LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a Salineville man has been bound over to the grand jury for multiple felony charges.

Jonathan Messenger, 31, West Street, Salineville, was bound over to the grand jury charged with second-degree felony felonious assault, third-degree felony intimidation, and a first-degree misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing for allegedly striking a woman in the back of the head with a metal baseball bat at least three times and in the right hand when she raised their arm to protect herself. Messenger also allegedly told the victim that “if she called the police, he [would] kill her” and that “assault gets six months and in six months he will be standing on her grave” several times and made jokes about killing her with another person while they transported to the victim to East Liverpool City Hospital on Sept. 18 in Salineville.

Robert Koch, 42, state Route 213, Steubenville, was bound over to the grand jury charged with failure to comply with an order, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly fleeing from an attempted traffic stop in Salineville “at a high rate of speed” on April 18.

Christopher Price, 42, Orchard Street, Mogadore, was fined $350 and sentenced to 105 days in jail with credit for 15 days served for theft, falsification, possession of drug abuse instruments and violating the terms of his parole for failing to scan and pay for 14 items totaling $165.77 in value, giving a false name to officers, and having a syringe in his right pants pocket at a St. Clair Township business on Sept. 10.

Jason Conkle, 47, Hollywood Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $500 and sentenced to 30 days in jail for resisting arrest and obstructing official business for fleeing from a traffic stop on foot and ignoring multiple orders to return to his vehicle, and to stop and get on the ground, and physically resisting multiple officers while being taken into custody in East Liverpool on Aug. 29, 2024.

David Bartchy, 36, Ellett Road, Beloit, was fined $800 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 174 days suspended and credit for six days served and ordered to have no contact with the victim for four counts class-one misdemeanor telecommunications harassment with two of the four counts amended from fifth-degree felony telecommunications harassment for texting the victim 54 times after being instructed to leave them alone and stop contacting them on Sept. 15, after which the victim again instructed him to stop contacting her on Sept. 16 and he sent a further 37 text messages, and was instructed a third time to stop contacting them on Sept. 17 after which he texted her an additional four times that day, and again on Sept. 18.

Robert Lutman, 49, Leetonia Road, was fined $600 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 165 suspended and credit for 15 days served for possessing criminal tools and engaging in prostitution for arranging to meet with an undercover agent in the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for sexual acts in exchange for $80 in Salem on June 8, 2024, and possessing the cell phone used to arrange the criminal act at that time.

Kassandria Cole, 33, Middle Street, Columbiana, was fined $1,650 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 145 days suspended and had her driver’s license suspended for three years with limited driving privileges for OVI second offense, and a marked lanes violation.

Jordan Lewis, 31, Compass West Drive, Youngstown, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and traffic control devices.

John Bright, 30, West Wilson Street, Salem, was fined $150 for driving under suspension and speeding.

Ronald Eskridge, 20, Township Road, Steubenville, was fined $30 for improper registration, and found not guilty of a charge of driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Dec. 16 for Troy Fox, 47, Orange Lane, Chagrin Falls, charged with two counts of refuse disposal prohibition for allegedly affixing a deer tag to a deer harvested before purchasing the tag on Nov. 11, 2024, and Dec. 2, 2024.

A pretrial was set Jan. 5 for Aaron Penny, 34, Stookesberry Road, Lisbon, charged with OVI, and turn signal violation.
