Salem

— Officers stopped a bicycle without lights with scrap on a makeshift trailer behind it in the area of Jennings Avenue and West Seventh Street at 2:24 a.m. Wednesday. The man advised they had collected the scrap in Perry Township past the industrial park and officers issued a verbal warning for the lights required for a bicycle.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday for a reported runaway juvenile. The juvenile was located and returned to the residence.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers checked the area and found that all vehicles were parked legally.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday for a juvenile issue. The juvenile had fled the residence for a second time since officers responded earlier in the evening. The juvenile was located in the 1900 block of Southeast Boulevard and returned home to both caregivers.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Fairview Avenue at 7:07 p.m. for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with both parties, collecting information and determined the male half, David Stewart, 39, Negley, was the primary aggressor and taking him into custody charged with domestic violence. Stewart was transported to the police department for processing then to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday for a reported runaway juvenile. Officers located the juvenile and returned them to the residence.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday who advised that their sister had threatened her. Officers advised them of their options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 3:54 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. The man in question was taken into custody without incident. The woman in question was found to be a victim of human trafficking and was provided help through peer support. The man was transported to the Columbiana County Jail by OSP.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 3:14 p.m. Tuesday who advised that his vehicle had been broken into while he was parked behind a business in the 300 block of East State Street on Sunday. Officers will review security footage from several businesses.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday regarding a situation concerning her adult sister. Officers advised them of the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers were advised that a verbal argument had turned physical causing injuries to both parties. Both parties, Akayla Poteet, 21, and Tyler Anthony, 24, both of Salem, were taken into custody charged with domestic violence and transported to the police department for processing where photos and statements were taken from both and they were transported to the Columbiana County Jail. Due to the presence of a juvenile in the residence a family member was contacted to come and get the child.

— Officers on patrol in the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard at 9:16 a.m. Tuesday observed an illegally parked vehicle. Officers contacted the owner and the vehicle was moved.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:23 a.m. Tuesday for a report of someone looking into the caller’s windows. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone. While officers were still in the area the caller advised that someone was now inside their residence hiding behind a curtain. Officers checked the residence and didn’t locate anyone. The fire department and EMT were called to evaluate the caller, and they signed a refusal for treatment.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday to check for a person with a warrant. Officers checked the residence but were unable to locate them.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 11:51 p.m. Monday to check for a person with a warrant. Officers checked the residence but were unable to locate them.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:44 p.m. Monday to check for a person with a warrant. Officers checked the residence but were unable to locate them.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 11:13 p.m. Monday to check for a person with a warrant. Officers checked the residence but were unable to locate them.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:05 p.m. Monday regarding a civil matter. The person needed clarification regarding residency and eviction from a residence on Aetna Street. Officers explained the protocol and advised them to contact the Columbiana County Municipal Court for further questions.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:32 p.m. Monday to check for a person with a warrant. Officers checked the residence but were unable to locate them.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 10:01 p.m. Monday to check for a person with a felony warrant. Officers checked the residence and were able to locate the person Isaac Hickman, 20, Salem, confirming the warrant and took him into custody.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Madison Avenue at 10:11 p.m. Monday for a wellness check on several juveniles that the caller advised had been left home alone and weren’t being taken care of. Officers spoke with the mother of the juveniles, the juveniles in question, and several other adults who lived in the home, finding the complaint to be unfounded.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Liberty Street at 1:10 a.m. Sunday regarding an incident that occurred prior in the day. Officers contacted both parties involved and advised them of their options.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Liberty Street at 10:09 p.m. Saturday for a dispute. Officers found that both parties had engaged in a verbal argument with nothing physical. Both parties agreed to separate for the night.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of West State Street at 7:39 p.m. Saturday to speak with a woman regarding a domestic incident. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Cider Mill Road at 7:19 p.m. Saturday for a wellness check. Officers attempted contact but nobody answered the door.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Idaho Avenue at 1:45 p.m. Saturday for a report of harassment. The caller advised he was being harassed on Facebook by an unknown man who had taken photos of the caller’s house but hadn’t made any threats of harm toward him. Officers advised the caller to block the man on Facebook and to contact them if there were any suspicious vehicles in the area.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Eighth Street at 3 a.m. Saturday to assist Salem officers with an assault involving multiple people. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 9:35 p.m. Friday for a report of vandalism. A brick had been thrown into the windshield of a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers checked with neighbors but were unable to contact any witnesses at that time and a brick was located on the ground next to the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Allen Drive at 9:39 a.m. Friday for a report of a distraught woman wanting to speak with an officer. Officers spoke with the woman who was experiencing a mental breakdown and advised their life was a mess. After speaking with officers the woman agreed t be transported for treatment and EMT responded and transported her to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Boardman.

Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies responded at 3:29 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Madison Drive in Madison Township regarding threats or harassment. The caller was told how to proceed, with a report on file if needed.

— A domestic dispute was reported at 11:50 p.m. Monday on Grant Street in Center Township. A deputy spoke to the caller about how to proceed and also made contact with the people involved and found everything to be in good order after speaking with them.

— A man on Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township, reported at 11:09 p.m. Saturday that his 17-year-old daughter was receiving unwanted phone calls from unknown people.

— A man on Case Road, Knox Township, reported at 9:43 p.m. Saturday that he is getting harassing phone calls from unknown people.

— A woman on Georgetown Damascus Road, Knox Township reported at 5:19 p.m. Saturday that a man was at her neighbor’s residence and they were urinating outside on the property.

— A woman on Foundry Hill Road, Franklin Township, reported at 10:54 p.m. April 11 that a 17-year-old male from Hanover Township, was harassing her and her boyfriend at the bank in Hanoverton and then was trying to run them off of the road in his vehicle on U.S. Route 30.
