— Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Perry Street at 4:55 a.m. Monday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that a vehicle across the street had been running for a long time. Officers checked the area but didn’t locate anything.

— Officers responded to the area of Cedar Ridge Drive at 11:41 p.m. Sunday for a report of an injured animal. Officers were able to grab the dog and transport it back to its residence.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Twelfth Street at 11:10 p.m. Sunday for a report of a leaning telephone pole. Officers observed the pole leaning close to the ground with a wire hanging on a vehicle. No tire marks were left in the snow and the pole appeared to be leaning due to weather conditions and Ohio Edison was contacted.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:10 p.m. Sunday for a report of a person to be removed from a sporting event due to being disorderly. The people in question were asked to leave by employees but were not departing. When officers arrived, an employee advised that all the involved parties had left the area and there was no further issue.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Pershing Street at 1:08 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check on a man rolling around on the ground in the parking lot. Officers checked the parking lot but did not observe the man in question, and an employee advised they had already left.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 11:06 a.m. Sunday regarding an ongoing court case and a third-party making threats via social media. The person did not want to pursue charges but wanted the matter documented and officers recommended that they block the third party on the social media account.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Eighth Street at 2:19 a.m. Sunday for a reported noise complaint. Officers observed a man speaking loudly to his live-in girlfriend on the front porch and they were asked to keep the noise down.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Fifth Street at 11:01 p.m. Saturday for an open burning complaint where there were concerns that the flames were too high. The residents advised they were trying to cook and that they would put out the fire.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Street at 8:47 p.m. Saturday for a reported distraught person. The caller advised that his son has had anxiety issues and hadn’t been taking his medication but was walking to the church for help. The son was found walking eastbound and after making suicidal comments officers requested the fire department and EMT, and EMT transported them to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 7:09 p.m. Saturday regarding an issue with the return of property after the death of a family member in October. They were advised to consult an attorney due to the matter being civil in nature.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of a possible theft. The caller advised that someone had taken billiard balls from their business but returned them when they were made aware law enforcement was getting involved. The caller advised they would provide officers with a statement form and security footage at a later time. Officers attempted contact with the man but were unable at that time.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Fairview Court at 11:53 a.m. Saturday for a report that a person known to the caller had taken a fire pit from the yard a short time earlier. The resident wanted them not to return to their property and wanted officers to check on their well-being. Officers located the person in question who disputed the ownership of the fire pit and acknowledged that the caller did not want them to return to their property, and officers confirmed that they were okay.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 11:32 a.m. Saturday for a reported domestic dispute between a man and woman. Officers previously spoke with both parties for the same incident earlier in the day and the female half advised that the male half was leaving the residence willingly but continuing to create a verbal altercation. While officers were on scene the man continued to try and argue with the woman and delay the process of leaving. The man was given a disorderly warning as a result. Once the property was collected the man left the residence.

— Officers spoke to a person regarding a stolen Amazon package at the police department at 10:51 a.m. Saturday. The person advised that the theft occurred at their residence in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue, and no security footage or information of a possible suspect could be obtained. Officers advised there would be an extra patrol in the area.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 9:57 a.m. Saturday for a reported verbal dispute. The caller advised that she and her live-in boyfriend had been arguing all morning but nothing physical had occurred. Officers advised both parties to remain separated for the day until things calmed down.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Eighth Street at 2:45 a.m. Saturday for a report of loud music. Officers spoke with the person in question, and they were advised to turn the music down.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Washington Avenue at 12:28 a.m. Saturday for a wellness check. The caller advised that the person was threatening to harm himself with a knife. Officers spoke with the person in question who denied all allegations of self-harm and it was discovered that the caller was his ex-girlfriend who made the incident out to be something it was not. The fire department also responded, and the person was determined to be okay.

— Officers were flagged down in the area of Filbert Avenue and East Wilson Street at 11:10 p.m. Friday for a bicycle complaint. The caller advised that someone rode a bicycle to the area and left it on the ground before leaving the area. Officers took the bicycle back to the police department.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 10:24 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers were unable to contact anyone at the residence.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:14 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer report. The caller wanted to know what to do about her boyfriend’s 18-year-old son keeping her awake all night by making noise in the house. Officers provided her with options.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 9:22 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible overdose. Paramedics tended to the juvenile male and there were no signs that they had consumed drugs or alcohol.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of South Union Avenue at 7:37 p.m. Friday for a reported noise complaint. The caller advised that the residence was foreclosed and that they didn’t believe anyone should be there. Contact was made with the previous homeowners who advised they were packing their belongings. Officers advised them of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Shady Lane at 7:08 p.m. Friday for a reported residential fire. The fire department had the fire under control.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2300 block of East State Street at 6:38 p.m. Friday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised a dog was inside a car barking for 30 to 40 minutes and nobody was inside the vehicle with it. When officers arrived, the vehicle was running, and the owner had just walked out of the business and advised they had gone in to get dinner and were now leaving.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 3:52 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an alleged sex offense. The person in question was placed into custody and transported to the police department, and $80 was seized as part of the investigation.

–Shannon Marks, 55, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension at 12:30 p.m. Friday. After a routine registration check on their vehicle in the 2400 block of East State Street showed the owner to be suspended.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:13 a.m. Friday for a reported dispute between live-in partners. Officers found the female half was experiencing a possible mental health crisis and the fire department and EMT responded, and the woman was transported to a medical facility for evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Ohio Avenue at 10:24 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a resident who advised that the person in question no longer lived at the address and provided officers with a contact number for them.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East State Street at 9:09 a.m. Friday for a reported hit and skip. The caller advised that they witnessed a truck go over the curb after leaving a private parking lot and strike a large rock, pushing it onto the sidewalk. Officers spoke with the manager of the business, advising them of the accident and the manager advised that people always hit that rock, that they wanted nothing done about the incident and would get somebody to move the rock back into its place.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Fariview Court at 9:08 a.m. Friday for a wellness check on two juveniles. The father, who does not live with the children, advised he had not spoken with them in a couple of weeks. Officers found the children to be well taken care of and the mother advised there was an ongoing custody issue. Both parents were advised to speak with an attorney about the matter.

East Palestine

— A resident on Alice Street reported on Feb. 10 at 12:42 p.m. receiving harassing messages from an ex-partner. The partner was connected and warned to cease all communication.

— Circle K on North Market Street reported a theft at 1:46 p.m. on Feb. 9.

— A resident came to the station at 2:47 p.m. on Feb. 9 to report telecommunications harassment. A report was taken and the president blocked the number.

— A bomb threat was called into the Covington Health Care and Senior Living on Feb. 9 at 11:44 p.m. The East Palestine and Canfield police departments responded. The interior and exterior of the facility was searched and no credible threat located. The matter remains under investigation.

— Lynn Norton, no age or address provided, was charged with domestic violence following a call for a domestic disturbance on Feb. 9 at 10:04 p.m.

— Officers responded to East Martin Street on Feb. 8 at 11:19 p.m. to a report of a dog at large. The dog was located and retained to its owner. The owner was advised that a citation would be issued if the dog got loose again.

— Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at 1:16 a.m. on Feb. 8 to Blake’s Storage on South Marker Street. Officers made contact with the driver and advised they were not permitted to park on the property.

— Officers spoke to a female resident on East Taggart Street regarding a civil matter at 10:01 p.m. on Feb. 7.

— Officers responded at 8:58 p.m. on Feb. 7 to a neighbor dispute on Wood Street.

— Two residents came to the station at 4:13 p.m on Feb. 7 seeking advice. Officers advised them of their options regarding an ongoing issue.

— Officers responded to East Taggart Street for a 911 hang-up call at 1:58 p.m. on Feb. 7. Officers spoke to the caller who advised he was achieving “phone issues.”

— Officers responded to East Martin Street to a report of an open door at a business at 7:14 p.m. Officers checked the area and found nothing out of the ordinary.

— An Alabama couple called the station at 12:38 p.m. on Feb. 6 to report about a missing check that was used to pay a utility bill in the village.The couple advised they did not know anyone from the area and did noy know how their check was used in East Palestine.

— A resident on North Avenue wanted to make a report that her husband had stolen her vehicle and was driving intoxicated t 1:42 a.m. on Feb. 6. Officers advised the vehicle was marital property and could not be stolen but would look for it; however, the resident could provide no information as to where it could be or what direction it was traveling.
