Sheriff’s Office
— A possible domestic was reported at 12:18 a.m. Sunday in the area of Salem Alliance Road, Butler Township, where a deputy was able to make contact with both parties and speak with them. Both parties said everything was verbal and they separated for the night.
— A deputy responded to Hilltop Lawn and Garden, state Route 14, Salem Township, for a call at 11:29 a.m. Saturday for one to be removed. The deputy spoke with the person and they left the property willingly.
— A Salem woman reported a custody issue at 7:28 p.m. Friday with her son’s father on McCracken Road, Salem Township.
— A dirt bike was reported racing up and down the road in the 4100 block of Kirk Road, Fairfield Township at 8:31 p.m. Thursday. A deputy checked the area, with no contact.
— Deputies were dispatched at 8:18 p.m. Thursday to Darlington Road, Middleton Township, for a person threatening suicide with a firearm. The person was pink slipped and ordered taken to a hospital. Northstar EMS transported the person to East Liverpool City Hospital in East Liverpool.
— A New Middleton woman reported a double-stroller sitting at the end of a driveway on Brushville Road, Unity Township at 6:48 p.m. Thursday. A deputy spoke with the homeowner who said the stroller is for anyone to take and is out for the trash company to take.
— A deputy was dispatched at 11:26 p.m. June 25 to the area of Westville Lake Road at U.S. Route 62, Knox Township for a person walking with a knife. A deputy spoke with the person who had a flashlight and was walking home.
— Deputies were dispatched at 9 p.m. June 25 to Myers Road, West Township, for a domestic violence report. All parties left the residence and no one wanted to pursue charges.
— A disturbance was reported at 5:21 p.m. June 25 on East Liverpool Road, Madison Township. Upon arrival, deputies learned a person was having some type of medical issue. West Point EMS transported the person to East Liverpool City Hospital, East Liverpool.
— A caller on Bayard Road, West Township, reported a black Dodge Charger being driven recklessly past his residence at 4:31 p.m. June 25.
— A woman on West Main Street, Salem Township reported at 9:57 p.m. June 24 that her outside security camera captured a person trespassing on the northwest section of her property at 2:23 a.m. June 16 and at 9:32 p.m. June 19.
— An Alliance man reported at 7:01 p.m. June 24 that he went to a residence on Hartley Road, Knox Township, to pick up his son and another man was making threats toward him and pushed him. He was advised how to obtain a protection order.
Salem
— Officers spoke with two people on North Broadway Avenue who appeared like they were going to get into a physical altercation at 4:13 a.m. Saturday. Officers spoke with both parties who were just arguing with nothing physical and advised both parties to head inside for the night.
— Officers responded to a business in the 800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 3:52 a.m. Saturday for a report of suspicious activity regarding two people walking around the store after business hours. Officers checked the area but did not locate the person in question.
— Officers on patrol in the 2300 block of East State Street at 12:39 a.m. Saturday observed a person with an active warrant for their arrest. Officers spoke with the person, Katelyn Blythe, 34, Salem, and placed them under arrest once the warrant was confirmed and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 10:20 p.m. Friday for a speak with officer complaint. Officers gathered information from the caller and advised him to contact his attorney about the matter.
— Officers responded to the 2000 block of West State Street at 10:11 p.m. Friday to assist Perry Township officers with a possible burglary. Officers assisted until no longer needed.
— Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 9:38 p.m. Friday for a report of threats. When officers arrived, they found that the matter took place outside their jurisdiction and the parties were separated for the night to avoid any further conflict.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Barclay Avenue at 9:18 p.m. Friday for a possible dispute. Officers located two people sitting in a vehicle, and the male half was unconscious from huffing air duster, which was still in his hand. The woman was awake but disoriented and first responders and EMS were called to the scene, and both people were checked out and refused medical attention. It was also determined that there was no dispute and that they were just listening to music.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 9:02 p.m. Friday. The caller advised that her granddaughter was being harassed by neighbors across the street and that when she and other family confronted them about it, a large argument began back and forth across the street. There were no threats of violence, and all parties were advised to avoid and ignore each other at all times. They were also given several options which they all could do to prevent any further contact.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Quaker Lane at 8:38 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person going to a residence and attempting entry who was later confronted by the homeowner and told to leave the property and advised they felt compelled to go there. Officers collected information about the matter and posted an extra watch for the residence and advised the homeowners to make sure they are securing their residence to contact officers immediately if the person returns.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 7:38 p.m. Friday for a reported incident between two patients involving a cup being thrown. Officers collected information for documentation on behalf of the clinic.
— Officers on patrol in the 500 block of East Perry Street at 5:02 p.m. Friday stopped a vehicle for traffic violation. During the stop K-9 Chaz was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor, and contraband was located in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The driver Judson Edling, 39, Salem, was placed under arrest charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a written warning was issued for the traffic violations. Additional charges are pending.
— Officers responded to the area of East Pershing Street and South Lincoln Avenue at 4:48 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible water line break. Officers located the leak, and the water department was notified. Officers set up barricades.
— Officers on patrol in the area of Franklin Avenue and Whinnery Road at 3:14 p.m. Friday located a piece of debris in the roadway prior to any vehicles striking it.
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible medical emergency. Officers were advised that an incorrect address had been given and assisted in locating the correct address.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 2:43 p.m. Friday about receiving unwanted mail from a person known to them. Officers provided them with the options for dealing with the situation.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Sharp Avenue at 2:24 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers were unable to locate the person in question but were able to contact them by phone. The man advised that he was out of town currently and fine.
— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 1:20 p.m. Friday for a reported animal complaint. Officers were advised that the dog had been left inside a vehicle that was not running and appeared to be in distress. Officers located the vehicle and found it to be running with a window cracked and cold air inside the vehicle. Officers did not observe the dog to be in distress either. Officers attempted to contact the owner and advised him of the complaint.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Maple Street at 11:24 a.m. Friday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that they had evicted the person in the past but let him move back in and had been there for a couple of months. Officers advised that she would have to evict the person again.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 11:04 a.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. Officers located the person in question, advising them of the complaint.
