— A deputy was dispatched at 3:51 p.m. Sunday to state Route 170 regarding a domestic violence incident that occurred the night before. Contact was made with the victim, who advised she wanted a report made, but did not want to file charges against the other woman. She advised a relative punched her in the face and scratched her arms during an argument. The report said alcohol appeared to be a factor. The victim advised she would seek a protection order.

— A theft report was taken at a residence on Hazel Run Road, Washington Township, reported at 6:33 p.m. Saturday.

— An Alliance woman reported at 5:46 p.m. Saturday that she went to pick up her child at the father’s residence on Cherry Valley Road, Salem Township, and he allegedly made a threat against her. She was advised how to obtain a protection order.

— An alarm was reported at 1:12 a.m. Saturday at the Yellow Creek Township garage. All of the buildings were found secure by deputies who arrived and checked them.

— A man on North Shore Drive, Knox Township, reported at 9:27 p.m. Friday that there is an ongoing issue with motorcycles speeding in front of his residence. A deputy sat stationary in the area, but had no contact with anyone.

— A woman on Lisa Lane, Center Township, reported at 9 p.m. Friday that an Alliance woman was harassing her through social media and sending her text messages to her cell phone. She advised she already blocked from contacting her.

— A deputy was dispatched at 8:05 p.m. Friday to Westward Way, Hanover Township, for a domestic violence report. All parties involved signed a refusal.

— Green Township EMS from Mahoning County requested assistance from deputies at 3:36 p.m. Friday with a person having mental health issues at a residence on Cherry Valley Road, Salem Township. Upon arrival, the person was en route to the hospital.

— Deputies were dispatched at 7:59 p.m. June 29 to Roger’s Food and Fuel on Depot Street, Rogers for a private property accident, learning a man had taken his girlfriend’s vehicle and used it to strike another vehicle before fleeing with her 2-year-old son in the vehicle. Ohio State Highway Patrol and St. Clair Township Police were requested to assist in the search for the vehicle and safe return of the child. Later it was advised the man led the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a pursuit and the child was dropped off at the grandmother’s house. The man continued to flee on foot and successfully evaded law enforcement on scene and a drone was later called to the scene and was unsuccessful in locating the man, with charges filed. James Laughlin, 34, state Route 518, Lisbon, appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court last week and is set to face a preliminary hearing on Thursday for first-degree felony kidnapping, fourth-degree felony domestic violence and four counts of third-degree felony vehicular assault.
