-- Deputies responded at 5:38 p.m. to the area of state Route 45 in Center Township at the request of the Ohio State Highway Patrol to look for a vehicle on Wednesday. The vehicle was not located.
-- Deputies conducted a welfare check with Leetonia Police at 5:50 p.m. at Cherry Street in Leetonia on Wednesday
-- Deputies responded at 3:21 p.m. to U.S. Route 30 in Center Township on Wednesday to a report of a stolen trailer. Deputies advised the complaint on how to proceed with the matter and a report was taken.
-- Deputies responded at 5:24 p.m. to Y&O Road in Madison Township on Tuesday to a domestic violence report. Deputies spoke to both parties who advised the altercation was verbal and signed a refusal to prosecute.
-- Deputies responded at 6:47 p.m. to Y-Camp Road in Madison Township on Tuesday to an open 911 call. Deputies checked the area but made negative contact.
-- Deputies responded at 5:38 p.m. to Steubenville Pike Road in Center Township on Tuesday to a report of a barking dog. Deputies spoke to the owner of the property about which the complaint was made and learned the owner's dog has been deceased since June.
-- Deputies responded at 8:22 p.m. to Teegarden Road in Salem Township on Tuesday after a caller advised a man would not leave her property. The man left on foot before deputies arrived.
-- Deputies responded at 10:41 p.m. to Bayard Road in West Township on Tuesday to a report of an ATV with no headlights on the roadway. Deputies were unable to locate the ATV.
-- Deputies served a protection order out of Butler County, Pa. at 10:17 p.m. on County Home Road in Center Township on Tuesday.
-- Deputies conducted a welfare check at 11:58 p.m. at Bayard Road in Madison Township on Tuesday.
Salem
-- Officers responded to a business in the 1700 block of East State Street at 8:34 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious and possibly intoxicated person asking employees to do narcotics in the bathroom. Officers attempted to locate the person in question, however an incorrect vehicle description was given and the person left prior to the officers' arrival
-- Officers responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:02 p.m. Thursday for a report of a missing juvenile. Officers collected information about the events which preceded it and a missing persons form was completed and entered into the department's database. Officers checked several locations where the juvenile may have been but were unable to locate them but later were contacted by the caller and advised that they had located the juvenile and were returning home. Officers followed up at the residence and verified the child was in good health and that everything was okay.
-- Officers responded to the area of South Broadway Avenue at 6:23 p.m. Thursday for a report of reckless operation. Officers checked the area and remained in the area for several minutes but were unable to locate the vehicle in question.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of Short Avenue at 6:18 p.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious activity and concern for juveniles in the area. Officers advised that there would be an extra watch in the area and also spoke with the guardians of the juveniles and advised them to keep the juveniles inside the yard of the residence.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 12:54 a.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised a man was on a bike with a flashlight looking through things near the train tracks. Officers were unable to locate them.
-- Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:34 a.m. Wednesday for a reported fight in progress. The caller advised that a person had assaulted him and fled from the scene westbound down an alley. Officers observed three women run from behind the business toward West Second Street and who were stopped and advised that the caller was being very disrespect to everyone throughout the night and one of them had punched him in the face when they exited the establishment. The caller denied acting inappropriately and wanted to pursue the matter legally and the woman, Morgan Stamp, 25, Salem, was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail charged with assault.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of Prospect Street at 9:32 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the homeowner who advised that everything was okay.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of West Sixth Street at 9:13 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an intoxicated driver that had crashed into a ditch and was attempting to leave the scene. Officers spoke with the driver Morgan Murphy, 26, Salem, determining them to be intoxicated and placed them under arrest charged with OVI and reasonable control. Murphy was transported to the police department for additional testing and later transported back to her home. The vehicle was removed from the roadway by Kaiser Towing.
-- Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 9:08 p.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers checked the area, and nobody was located.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday for a reported distraught person. The caller advised that a neighbor was yelling and had made threats toward him when he went to see why they were yelling. Officers spoke with both parties and the neighbor said that he was scared when the pizza delivery came around the corner with no pizza and that the situation was a misunderstanding and everything was okay.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a third assault at Salem West Healthcare. The person in question entered the victim's room and struck them in the arm when they were told to leave.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a second assault at Salem West Healthcare. The incident occurred the day prior and involved the same parties from the first assault.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of West Third Street at 8:46 p.m. Tuesday to attempt to locate a person with an outstanding felony warrant. Officers spoke with the homeowner who advised that the person in question was currently incarcerated in prison.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday for a reported assault which occurred between residents at Salem West Healthcare the prior week. Staff advised that one resident was called a "dumbass" by the other prompting them to slap the other resident in the face.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 7:59 p.m. Tuesday regarding a stolen moped. The person advised that he had been away on work and that when he returned home the moped was missing, and he had observed it posted to Facebook marketplace. Officers advised them to gather the appropriate documents showing ownership and a VIN number. They did not reach back out to provide the documents.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers were advised that three juveniles were in the roadway and attempting to start fights. Officers spoke with the juveniles and advised them to stay out of the road.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday for a report of dogs at large. Officers were able to catch the dogs and return them to the owner.
-- Officers responded to the 600 block of Fair Avenue at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious activity. Officers attempted to speak with the man in question but were unable to do so.
-- Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 5:21 p.m. Tuesday for a reported motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident. Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle and the pedestrian who was operating a bicycle. Officers observed visible minor injuries to the pedestrian and had the fire department and EMT respond, and the pedestrian was transported to the hospital by EMT.
-- Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fifth Street at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday for a reported civil matter. Officers spoke with both parties involved and the property in question was returned to the caller and the caller was advised of the eviction process.
-- Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a maroon SUV with a possibly intoxicated driver. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
-- Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Third Street at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday for a reported reckless operator. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle in question but were unable.
-- Officers responded with the fire department to the 1900 block of Jennings Avenue at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a tree which had fallen on wires and in the roadway.
-- Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 11:33 a.m. Tuesday. The caller advised a note had been left on their car saying that the writer had dinged their car and provided their contact information. The person was unsure if there was any damage but called to number and spoke with a man who denied hitting their car but advised they had placed a substance into the tail pipe of their vehicle. The matter appears to be linked to a social media prank since similar incidents have occurred in several stated during the past week. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 5:11 a.m. Tuesday for a reported tree in the roadway. Officers blocked traffic until the street department arrived on scene.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 3:56 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an unresponsive man. The caller advised that a man had passed out in their vehicle and would not wake up. Officers were eventually able to wake the person who had passed out from intoxication and the fire department and EMT responded but he refused medical attention. The person was transported home and advised to come back to retrieve the vehicle when he was sober.
-- Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 9:32 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised that they have not heard from the resident for a few days and they could not contact them. The fire department was contacted to gain entry into the residence, and the man was found to be deceased. The coroner was contacted and EMT transported the man.
-- Officers responded to the 1100 block of Short Avenue at 8:29 p.m. Monday for a wellness check on a juvenile. The caller advised that they had received text messages about the juvenile wanting to harm themselves. Officers spoke with the parent and juvenile who advised that the juvenile was just upset, and everything was OK.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Woodland Avenue at 8:30 p.m. Monday for a reported dispute where the caller advised that he had heard a woman yelling. Officers spoke with the resident who advised that everything was OK and they had just been talking on the phone with her sister loudly.
-- Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 7:04 p.m. Monday for a reported uncooperative patient. The caller advised that one of the residents was throwing items and refusing to go to the hospital. Officers stood by while EMT assisted the patient and later transported them to the hospital.
-- Officers responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 5:53 p.m. Monday for a reported runaway juvenile. Officers located the juvenile and transported them to the police department to be picked up by an adult.
-- Officers responded to the area of Superior Avenue near Eighth Street at 4:08 p.m. Monday for a reported parking complaint. Officers located an illegally parked vehicle and contacted the owner, who moved the vehicle.
-- Officers responded to the area of North Ellsworth Avenue at 3:31 p.m. Monday for a report of lines in the road. Officers checked the area, and nothing was located.
-- Officers responded to the 900 block of East Third Street at 3:04 p.m. Monday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers located both juveniles and advised them to stay away from each other. The issue will be handled with the school resource officer.
-- Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:53 p.m. Monday regarding a past employer allegedly making false statements about them. The person had numerous audio messages from the person in question which officers advised them to save just in case further issues arise. They only wanted the matter documented at that time.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 12:40 p.m. Monday for a report of trespassing. Officers learned that the person in question had called the department earlier that day about arranging to pick up some belongings and had been directed to contact the manager of the complex. Officers learned that the person had spoken to the manager and already departed the area.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of South Howard Avenue at 11:43 a.m. Monday for a wellness check on a child that had not been in school. Officers spoke with the child who was in good health and the parents advised that they had relocated and were in the process of enrolling them in a new school.
