LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Aug. 4 for George Faulkner Jr., 38, Prospect Street, Salem, charged with receiving stolen property, a third-degree felony, for allegedly possessing a stolen Jeep in Perry Township. A police affidavit said an officer noticed a recently painted blue Jeep matching a white Jeep that was reported stolen with a Pennsylvania plate parked in front of a Prospect Street, Salem apartment. The officer confirmed the vehicle was stolen and observed the vin to be covered with tape. The keys to the vehicle were found in the defendant’s pants pocket.

Corey Yoho, 31, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $1,375 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for operating a vehicle impaired first offense and improper handling firearms in a motor vehicle amended from a felony to a misdemeanor. Another OVI charge was dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 35 hours community service. Yoho possessed a loaded revolver while he was impaired on June 22 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Oct. 16 for Benjamin Wallace, 37, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly stealing a backpack from a man’s work truck in Salem on July 7. He was allegedly identified via video.

A pretrial was set Aug. 4 for Joseph Mason, 41, homeless, East Liverpool, charged with criminal mischief for allegedly kicking in the door to an East Liverpool residence on July 24.

A pretrial was set Nov. 25 for Shannon Marie Johnson, 44, Canton, charged with theft and drug paraphernalia for allegedly selecting 24 items from various sections of the Calcutta Walmart totaling $210 and failing to pay on July 8. A patrolman from St. Clair Township was notified about a female shoplifter who fled in a black GMC Envoy with a broken back window and saw the vehicle, ordering it to stop. During a search of Johnson’s vehicle after her arrest, a scale with white residue was found. She was also fined $50 for no license.

A pretrial was set Aug. 14 for Kurt Brown, 45, Garfield Avenue, East Palestine, charged with criminal damaging for allegedly throwing a rock at a vehicle and causing damage on July 18 in East Palestine.

A pretrial was set Sept. 16 for Nathaniel Carter, 43, Maple Avenue, Wellsville, charged with driving under suspension, marked lanes, drug paraphernalia and expired license. During a traffic stop July 17 in Liverpool Township, Carter allegedly possessed a straw with a white powder substance inside.

A pretrial was set Oct. 14 for Timothy Neal Jr., 23, Independence Square, Wellsville, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense and speeding.

A pretrial was set Sept. 30 for Nathan Roush, 22, state Route 170, East Palestine, charged with OVI first offense, reasonable control, no seat belt and speeding.

A pretrial was set Nov. 25 for Malik Pullie, 28, Commerce Street, Wellsville, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Nov. 25 for Eric Riley, 31, New Brighton, Pa., charged with reasonable control.

Michael Hopkins, 22, Washington Street, Salineville, was fined $250 for failure to control.

Jacob Snyder, 35, state Route 9, Hanoverton, was fined $150 for two counts of driving while texting.

Tyler Coil, 29, Church Street, Salineville, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Robert Byrd Jr., 44, Canton, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and expired tag.

Hannah Higgins, 23, state Route 39, Salineville, was fined $150 for temporary permit required and speeding.

Diane Wright, 60, Grandview Street, East Liverpool, was fined $50 for temporary permit violation.

Kathy Grim, 70, Highland Avenue, Salem, was fined $30 for no seat belt.

Grand Jury

LISBON — Jonathan Perez, 23, Youngstown, was served Thursday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand jury for third-degree felony tampering with evidence, first-degree felonies of trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine and fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs, with specifications for forfeiture of money in a drug case, for allegedly possessing $36 and methamphetamine and preparing for sale and possessing cocaine in an amount equal or greater than 27 grams, but less than 100 grams on Feb. 25, 2024.

LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of possessing images of child pornography entered a guilty plea recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, with sentencing set for Sept 16.

Timothy Gregg, 37, Riverview Street, pleaded guilty to three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, a fourth-degree felony, and three counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in a nudity-oriented material or performance.

Two counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in a nudity-oriented material or performance will be dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

The secret indictment against him alleged the date of the offenses occurred on Feb. 14, 2024.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Casey Carter, 33, East Liverpool Road, East Liverpool, was ordered to serve 30 days in the county jail and was placed under community control for three years for charges from two separate indictments, including theft from a person in a protected class, telecommunications fraud, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin and possession of fentanyl-related compound, all fifth-degree felonies. Carter was accused of devising a scheme and stealing money from two people over a weeklong period from Jan. 17, 2023 to Jan. 23, 2023. She was also accused of possessing cocaine, heroin and fentanyl on March 10, 2023.

— Justin Carter, 42, McKee Street, East Liverpool, was ordered to serve 200 days in jail, with credit for 86 days served, leaving a balance of 114 days still to serve in jail for violating his probation for failure to stop and exchange identifying information after an accident, a fifth-degree felony, from an indictment issued in 2015. His community control was dishonorably terminated.

— Katrina Smih, 31, Chaffin Avenue, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set for Sept. 19. She possessed methamphetamine on June 16, 2024.

— Christina Seybert, 39, Beaver Falls, Pa., pleaded guilty to charges from two separate cases, including an amended charge of attempted illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility, a fourth-degree felony, two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and misdemeanors of possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Sentencing is set for Sept. 16. On Oct. 1, 2022, she possessed methamphetamine, buprenorphine and drug paraphernalia and attempted to take drugs into a detention facility.

— Charles Tittle, 53, Forbes Road, Wellsville, was placed under community control for four years after pleading guilty to two counts of nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for failing to pay child support for two children from Feb. 12, 2023 to Feb. 9, 2025.

— Marina Burns, 40, Norwalk, was placed on an intervention plan for two years after pleading guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine on March 29, 2024.
