Salem
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 12:46 a.m. Wednesday for a reported dispute. The woman in question was gone prior to officers’ arrival and the caller advised that she had come over to argue several times and he didn’t want her there. Officers advised the woman to stay away from the caller.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday for a reported dispute. The caller advised that the person had come over to his residence and was arguing with him but had left prior to officers’ arrival.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Tenth Street at 10:58 p.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic in progress supposedly involving a knife. The caller advised their granddaughter began striking her before grabbing a knife and threatening to kill her. Officers contacted the Tobin Center and were advised that the juvenile was under the cut-off age and due to the nature and severity of the crime officers contacted a prosecutor and were given the okay to place the juvenile in custody. The juvenile was brought to the police department for processing and transported to Tobin.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 10 p.m. Tuesday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised that she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument and that he had thrown a cup and struck her on the left shin. Officers took a look at the caller’s leg and found no injury. The boyfriend was already packing his things and decided to leave for the night prior to officers’ arrival.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that her granddaughter left the house, and she did not know where she was. Officers located the juvenile. The caller was contacted to pick them up.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Madison Avenue at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that the person has been staying at their residence, but she did not want them there because he had a warrant. She was advised of the procedure for properly evicting the person and that the warrant was out of the pick-up radius.
— Officers responded to Centennial Park at 6:09 p.m. Tuesday for a reported dispute between several parties. Officers spoke with several men who advised they had gotten into an argument but nothing physical occurred.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that her son was locked out of his house and the female half was not letting him back inside. The woman advised that the man was drinking and started yelling at her, and the man advised that he wanted her out of the house. He was advised that he would have to legally evict her.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they had observed a man sitting in the back of the parking lot and invited them inside for a Bible study, making obscene comments, making them uncomfortable and refusing to leave when asked. Officers advised the man he needed to leave which he did without incident.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. Officers took a man into custody and transported him to the police department where he were issued a summons for soliciting prostitution and $140 in cash was seized as evidence.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check on a woman sitting in the parking lot. The woman advised she was fine.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday for a report of criminal damaging. The caller advised that a patient at the nursing home had intentionally damaged four windows in the facility and the facility wanted to pursue charges. Due to the patient suffering from a medical condition, officers obtained a written statement from employees of the facility and the case will be sent to the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Officer for review, and photos were taken for documentation of the damaged windows.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers confirmed the person was fine.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 5:38 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that he believed nobody was at the residence watching his 8-year-old niece. Officers were unable to make contact, but the property owner’s vehicle was there.
— Officers responded to the 2100 block of Southeast Boulevard at 5:22 a.m. Tuesday for a reported waterline break. A waterline break was located and the water department was notified.
— Officers responded to the area of South Lundy Avenue and Columbiana Street at 5:04 a.m. Tuesday for a report of multiple 911 hang-up call pinging from different locations. Officers located the person in the area of West State Street and South Ellsworth Avenue, and he advised that he didn’t need anything but kept stating that God was using his phone to call 911 for him. He was advised to cease calling 911 unless he needed emergency services.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers spoke with the person, who advised that they were okay and did not need any assistance.
Highway Patrol
— Possible charges are stemming in regards to a Madison Township crash on April 21. According to the report, Henry Mack, of Canton, was southbound on Y&O Road when he traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a stop sign. The report has not been completed as yet.
— Thomas Bucco, of Macedonia, was cited at 5:39 p.m. April 20 in Salem Township for failure to control, after his eastbound vehicle traveled off state Route 14 and struck a guardrail before crossing a private drive and hitting a retaining wall.
— Cora Taylor, of Canton, was cited at 2:13 p.m. April 28 for a right-of-way violation in Knox Township after she struck a vehicle driven by Kyle Leftridge, of Alliance, near the Homeworth Road and Route 62 intersection.
— Tyler Cox, of Charlton Road in Lisbon, was cited at 10:02 a.m. April 29 in Salem Township for failure to maintain an assured clear distance, after his vehicle rearended one driven by Lisa Reda, of Youngstown, on state Route 45.
