PERRRY TOWNSHIP POLICE REPORTS
–Officers responded to the area of U.S. Route 62 at 9:40 p.m. Thursday for a report of a reckless driver coming into the township. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 3:31 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a woman that had possibly been assaulted. Officers located a juvenile on the front porch crying who advised there was something wrong with her mother. Officers located the caller holding the mother in a seated position on the couch. The mother was not coherent enough to speak and had several injuries across her entire body and was transported by EMT to Salem Airpark where she was later life-flighted to St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Youngstown for further treatment. Officers then secured the scene and spoke with all parties, later contacting the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office and the Salem Police Department for further assistance investigating the matter, which is still pending investigation awaiting further information on the condition of the mother.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday to speak with the resident about potentially trespassing their daughter from the residence. Officers advised that they would need to have the daughter evicted from the residence and advised her of the proper process for obtaining a restraining order if she felt one was necessary.
–Officers responded to the 600 block of Florida Avenue at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday to serve an active warrant for felony theft. Officers took Brian Shaffer, 34, Salem, into custody and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.
–Jennifer Phillips, 45, Youngstown, was cited for failure to control after her vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree in the 2100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 2:42 p.m. Tuesday.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 8:29 p.m. Jan. 12 for a reported noise complaint. Contact was made with the resident who turned the music down for the evening.
–Officers responded to the 1700 block of Newgarden Avenue at 12:18 p.m. Jan. 12 for a report of dogs being tied outside. Officers checked the residence and located one dog outside eating and spoke with the owner who advised that he just let the dog outside to eat and that the other dog was inside. Officers checked the boxes which all had straw and water inside.
–Officers were flagged down by a man in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:49 a.m. Jan. 12 who advised of a woman walking in the roadway on state Route 45 who was possibly intoxicated. The Ohio State Highway patrol was advised.
