Columbiana
— Officers responded at 6:04 p.m. March 15 to the 200 block of East Friend Street for a domestic in progress.
— Chad Kaminski, of Columbiana, was arrested at 12:47 a.m. March 15 on a second count of disorderly conduct, after being released on a summons for the first charge. He had kicked an interior door within the police department and yelled profanities while attempting to leave. Kaminski had received the initial charge a few hours earlier, after police responded to the Best Western for a report of suspicious activity regarding an older adult male with a suspected juvenile female who appeared under the influence. Police confirmed the female was indeed of age but due to her intoxication level, she was unable to tell officers basic information regarding her identity. Kaminski became increasingly more disorderly, causing alarm to guests and drawing the first disorderly conduct.
— Police responded to a private property crash in the first block of West Park Avenue at 4:49 p.m. March 14.
— Taylor Saunders was cited at 5:30 p.m. March 12 on charges of driving under suspension and expired registration. The plates were confiscated and vehicle towed.
— A female complainant came on station at 2:52 pm. March 12 regarding ongoing problems with her estranged husband.
— Jeremy McNish, of Washingtonville, was cited at 10:13 p.m. March 11 for driving under suspension, after a routine traffic stop near County Line Road and Saybrook Boulevard.
— Police responded at 3:32 pm. March 11 to a private property crash in the 14000 block of South Avenue Extension.
— A zoning violation was given to the homeowner at 145 Stanton Drive at 3:28 p.m. March 11. He will need to appear in city mayor’s court on the minor misdemeanor infraction.
— An employee at a fast food establishment in the 2200 block of County Line Road reported at 4:42 p.m. March 10 the receipt of multiple prank phone calls to the business.
— Rodney McMeans was cited at 3:05 p.m. March 10 in the area of East Railroad and South Elm streets for a stop sign violation and driving under suspension.
— A city resident reported a scam on station at 7:37 p.m. March 9 in which he lost several thousand dollars.
— Dakota Rodgers, of East Palestine, was cited at 7:28 p.m. March 9 for driving under suspension and speed, after a traffic stop in the 200 block of East State Route 14.
Lisbon
— Officers responded at 5:22 p.m. on Thursday to West Spruce Street for a reported domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. Upon arrival, police spoke with all parties involved and after an investigation police arrested Daniel L. Scott Jr., 43, Lisbon, for felony domestic violence, strangulation and violating a protection order — all felonies.
— Officers responded at 4:01 p.m. on Friday to the VFW for a medical. Police stood by until no longer needed.
— Officers responded at 1:37 p.m. on Friday to West Washington Street for a reported disabled vehicle. Upon arrival, police found that a semi was making the turn at South Lincoln Avenue and West Washington Street and clipped the curb causing the front left tire to come off the rim. Police stood by until a mobile mechanic could respond and fix the tire.
— Police responded at 8:48 a.m. on Friday to Corner Auto for a male to be removed. Police arrived and spoke with the male and gave him a courtesy transport to his residence.
— Officers responded at 3:52 a.m. on Thursday to the Kendal House for a report of a male having a seizure. Officers arrived and assisted Northstar until no longer needed. Northstar transported the male to St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Boardman.
— Officers were advised Wednesday at 3:44 p.m. that a welfare check was needed at a village residence but were not provided the address. Officers located a house matching the description being at on West High Street. The resident there advised everything was okay.
— Officers assisted Columbiana County deputies at the Common Pleas Courthouse at 4:42 p.m. on Wednesday for a trial that was becoming argumentative. Police sat in the parking lot while parties involved in the trial dispersed.
— Officers responded at 7:04 p.m. on Wednesday to Circle K for a complaint about a woman pumping gas while smoking. Officers arrived but the woman was no longer there.
— Officers assisted the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office in locating a missing person with dementia at 7:21 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the missing person. Officers were advised several hours later that the male was located.
— Officers responded at 2:49 pm. on Wednesday a call regarding property damage on Market Street. A resident reported a man had broken her door. After inspecting the door, there was no visible damage.
— Officers responded at 1:48 a.m. on Tuesday to Dickey Drive for a panic alarm button. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with janitors who advised it was a false alarm.
— Officers responded at 11:23 a.m. on March 12 to a report of trash sitting out next to the road outside the scheduled on East Chestnut. Residents advised they just changed the garbage company and the trash would be picked up the next day.
— Officers responded at 4:43 p.m. on March 10 to West Washington Street for a domestic violence complaint. Officers spoke to both parties and after investigating, decided to have both parties separate for the rest of the evening. Officers cleared without further incident.
— Officers responded March 8 at 11:27 p.m. to the Lisbon Eagles for one to be removed. Officers spoke to the subject and provided a courtesy ride to his residence.
— K-9 officers responded at 10:12 p.m. on March 7 to state Route11 near state Route 344 to assist troopers and deputies in locating an alleged armed male that fled on foot from a traffic stop. While on scene, K-9 Otis was deployed to track the suspect who fled into a nearby wooded area. K-9 Otis continued tracking through a dense wooded area and into a nearby farm field and again returning back to state Route 11 where officers concluded the suspect to have been picked up.
— Officers responded at 10:01 a.m. on March 7 to the street department garage for a lockout on their dump truck. Entry was gained.
— Officers responded March 7 at 4:04 a.m. to the Hornsby House to check on a male calling about a terrorist “messing” with his electricity. Officers arrived and assured him no threat existed.
— Officers responded at 4:17 p.m. on March 7 to Grandview Street for a reported motor vehicle lockout. Police unlocked the vehicle without incident.
— Officers responded at 2:38 p.m. on March 7 along with North Star Ambulance to West Washington Street for a reported medical. Upon arrival, EMTs evaluated the victim and decided that Life Flight was needed. Police, along with the Lisbon Fire Department, set up a landing zone on Dickey Drive Stat Media-Vac arrived and transported the victim to the hospital.
— Officers responded on March 6 at 11:37 p.m. to North Market Street for a theft. Officers arrived and spoke with the complainant who stated that property was taken by an ex. Police made contact with the other party who stated that the complainant helped the other party move all of the items reported as stolen to a new location before the two individuals broke up. The other party stated that the complainant was told they could come and retrieve the items at any time. The complainant was advised that the incident was a civil issue and they needed to arrange a time to retrieve their property.
— Officers assisted EMS at the Counseling Center at 4:19 p.m. on March 5.
— Officers responded at 6:41 p.m. on March 4 to the Counseling Center in Lisbon for a report of an employee being harassed by their ex-boyfriend. Upon arrival police spoke with the female complainant who advised that their ex-boyfriend has been calling and texting their cell phone along with calling their place of employment harassing the complainant. While on scene the ex-boyfriend arrived and was briefly detained by officers while conducting their investigation. The ex-boyfriend was advised to not contact the complainant.
— Officers responded at 5:02 p.m. on March 3 to the West Washington Street for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, police spoke with all parties involved and determined no charges would be filed due to lack of injuries or threats of violence. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other for the remainder of the evening.
— A K-9 officer was requested at 5:29 p.m. on March 3 by a trooper for narcotics detection during a traffic stop on state Route 11 near state Route 344. On arrival, canine Otis was deployed to conduct a free air sniff for narcotics which concluded in alerting to narcotics odor being present. A search of the vehicle was conducted and located suspected narcotics paraphernalia.
East Palestine
— Officers took a report that an East Street resident had been bitten by his own dog at 4:22 a.m. on March 18.
— Officers responded at 5 p.m. to North Market on March 17 to a report of illegal parking. No violation was found.
— Officers took a report from a woman on East Main Street at 7 p.m. on March 16 who advised her husband had taken her keys and left the residence
— Officers responded to a report that a woman found a suicide note from her boyfriend at 12:04 a.m. on march 15 on West Clark Street. Officers found the man on the porch and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
— Officers assisted in locating a loose dog at 10:14 a.m. on March 15 on North Walnut Street.
— Officers took a report from a man on East Highland Street regarding property damage at 8:19 p.m. on March 15.
— Officers accompanied an employee with the Columbiana County Children Services to Bacon Street at 10:06 a.m. on March 14. A 17-year-old was taken into custody.
— Officers respond to a noise complaint on East Martin Street at 1:10 a.m. on March 14.
— Officers respond to a noise complaint on Wood Street at 11:54 p.m. on March 13.
— Officers secured an open door at a North Market business at 1:52 a.m. on March 11.
— Officers took information from a resident at 7:59 p.m. regarding an incident that occurred in Boardman and text messages that followed on March 11.
— Officers responded at 7;27 p.m. to East Taggart for a private property accident on March 11.
— Officers spoke to a man after a person reported he was having suicidal thoughts at 11:55 a.m. on March 11. The man denied having any issue and refused intervention.
— Officers responded at 5:37 p.m. to Leake Street on March 10 to a report of a man riding a dirt bike. Officers located a juvenile riding a small dirt bike while being supervised by his parents.
— Officers took a report at 4:33 p.m. to a report of several dogs in a home on Park Avenue. Officers advised they would look into village ordinances to see if any code violations have occurred.
— Officers responded to Strawberry Alley at 4 p.m. on March 10 to a report of cornhole boards blocking an alley. At the scene, officers found several people playing cornhole in a driveway, not blocking any roadway.
— Officers responded at 12:16 p.m. to East Main for a domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.
— Officers took a report from an individual at 9:16 a.m. on March 10 who advised that someone had remotely accessed her Ohio Direction card and spent over $100 of SNAP benefits.
— Officers responded to a car alarm at 12:08 p.m. on March 9 on Wood St..
— Officers responded to the Dollar General Store on March 8 at 8:16 p.m. to a report that a man was growling at a woman and making comments. Stepfan Anthony, no age given, Cleveland, was found to be under the influence of marijuana and, under questioning, gave the officer a fake name. He was later arrested for obstructing official business and disorderly conduct. It was later discovered Anthony had two warrants out of Cuyahoga County.
— Officers were advised a juvenile picked up and threw a stone to the ground at Dairy Mill at 5:09 p.m. on March 8 on Walnut. Officers found no one in the area.
— A dog was found in the police department parking lot and returned to its owner at 12:24 p.m. on March 8.
— Officers conducted a welfare check at 11:39 a.m. on March 8 West Main Street. The subject was found intoxicated but responsive and refused medical treatment.
— Officers received a report of a juvenile walking from New Waterford to East Palestine at 10:49 a.m. on March 8. The juvenile was not located in the area of Bacon Avenue he was reported to be in.
— Natalie Granito, no age or address given, was arrested at 11:14 p.m. on March 7 following a traffic stop on West Main Street. Granito was charged with OVI.
— Officers responded to Wood Street to a report of a possible disturbance. Officers checked the area with negative contact.
— Officers were called at 1 p.m. to East Palestine High School on March 7 following a disturbance. A student was removed from campus and changers may be pending regarding the incident and social media posts that followed.
— Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol, providing mutual aid for a traffic accident on state Route 14 at 1:09 a.m. on March 7.
