with OVI following a two-vehicle crash in which he struck another vehicle while backing out of a parking space.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 4:34 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force in arresting an individual for soliciting. Cash was confiscated as evidence.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 3:26 p.m. Friday to assist a representative of the Columbiana County Mental Health Counseling Center take custody of an adult male suffering from mental health issues and posing a danger to himself and others. The man was restrained and transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital by ambulance.
— An officer spoke with a complainant on station at 3:16 p.m. Friday who reported their daughter was being threatened by another juvenile at school. The officer collected a statement from the juvenile and the matter is under investigation.
— An officer at 6:39 p.m. Friday was advised of an alleged sex offense involving a juvenile. The matter is under investigation.
— An officer responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 2:33 p.m. Friday where a caller reported she went into a local business where an employee, who is her ex-boyfriend, kicked her out. She was advised to contact corporate to file a complaint. The employee said the caller had been harassing him for multiple weeks. The officer advised him of his options.
— An officer responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 1:45 p.m. Friday and stood by until EMT was able to transport at a patient to a local hospital.
— A Cleveland Street resident reported at 11:19 a.m. Friday a vehicle had been parking in front of his house multiple times and when he approached the driver, the driver drove off.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 5:45 a.m. Friday in reference to a noise complaint and found a snow removal service using a leaf blower. Officers advised the man of the complaint and he stopped using the leaf blower.
