Salem
— Officers responded to the 900 block of Home Circle at 10:42 p.m. Sunday in reference to a neighbor dispute in which the caller reported her neighbor was harassing her. Officers spoke with both residents and told them to stay away from each other and were each trespassed from the other’s property.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Fifth Street at 2:55 p.m. Sunday where a resident reported a money card had been on the table, but went missing, and it is unclear if it was stolen or just misplaced.
— Edward Rice, 22, Marion, Ohio, was cited for a red light violation following a two-vehicle crash at North Ellsworth Avenue and West State Street in which he was southbound and fell asleep at the wheel, striking a westbound vehicle driven by John Zamora, 55, Salem. No injuries were reported.
— Officers responded to the 2200 block of East State Street at 8:04 p.m. Saturday in reference someone outside screaming and drinking beer. Officers found the person in question and due to his mental state and statements, he was transported by medical personnel to St. Elizabeth’s.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 6:20 p.m. Saturday in reference to a domestic dispute in which the caller reported her husband had struck her during an argument then left the home.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 1:28 p.m. Saturday in reference to a domestic dispute and found that a husband and wife had been in a verbal dispute, but no threats of physical violence had occurred.
— Officers responded to a 2200 block East State Street business at 11 a.m. Saturday in reference to a juvenile having behavioral issues and the parents having trouble getting the juvenile under control. Upon arrival, officers discovered the juvenile was possible having a medical issue and medical personnel responded to evaluate the juvenile, who was ultimately transported to an appropriate medical facility for further evaluation.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 12:22 a.m. Saturday in reference to two residents who had been in an altercation.
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Robin Avenue at 10:25 p.m. Friday where a caller reported his fiancee was breaking items and arguing, then took the children and left.
— A patrolling officer at 10:08 a.m. Friday conducted a traffic stop at Short Avenue and Summit Street, during which K-9 Chaz alerted to the presence of a narcotic odor. Officers cleared after checking the vehicle and occupants for contraband.
— Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center Medical Arts building at 7:11 p.m. Friday in reference to someone yelling. Officers spoke with the person and due to statements made, medical personnel were requested and ultimately transported the person to the hospital.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 6:35 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with the arrest of person who had responded to an online ad requesting sexual intercourse from an undercover agent.
— Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a traffic stop at Ohio Avenue and East State Street at 6:17 p.m. Friday in which K-9 Chaz was deployed and alerted to a narcotic odor.
— Officers responded with the Columbiana County Drug Task Force to a home in the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 4:22 p.m. Friday in reference to reports of drug abuse and a lot of foot traffic. The tenant gave consent to search the apartment and officers spoke with the tenant at length about the multiple reports and wanted individuals frequenting his residence.
— An officer responded to the 1700 block of Pearce Circle at 4:04 p.m. Friday where a resident reported a male driver passed her residence very slowly several times before eventually pulling into her driveway and asking if her house was for sale or if anyone lived in it. The officer said there would be extra patrol in the area.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Eighth Street at 3:19 p.m. Friday where an individual reported several men struck him in the face and head. An officer spoke with the homeowner who said the individual was told to leave and he would not, striking her and pushing her down. Both people had conflicting stories, but both wanted to filed charges, so officers provided statement forms and said the matter would be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
— A Hudson resident reported at 2:55 p.m. Friday that her mother had given personal information over the phone to someone claiming to be from Apple and that the person gained access to her mother’s banking information and changed passwords.
— Officers responded to a 100 block West State Street business at 11:12 a.m. Friday where a complainant reported an ex-employee had been entering the store and causing issues with the cashiers. Officers spoke to the person in question and advised them not to return to the business.
— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Southeast Boulevard at 10:06 a.m. Friday where a resident reported a dog had entered their yard and bit their dog before running away. An officer spoke with the loose dog’s owners and advised them of the leash laws, giving them a verbal warning for dog at large.
— Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with an OVI arrest on station at 7:57 a.m. Friday. The suspect, Jacen Alan Sharp, last of Pershing Street, Salem, was taken into custody by the trooper.
