— Officers responded to the 600 block of West Seventh Street at 2:22 p.m. Saturday for a wellness check on a man with an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. Officers spoke with the man, and once the warrant was confirmed he was placed into custody. The man was then transported to the Columbiana County jail where he was released without incident.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:04 p.m. Saturday who wanted officers to speak with their son about the consequences of stealing. The juvenile was advised of the process of being arrested and ho w the charge could have a long-term effect later in life.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Cherry Street at 10:28 a.m. Saturday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that her adult boyfriend was sending explicit photos and text messages to a female juvenile. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and East Perry Street at 7:33 a.m. Saturday for a reported reckless operator. The caller advised that a man was driving a vehicle with a blown-out tire and appeared to be intoxicated. The man, Kevin Sayers, 65, Salem, had walked off from the area prior to officers’ arrival and was located on South Lincoln Avenue, observing indicators of intoxication. The man admitted to just driving the vehicle and after a series of tests was placed into custody and transported to the police department where a breath sample confirmed him to be over the legal limit and charged with OVI.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 12:15 a.m. Saturday for a reported noise complaint. The caller advised that a neighbor was having a fire and being loud. Officers advised the neighbor of the complaint.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:10 p.m. Friday for a report of theft. They advised that a package had been removed from their front porch and provided officers with camera footage.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of Lexington Avenue at 10:40 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that she was okay and that everything was fine. Officers were advised that the apartment owner had a protection order against the person’s boyfriend, Scott Bailey,55, Salem, who was at the residence with the protected party and was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 8:55 p.m. Friday for a possible fight. Officers spoke with one of the involved parties who advised a man had shown up at his apartment and began yelling and had pulled out a knife and lunged at them. Officers advised him to contact the police department if he wanted to pursue charges.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 8:10 p.m. Friday for a report of harassment. Due to living outside the city, she was advised to contact the Goshen Police District.

— Officers responded to the area of East Third Street at 6:41 p.m. Friday for a report of a man and woman walking along the roadway with the man alleged to have struck the woman and been breaking things on the sidewalk. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Madison Avenue at 5:43 p.m. Friday for a reported fight in progress. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone, speaking with a resident in the area who advised that two men in separate vehicles were yelling at each other and drove off.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Seventh Street at 4:48 p.m. Friday for a report of telecommunications harassment. The caller advised that they have an ongoing issue with a woman who lives across the street and the neighbor advised that they had done nothing wrong and that caller was trying to steal her cat that roams around the neighborhood. Officers advised the woman that the neighbor next door was just petting the cat and officers advised both parties not to talk to each other.

— Cheri Burke, 61, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her eastbound vehicle on Franklin Street struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Susan Skiba, 64, Salem, at 1:24 p.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 12:13 p.m. Friday for a reported dog at large. Officers located the dog, but it ran away, and officers contacted a possible owner of the dog who advised that they had re-homed the dog months ago and do not know who currently owns the dog.

— Officers on patrol in the area of East Pershing Street at11:06 a.m. Friday observed a woman walking who appeared to be intoxicated. Officers spoke with her, finding that she was not intoxicated and sent her on her way.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fifth Street at 8:09 a.m. Friday for a report of criminal trespass. The caller advised that two days prior an unknown person from a lawn company sprayed their yard with chemical and the company has not called back. The caller wanted a report on file.
