— Officers responded to the 800 block of Homewood Avenue at 6:06 a.m. Tuesday for a report of theft from a motor vehicle. The caller advised that her car doors were found open and that a set of gold clubs and cash were missing from the vehicle. Entry to the vehicle was not forced due to the vehicle being unlocked, and no information about a possible suspect could be obtained. Officers advised that an extra patrol would be made in the area.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 3:04 a.m. Tuesday to check for a patient who was pink slipped and left on foot. Officers located the person in question and transported them back to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 11:47 p.m. Monday for a report of fraud. The caller advised that his wife is using food stamps and renting items from Rent a Center under his name, and that they have been separated, and she does not have permission to do so. Officers will attempt to contact her.

— Officers on patrol in the area of North Howard Avenue and West Fourth Street at 10:53 p.m. Monday were flagged down by the subject of a stolen vehicle report that was taken earlier in the shift, who advised that he had the vehicle in his possession. Officers asked the man, Harold Bell Jr., 62, Salem, if he had permission to drive the vehicle and he advised he did not, and officers took him into custody charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Jennings Avenue and West Sixth Street at 9:21 p.m. Monday observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Officers conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the occupants K-9 Fero was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics coming from the vehicle. No contraband was located, and officers issued a written warning to the driver.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 9:57 p.m. Monday for a reported intoxicated driver. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle in question unsuccessfully.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of North Howard Avenue at 9:58 p.m. Monday for a reported stolen vehicle. The caller advised that her live-in-boyfriend took her vehicle without permission and officers had her fill out a stolen vehicle form and advised her to call the department if he returned the vehicle before officers could locate it.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:06 p.m. Monday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that her ex-boyfriend took her house key and garage door opener, and she could not get into the residence. A family member brought a spare key, and she was able to enter the residence.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the female half and observed physical markings, and the male half had left on foot prior to officers’ arrival. Officers located the man, Shawn Morris, 39, Salem, and after speaking with him took him into custody for domestic violence. The man was transported to the Columbiana County Jail without issue.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 3:12 p.m. Monday for a wellness check on a woman who the caller advised left their medical facility and needed to return. Officers located the woman walking in the parking lot of a local business who advised that they wanted to get her vehicle that was parked in the hospital parking lot because she was afraid it would be towed and that she was only at the facility for physical therapy on her leg. Officers contacted EMT to speak with her about her well-being and EMT confirmed that she was fine. Officers advised the woman that she could go get her vehicle.

— Officers were notified by Internet Crimes Against Children of a possible sex offense involving a juvenile inside the city limits at 2:24 p.m. Monday. Officers collected information for a report, and the matter will be investigated.

— Owen Joyce, 21, Salem, was cited for failure to obey traffic control devices after his eastbound vehicle on Second Street failed to stop for a red light causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven southbound by Steven Spiker, 60, Salem, at 12:28 p.m. Monday. Joyce’s vehicle received disabling damage and was removed by Sinsley’s towing. No injuries were reported.

— Officers took a report of theft at the police department at 12:19 p.m. Monday. The caller advised that her juvenile son had a Chromebook loaned to them by the school which had been stolen, and that the school had advised a police report needed to be filed for insurance reasons. They were provided with a report number.

— Officers took a report of fraud at the police department at 11:57 a.m. Monday. The person in question advised that they had been scammed into paying another person money on a dating app through Cash App. Upon finding out that it was a scam, they contacted a representative from Cash App who advised them to file a police report. They were provided with a report number.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:04 a.m. Monday for a reported verbal dispute. Officers spoke with a man and woman who advised that they were having a verbal argument but nothing physical had occurred. Officers advised both parties to separate and calm down. The female half advised that she just wanted to leave for the day and gathered some of her belongings before leaving the residence.

— Ashley Withers, 37, Salem, was cited for OVI and failure to control after her vehicle drove over a retaining wall and flipped on its roof when exiting a private lot in the 2800 block of East State Street at 9:53 p.m. Sunday. The fire department and EMT responded to assess Withers, who was transported to the hospital for treatment.

— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 5:23 p.m. Sunday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that one of the residents had smacked another and that the facility needed a report on file. Officers provided them with a report number.

— Officers responded to Centennial Park at 4:56 p.m. Sunday for a reported juvenile issue. The caller advised her grandson, and another juvenile had been in an altercation and that the other juvenile’s father had been irate with her. Officers spoke with a witness who advised that it was the caller that had been irate. The other juvenile and their father had left prior to the officers’ arrival.

— Officers responded to the 1400 block of Maple Street at 9:36 a.m. Sunday for a report of people possibly using narcotics in the pavilion. Officers spoke with three adults and two juveniles, and the adults admitted to smoking THC wax, and one advised the two juveniles were his sisters. Officers responded to the residence and advised the mother of their son’s actions in the presence of her young daughters. Officers confiscated the items for proper disposal, and the adults were advised not to return to the park.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:56 a.m. Sunday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers spoke with both parties who advised the issue was verbal only, and officers advised them to stay away from one another.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street for a reported medical issue with people that were possibly drugged. Officers collected information about the matter for further investigation.

— Officers assisted Perry Township officers with an OVI arrest at the police department at 2:37 a.m. Sunday. Officers stood by while they conducted their investigation.

— Officers responded to the area of Spring Street and Arch Street at 12:33 a.m. Sunday for a report of a tree that had fallen and blocked the roadway. Officers stood by until the street department arrived and removed the tree.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:59 p.m. Saturday for a reported juvenile issue. Officers advised them of their options and to contact the department if anything further was needed.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 11:08 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person refusing to allow his wife to leave the room and threatening harm to himself and others. Officers found that the matter was not as severe as stated and that there were only verbal statements with no physical violence. Officers advised the hospital staff to contact them if anything else was needed.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:59 p.m. Saturday to follow up on information obtained by an off-duty officer. Officers checked the exterior of the property and found nothing out of the ordinary. Officers gained access to the residence, and everything appeared normal.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Ohio Avenue at 8:11 p.m. Saturday for a reported neighbor dispute. Officers found the matter to be a civil dispute over property and stood by while belongings were collected.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 7:06 p.m. Saturday for a report of a dog being locked in a vehicle. Officers made contact with the owner, and the dog was in good health and officers advised the owner not to do so again or they could face charges.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 3:55 p.m. Saturday for a report of a possible fight in progress between juveniles. Officers spoke with the involved parties and were advised that the incident took place on Friday and the older juvenile advised that the altercation was verbal in nature only and that nothing physical occurred, and the younger juvenile advised that a physical altercation did occur but officers did not observe any marks on the juvenile. All parties were advised to stay away from one another.

— Tracy Feasler, Campbell, was cited for failure to stop for a stop sign after her southbound vehicle in the 100 block of South Ellsworth Avenue struck a vehicle driven Westbound by Morgan Roberts, Boardman, at 3:42 p.m. Saturday. Both drivers were transported to the emergency room by ambulance for unknown injuries.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West State Street at 1:55 p.m. Saturday for a reported person in distress. Officers located the person and found them to be having a medical issue. The fire department and EMT were requested to respond, and officers assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 1:49 p.m. Saturday for a report of a tree falling onto a vehicle and house. Officers took photos of the damage and advised the caller of the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:59 p.m. Saturday regarding people bothering her. Officers provided her with options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 12:56 p.m. Saturday for a report of possible theft. The caller advised that she has her medicine delivered to her address and when she went out to get it, the bag appeared to have been ripped open and two to three pill bottles were missing, and she needed a report. Officers did notice a camera in the area, and the caller advised that her neighbor was not home at the time, but she would ask her if it caught anything.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West School Street at 11:09 a.m. Saturday for a reported person down. A known woman was at the address causing a problem and had left westbound from the area prior to their arrival, and the homeowner requested they not return to the residence. Officers located the woman and advised her of the complaint and that if she returned, she would be arrested.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 9:37 a.m. Saturday regarding a reported theft on Thursday. He advised that while at work someone had taken his wallet and that he had already spoken to the bank and canceled his cards and just needed a report to be made.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 10:53 p.m. Friday for a reported person to be removed. The person had left the area prior to the officers’ arrival.

— Officers on patrol in the 2400 block of East State Street at 6:32 p.m. Friday for a reported sink hole along the side of the roadway. The hole was located, and the street department was notified.

— Officers on patrol in the 100 block of East State Street at 4:33 p.m. Friday for a reported person to be removed. Officers located the person and advised him to leave the property and that he could face criminal charges if he returned. A trespass form was filled out but not signed due to the person being irate, and they were also warned for disorderly conduct.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Homewood Avenue at 3:46 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that they were fine.

— Officers responded to speak to a person at the police department at 3:17 p.m. Friday regarding a reported assault that occurred in June. The caller advised that he had been assaulted at his place of employment in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Officers obtained the name of the person involved in the incident and others who were potentially involved and advised the caller that they would investigate the matter.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2100 block of East State Street at 12:29 p.m. Friday for a reported suspicious person. Officers located the person in question inside the business, and after speaking with the man he was transported to the police department and eventually transported to the emergency room by ambulance for evaluation.
