Highway Patrol

— Thomas Discipio, of Canton, was cited at 1:27 p.m. Oct. 17 in West Township for failure to control, after he went off the right side of Rochester Road while southwest bound and struck a ditch and overturned his vehicle.

— Shawn Peters, of Beaver Falls, Pa., was cited at 10:06 a.m. Oct. 18 in Fairfield Township for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. Crystal Thompson, of Riffle Road in Rogers was southbound on state Route 7, when a northbound Peters turned left in front of her at the intersection of state Routes 7 and 558, striking her.

— Megan Jenkins, of McGeehan Road in Lisbon, was cited at 6:10 a.m. Oct. 15 in Madison Township for failure to control, after failing to negotiate a curve while westbound on state Route 518 and going off the left side of the road and striking an embankment.

— Raeann Sanor, of Georgetown Road in Salem, was cited at 7:50 a.m. Oct. 16 in Fairfield Township, after she attempted to turn east on TR882 and struck Lisa Gregory, of 8th Avenue in East Liverpool. Gregory had been northbound on state Route 7 and traveled off the east side of the road.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 4:03 a.m. Wednesday for a reported burglary alarm. Officers checked the exterior of the residence and found it to be secure. The alarm company later called to cancel the alarm.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 4:03 a.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. Officers located a person who matched the description given in an earlier report who was identified and advised of the complaint.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 3:43 a.m. Wednesday for a report of shoplifting. The caller advised that a man had taken items from the cooler and walked out of the store with them, and that they were not sure what they looked like exactly but that a manager would be in later that day to view the camera footage. Officers later located a man matching the description given by the caller, but he did not have any items that would have been from the store on him.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 1:01 a.m. Wednesday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that their boyfriend, whom officers had removed earlier in the evening, had returned to her residence and was sleeping inside his vehicle. Officers spoke with the man who had text messages proving he and the caller had met at a restaurant after officers made him leave the residence and advised that he had been granted permission to sleep outside in his vehicle. Officers spoke with the caller, but due to her level of intoxication she was unsure if she had allowed him to stay in the driveway or not. However, at that time she did grant him permission to sleep in the vehicle on the property. Officers advised him not to enter the residence, or he would be arrested.

— Officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 8:42 p.m. Tuesday for a reported juvenile problem. Officers spoke with the juvenile in question, and they left the area.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday for a reported runaway juvenile. Officers located the juvenile, and they returned them to their home.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday for a reported dispute. When the officers arrived, they found that a babysitter had been arguing with one of the children she was watching and that nobody else was at the residence. Everything checked out OK. .

— Officers responded to the 2100 block of East State Street at 5:44 p.m. Tuesday for a reported distraught person. The caller advised that a woman was outside in the parking lot harassing people and causing a disturbance. Officers were unable to locate the woman and were advised that she had left prior to their arrival.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday for a reported medical call. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center emergency room at 4:34 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an alleged sex offense. A patrolman and detective spoke with the victim and obtained information about the incident before responding to the 300 block of Walnut Street where the incident occurred. A short time later officers were advised that the woman had left on foot and was supposed to be transported by ambulance to another medical facility for proper testing. Officers searched the area for the woman but were unable to locate her.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Continental Drive at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday to follow up on a possible location of a missing juvenile. Officers spoke with the homeowner and received consent to search the residence for the missing juvenile. Officers checked the residence but did not locate the juvenile.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers were unable to make contact with the person in question but were advised by a neighbor that they had been seen leaving their apartment prior to officers’ arrival.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Stewart Road at 4:37 a.m. Sunday for a reported medical call. The caller stated that all their doors and windows were locked, and he was unable to get out of bed. Entry was made through the garage, and the man was transported by EMT.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Colonial Drive at 8:12 a.m. Saturday to speak with someone potentially involved in a hit and skip on behalf of the Austintown Police Department. Contact was made, and the person was advised to contact the Austintown Department.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of West Seventh Street at 6:45 a.m. Friday to assist the Salem Police Department. Officers helped clear a residence and detain two people.

— AAlayah Swope, 21, Struthers, was cited for failure to yield after her northbound vehicle on Cunningham Road failed to yield at the intersection with state Route 344, causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven westbound on state Route 344 by Jesse Vingle, 47, Salem, at 6:01 p.m. Oct. 15. Vingle was cited for expired registration.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Liberty Street at 6:12 p.m. Oct. 14 for a reported solicitor. Officers spoke with the man in question and advised him that solicitation was not allowed in the township.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 6:40 p.m. Oct. 13 who advised that he wanted to retrieve his vehicle from a former co-worker. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised that it was his vehicle and that the other party had tools belonging to him. Both parties advised that verbal agreements and money were exchanged at one point. Both parties were advised to contact their attorney regarding the incident as it was a civil matter.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Cliff Drive at 4:13 p.m. Oct. 13 for a warrant check. Officers located the person in question, Danny Shultz, and took him into custody and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of West State Street at 3:55 p.m. Oct. 13 for a warrant check. Officers located the person in question, Michael Gbur, and took them into custody and transported them to the Columbiana County Jail.
