Salem

— Officers on patrol in the 1200 block of East Pershing Street at 4:14 a.m. Friday observed a water main break. The utilities department was contacted and responded.

— Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 3:09 a.m. Friday for a reported person to be removed. An employee at the business requested the person leave and he was refusing. Officers advised them that they were trespassed from the business, and he walked away before a written trespass form was completed. They also left multiple items in the room which were later returned when officers located them.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of criminal damaging. The caller advised that someone broke the glass on the storm door of their residence. Officers took photos of the damage and advised them to call if they had any more issues.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 10:02 p.m. Thursday to serve an arrest warrant. It was advised that the person in question was currently out of state.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Perry Street at 9:22 p.m. Thursday for an unknown disturbance. The caller advised that there was a lot of commotion with people screaming and dogs barking. Contact was made at the residence, and they were advised of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the area of Sharp Avenue and West State Street at 8:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of juveniles riding scooters in the roadway. Officers checked the area but did not locate them.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Pearce Circle for a reported solicitor at 8:14 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with a man who advised that it was one of the sales team for his company and they were advised that no soliciting is allowed in the city.

PERRY TOWNSHIP

–Officers responded to the area of Georgetown Road and U.S. Route 62 at 3:31 p.m. July 7 to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with an accident. The fire department and EMT responded, and officers assisted with traffic control until Stat Medevac could land.

–James Maddox Jr., 43, Cleveland, was cited for failure to yield after his northbound vehicle on South Cunningham Road failed to yield, causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven westbound on state Route 344 by Austin Sadler, 28, Salem at 12:44 p.m. July 5. Sadler and a female passenger were transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT.

–Officers responded with the fire department to the 11100 block of Prospect Street at 10:25 a.m. July 5 for a report of a large bonfire with tires in it. The man was given a warning and advised what they were allowed to burn.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of Lake Avenue at 2:12 a.m. July 5 for a report of someone walking around his property and that this occurred previously. An extra watch was requested for the area.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 12:40 p.m. July 4 for a reported wellness check. The caller advised that they hadn’t heard from her uncle in over a month and wanted him checked on. Officers were unable to contact anyone at the residence.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 3:01 a.m. July 4 for a report of multiple 911 calls with a juvenile. When officers arrived, a juvenile answered the phone while holding the phone, and contact was made with the parent, who was advised of the incident.

–Officers on patrol on Egypt Road located a green Toyota Camry parked at Crybaby Bridge at 12:49 p.m. July 3. Officers located a man in the driver’s seat who advised that he was alone and drove himself. Officers found that the man, whose name was not listed, had a suspended license and cited him for driving under suspension.

–Officers on patrol on Egypt Road observed a vehicle parked near Crybaby Bridge at 9:16 p.m. July 2. Officers spoke with the occupants, advising them they were trespassing and sent them on their way.

–Officers responded to the 1800 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:34 p.m. July 2 for a wellness check. The caller advised that his elderly mother was confused and off her medication and was throwing things. Officers spoke with the woman who advised that she hadn’t been taking her medication because she ran out, and while speaking with her se became confused and angry and the fire department were called to the scene to evaluate her. She was ultimately transported by EMT.

–Officers on patrol observed two four-wheelers on the roadway in the area of Pine Lake Road and Goshen Road at 4:32 p.m. July 2. Officers conducted a traffic stop and advised the riders that they couldn’t operate the four-wheelers on the roadway. Officers followed them to their residence where they parked the vehicles.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 2:01 a.m. July 2 for a report of a suspicious person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate them.

–Officers responded to the area of East Pine Lake Road and state Route 45 at 5:12 p.m. July for a report of lines down. The lines in question were cable lines, and the fire department was able to remove them from the roadway.
