Salem

— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue at 12:08 p.m. Thursday for a reported parking complaint. Officers advised the caller of their options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 8:31 a.m. Thursday for a report of a person being held against his will. Officers spoke to the staff who advised that the caller could leave if they wanted. Officers attempted to speak with the caller, but he did not want to speak with officers.

— Officers responded to the area of East School Street and East Seventh Street at 7:40 a.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers spoke with the parties involved and determined the matter to be a verbal dispute between family members over an umbrella. Officers advised them of their options.

— Officers on patrol in the area of East State Street and South Broadway Avenue at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday observed a woman with a suspended license driving a U-Haul truck. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and K-9 Chaz responded and was deployed, alerting to the presence of narcotic odor. Officers searched the vehicle, but no contraband was located and the driver Melissa Brink, 45, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Ohio Avenue with the fire department at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday for a medical call. The fire department and EMT were evaluating a man who fled on foot and while EMT initially advised they needed the man back they then advised they didn’t.

— Officers spoke a man and woman at the police department at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday for a reported dispute. They advised that they were followed by a man in the 2800 block of East State Street who approached aggressively and then followed them on foot as they drove away.

— Officers responded to the first block of Court Drive at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile complaint. Officers were advised that juveniles were playing music too loud. Officers spoke with the juveniles, advising them of the complaint and they agreed to turn the music down.

— Ella Golden, Leetonia, was cited for failure to yield after her vehicle failed to yield while exiting a private lot and was struck by a vehicle driven westbound on state Route 14 by Shannan Morris, Salem, at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Cleveland Street at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers located a man that was confused and lost and were able to contact his wife to come pick him up.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 2:14 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a possible theft. Officers found that the caller had already left when they arrived and attempted unsuccessfully to contact the caller.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Perry Street at 11:42 a.m. Wednesday for a reported verbal dispute. The caller advised that a person had driven too fast through the parking lot and that he had confronted them and wanted a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:08 a.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers were advised that a person was outside yelling for help. Officers checked the area but did not locate anyone yelling for help and other people in the area advised they had not seen any woman yelling for help.

Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies responded at 12:25 a.m. Thursday to Adams Road, Middleton Township, for a welfare check after a medical alert company advised being contacted for a non-medical issue and asked that law enforcement respond. Deputies made contact with the person who advised she was fine now and did not need any assistance. She further refused any medical care.

— A man on Hartley Road, Butler Township, reported at 9:46 p.m. Tuesday that he was having a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke with the man, who said he was fine and with family.

— A Louisville man called at 7:46 p.m. Tuesday to request a welfare check on his two children, reporting that he was unable to make contact with them and they may be home alone at their residence on Kurtz Road, West Township. A deputy spoke with the mother and the children, who were fine. She sent the man a message stating everything was fine.

— A man on Bye Road, Middleton Township, reported at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday that there was an attempted burglary at his residence, with no entry gained.

— Deputies responded at 6:57 a.m. Monday to East Ohio Lumber, state Route 644, Franklin Township, for suspicious activity. Deputies spoke with the caller and checked the immediate and surrounding areas, but didn’t find anyone.

— Suspicious activity was reported at 4:19 a.m. Monday at Southern Local. Deputies responded to Clarks Mill Road, Wellsville, spoke with the caller and received information on possible people, checking the immediate and surrounding area for the people, but with no contact.

— Deputies responded at 3:50 a.m. Monday to an alarm at the Pit Stop, state Route 164, Lisbon. Deputies checked the building and found everything to be secure.
