Court News

LISBON — A Lisbon man accused of three burglary counts for an alleged incident on Dec. 12, 2024 pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to a single count of burglary, a third-degree felony.

Cliff Lake, 42, Wood Street, will face sentencing on June 13. A first-degree felony aggravated burglary charge and a second-degree felony burglary charge will be dismissed as part of the plea agreement. The indictment alleged that Lake trespassed in an occupied structure when another man was present with the purpose to commit aggravated menacing or assault and the offender had a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance identified as a hammer at the time of the incident.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Harry Wrightsman, 72, Sixth Street, Wellsville, was placed under community control for 18 months after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing cocaine on April 7, 2024.

Municipal Court

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Tyler Anthony, 24, Vine St., Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury for domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly pushing a woman down attempting to take a cell phone from her on April 15 in Salem.

A case against Justin Lake, 28, Depot Road, Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury for vandalism, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly intentionally damaging a tablet device by punching it and breaking it while he was an inmate at the county jail.

A case against Christopher Crooms, 36, Summit Drive, Salineville, was bound over to the county grand jury for two counts of failure to verity residence address, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to notify the sheriff’s office of changing his address as of April 1 and failing to verify it by the required date as required for the violent offender registry.

A fifth-degree felony assault charge against Donavain Casey, 19, Roller Coaster Road, Lisbon, was dismissed by the state without prejudice. He had been accused of allegedly pushing a correction officer while he was an inmate at the county jail on April 23.

A preliminary hearing was set May 29 for Jimmy Anderson, 34, state Route 558, Salem, charged with menacing by stalking, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly knowingly trespassing at a Leetonia address on May 11.

A pretrial was set Aug. 5 for John Thompson, 58, Erie Street, East Liverpool, charged with aggravated menacing for allegedly pulling up next to a woman at a stop sign and threatening to slit her throat in Wellsville on April 14.

A pretrial was set May 29 for Mathew Warren, 41, Elmwood Drive, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking a woman in the face with an open hand on May 20 in Lisbon.

Gerald Heaton, 44, East Highland Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $400 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for criminal damaging and disorderly conduct amended from assault. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and make restitution of $735 to the victim and have no contact with the victim. Heaton was accused of trying to forcibly remove another man from a riding mower and throwing a rock through the rear window of the victim’s car, with the rock then striking the inside of the front windshield and cracking it on May 1, 2024 in East Palestine.

David Ours, 55, Wells Hollow Road, Wellsville, was fined $1,325 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for criminal damaging, operating a vehicle impaired and driving through safety zone. A charge of failure to stop after accident on public road was dismissed and his driver’s license was suspended for one year. He was also ordered to complete 25 hours community service and to make restitution to the Highlandtown Fire Department in the amount of $833. A deputy was called to assist firefighters with an apparent intoxicated male in a Jeep who after being told to stay put, became irate and aggressive, jumped in his vehicle and continued to drive on an embankment causing him to strike a fire engine and cause multiple firefighters to jump out of the way in Madison Township on March 15. Multiple tools were damaged and the fire engine had minor damage to the front passenger bumper and paint.

Robert Doll, 43, Allison Park, Pa., was fined $500 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for two counts of possessing criminal tools with one amended from engaging in prostitution. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and an online 12-hour prostitution prevention course. Doll was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website advertising two females and arranging for sexual activity with them in exchange for $260, arriving in East Palestine on Feb. 19 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

A pretrial was set Aug. 14 for Melissa Tamalonis, 32, Hookstown, Pa., charged with obstructing justice for allegedly giving a false name and birthday to an officer while a passenger in a traffic stop on May 9 in East Liverpool. She’s also facing a probation violation hearing on Aug. 14 for a 2023 case of endangering children

A pretrial was set Aug. 5 for Elizabeth Coulter, 44, Erie Street, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing justice and open container for allegedly having open containers and refusing to step out of the vehicle after being told multiple times to step out on April 28 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Aug. 5 for Robert Matyi, 36, Williams Street, Beloit, charged with property maintenance requirements, deposit litter, garbage, trash or junk on adjacent property on alley and storage of tires for allegedly failing to remove large piles of junk, rubbish, debris and vehicle tires by Feb. 12, 2025 on an East Liverpool property on Dodge Street.

A pretrial was set June 16 for Mary Judy, 55, Blakely Street, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing official business, driving under suspension and failure to stop after an accident for allegedly fleeing from a report motor vehicle accident on Oct. 15. 2024 in Lisbon.

Jonathan Mullet, 34, East Perry Street, Salem, was fined $1,025 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and left of center. Another OVI charge was dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 30 hours community service.

Kimberly Lindsay, 62, West Main Street, New Waterford, was fined $950 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control amended from OVI and marked lanes. Another OVI charge was dismissed. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year with driving privileges granted and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Sascha Wachsmann, 53, Cuyahoga Falls, was fined $950 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for speeding and physical control amended from OVI. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set Aug. 4 for Bruce Behner III, 44, West South Range Road, Salem, charged with OVI second offense, OVI refusal second offense and driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set June 26 for Michael Bruce, 29, state Route 7, Rogers, charged with driving under suspension and reasonable control.

A pretrial was set Aug. 7 for Vincent Newman, 29, Washington Street, Washingtonville, charged with reasonable control.

A pretrial was set Aug. 26 for Kerstian Fleshman, 34, West Pine Lake Road, Salem, charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set Aug. 12 for Brody Herman, 19, Youngstown, charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set Aug. 18 for John Miller, 20, Georgetown Road, Homeworth, charged with improper passing.

A pretrial was set Aug. 4 for Brian Fattler, 51, U.S. Route 30, Kensington, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Aug. 7 for Leeana Schumacher, 21, Highland Avenue, Salem, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Aug. 4 for Douglas Justison, 55, Bye Road, East Palestine, charged with left of center.

Eric Montanez Rodriguez, 48, New Brighton, Pa., was fined $200 for speeding, traffic control devices and an equipment violation amended from driving under suspension.

Caleb Holbrook, 27, Leavittsburg, was fined $300 for driving under suspension and failure to display valid sticker.

Loretta Savin, 55, Valley Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.

A charge of expired license was dismissed against Courtney Fabis, 43, Mansfield.

Thomas Anderson III, 41, Struthers, was fined $150 for no license amended from driving under suspension.
